Lovely to return to The Cornerhouse. Food was fantastic and some great drinks on the menu. Friendly and attentive service from the team.

Celebrated mine and my sister’s 30th birthday here last week and was absolutely blown away. From the brown bread with whipped butter, to the veggie wellington and the brown bread and honeycomb ice cream, the food was some of the best I have had in a long while. Such a good vibe and our server, Mary, was the life and the soul of the party. Anytime I’m back in Canterbury I will try to visit - if I was a local this would be my new regular.

My wife booked the restaurant for my 67th birthday from TripAdvisor reviews and we was not disappointed the food was amazing the best steak I have ever had my wife had the pork belly and that was also amazing and out of the blue the waitresses came and song happy birthday with a scoop of ice cream with a candle and the ice-cream was ice-cream with brown bread mixed in absolutely amazing so thank you corner house Canterbury amazing staff

Absolutely charming hotel. The staff were genuinely wonderful, really happy to help at any time. The room was comfortable and cosy. You really can't get a better location if you want to visit the cathedral or local shops, restaurants, or bars.

We only dined at the restaurant, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy a meal. We opted for the two-person lamb dish, which was flavorful and well-cooked—a definite highlight of our visit. The prices lean towards the higher side, but that seems to be the norm for Canterbury. If you're looking for a cozy setting with good food, it's worth considering.

We recently visited The Corner House for my aunts 70th birthday. In one word WOW. The food was absolutely delicious. The Chateaubriand was amazing. Our waiter Seb was so friendly, polite and funny. He definitely made our evening a great night. If you’re visiting Canterbury this place is a must to visit. It was fabulous. Definitely a 5 out 5

We went on a Saturday afternoon and had an amazing three course lunch which was fantastic value for £25 a head!! Our children had given us a voucher for my husband’s birthday. We experienced wonderful service and exquisite food. Never had a bad meal at The Corner House and it’s one of our favourites!!

We stayed in the Chaucer room which was very nice though the bathroom was very small, with no room to put wash bags. Although the shower was very good. The tea & coffee supplied was good & it was nice to have proper milk & chilled water in the fridge. The continental breakfast delivered to the room was very nice. The room was in the back, so was fairly quiet. It was disappointing not being able to get a voucher for the nearby carpark as the computer system was down.

We slept there overnight in a bear concept room. Something was stunning. A room with a magical atmosphere, vintage and English. Everything is very well-designed. I took off a star because the room smelled a bit of mold. And besides, the floor of the room was crooked and it made me dizzy.

This was the first time I've visited the restaurant. The staff were very efficient & polite. The food was well presented, hot & very tasty. I will be booking again as soon as I visit my family in Canterbury. My grandson recommended we eat there as he's been several times. It was a great experience. Thank you.

Went for dinner on Valentines Day. Very attentive staff and excellent meal, with a good selection on the menu. Having had bad experiences elsewhere on Valentines night with restaurants that have tried to cram in too many tables, with limited menus and not enough staff, our meal at the Corner House was a very pleasant evening. Would thoroughly recommend.

The greeting was warm and friendly, the service prompt and professional, and the food…………was absolutely stupendous. The menu is sensibly short which usually means that everything is fresh and is freshly cooked which is obviously the case here. This was our third visit and for sure we will return.

Friendly and attentive service, food cooked to absolute perfection, great wine list (but the non-alcoholic sparkling rhubarb drink is fab too), a really great place and certainly worth recommending. Hope to visit again soon.

A really lovely restaurant with beautiful rooms. A fabulous breakfast was delivered which was such a treat. Kind and polite staff. I had a little problem with scaffolding outside my window which had been erected the day before so they hadn’t managed to warn me, when I mentioned it the staff were very responsive and understanding and generously cheered me up.

I took some valued clients here for dinner recently and I'm so glad I did. The food was amazing. I had the aubergine and sweet potato wellington and I flippin' loved it. We couldn't fault the service and several of those who attended said they'd definitely be back. The atmosphere is relaxed, it didn't feel hurried and the staff made sure we were topped up for drinks. I'll be back for sure!

We have stayed and dined at the corner house for the past 2 nights. We had an amazing experience, the room was spotless, dinner and lunch were amazing! Can’t take the staff enough they were lovely. Amazing place to stay or grab a bite!

Absolutely lovely. The rooms were quite good and maintained well. Breakfast sent to the room was very nice. The restaurant downstairs is one of the best if not the best in the area.

Me and my partner treated ourselves to the new years eve special menu and we were absolutly blown away with how incredible the entire evening was from the second we steped in - we were lucky enough to have a table with the kitchen view so we could see just how much care and passion goes into the cooking ❤️ we have been coming here for 7 years and have always had incredible food - this experience however was hands down the BEST dinner out we have ever had - If you want a wonderful evening with incredible food, fantastic cocktails and the loveliest atmosphere then head to The Corner House where you'll never be disappointed ❤️

The food was incredible, everything about it was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely, fresh milk and proper coffee. A stunning bathroom. The breakfast was all homemade and fresh. I love the fact it's delivered to our room. Will definitely be returning.

Best roast I have had in years! Well worth the price, The staff were excellent and very polite, We had the pork and crackling and it really was insanely good!!!! Parking just behind the restaurant and just a 2-3 minute walk away into town.

We had a great dinner for my partner’s birthday. Lovely staff (including the gentleman who predominantly served us) and excellent food. And zero judgment when I ordered the two person lamb shoulder for myself! Definitely worth checking out.

Would definitely recommend this restaurant. Delicious meal and very friendly welcoming staff. Our main waiter was Seb who looked after us really well. We felt at ease in the room we were in and loved that we had the room all to ourselves.

We dined here whilst staying elsewhere in Canterbury. I must admit to being somewhat disappointed. I felt the meal was overpriced for the quality of the food - we ate far better in Canterbury the following evening for about two thirds of the price. My starter was very small - I’d have liked significantly more smoked salmon for a tenner - and my turkey main was a little dry, with the fondant potato barely recognisable as such. The vegetables were delicious and the onion marmalade with my husband’s chicken liver parfait was to die for. The service was also friendly and attentive (although the concept of aperitifs was a little lost, with our starters arriving before our wine). All-in-all, a pretty average experience at a somewhat inflated price.

A really good meal on a cold and blustery evening. I can particularly recommend the duck and treacle tart. Service was excellent with a particular mention for Anna who was attentive and sensitive. Would definitely suggest a visit.

Great little hotel. Only 4 rooms. We stayed in the Chaucer room at the back. Very quaint and I would imagine Americans would love this place. Clean room. Bit noisy at night but they provide ear plugs just in case. The traffic can be noisy and busy as the hotel sits on a main road just out the city walls. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was very nice. Very handy location for visiting the shops and cathedral. The photo was taken early on a Sunday morning hence the lack of traffic.

A lovely restaurant in the heart of Canterbury. Nicely prepared and presented food; our main courses were the salmon and lamb shoulder, both of which were excellent. The building is interesting and we had seats overlooking the courtyard, which was delightful. Last but not least, the service was friendly and attentive. The lamb was dissected and served beautifully. An excellent restaurant and there aren’t too many of this calibre in Maidstone, which is our beck of the woods.

Wow wow wow! Absolutely amazing food! We have been to the corner house a few times so have eaten the Lamb, and beef roast and sides. The food was wonderful! We can’t wait for the next visit! Very friendly staff HIGHLY recommend!

Best meal I have had in ages. Thoroughly recommend the beef en croute and the homemade Christmas ice cream. Laid back and relaxed atmosphere and all the staff were friendly and super efficient. Wish we lived nearer.

A fabulous meal and, as always, great service in comfy, laid back surroundings. 3 of us shared olives and two starters, followed by salmon, duck confit and a turkey thigh take on Christmas dinner which was superb. For dessert we shared a treacle tart (unctuous to perfection) and honeycomb ice cream and blood orange sorbet. This is one of Canterbury's nicest and best places to eat..we have been here many times and never been disappointed.

We had Sunday roast in the climated terrace. We tried the pork and the beef one. Great service and totally worth price. I heavily recommend it! Also recomend the pistachio crème brûllé.

Went for lunch with my Mum, excellent service and very good value set menu. I had the flat iron steak with a side of delicious chips. Unfortunately my steak was overdone, I asked for medium but it was well done-I didn't mention it at the time-i'm sure they would have made me another if I made a fuss, but it was still OK. Mum had fish pie which she enjoyed. Treacle tart for desert was very good.

Some of the best dishes I have ever tasted. A beautiful setting, attentive staff. Great wine list with plenty of affordable options by the glass, designed for experimentation. But the food is by far the brightest star. The savoury blue cheese cheesecake with beetroot jam is the most stunning dish I have tasted this year; and the flavour will be something I remember for years to come. Everything was excellent, but also deserving of special mention was the dark chocolate torte with hazelnuts blackberry sorbet. A stunning mixture of flavours, executed perfectly.

We ate at the restaurant. The staff was very helpful in terms of menu suggestions, the food was fresh and well prepared. I don't usually like roasted carrots, but I loved theirs!

An absolutely superb Sunday lunch. We had the Beef Wellington, which was perfectly cooked, as were the vegetables and Yorkshire puddings. The home-baked bread was outstanding, and the service was as good as it gets. Our waiter made us feel completely at home, and even refused a more generous tip when we offered it (the service charge is only 10%). We look forward to our next visit!

Flawless. Lovely building great rooms, excellent food. Service top notch. The only thing to be aware of is the proximity to a main road, which you don't notice once you're in, and you have to use a subway under the road to get to the town centre. But this does not take away from the place itself.

Such a lovely greeting on arrival from Emma. We had a drink it the bar while we waiting for our friends. Two of us had the Roast Beef with all the trimmings which was cooked to perfection. Three had the Pork which they all enjoyed. They asked us if we wanted the gravy separate which we did. Desert was also very good a combination of Rum and Raison Ice cream, Honeycomb ice cream, Sticky toffee pudding and cheese cake. All very very good. Our Waiter Traklis was extremely Polite and helpful. We sat in the conservatory with a lovely view of the garden. Emma said if it was too cold she could close the door to the garden as she could see one of our friends was very frail. Please thank all the kitchen staff for there attention to detail. Another perfect Sunday Lunch.

Great choice of venue for our final meal of a 21st birthday weekend for a granddaughter. Modern, bright and airy, the seating, menu and service are very good.

Great overnight stay lovey staff fantastic room .was needing to place ballon’s etc in room before arriving more than happy to assist .Chaucer room nice and quite comfy bed great nights sleep. Lovely cosy restaurant with delicious good but the best thing about it was the great service! Very rare these days but the waiter was so attentive and my mother got a birthday card and candle on her pudding. Just how a lunch experience should be .... this place is a gem !

Myself and my boyfriend came to visit Canterbury and wanted to try Corner House as we used to come here when it was a pub! We experienced such lovely and friendly service with beautiful ambience and most importantly the food was banging! Was a special night, thank you!

We stayed at the Corner House for 2 nights and ate at the restaurant for one of those. When we first arrived, I was a little concerned about the location on a super busy road. But we had asked for a quiet room and we were very happy with our cozy and quiet room. The location was excellent, right outside the city walls. A Continental breakfast was served to our door each morning which was just right for us. The Corner House is loaded with charm and our only regret was that it was too cold to sit in their lovely courtyard. The restaurant was excellent! Our server was delightful and the food was creative and absolutely delicious. I chose the Corner House because it was unique and for it's location and excellent restaurant reviews. Even if you don't choose to stay in this quirky and character inn, I highly recommend booking dinner!

We had a great meal and good wine. Steak was perfect, pork loin melted and the sauces were very good. Good wine choice and some different digestives. All reasonably priced.

Perfect location, good food (including breakfast in the room) and well-furnished rooms

It is off the beaten track so tourists who want to eat in this place must look for it, like we did. And it's not a fruitless search. Excellent food and cider, with impeccable service. Only the draft beer doesn't particularly stand out, but it's a minor sin compared to the rest.

The location is very central in Canterbury and we could walk around from there to all the sights. The food and service were great in this fantastic old building. The only drawback is the noise of traffic but the windows worked!

A bit pricey for me, but having said that if you have a bit of money then this is the place for you. Great atmosphere, fab outside area and friendly staff.

Absolutely fantastic food. We just wanted to get something small, but then we got carried away with an old fashion one. From the homemade bread to the gazpacho to the main course to the homemade ice cream, everything was delicious.

Excellent Sunday lunch in Canterbury

The rooms are well equipped, everything is extremely modern in a house that is over 400 years old. Everything has charm, plus a hospitality that is second to none. Breakfast is brought to your room. We really thought everything was great and the price was reasonable. The small hotel is very close to the city center!

ChatGPT recommended this place so we came to explore. Had a late lunch. Service was perfect, kind. Food was ok. We sat outside the weather was great. We had a cocktail, gazpacho soup and the couple platter with the iron steak, chicken and lamp. Comes with vegetables and more. The steak was not medium and I’ve had better dishes but the place was beautiful and enjoyable for our short visit.

We had an amazing roast dinner for Sunday lunch here. The food was delicious and the service was excellent - most notably from our lovely waitress, Rachel!

We went for a late lunch on a Saturday. Both the food and the service were perfect. Is a little on the expensive side, but at least it met out expectations.

Lovely find in Canterbury. Fantastic interior. Friendly welcoming staff. We both had a roast dinner and can honestly say the roast dinner was by the far the best we've ever had, down to the meat and then all the trimmings. Service good. It was more expensive then the average pub sunday roast, but you pay for what you get and believe me its worth it.

Phenomenal food !!! We tried Beef Wellington and BBQ platter for 2 and both were outstanding! One of the best meals in UK! Note to the manager and chef - raise the quality of your chips (fries) - that is the only thing that did not match up to your quality and standard.

We ate here for an early dinner before going on to the Marlowe. Although the tables inside were fine, we chose to eat outside at the back, in a pleasantly landscaped courtyard. The traffic was less intrusive here. We were all very happy with the food. It was difficult to choose what to eat. Within our party we had a tender steak, monkfish, crab tart with guacamole and pork belly, all cooked perfectly and served with a smile. We will have to go back to sample more on the varied menu.

Been a few times now for dinner at this restaurant. The service is spot on, staff lovely, food amazing. Great for couples or a family meal. Definitely a 'must do' when I am in Canterbury.

Delicious Sunday roast and lovely service!

We had such a lovely stay! Our room was cozy with a comfy bed! We relaxed and slept well. The hotel is not located in the city center but you can easily reach all the major interest points in a few minutes. We had no chance to try the restaurant but I am quite sure that the food would have been delicious. Finally, if I have to say one thing, maybe breakfast should be slightly improved. But overall, I would definitely come back :)

Came with a large group, mixed experiences in the group. Some found that staff touchy but other members of the group found them humourous. The food was passable. Limited options for veggie and vegan. The sticky toffee pudding was dry. Lamb flat breads were dry. Hardly any butter on the bread and butter. Mixed grill was flavourless and meat could of been cooked better. The chips were pretty good.

Rather unspectacular from the outside, it's even more beautiful on the inside. We were able to sit in the garden and were served wonderfully and courteously. The menu is small but nice Everything very tasty and fresh English cooking 2.0

Not good. The uncomfortable mattress meant five and a half hours of sleep, so pls avoid this place if you have back problems. The gallery on their website shows a cafetiere in each room. Great, I thought before I got there - but not so, because they don't provide coffee at all. Just sachets of decaf instant "coffee"and various tea bags. When will hotels stop penny pinching and give guests fresh coffee! Even Wetherspoons and McDonald's don't expect their customers to drink instant. So, the cafetiere is completely pointless unless you bring your own ground coffee. There was no bedside table, just a little ledge taken up with a bedside lamp which I couldn't use because the switch was behind the headboard. I had to put my phone on the floor. The air conditioning didn't work. The sound on the TV was wrong. Breakfast was good quality but very high in carbs and somewhat low in protein and I felt uncomfortable consuming sugary food first thing in the morning. The room was nicely decorated and clean, but it doesn't make up for everything else.

My husband booked dinner and an overnight stay here for our anniversary. We attended our dinner and WOW what a meal we had!! The food was amazing, we had a sharing starter, Beef Wellington for main and sharing dessert. The Beef Wellington was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. All the different flavours in all the dishes was mouth watering. Customer service was amazing, all the staff knew what they were serving us when we asked. Our room was lovely. The only downfall and reason why it lost a star was because the mattress was not comfortable at all, it dipped on one side and was bedframe creaked everytime you moved in the bed, therefore we didn't get a great night's sleep. To end the trip we had a lovely breakfast brought up to our room in the morning.

Excellent food and drink. Excellent service, attentive without being rushed, we had time to enjoy all courses. Would 100% recommend.
