The Cornish Bakery in Norwich

Unpleasant environment. Once sat I noticed how dirty and littered the floor was along with food crumbs spread across the bench seating areas. Plenty of staff to clean the floor and tables yet this has not been done. Coffee was very tasteless and overly milky, would even say a tad sour, an overpriced experience. Sat near the back kitchen and a slightly eggy smell is wafting into the seating area which just adds to the grubby feel in this place.

It felt really welcoming and warm from the moment we walked in. Smell of the freshly baked croissants and coffee definitely helped with decision making and we didn't regret it. Hot, tasty and refreshing coffee with a delicious pain au chocolate - were a very good beginning of the day. Quick and friendly service - we will definitely be back 😊

I came in to relax and read my book! The coffee was so good I had to keep going back up for seconds…. And thirds. The price wasn’t to bad either. Will definitely be going here again! Amazing service!

A warm welcome, very good service, nice fruit scones, espresso as good as Costa/Starbucks, and cheaper, very good luck to you, hope you do very well in Norwich

Stopped by for a quick coffee and croissant before work and enjoyed it a lot, no delays in being served. Enjoyed my hot and tasty coffee. Everything was the way I was hoping for. Thank you for a great start to a new day

Looks nice inside but my pasty was not great - meat chewy and not much flavour. Cafe was full but I suspect that’s because Greggs was shut!

Terrible ……cornish pastie cold my curry pasties was so over cooked I couldn’t bite into the pastry round the edges tables full of dirty trays waited 20 mins for our two cups of tea dreadful this is the second time it’s happened

Oh my word, what can I say! Quite an experience. Only ordered 2 coffees and a cake and had to wait 20 mins for the coffees, massive queue out of the door and total confusion about who had ordered what! Once our coffees were made, about 5 minutes later the barista was shouting out our order! No one collected it as we’d already received it. Quite comical in a way; but shouldn’t be that difficult surely! One woman in the queue was saying the same thing happened to her the week before.. If you have time to waste, then this is the place for you!

Amazing place to stop for a lunch while walking around the city. Thoroughly enjoyed the coffee with a fruit Danish. Great service, very quick and efficient. Lovely decor. It felt really warm and welcoming, definitely will be back

Nice food. Extremely slow service. Quick to take an order but making the dri ks shouldn't be that slow. With a queue waiting for drinks of over 10 people after payment, the staff should not just be making one drink then pause. Its very simple and easier to make up to 4 on a machine like they have. Think ahead. My pasty was stone cold as it was sitting out waiting for my drinks for 15 mins

Popped in for pasty and coffee, after it was recommended. Decor was nice and felt spacious but was not overly busy. Food served quickly by lovely young girl, and then it all became very frustrating, as waited 7 minutes for 2 coffees, while pasties went cold. Young lad, on coffee duty, spending too much time chatting with staff (both on duty and off) and not enough on doing on the job in hand. Looking at other reviews, this seems to be a common issue, and I’d not rush back unless I knew that something had changed.

Fantastic food and beverage offering but once you pay it goes wrong. Very slow on the drinks. Small ridiculous tables. Music too loud. Buzzers and alarms going off all the time. Overall effect is like being in a distribution centre surrounded by reversing forklifts.

Service very slow had ordered a pastie which sat around for 20mins while the coffee was made. The tray was placed on the counter at the back of the tills, sat there for awhile before being moved to the counter next to barista. It seemed there was no system he was very slow and only made drinks for the trays next to him. Pastie was not even luke warm . Its a shame as could be a good place to eat.

Had a traditional Cornish pastry, mediocre at its best, very blunt. Will not be making a trip anytime soon.

I had a beef pasty which was almost cold and had very little beef inside it. Will not visit there again

Popped in today in Norwich Wow what can I say. What a lovely place, a lovely choice of pastries, staff very warm and welcoming, was served by Louise, nothing was too much trouble. We had the croissants. They were lovely, buttery and not too flaky....

Such a cute cafe with very welcoming staff. Enjoyed a lovely coffee with a pretty pattern (made by Mia) and a really good pastie. Will be visiting again :)
