Stopped by Cornish Bakery for a quick coffee and was genuinely impressed. The coffee was rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced — clearly made with care. It had that deep, comforting aroma that hits you in all the right ways. The barista was welcoming, and the cozy atmosphere made it easy to sit back and relax for a bit. If you’re after a quality coffee with a warm, local vibe, this spot is a gem. Will definitely be back!

Not the best experience, expensive and very little choice. One size fits all for coffee! Barista lacked personality Pasties had seen better days, but tasted very good!

A pasty that perfectly embodied the British experience. Warm and promising on the outside yet disappointingly bland on the inside. Meanwhile swarms of pain face shoppers stood in an orderly queue adding to the authentic “waiting for something better” atmosphere. A true cultural experience. Thank you!

I had one of the new apple crumble scones , they were one of the best coffee shop cakes I have ever tasted , a very well thought about bakery item , and yes very friendly staff and great coffee as always 😀

We sat at rain soaked tables outside and didn’t know the seats were soaked before sitting down. They felt dry to touch. Ordered tea for two from a female who looked miserable - not even a hint of a smile - like a robot. The teacups are the type where you can’t get a finger through the handle. Why is that?? Such a weird thing. The tea itself was ok but that’s about it.

I have become a regular customer in this Street branch in Clarks Village for almost 2 years now. Always greeted with a smile and all staff are so wonderfully polite and friendly. The food is always of high quality and I am always made to feel well looked after and welcome every time I visit. Thank you Rita and all of your lovely team for making such a nice environment to visit on my breaks whilst I am working and on my days off too! It makes a massive positive difference to my day and I appreciate you all, much love! ❤️❤️❤️

Carrot cake was amazing coffee is lovely

Can't rate the food as didn't get chance to try it, stood in the queue for 15 mins then got ignored while they proceeded to serve the next customer behind me then the next and by the third I aired my views about being ignored and left.

Pasties not great very little meat not authentically Cornish.

Had lunch in here, ordered a cheese and onion pasty, can of coke and a raspberry croissant. The pasty was very full and tasty. I had to ask for a bag to eat the croissant at home as was full after eating. The service was good and surprised that it wasn't too pricey. Would come back again

Pleasant attitude, but slow, my main gripe is they don't take cash so we just had coffee, if I was on my own I would have just left, my view is, if my cash isn't acceptable then they don't deserve my custom.

Food was very good, staff was friendly. I would recommend it.

My first time trying Cornish Bakery. I knew it is very popular and I didn’t know what was the best to have so I ordered a tortilla with a cappuccino. Average food and environment, nothing special for lunch. The tortilla was a bit dry and just something that I didn’t quite enjoy. However, I will definitely try sausage roll next time as it looked delicious!

Went for mid afternoon coffee/tea and cake. Very nice and enjoyable

Had the best pasty & coffee with a warm, welcoming service. The queue continued the whole time we were there but the service remained at a high standard.

Excellent choice of pastries, lovely and clean, fast friendly service. Visited first thing in the morning and last thing at night, really liked it.

The pasties were just OK. No better or worse but at a premium price I would expect better.

I feel the sign that the establishment is ‘Card only’ needs to be a lot bigger and easily noticeable, only just noticed it as I was walking in and had a glance for the average customer this is not so easy to see. The staff behind the counter didn’t appear very happy not one person had a smile on there face while serving and seemed like ‘robots’ going through the motions. I can’t fault the food or the bakery side of things it’s a really lovely establishment, I just feel having a better connection with the customers would of made the experience alot nicer.

Bought a raspberry and white chocolate bronut for takeaway at lunch time but saved it until after my evening meal. Had honestly been looking forward to it all day. Was honestly the worst thing I have ever put in my mouth. God knows how they labelled it as those flavours. Taste like cream cheese to me. Bloody awful. It should have been labelled as 'horrific cream cheese and sort of raspberry bronut'

I didn’t realise it was card only or I would never have entered. The staff were nice but the coffee very average. I had a cheese scone and I can honestly say it was vile - one of the worst I’ve ever had! ( It is my snack of choice, if I am to be honest) It was dry, crumbly and had a very odd aftertaste - may have over done an ingredient, possibly mustard? It’s a soulless place, and not enhanced by the proliferation of screaming children. Expensive for what it is and I certainly can’t recommend it.

Always loved this place, food is always delicious, unfortunately I will not go there again, why, because they will no longer take cash. Personally I find this so wrong, we have to make a stand and keep our currency, I will tell friends also to avoid. Sorry Cornish Bakery but this is one customer you have list.

Quick service... Clean and enthusiastic staff. The food tasted good. The only thing I DID NOT like was that it was card only ...no cash payments taken.!

Very good place to visit and get a lovely hot pasty! Good vegan food and vegetarian options as well. Not cheap but well worth it!

Had their Cornish Pudding and it was fantastic, wonderful taste, smooth with crunch on top, a must if you visit.

Cornish pasties were very dry. The bottom of pastry uneatable! They had been sitting on a hot tray obviously for too long. Very disappointing. Tables were not getting cleared so had to clear ourselves before we could sit down. … £16.20 !! Payment by card only Will not be going back.

Popular spot and fills up quickly No outside heating and inside minimal tables for two as many sit 4 and used by couples. Food is good pasties and scones exceptional Coffee lovers, you may be disappointed

Great piping hot pasties and assortments of sweet and savoury treats. Coffee was pretty good and the service was impeccable.

This is great place to go to get lunch or treat yourself to something sweet. There's a multitude of options to choose from, something for everyone. They also do milkshakes of a variety of flavours which are delicious and of a large size.

Although there was a queue outside the door, the service was very quick. It was very busy so we took our pasties back to the car and enjoyed them very much.

It's sad that I can't give this more stars. Starting with a positive the masala pasties are excellent, hint of spice but not overpowering. Visited here twice in two days. First time left without being served. My husband was standing at the front of the queue waiting to be served. He was ignored and the people behind were served. It was if he was invisible. Today we were second people in after it opened. Person who served us was so uninterested in serving. Great pasty rubbish service

Great pasties and the best coffee in Clarke's Village. Service is excellent, well organised routine amongst the friendly and helpful serving staff and table turn over meant seating available when it was needed. A must visit!

Great place to have a cuppa and cake, it's not cheap, ....but where is ? the food is lovely, I had one sausage roll and it filled me up for the rest of the afternoon .

Great litte cafe in clarkes village well worth a visit

What we had was nice. Coffee was good and the breakfast filled croissants were OK. There was plenty of room inside to eat at around 10.30am but from experience the place gets very crowded lunchtime.

The Steak and Stilton pasty is a favorite of mine and The Cornish Bakery make one of the best I've tasted, this popular place is always busy, a testament to it's good food.

Very busy, difficult to find a seat, but pasties and sausage rolls were scrummy!

The very nicest Cornish Pastries if you are planning on visiting Clarke's Village. Sizes for all appetites. An ideal place for a lunchtime snack.

Fabulous food. Always a queue there so you have to be patient but worth the wait.

Ate at the Clarks Outlet store on Friday 17th November at 1400. There was a short queue but it was well worth it for the selection of pasties and pastries. What was impressive was the young person on clear up. As soon as a table emptied it was cleared and cleaned. Not only that but also the floor was swept. I only wish we had got their name. If you are the owner of this unit, find her and give her employee of the month a credit to her and the company.

Our pasty was like warm and had only two pieces of meat in it. Won't be coming back. Staf were lovely but system was a shambles.

Our pasties were lukewarm and unfortunately it is a card only cafe, not the best! Staff were pleasant and efficient.

We visited late pm so amount of choice limited. However as usual we thoroughly enjoyed our pasties and the Cup of tea is always first class in our opinion.

never had a cinnamon cronut type pastry before, really nice, but would love a gooey filling as well nice tasting coffee, but 10 oz is too small for me personally & I wouldn't want 2 But, I was blanked by a member of staff when I asked if dogs were allowed in, it took 3 attempts - they are👍 For the number of staff 'serving' they were not as polished as the West Bay branch, it took a long time to progress & collect the food & drink

Usually would give 5 Star but last Monday the pasties were slightly under done so they looked a bit enemic and the pastry had a weak powdery texture. Have had pasties here for years so I hope this was a mishap by a new member of staff. If they are like this next time I'll probably not return.

Visited 14/10/23. Served by stroppy teenagers who could not give a hoot. Pasty was a dry, mummified relic clearly days past its best. Nor recommended. 'Will not return.

A big downside is they don't accept cash. There is a good range of food and cakes etc. which is good. Price seemed OK.

I went in for a coffee and some food and disappointed that they only took cards I was in q 15-25 minutes and you can't see the sign outside not all people would notice I bet I'm not the 1st rather annoying after driving for 3hrs coach trip so only 2 stars. Not everyone wants to pay by card I wonder how many they lose due to this as far I have can see only one here in street.

I have visited today with my family and we were so pleased with the experience. The recently refurbished cafe is so welcoming.All the items for sale are presented so well and you just want to select what you fancy and enjoy eating it. But one thing that has always been there on my multiple visits over the years is the staff. You are always greeted with a smile which is very important in the times we are living in. Well done.
