We were delighted to find The Corner Cupboard by chance and were so happy we did. We were welcomed by a lovely waitress called Amanda, great friendly service. All the food was delicious and homemade by Chef Callum. We would definitely visit again when in the area. Thank you for a lovely relaxing lunch.

Booked in for Friday night dinner at the last minute. Arrived a little earlier than the reservation time but were made to feel welcome and shown to our table. The waitress was clearly very busy as there were a number of large bookings to manage at the same time, but she made extra time to communicate and explain to us why there was a slight delay in service, which was much appreciated. A little explanation went a long way - although we wouldn't have noticed any delay anyway. Our dinner was good, honest, home cooked food, which was well presented and cooked impeccably, without extra fuss and pretention. We were impressed by the efficiency of the service despite how busy the kitchen and front of house staff were. A large table opposite of American tourists were similarly very complimentary to the staff as well. Would recommend if you want a solid and hearty meal in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

We booked the Corner Cupboard at the last minute for our first dinner in the Cotswolds. Rachel was very welcoming and couldn’t have been more helpful to amend the menu to all our fussy requirements, as well as keeping us all very amused throughout the evening. By the end we were all incredibly well fed and still laughing, something not easily achieved with two teenagers! Although a few more vegetarian options would be appreciated and an updated menu to reflect the actual menu would be good, we had a very enjoyable meal. Thank you Rachel and the chef for a lovely evening.

Place is just like I remembered it, last drank here in 2017 and the place still holds all the great memories sat drinking in this pub. Cracking pint of guinness and lovely chips. Sat out in the garden and enjoyed the brilliant music being pumped out that everyone one else was enjoying too, barman even let us put on our own requests to listen to as well!

Slightly bizarre experience. Service was prompt if a little unfriendly. My food was not good. It did not include a key item and when I complained I was told that I was wrong (I wasn't) and that their food is the the best in the area (it isn't). I didn't want a refund, just an apology. It's a shame, this was my third visit in 2 years but the first since the new management took over. Previously it had been a great place, I hope that my experience was just "teething troubles"

The service was very good as was the food. The portions were very large so you felt you were getting good value for your money. We were visiting the area but from what people were saying, it is very much used by locals which is always a good sign. Will definitely return.

I honestly don’t understand the good reviews. My husband and I had to find the funny side. We came in, no lights on, no music completely lifeless. Waitress eventually came over to give us menus (heavy breathing in my husbands ear) We had to order drinks at the bar. We ordered our food, she said “people come far and wide for our fish and chips” umm….i highly doubt it. Our food arrived, probably the most basic food I’ve ever received. Our 1 year old even refused to eat it. No extra drinks were offered. We were the only people in the restaurant so bad service was unnecessary. We watched the staff chat at the back of the restaurant for our entire meal. The “chef” was in her tracksuit smoking her vape. I really hate to leave bad reviews but if you love good food please don’t waste your time. The whole place made us feel abit sick

What a fab little place. The bar on the way in from the front was bustling to the point you couldn’t move, after shuffling through we realised we could’ve come in the back garden entrance. The staff were absolutely lovely, thei one lady I can’t remember her name was so thoughtful to our old dog. Got her a blanket for the floor so she wouldn’t be cold whilst we ate. We came in for dinner and it didn’t disappoint, so much so that we booked in for Sunday Lunch. Honestly I’m not sure who they have hiding in the kitchen but it’s someone magical, every bite was just a delicious as the next. Can’t wait to visit again.

A lovely friendly pub with great food and excellent staff. My friends and I had a nice lunch here and returned the next night for an excellent dinner! I unwittingly dropped my purse while at the Corner Cupboard and didn't miss it until the next day. I was looking for somewhere to meet up with my children over the festive period. After a short search on Tripadvisor I found the Corner Cupboard. I was the first to arrive and was greeted warmly by the staff. I said a small group of us would be eating and they moved tables to accommodate us. A fine selection of real ales and a well stocked bar. When my children and partners arrived we settled down to great choices on the menu. We were not rushed to choose and soaked in the atmosphere of the place. We had the Liver and Bacon, a ploughman’s, lasagne, fish and chips and ham egg and chips. All well presented and tasty. No complaints! A couple of us went for the dessert menu and were not disappointed by the sticky toffee pudding, a generous portion of light sponge with loads of custard. A good value meal, good drinks choice, lovely attentive staff makes this a definite go to place for anyone looking to eat or drink whilst in the area. I’m looking forward to returning one day.

Popped in for an evening drink with my two sons, having been at the Christmas market(?) in the town. The olde worlde exterior with its (currently) Christmas trees drew us in. It's similarly charming inside, with friendly locals and helpful staff. There's a great selection of beer too, with a nice pint of London Pride, but also more contemporary stuff such as Neck Oil and Peroni. Archetypal English pub; if that's what you like, visit.

We’ve eaten here before and always had a good experience. With this in mind we wanted to have a lunchtime meal here with friends after a planned walk. When trying out the walk last Monday we called in at The Corner Cupboard for a quick drink only to be told that it was closed due to a private function (a funeral wake) and that it didn’t usually open on Monday anyway, despite being advertised on their website as being open from 10.00 until midnight Monday to Saturday. With that in mind I called the pub and booked a table for today (Thursday) at 1.15. Apparently 1.00 wasn’t available. We turned up ten minutes early and ordered drinks from the bar. When the polite waitress came to see us she said that there would be quite a wait for food because three tables were still to order. Unfortunately they’d had three or four ‘walk-ins’ but they would be able to feed us. I’m at a loss to see the point of booking tables if they are going to give preference to customers who just walk in off the street. Your contact number is requested on booking I assume so they can contact you if you are late or don’t turn up. Anyway we drank up, left and sadly doubt we shall ever return. On the positive side the beer was well kept and very tasty.

Love the surroundings in this beautiful ancient pub/ restaurant. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Due to Covid they had the door open which made the restaurant feel cold, but one of the staff kindly got me a blanket. I also ordered a hot fruit infusion, and whilst the new member of staff didnt know whether they served them he went to find out and thankfully I was shown a draw full of different tea/infusion boxes to choose from. Great service. The food was delicious, freshly made and not expensive. I had the appetizer cod and chips, I asked if I could have the chunky chips off the larger menu and it wasn't a problem. The chips were piping hot, crisp on the outside and soft in the centre, perfect. They have also sought to put people at ease eating in a restaurant during Covid and have put up screens to separate dinners. They also have mini easels with a note to say that the table has been sanitized. My husband says the beer was great and was introduced to the germans concoction of Butty bach and another nutty ale as half and half which he loved. Would definitely recommend this place. Cricketing fans will love all the memorabilia and art too.

When we asked a waitress if we could sit somewhere and get food she was very rude in her response saying that she would 'have to' bring it through to wherever we were sat. Eventually we saw a waiter and asked if he could seat us in the restaurant area, we were told to wait for someone else to serve us. He eventually came back to seat us. We sat down for 5 minutes, were given no menus, no acknowledgement again, gave up and walked out. Very poor service.

We were a group, walking from Greet to Cheltenham, and stopped here for a drink. After a colleague had been served it was my turn, and I ordered two pints of beer. When they were served I tendered a £10 note, and the barman said, "You'll need more than that." I asked why, and he told me that he had only charged my colleague for one pint of beer when he had served him two, so I had to pay for the other. In turn, I reminded the barman that I had ordered two pints of beer, which he had served me, so I should only pay for two. I was supported by two men who were obviously regulars, but the barman would not back down, and told me to sort it out with my colleague. For his imputence we drank our beer and went elsewhere for a second beverage.

On another note the building is absolutely beautiful, a lovely pub with a lovely garden area.

We each had a steak, and both were cooked perfectly. The red wine we chose was also delicious. I was talked into having a dessert by our friendly and very funny waitress Rachel, and I was happy that I had been. Also delicious. We were then introduced by Rachel to two local characters in the bar, and we had a thoroughly entertaining evening. I can recommend a pint of Bob ale. One of the best nights out we had in Winchcombe

We ate here twice and could find no fault with food or the friendly service. Particularly recommended is the beef and ale stew.

Really disappointed with our meal here. Nice welcome from the waitress and beautiful decor, but food was bland and very disappointing. Reasonable pricing though.

Visited here on 23 May. Gorgeous interior, so was expecting similar in the food line. Very disappointed. I ordered a Sudeley Chicken which said it was in a garlic sauce. Yummy, I thought! The chicken and vegetables in it were well cooked, but, there was no flavour to any of it which was very disappointing. My friend had the bangers and mash which was also tasteless even the onion gravy. Such a shame as the pub had been recommended to us.

My wife and I stopped in here on a Wednesday night in late April 2019 for a shared dessert and a couple of soft drinks. We had a treacle and stem ginger tart with custard, plus a ginger beer and a sparking water. The dessert was absolutely fabulous! We got a taste of pub life and bartender good humored fun here as well. Everyone provided great service. Our bill was £9.05 which seemed fine.

Further away from the centre of Winchcombe we nearly missed finding this lovely little pub whilst exploring the town. Clearly well loved by the locals but offering a sincere welcome to weary travellers. Whilst enjoying a drink in the snug little back room, we were impressed by the large, cheerfully lit dining area at the back and a very tempting menu.

Visited the pub with 3 friends. Excellent service and food very good and very reasonably priced. We each had a different meal and all cooked well and to a high standard whilst being very reasonably priced. Worth the trip for the friendly welcome and general banter from the waitress, Rachel. We look forward to a return visit very soon.

Visited the pub with 3 friends a few evenings ago at the last minute and we were so pleased we chose The Corner Cupboard. A very welcome from the waitress and barman. We were just in time to be able to qualify for the early evening special deals at a very reasonable price. The standard was certainly as high as that showed with the higher priced menu. The food was prepared when ordered and of a high quality and presentation. We each chose something different mousaka ham egg and chips risotto and cod chips and peas - the latter thought to be the best he had ever had by an expert in having fish and chips for many years! Will certainly return to this pub and recommend it to friends. The only waitress was kept very busy all the time but did her job with a smile cheerfulness and efficiency

Walked to Winchcombe from Alderton along the Winchcombe Way, so were ready for food when we got there. Only wanted snacks, so we all ordered baguettes with various fillings. Came with salad and chips, really really lovely and excellent value. Dog friendly.

We booked in for a meal here during half term with our dog. The pub is very pretty and has a real authentic charm to it. The staff were generally friendly but the food was sadly really terrible. We all had bangers and mash very much at gastropub level prices but what came was very much greasy spoon. The sausages were clearly cheap and low on meat and served on lumpy mash with a horrible salty sludgy gravy which made the sad soggy beans underneath inedible. We ate what we could and went for dessert as we were all still hungry. The brownies were pretty good but the treacle and ginger tart was pretty nasty and the cheesecake had a very strange rubbery texture. To top it all off during our meal a member of staff came and sat at the table next to our children so he could have a good 10 minute chat with other members of staff at the table next to us which was pretty intrusive and not really what you would expect.

The place is lovely and very cosy. The staff were very good, maybe not as welcoming as they could be, looked busy but we were the only ones there. We joined them for Breakfast, coffee was luke warm and the tap water smelt and tasted weird. We had two lots of poached eggs which were priced at £6.50 each. We had one piece of sourdough toast and two poached eggs. The toast was not buttered! That's a hell of a price for that. We had to ask for butter which was provided, but surely should be necessary. We also had a lady with mobility issues with us. She had called ahead and was told that there was a ramp, which was great. Until she got there and parked and the ramp was on the front of the property, quite a distance from the car park. She had a real struggle to get in on her own as she could not make it around the front, so she had to make it up the precarious steps with her wheeled trolley. I think this should be looked at and improved so the property is easily accessible from the car park. Overall, would not recommend which is a shame as I have been before and it was nice, but this time, the food and drink was poor.

Very disappointed, walked into the counter. I asked for a sausage bap. Was sent back to find it in the fridge. Staff didn't help just served the people that had later arrived. Putting me at the back of the queue.. RUDE.
