Food dreadful! Pizza burnt and solid, kids spaghetti napolitana tasted like a tin of chopped tomatoes. Probably the worst quality meal out we’ve had in the last few years…sorry…work to be done!

As we were staying in the hotel we had lunch and dinner here the first day. My husband had Moules frites (twice) which he raved about. My choice was 3 small plates £10. Unfortunately I feel that they were bought froze. Crumbed prawns were mushy, the Mango chicken skewers didn’t taste of mango. The chorizo bites were nice enough though.

We we’re visiting the area for the weekend. Our family have few dietary allergies and I usually spend a lot time finding a good please where we dont get sick. That being said we arrived late to our reservation (gps lost) but when we got there they were so good to us. Our table was ready for a toodler(high chair) and aditional space for our newborn. The food was excellent and they had a lot alternatives ( gluten free).

We visit whenever we come to Bournemouth to our timeshare apartments, and always have a lovely meal. My cod was cooked beautifully and husband had duck breast which was just as he had asked. Tempura prawn starter was delicious and my creme brulee dessert yummy. Good wines and attentive, caring staff. Well worthy of the drive from our hotel, where the restaurant food is not in the same league.

I ate here with my partner last week and can safely say that i was thoroughly disappointed. The menu (especially starters) offered little choice so I expected the food to be excellent however i was wrong.I had prawn cocktail to start and expected it to have a unique twist or something that made it stand out but it was just a prawn cocktail that i could have put together myself. The main was also disappointing. The duck looked and tasted like one i would expect to get from a takeaway restaurant. The risotto tasted like it was from a packet and i found it strange that there was gravy as well as risotto. The one thing i will say is that the staff are very attentive and could not do more for us.Such a shame as I was expecting a lovely meal but I will not be returning.

The Conservatory Restaurant is an excellent restaurant inside of the Riviera Hotel in Alum Chine on the Bournemouth Poole border. The Restaurant has a fantastic panoramic view with woodland on one side then a sea view that includes the western side of the Isle of Wight. On a clear evening you get a beautiful sunset.I have used the restaurant a few times now, every time we have had an excellent meal with plenty of choice on the menu. The staff are all very polite, professional and have looked after us very well. There is also a very reasonably priced selection of wine. As locals we have only used the Conservatory up to now in the autumn and winter, but will probably give it go in the summer, this will be the real test when the hotel is full of holiday makers, my guess is that they will maintain their standards.

Simply had to write this today as we dined here for lunch 5 of us and it was great. Service excellent , food fantastic and one of the best Sunday roasts I have had out as well cooked and fresh and presentation great. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived and it is in a hotel so I think many miss it but I can tell you we will return and it is a hidden gem. The staff also are so friendly and helpful and really look after you. So glad we came here and our family were very impressed. My tip is drive to this place or walk up the hill at Alum Chine as we'll worth it and very reasonable prices.

On a four-night stay at a guest house on Alum Chine we actually choose to visit this restaurant twice, partly because it was very handy for our guest house and partly because it was very good. We visited after dark but there are probably sea views to be had from the airy conservatory part of the restaurant. The menu is a fixed-price table d'hote three-course affair with five choices for each course. The choices change regularly. Food is of good quality, well-cooked and well-presented. On both visits we were asked if we would like more potatoes and vegetables. Staff were friendly, polite and efficient, and food arrived as quickly as it is possible for freshly-prepared dishes to appear. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I Had a burger meal, wife had cajun chicken. My bbq burger was delicious with French fries and jalapeño coleslaw which was very spicy too much so for my wife who couldn't eat it so watch out for the coleslaw, would be good to have choice of normal coleslaw. My wife's cajun chicken was ok with warm mustard potato salad and trimmings, all the food was nice, but there was meager portions, making it quite expensive for what you get, felt hungry a hour later. However staff were excellent and the views of the sea were good.

We didn’t stay in the hotel, just ate there and I can honestly say this was truly one of the nicest meals we have eaten in Bournemouth (and we dine our regularly)For starters we had Pea and Truffle soup and Fois Gras yummy........ And for mains we both had Pork Belly (I never choose Pork when we eat out) and this was absolutely delicious the skin was crispy, the meat succulent, the dauphinoise potatoes were beautiful and the presentation for all 3 dishes was first class. For desert we had white chocolate bread and butter pudding and a vanilla parfait with honeycomb candy again beautifully presented and the taste was sensational. The decor in the dining room could be updated granted, but we had a nice view of the sea in the distance and the waiting staff were very attentive. The menu is a set one when you have a choice of 5 starters 5 mains and 5 deserts and this changes regularly which could be a gamble if you don’t mind not knowing the menu in advanced (I usually need to know what’s on the menu as I am a fussy eater) but I took the plunge and am so happy I did because all 3 courses were 5* at a very reasonable price and will definitely be going back. Hats off to the chefs delicious food great service a real undiscovered little gem.

Lovely decoration and garden at the back. Sometimes it is too crowded and tables too close to each other, which can be uncomfortable with close loud conversations or people getting passed moving or tripping on your chair. I ordered a Chai latte with skinny milk, I was served one with whole milk which they kindly swapped when I told them, however they made the second Chai with semi skimmed, which I can't tolerate and on top of that it was tasteless, very milky and unpleasant, something slightly sweet, no Chai. I just left it as I just wasn't going to ask them to change my hot drink again!. I know what skinny milk taste like, semi and whole milk make me sick, so I left the drink untouched and paid £3.80 for it. It was horrible. Why not to just aknowledge they do not have skinny milk? Why lie to your customers? Very disappointing.

The setting is very basic and the food, while filling, isn’t anything more than average. Don’t expect much in terms of flavour or barista-quality coffee. It’s a spot for a cheap meal, and that’s really its main appeal.
