On holiday in the area and we went to the Cornish Inn for a family meal, we was very disappointed. No children’s menu, little choice/variations of food. Never the less thinking the pub looks lovely we stuck around and ordered some food. One of the meals ordered was the brisket with blue cheese sauce... well all I can say is make sure you have already eaten before you go as the portion size for £13 is pretty shocking the size of the brisket was literally bite size not a meal! The picture doesn’t show how small it was, I’ve seen bigger steak for less £. Apparently if we had asked we could have had more! Never know anything like it. You don't even ask for more when you go to a carvery especially not meat, so why would or should you have to ask? Another order the pulled BBQ brisket more meat less price but nothing to write home about no expected extra lil coleslaw etc. Better off driving out and paying for better quality and for a meal.

Can't see why this place, which is set back on a mini sort of square on the right about half way up the hill from the bridge, should be listed amongst Plymouth eating places when it is so far away. We've been in a couple of times over recent years. It's OK. Nothing to write home about. More a local facility and well established in a modest way in this one street extruded former mining village on the Cornish side of the Tamar Valley.

A mixed bag, went with high expectations but left disappointed. Lots of friendly staff but a little disorganised. Drinks took a long time to appear after ordering and then arrived at different times over a 10 minute period. The prawn cocktail looked nice but was quite tasteless. After that our steak arrived and we were given completely cold plates. The steak itself was tasty and tender, the chips were ok, the sauces were very small but reasonably tasty, the onion rings were bland. The puddings were ok, nothing special. All came with premium prices attached. The cheapest bottle of red wine @ about £25 was actually very nice and the best value part of the meal. What you are paying for is the name, the view, which is outstanding, and the veneer of eating in an upmarket venue with smartly dressed waiting staff, all of whom were polite and reasonably efficient. Would I go again, possibly, but I won’t be rushing back.

Totally heartbroken that these guys had to close, not only the food, atmosphere and service were probably the best in Plymouth but it was a truly special place judging by international standards! Will always remember the place and selfishly hope they open something in the future. Take care guys!
