Best meal we have had for years. Well deserved praise from everyone. Ugo the owner so kind and welcoming, Front of house attentive and informative. We used to run a restaurant and so rarely score highly; thus it’s even more of a pleasure to experience the delicious result of an authentic culinary business. Thank you.

Don’t let the location put you off!* The pasta is SO good, handmade every morning. All the food is made with such care and skill. It’s clear a lot of thought and time goes into sourcing the right ingredients. The sauces are all delicious - we tried ragu, carbonara, pesto (made with local basil) and creamy tomato. We came as a family with children with ages 2-13 and everyone enjoyed their food. There’s a small discount for a children’s portion but it’s basically the same size as the adult one. The desserts are also really good especially the tiramisu which is the best we’ve had. Thankfully it’s also available to takeaway so we will enjoy it again tomorrow! We also bought some really nice items from the shop which will make great gifts. The staff who work here are super friendly, they were so accommodating to our small children and provided paper and crayons as well as a complimentary glass with a little ice cream in as a treat. To come to a restaurant where our children are all happy to spend almost two hours, chatting and enjoying food. We had time for dessert and coffee. When does this happen?! A fabulous last evening to our holiday at an Italian family run restaurant. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, great food & wine, unusual location. Wish we had found it before! We’ll be back!

We've been to see Ugo and his family twice now and each visit has been the most wonderful of experiences. The welcome our family received was warming and we immediately felt at home. Our latest visit was on Mother's day and the food was absolutely incredible, even our kids ate everything, no small achievement I can tell you. The flavours from each dish were just sublime, truly exceptional. I can't speak highly enough about the food, nor can I about Ugo and his family.

Delicious authentic Italian food! We had the ragu and the carbonara, both were yummy, everything homemade. Service was great, desserts were amazing! Prosecco poured from the bottle at the table - like they do in Italy! Would definitely recommend.

First visit to Cornish Italian , was spot on , from the warm welcome, Freshly cooked dishes so tasty. Award winning Tirimisu 😋Service and atmosphere was great too. Can't wait to go back again . I would say booking is recommended as was going to be a busy evening .

What a fabulous place! A young italian guy bringing masterful cornish/italian fusion dishes that elicit groans of delight with each mouthful from every table. A carefully curated menu cooked to perfection and served with infectious enthusiasm, justly confident that you will enjoy whatever you have chosen. Everything was spot on, much better than any high street Italian and worthy of many return visits.

Just left The Cornish Italian. It’s a great concept. A food truck business in a proper unit. Simple menu, done exceptionally well. Homemade fresh pasta with the option of different homemade sauces. We both had the smoked pork and it was brilliant. Served in a cardboard bowl for street food authenticity. We followed it with a tiramisu. We would have had the one with the Cornish rum but they had run out. We were not disappointed with the original TiramisUgo. Great food, great personable owner Ugo (and Mum who was helping tonight). We would definitely return.

Fabulous food, locally sourced, wonderfully cooked and a talented visionary behind the whole process called Ugo Massabo. If you live in Cornwall go. You will not be disappointed, and if you're just visiting enjoy the taste of Cornish food with a subtle Italian twist.

A proper Italian restaurant on the Roseland. Great food and wine and a very friendly welcome. We'll be back and looking forward to trying a Sunday brunch.

We are so glad that we tried this wonderful place. We were driving home after a day with friends, pondering having to shop for food then we saw The Cornish Italian! Friends had spoken highly of it and it did not disappoint. Ugo could not have been more welcoming and accommodating for one of our group who prefers to eat gluten-free and cooked a delicious (according to our friend, we never got a taste!) Beef ragu with excellent quality gluten-free pasta. The rest of us enjoyed the beautifully cooked Beef ravioli. I didn't have any wine but apparently it was splendid! The ambience of the place is great and they sell a variety of authentic Italian products. Definitely recommended and we can't wait to go back and sample more dishes form the menu.

Absolutely amazing! Ugo catered for our Christmas Elopement and the experience from start to finish was unbelievable. The food tasted incredible, our little ones are still talking about it now! All made fresh and tasted gorgeous. Could not recommend enough! Thank you so much for making our wedding day! X
