Lovely vegan food in a bright and cosy restaurant in Truro. We had the loaded hash browns and the toasties and took away a homemade cake.

Lovely staff members, excellent vegan menu (tricky to decide!), cosy atmosphere and decor.

Just celebrated my birthday meal here and it was brilliant! We had the Cheesy Garlic Bread (they add something to the cheesy sauce which blows all other Garlic Bread out of the water!) Fish and Chips - best fake battered Tofu I've had since going vegan and my partner had the Carbonara. These guys are crushing it and the staff were so sweet and attentive. We drove over half an hour to visit them and we will 100% recommend to all vegan, veggie AND meat eaters to dine here as all the food was outstanding. Thanks for having us!

Not a bad vegan burger, they use moving mountains. The Pretzel bun was way too big, stodgy and chewy, I like my burger buns much thinner and softer. The corn ribs were great as was the Cornish cola. Would come here again as was enjoyable enough, the lady serving was really attentive and the restaurant was nice inside.

We had a lovely meal and the service was excellent. Neither of us are vegans but our meals were delicious.

The food here was excellent as was the service. We booked for 745 and were the only ones there which was a pity . However service and food still excellent.

We came here this week and we were blown away by our experience! The food was absolutely delicious, the customer service was incredible; Warm, friendly and welcoming. If we lived locally this would become our go to restaurant immediately! Alas, we were on holiday so shan’t be back for a while although I’ll say this; A visit to The Cornish vegan was not our primary reason for visiting Truro, it will be next time we’re in Cornwall! You must try the carbonara, it was ridiculously good!

Are they still open…?? I’ve texted 7times with a takeaway request since the 13th of July up to today, I’ve had no reply. I’ve tried calling the landline too and not just me, my husband has also tried texting for a takeaway and had also tried the landline and he’s had no answer. Neither their closed or so so rude?? That’s us giving up trying to order, you’ve lost a regular & local customer. Very disappointed! It’s doesn’t even deserve the one star

We had a super evening at this restaurant. There was a good amount of choice on the menu and the waitress was very helpful in giving her recommendations. The food was some of the best vegan food we've had and was delicious! The portion sizes were good and we're reasonably priced. Thr waitress who served us was super- she was attentive and had a good sense of humour! Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely go back!

Awesome little place - called in on a very quiet Tuesday evening (come on Cornwall, this place deserves your custom). Pleasant surroundings, friendly staff and lovely food. I went for the vegan fish and chips - a soya based ‘fish’ with skin on fries, proper mushy peas and homemade curry sauce. I thought the portion was too big - and I was wrong!

What a find! A must-go when in Truro. The Cornish Burger was one of the best I've had.. the char-grilled slaw was spectacular. The Loaded Hash Browns were AMAZING too.. The service was great - the team went above and beyond to accommodate us, as we took over a corner of the restaurant. Can't wait to come back.

I was so happy to find a 100% vegan restaurant in Cornwall. It’s a bit sad that it’s the only one but thank goodness this one is great! A truly eclectic menu with locally sourced produce. The staff were fabulous, it’s very easy to find and park. The starters we had, cauliflower bites and loaded hash browns were delicious. The mains we had were Mac ‘n’ cheese (2 teens declared best ever), lemon tofu, great and pasta carbonara, which was a little too rich for my taste but very flavourful (I probably ate too much from the starters to be honest!) Price was great, ambience relaxed, HIGHLY recommended.

Great for vegans, but not allergy sufferers. The chef actually advised AGAINST ordering due to food allergies (specifically nuts in our case) as the kitchen is so small, so we sadly left without ordering 😔 Following the comments from the owner, I also felt it necessary to add that I left this review to inform other potential allergy sufferers of the ‘policy’. Having dealt with food allergies for over a decade now and seen how far things have come along, if we see a vegan place we always prioritise visiting it, and the Cornish vegan looked amazing, it was just so disappointing that they were unable to cater, or even attempt to cater for allergies. I appreciate the kitchen is small, but surely not too small to clean down utensils and surfaces to prepare something safely. I’ll add that there was only us and one other family when we arrived and it took the waitress a good 10 minutes to come to us for us to ask the questions we needed to. I attempted to keep my original review small, and to the point to inform allergy sufferers not to be disappointed like we were, but received a tsunami of a reply justifying their response and approach (we cant serve you) to allergies. To be clear I gave 2 stars for the lovely atmosphere and cleanliness of the the dining area, I was unable to star the food as we were unable to order, or the drinks as again, we did not order as we left due to the food, and the service was incredibly slow. (We did go a few doors down and were catered for amazingly, with no issues at all.)

We booked for three people, but only two could make it. The table was set up with the booking name, which gave it more of a personal touch. Even though the restaurant is smaller than most, the atmosphere is amazing and the staff/owners can't do enough for you. We also bought and asked for a takeaway, which they packaged neatly in containers and had all the meals bagged and ready to go, even prior to paying. The food choice was ample and it arrived before I could finish a coffee. The portion size far exceeded expectations and tasted devine. The service overall was amazing and I would, return at anytime, once in the area of Truro. I would definitely recommend 'The Cornish Vegan' to anyone who is thinking about going out or trying something new, even if your not a Vegan.

Great vegan menu - so hard to choose what to get knowing we were only in Truro for the day. I got the lunch bowl with falafel and wife for the toasted cheese sandwich. Both amazing. Prices not too bad and nice staff too.

As a non vegan - I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Who knew tofu could be so delicious. All the food was so filling too, we actually struggled to finish! The staff were so welcoming and lovely and it's a really cute place. Definitely recommend for a nice get together. The basket of feminine hygiene products in the bathroom was a really thoughtful little touch.

Every bite of everything this restaurant makes is so amazingly delicious. We had the fish and chips, sweet and sour stir fry with deep fried Oreos for dessert. I wish we had more time in Cornwall so I could try everything on their menu! Well worth the money. The service was really friendly and warm, the atmosphere was cosy, and the seats were comfortable. I recently tried the vegan carbonara, and it was absolutely delightful! The creamy, rich sauce perfectly captures the traditional flavours of a carbonara, with a savory depth that made each bite incredibly satisfying. This vegan classic dish is a must-try for anyone, whether you're vegan or just looking to enjoy a delicious, wholesome meal.

I couldn't rave about this place more! The food, the decor, the atmosphere, and the staff were all incredible. Not to mention very very reasonably priced considering it being in the heart of truro. I've been itching to try a meal here for years and finally made it to which it did not disappoint. We came at lunch time so there was a smaller menu than in the evening, but still with more than pleanty to tempt anyone. Both my partner and I were blown away not only with the taste of the food but also the quality of the ingredients, the presentation, the quantity, even the crockery was lovely. Additionally, we were made to feel so incredibly welcome and looked after, the staff were an excellent testament to the cornish vegan. They were friendly, attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable, warm, and speedy though at no point did we feel rushed. I wish I could come regularly as I not only wanted to try everything on the menu, but would love to give the cornish vegan the patronage it deserves.

Came to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary this evening and really glad we chose this restaurant. The food was amazing, we had the corn ribs,loaded hash browns,burger, carbonara and for pudding( even though we were stuffed by this point it had to be done because the food was so good) we had the deep fried oreos and chocolate brownie. The staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was very welcoming and we would certainly go back. We brought our dog too which was great that they were dog friendly. We visited the Cornish Vegan on Saturday, 22nd June. We both had the sourdough toastie with some fries, finishing off with a couple of cakes. The food and service were excellent, and we would highly recommend it! -

Used google to find a good stop for lunch in Truro after a hilly walk from Malpas. This cafe popped up and as vegetarians were eager to try it. Just up from the main part of the high street, you enter a nicely decorated cafe. The owners were super friendly and the lunch menu, we probably could of tried it all! We opted for the lunch bowls which were insanely tasteful with great tasting and fresh ingredients. A perfect buddha bowl! Great prices too. Will definitely revisit and highly recommend

After reading reviews, I had high expectations. The staff were all lovely and helpful, the venue is nice, and the food was good overall, but the menu is a confusing mix of dishes without any apparent theme, some dishes are very hard to understand from their descriptions (for example, the mushrooms with rice are crispy and sweet), and others could easily be improved (for example, why would you not melt the vegan cheese on the loaded hash browns?) I really wanted to love this place, did have a good time there, and want to see it succeed, but I am puzzled by the high ratings of other reviews...

A vegan gem with friendly staff, a secret garden. Even non-vegans will love the chilli, burgers, Tuesday pizza (fantastic home made dough) and Friday vegan fish and chips. I particularly like the indulgent deep battered cauliflower florets! Great music playing too, and not too obtrusive.

Super place to eat whether full on vegan or like us just a bit curious. We had the chilli bean and the lentil dish. Both very good. Service and welcome from FoH and chef brilliant. Treat yourselves!

As a vegan virgin, I went there to meet a friend for lunch, the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and chatty. Definitely recommend this place, even if your not a vegan, it's a real taste of heaven

We had a wonderful meal here - it's a proper powerhouse for all things plant based so a real treat for vegans but at the same time, as it has such a wide range of dishes on the menu, it's also the perfect place to bring anybody who is just interested in trying some new flavours and ingredients. You'll find something to tempt you on the menu no matter who you are. Options span the range from a decadently delicious double stacked tower of vegan pastrami with smoked cheese, roasted red peppers, baby spinach and microgreens finished with sriracha mayo, to the Lunch Bowl bursting with colourful goodness and featuring sweet chilli tofu, lemon and dill marinaded carrots with homemade houmous alongside a range of epic vegetables and topped with a wasabi mayo dressing. The puds were seriously good too! The venue was relaxed and inviting, the team were super friendly and the food was 1st class. This one comes highly recommended as one of Cornwall's finest spots to indulge in original, delicious flavours and try some top notch plant based culinary magic first hand.

We understand there's been a change in ownership and menu. The new menu does not feel revolutionary or particular exciting. For a resturant specialising in vegan food... there was nothing new here. The rice in particular tasted microwaved - which we were assured was not. We had such high hopes for this place!! Hopefully a shimmy up of the menu and some fresh alternatives might save the day? We hope so!! 🙏

Ate here in October 2023 on the way down to Helston. The food was excellent and the staff were lovely. Still thinking of the poutine fries and loaded croquettes to this day!

Really enjoyed my visit to The Cornish Vegan today. The coffee and hot choc are especially delicious as were the cakes. The staff were happy and friendly. I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant.

Really good and different food for a birthday get together

Excellent vegan food as always married with superb service and a warm welcome. I had the mushroom fusion and my daughter had the carbonara pasta, after vegetable gyozas to start. All were delicious. It was purely by chance we’d booked on the last night for the present owners so it was lovely to have an opportunity to wish them well and thank them for all the wonderful vegan meals we’ve enjoyed during their ownership. Here’s hoping the new owners continue to build on the excellent reputation of the outgoing owners.

Great food really enjoyed by 4 non-vegans! We went for a birthday celebration and wanted to try something different and the family running this place didn’t let us down. I can highly recommend the poutine, katsu tofu and spaghetti “carbonara”. Filling portions so didn’t have room for dessert!

I don't tend to leave reviews, but after another disappointing visit I felt it only right. Unfortunately not as great as it once was. We've visited TCV many times, but the last few times the food has been just about average. We had the "fish" & onion rings & they were so greasy they were inedible. The man who took our order was pleasant, but I hate to say this, stayed too long at our table chatting when my friend & I were trying to enjoy our time together & catch up. Some people may like that, but it just felt awkward after a short time. I would love to say I can't wait to come back, but like most people find, enjoying a meal out can be an expensive event, so we will unfortunately be trying somewhere new.

I thoroughly enjoyed my non fish and chips super yummy ❤️ my husband the non vegan had cheezy garlic bread and he loved it. The portions are very generous and the owner and the waitresses were just so nice, chatty and helpful. It is just fabulous to not only be able to enjoy vegan but to go into a restaurant and be so welcomed. We will visit again to try the rest of the menu ❤️

We read a recent and rare negative review with a mix of disbelief and disappointment. Disbelief that one of our favourite restaurants should have received such a poor review and disappointment that someone should feel the need to complain over the late arrival of coffees. Yet again the food, atmosphere and service were wonderful. Starters, mains and dessert were delicious (recommend the fish and chips). Graham was attentive (never intrusive) and the food and drinks arrived in very reasonable time. We look forward to our next visit. p.s. We nipped into Costa Coffee recently. The coffee order was delivered really quickly.

Absolutely wonderful evening spent here for my husband’s birthday. Really friendly service with a smile, felt like nothing was too much trouble. Brilliant menu choices for all the family, (even the fussier kids! 🥳) Delicious food and a lovely homely atmosphere. Would highly recommend and looking forward to going back again in the future.

I happened to find the cornish vegan through my friend who is vegan and she said the food was amazing, unfortunately i came here and the food was awful no flavour or real taste, when we asked for 2 lattes to be brought out before out main (we made this extremely clear) the man serving out the front gave us our drinks WITH our main! he was to busy chatting about random stuff with other customers and he kept talking to us as if we were stupid. when we expressed our dissatisfaction he just said there was nothing that could be done now. DO NOT come here, its not worth wasting your money. As well as this he then started rambling on about himself whilst we said we needed to leave all he did was just chat, i get its friendly but not for 20 MINUTES, it was ment to be a relaxing date night, ruined completely

Love this place! I have been here numerous times over the past few years, and it didn’t disappoint. We arrived just after the lunch rush at about 4, and the lunch gluten free options were sold out, but I was grateful to have the Thai red curry. And it was the absolute best Thai curry that me and my partner have had! The service is also great, and the staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive. It was very quiet when we were there, but the atmosphere was still very comfortable, we didn’t feel awkward. The coffee is great here too!

Amazing variety of flavours, very pretty upon arrival, we went back both days we were in Truro. Desserts were taken home because we were so full and we even bought a Badge pin for a keepsake! We will be returning

I love this little restored in central Truro, gorgeous owners and fresh, delicious food with is well priced. It has a small menu that offers a lot. I go regulars and have not been able to go past the red Thai veg curry or Mac n cheese. My daughter always orders the mushroom fusion because she is obsessed. Great cakes that are made in house.

I booked a table for dinner at The Cornish Vegan to celebrate my fiancée and I getting engaged. As this was an important occasion, I wanted to make the evening extra special - Rob and Graham were very happy to oblige! They took the time to get in touch with me to suggest flowers for the table, champagne, and even went so far as to prepare a special dessert and lovely card. The Cornish Vegan is our absolute favourite restaurant!! One of the very best vegan restaurants in the country, and we’ve been to many! My girlfriend and I go here regularly and for special occasions, because the food is just to die for! Amazing flavours, fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked every time. We love the variety on the menu too! You’re spoilt for choice! Although we have to admit that we go for our favourites too often… we particularly recommend the ‘fish’ and chips, the Canadian poutine, the burger, the hotdog, the onion rings, and the mushroom arancini! All so so delicious!! The vegan fish and chips is the best I’ve ever had and I have it pretty much every time! The atmosphere of the restaurant is always so welcoming too. The decor is lovely, comfy chairs and tables situated ideally for the perfect meal out - whether it be a chilled lunch with friends or a cosy romantic dinner. There’s something on the menu for everyone - vegans and non-vegans alike! They’ve got various gluten-free options and options that can be adapted for children too! This place is an absolute gem. Rob and Graham wonderful host/chef. Best place I ate in this holiday in Cornwall with delicious wine list (Pinot Noir my favourite). Vegan FSH & chips really tasty. We were on holiday and were so pleased to find a vegan restaurant here. The food was so delicious, the restaurant had such a great atmosphere and the service was fantastic. We had such a great meal here!

My wife treated me to lunch on Saturday after a particularly challenging week. I was excited to try the Cornish Vegan as I've walked past it for the last 20 years and never once been inside, but recent reviews had piqued my interest. We ordered the poutine to share, 2 Rueben sandwiches and couple of excellent Bloody Marys. The service was great. Attentive and with attention to detail, clearly interested in ensuring the experience was to the customer's tastes. Of course that should be standard but it's less common than you think. The drinks were perfect, seasoned well, and with the option for more heat and salt if desired. And then the food arrived... Oh. Yes. The Poutine (a dish I haven't had in 25 years) was fantastic. It was really tasty, moreish, and filling but with a sprinkling of spring onion and fresh chilli that kept the palate fresh with every bite. (Poutine, while delicious, can become a bit of a slog to finish...happy to report that none of that fatigue set in here) The Rueben sandwiches were show-stopping. A really well conceived array of flavours that bring to mind the classic, meat Rueben but build off that familiarity to create a taste sensation all of it's own. Very, very highly recommended. The restaurant filled up pretty quickly as soon as the doors opened and the atmosphere was warm and lively. To top off a wonderful lunch, the in-house loyalty scheme means we now have yet another reason to return. Top marks!

Superb food tried the Tagliatelle, F*ish and Chips, Hot Dog and Poke Bowl- all good (could do with some chilli sauce but thats the only suggestion i’d make) Choc cake- lovely, chocolatey and smooth!

Went in there for lunch today at 1425 not realising they closed at 1430. At no point did they rush us. The service was fantastic and the staff were super friendly. The food was equally as impressive. The F*sh and chips were really good. I have craved fish since turning vegan and this was better than the real thing. I only turned vegan a couple of months and they spent time at the end of the meal discussing it, despite being well past their closing time. Can't thank them enough for such a fantastic experience.

Amazing food, great portions and the staff were so friendly! We went here for lunch and it was affordable, great quality food and such a nice atmosphere. The staff were all very friendly and helpful! Would highly recommend visiting here. The garlic bread is AMAZING!
