We stayed in the Chaucer room which was very nice though the bathroom was very small, with no room to put wash bags. Although the shower was very good. The tea & coffee supplied was good & it was nice to have proper milk & chilled water in the fridge. The continental breakfast delivered to the room was very nice. The room was in the back, so was fairly quiet. It was disappointing not being able to get a voucher for the nearby carpark as the computer system was down.

We slept there overnight in a bear concept room. Something was stunning. A room with a magical atmosphere, vintage and English. Everything is very well-designed. I took off a star because the room smelled a bit of mold. And besides, the floor of the room was crooked and it made me dizzy.

Went for dinner on Valentines Day. Very attentive staff and excellent meal, with a good selection on the menu. Having had bad experiences elsewhere on Valentines night with restaurants that have tried to cram in too many tables, with limited menus and not enough staff, our meal at the Corner House was a very pleasant evening. Would thoroughly recommend.

The greeting was warm and friendly, the service prompt and professional, and the food…………was absolutely stupendous. The menu is sensibly short which usually means that everything is fresh and is freshly cooked which is obviously the case here. This was our third visit and for sure we will return.

A really lovely restaurant with beautiful rooms. A fabulous breakfast was delivered which was such a treat. Kind and polite staff. I had a little problem with scaffolding outside my window which had been erected the day before so they hadn’t managed to warn me, when I mentioned it the staff were very responsive and understanding and generously cheered me up.

I took some valued clients here for dinner recently and I'm so glad I did. The food was amazing. I had the aubergine and sweet potato wellington and I flippin' loved it. We couldn't fault the service and several of those who attended said they'd definitely be back. The atmosphere is relaxed, it didn't feel hurried and the staff made sure we were topped up for drinks. I'll be back for sure!

We dined here whilst staying elsewhere in Canterbury. I must admit to being somewhat disappointed. I felt the meal was overpriced for the quality of the food - we ate far better in Canterbury the following evening for about two thirds of the price. My starter was very small - I’d have liked significantly more smoked salmon for a tenner - and my turkey main was a little dry, with the fondant potato barely recognisable as such. The vegetables were delicious and the onion marmalade with my husband’s chicken liver parfait was to die for. The service was also friendly and attentive (although the concept of aperitifs was a little lost, with our starters arriving before our wine). All-in-all, a pretty average experience at a somewhat inflated price.

Great little hotel. Only 4 rooms. We stayed in the Chaucer room at the back. Very quaint and I would imagine Americans would love this place. Clean room. Bit noisy at night but they provide ear plugs just in case. The traffic can be noisy and busy as the hotel sits on a main road just out the city walls. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was very nice. Very handy location for visiting the shops and cathedral. The photo was taken early on a Sunday morning hence the lack of traffic.

A lovely restaurant in the heart of Canterbury. Nicely prepared and presented food; our main courses were the salmon and lamb shoulder, both of which were excellent. The building is interesting and we had seats overlooking the courtyard, which was delightful. Last but not least, the service was friendly and attentive. Some of the best dishes I have ever tasted. A beautiful setting, attentive staff. Great wine list with plenty of affordable options by the glass, designed for experimentation. But the food is by far the brightest star. The savoury blue cheese cheesecake with beetroot jam is the most stunning dish I have tasted this year; and the flavour will be something I remember for years to come. We stayed at the Corner House for 2 nights and ate at the restaurant for one of those. When we first arrived, I was a little concerned about the location on a super busy road. But we had asked for a quiet room and we were very happy with our cozy and quiet room. The location was excellent, right outside the city walls. A Continental breakfast was served to our door each morning which was just right for us. The Corner House is loaded with charm and our only regret was that it was too cold to sit in their lovely courtyard. The restaurant was excellent! Not good. The uncomfortable mattress meant five and a half hours of sleep, so pls avoid this place if you have back problems. The gallery on their website shows a cafetiere in each room. Great, I thought before I got there - but not so, because they don't provide coffee at all. Just sachets of decaf instant "coffee"and various tea bags. When will hotels stop penny pinching and give guests fresh coffee! Even Wetherspoons and McDonald's don't expect their customers to drink instant. So, the cafetiere is completely pointless unless you bring your own ground coffee. There was no bedside table, just a little ledge taken up with a bedside lamp which I couldn't use because the switch was behind the headboard. I had to put my phone on the floor. The air conditioning didn't work. The sound on the TV was wrong. Breakfast was good quality but very high in carbs and somewhat low in protein and I felt uncomfortable consuming sugary food first thing in the morning. The room was nicely decorated and clean, but it doesn't make up for everything else.

All the different flavours in all the dishes was mouth watering. Customer service was amazing, all the staff knew what they were serving us when we asked. Our room was lovely. The only downfall and reason why it lost a star was because the mattress was not comfortable at all, it dipped on one side and was bedframe creaked everytime you moved in the bed, therefore we didn't get a great night's sleep. To end the trip we had a lovely breakfast brought up to our room in the morning.

We booked here after reading some excellent reviews and we left disappointed. The main courses were nice but the starter was nothing special and way too overpriced for the food you get. The service was poor, the guy who was serving our table as soon as we arrived seemed really annoyed, definitely not welcoming. Then a lady took over and she seemed nicer. My partner found lipstick on his wine glass. £154 for 3 people plus a toddler (3 mains, 1 starter, 2 glasses of wine, 1 beer and a toddler menu) and they serve tap water. If you want to overcharge people, you should have better standards. They added the service charge on the bill without even asking and we asked for it to be removed, the audacity of adding the service charge (about £15 extra) when you're given a dirty glass to drink from was insulting. We won't be going back, there're plenty of places in Canterbury that serve much better food for half of the price. Cote in town is on a completely different level for fine dining compared to this one, we should have sticked to that! And they also have the class to give you the option to add the service charge when paying the bill instead, even though they totally deserve it every time!

Both she and her colleague attending to the front of house offered a first class service and we were all impressed with the product knowledge of both food and wines. The Corner House never disappoints, the ambience is friendly without over familiarity, the food is delicious, the choice of drinks from cocktails to wine is exactly right. We enjoyed a superb lunch, the starters were terrific, I especially enjoyed the Tea Smoked Duck - exquisite and my wife thought her Mackerel pate was fantastic. For mains we shred a roast shoulder of lamb, perfectly cooked and so tender. I had a large glass of Balfour's Pinot Noir which complemented the roast perfectly - you would have to pay a lot more for the Burgundy version to equal the glass I had. Super attentive and friendly service from start to finish.

Absolutely fabulous food as always. Had a light early dinner of sharing starters, salad and chips. The sizzling prawns were phenomenal. All dishes we had were fresh and full of flavour. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The dog was treated like a little King! All in all a lovely dining experience. Obviously as most places dogs only allowed in bar area so atmosphere score was lower than everything else as it’s just a standard pub feel. Restaurant area is lovely though.

Our server Cj was really welcoming and on the ball for checking if we were having a good time.

Had champagne afternoon tea. Staff were lovely, left us alone to chat but probably could have come over sooner to ask if we needed anything, sandwiches were tasty but the bread had dried out a bit and they had left the crusts on. Not what you expect. Scones and cakes were delicious though. I would recommend as ok and hope the bread was better.
