The Corner House in Carlisle

Friends birthday at work , so my boss organised afternoon tea at work, absolutely delicious , definitely will be having again .

I ordered the Christmas Afternoon Tea for 2 for my Grandparents who live in Carlisle, I am from Reading. This was a perfect Christmas treat for them, the lady I spoke to on the phone was sooo helpful and ensured it would be delivered for a small fee. It arrived on the date I chose and the time slot was between 11 and 2. Definitely recommend this place and I haven't even been there! Thank you so much, very happy with the service.

Booked a delivery of afternoon tea for this afternoon following a recommendation by a family member and was highly delighted with it. Arrives nicely packed in a box, lovely fresh selection of sandwiches, tasty quiche, sausage rolls, delicious scones with nice packs of butter, jam, cream and some yummy cakes. Great value for money, would definitely book again.

Had afternoon tea delivered on Saturday it was delicious and very good value for money. I would highly recommend it x

Always such a warm welcome at the Corner House. Food and service are excellent. Parking is available. Would highly recommend this lovely place.

Booked my buffet with Janette, she was recommended by a friend when I was looking for a caterer.Went into the busy cafe to chat about numbers food etc & then when I got home I changed my mind about some of the foods I had decided on, I sent janette a message & this was not a problem at all, she said she would change it.I confirmed number & fillings with her & she was always very polite & helpful.On the night of my party she delivered the food to the cricket club(extra charge) & it was all ready & waiting with just the lids to take off for it to be served.The food was lovely & everyone enjoyed it, there was plenty for everyone & everyone commented on how nice it all was.Would highly recommend for a buffet & I would definitely use janette again.Thank you janette Nicola

Just had afternoon tea here for my friends baby shower it was amazing so much food & so much variety, the staff were very friendly and helpful, we want to try the breakfast next!

Fantastic food and fabulously friendly service. We had a jacket potato and a sausage sandwich... followed by a brownie. Recommended.

They catered for 40 people at my grandsons christening last weekend, service was impeccable and food well presented and tasty. Homemade quiche was delicious as were the scones. Very amenable staff and would definitely recommend.

My fiancée and I went in for a take away lunch. The food was really nice, the place was clean and tidy and the service was great too, they even held the door open for me on my way out.

Friend had wedding buffet at a cost if 800 pounds the quality was very poor and certainly not enough food to cater for 150 people wet quiche and sandwiches to cover no more than 80 people. The bride had ti get her friend to go to her local.premises to bring more food for guest .stay clear unless your just wanting cup of tea and cakes in there cafe as for a function unless you want your guest to be disappointed stay clear .

I took my mum and my daughter who’s only 1 here for an early Mother’s Day afternoon tea.Really helpful staff from the off! Booked and paid over the phone in advance (you know what mums are like!).We went for the deluxe afternoon tea and so glad we did! There was so much food, all homemade to perfection! The cakes were absolutely amazing!Can’t wait to visit again next time I’m back in Carlisle!

Fab friendly little cafe to sit in or take away. Freshly cooked, tasty and great service. Cakes were lovely too! A real homely feel about the place.

The Corner House is a lovely little cafe, they have no problem catering for gluten free as a member of the family is coeliac. We opted for afternoon tea which was very reasonably priced at £9.95 per person. My gluten free version was served totally separate to my husband's normal one, & consisted of a very varied selection of sandwiches, a home made cream scone & 2 home made cakes. It's a basic little cafe with very good quality home made food

The Attitude of the Staff is absolutely FIRST CLASS !! Couldn't make you feel more welcome and they are attentive to your every need.

Have to say the staff were fabulous and helpful. The Corner House provided an excellent spread for our event (especially recommend the mini quiches!). Would absolutely recommend them, whether for a business or a private event

Unhelpful staff, more interested in their own conversation than paying attention to the customer. But if this doesn't bother you then give it a try

Great arrival lovely staff ready delivery afternoon tea at 11.30(book in) on table without order or else just ask tea or coffee. Nice quiet environment. Range sandwiches then range cake n one scones we decide start small then medium n large cake. Big teapot perfect. Staff remind us how get on perfect customer services.

Very friendly pleasant staff nothing too much trouble. Lovely afternoon tea, plenty of variety and quantity, took some of it home with us. Later on when we had the lovely looking cupcake this was the let down. The sponge was very thin, not even filing half the paper cake and then having masses of buttercream swirled on top being well out of proportion to the actual sponge. A real shame

Lovely place and very welcomg staff. Handy parking too, would recommend a visit. Food was delicious and variety great, cakes are amazing too.

Went for breakfast this morning and it was the nicest breakfast I have had for a long time. The Corner House is clean with friendly welcoming staff and the food is excellent.

I regularly pass this small cafe which is close to my home so after doing some shopping I decided to try their breakfast. It even has a car park a real plus in my opinion. The inside is clean has lots of light and super friendly staff.

Just got back from spending the weekend in Carlisle stayed at the corner house. Was made welcome, nice rooms, very comfortable beds & breakfast was lovely. Will definitely stay again.

I recently visited this little cafe. I ordered a breakfast and it did not disappoint. Generous serving with quality meat.

Eating in or out.. very wide choice of salads, quiches, sandwiches, baguettes; hot or cold... extremely good value. May get into the habit of a mid-morning cooked breakfast (9.30 start currently).. looks like the best value around.

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea for a fraction of the cost expected elsewhere. The food was fresh, tasty and plentiful perfectly homemade. The staff were very pleasant and I would highly recommend this place to anybody, it's great to know there's somewhere local that has such a great atmosphere.
