M&S Simply Food in Mendip

I needed some underwear to go under a special dress and wasn’t sure what I wanted. I approached a sales lady called Sonia who was amazingly helpful. She interrupted what she was doing and found online exactly what I needed and even ordered it for me. Many thanks Sonia

The usual M &S quality , but there are lots of independent shops in Frome that will give you something different .

It's really handy having a food shop in the town centre - as there doesn't seem to be that many anymore after the national denomination of a few megastores (with free carparking). However, I feel that M&S should put a bit more effort into how they serve their 'click and collect' customers. I had to pick up another order in Frome so I ordered something from M&S the same day - I called in but was told it was not available and was hoping to pick it up later but then received a message saying it had been delayed for 48 hours. When I got home, I decided to cancel the order and get it at another branch off-the-shelf to discover that it had been delivered to the Frome branch at 9 a.m. that morning. Thanks for that.

Out of stock of all Coronation chicken readymade items unfortunately! However the low star review is because car parking is paid, only cash or app (ring go) at the parking machines - No cards. Previous reviews stated you get your parking money back but I found that I was slightly under the apparent £10 spend required and with queues and short of time it was unsuitable to go find something else. Not impressed about that.

Excellent small store with an abundance of quality products with clothes and household goods as well the food which M&S in renowned for ,with a bonus of a car park.

Larger than many "Simply Food" and also does clothing, wine and many other items.

Good selection of foods, flowers, cards and clothes. Everything is always fresh.

The clothing section of this shop is not large, but the food hall is great. A really good selection of lovely food. What makes this store shine, however, is the almost pathological helpfulness of the staff. They are virtually falling over themselves to make sure you can find what you need, and are so friendly and welcoming. A lovely shopping experience.

Went in to buy a few Christmas treats and had a really frustrating experience. I was in the queue for the self checkouts behind a few people and a lady walked straight past us all and went to a checkout that was out of order. When she was told that it wasn't working, she simply loitered near the checkouts and used the next one that became available. While she was stood there she stared back at the queue, so it was clear that she could see there were others already waiting, but seemed to think it was fine to go straight to the front. The staff didn't ask her to go to the back of the queue, probably because they were helping others and presumed that she was next, so not their fault. I've had similar experiences to this in the past, where we've been looking for something on a shelf and someone has walked through us in huff, so we've stepped out of their way. It seems that if you are full of your own self importance then you shop at this store. I won't be going back in a hurry.

A good selection of item, with a larger property than other branches of the chain. Some locally produced goods are stocked here, along with the usual variety of supermarket goods, albeit at a very slightly higher cost. There is a large car park which is a pay and display, so there wont be any accessibility issues.

Poor selection of food compared to other similar sized M and S store's.

An enjoyable experience shopping ..Lovely staff I think one is named Aiden.. and a lady had coloured hair..both wonderful personality so friendly smiles and makes you feel special..

Staff were friendly and helpful during my visit on Tuesday. Found some good bargains. It was so nice having an M&S dinner and dessert, which was absolutely delicious and worth every penny. Haven't been able to get to an M&S since just before lockdown, so really lovely treat.

I felt very safe shopping here. They have put in place great controls on numbers of shoppers and distancing. The staff are fantastic and helpful. Thank you all.

Lovely staff, very helpful. Food is very good especially the Madeira cake, and corned beef. Lovely selection of fruit and vegetables. We like their ready meals too.

Not a massive store but it has a little bit of everything. Cracking bread counter, lovely staff but a shame about the amount of plastic in all the fruit and processed food.

A small expensive store. Small quantities of products, high prices.

Great store. Wheelchair accessible. Great vegan/vegetarian range. You have to pay for parking but if you buy something in store they refund you your parking charge.

Hell on earth. Very limited selection.

I collected £90.50 worth of Christmas fayre, when I reached the till the cheese from one of the packs was missing, thanks to the alertness of a nice lady at the till who noticed it was missing. She rang for help, it was replaced at once. However when I got home there was cheese missing from the sealed pack. It could be said I should have noticed it, under the circumstances it was the last thing I was expecting. Very disappointed, I think this will be my last purchase at Christmas here In this store. Poor value for money. I hope I get a reply to this complaint!!!.

No eating place. Fancied coffee and cake but alas nowhere.

No deli. Shame as they had room, but they do sell some clothes instead ! Need to rethink and change the clothes to a deli which has been a great choice in other stores

Nice m&s, food section fairly small but found what I needed.

I love this place, ever since it opened. Half the staff are friendly and helpful and the other half are unapproachable and unhelpful. They do a good selection, but can be pricey. Take a good look for the bargains. Clothes are good but a little high priced, better quality I guess. Good selection of cards for birthdays, anniversaries etc. Easy queuing. Easy pay. Also if you park in their car park and bring in your ticket, you get the money back off your shopping. They have always done this, I hope it continues. Prawns here are absolutely amazing. I use to go in just for them if I was passing! Great arrangement of flowers. Bread section is really good, they have a inshore bakery so rolls and loafs are cooked daily. The smell is amazing. They sell baby clothes and other baby items. Perfumes, candles etc they sell.

I stopped at this store passing through on my way to Glastonbury, and I was not disappointed, as even though the food choices in the food hall are quite limited, I found some lovely choices from their Christmas range, and was served by a lovely warm and friendly member of staff without too much of a queue.

It's mostly a food hall but rather conservative in stock with few of the more interesting foods stocked at other stores, there are M&S stores in garages that have a better selection.
