Nice positioned cafe with no frills but tasty good and cakes

Had take out coffees and hot chocolate both super tasty, the coffee was real good. Had tea and scones here before, worth the trip back 👍

We went on a weekend so it was quite busy but lovely. The food was great, good portion sizes and arrived very quickly. Parking is nearby. The walking trail is very near with beautiful views. It is a family friendly place too.

Fair prices for a cafe in a tourist hot spot that has no nearby competition. For a while there were nearly as many staff behind the counter as customers in front. They were getting in each others way, but as the season progress I am sure that management will study the work flows and staff will be able to find their way around better.

A lovely place to finnish a long walk around the headland with some fresh coffee and cake. All the staff were very friendly and helpful

Great place to stop off after walking to / from the beach front. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Prices are reasonable with a particularly good selection of cakes that all the kids loved. Good, clean and relaxed environment and would definitely recommend stopping here.

Right by the car park at Hengistbury Head. No great shakes but food was good with a varied menu, kind of what you would expect from a cafe like this. Staff were quick and pleasant.

Enjoyed breakfast here with the family. Reasonably priced, clean and good service.

Coffee is ok but not great and cakes a bit dry. It's an OK place

Only had a drink, which was okay, nothing special! Very disappointed that we couldn't bring the dog in dispite, checking that they were dog friendly! So we went elsewhere.

Went to go in today and no dogs allowed, so ended up going to a friendlier cafe which allowed dogs. Don't recommend, 2nd time I've had a problem here

Arrived at 1.00pm on New Year's Eve and the place was really, really busy. Found a table OK though and joined the queue to order our food. I was expecting the staff to be stressed and grumpy but they were smiley and cheerful which made for a great atmosphere! I was warned that service was slow but our jacket potatoes came out in about 10 minutes and were delicious with lots of filling. My bacon and brie had 3 lovely thick rashers of bacon, and my wife's Coronation chicken was meaty and plentiful. All in all a lovely visit and we're looking forward to coming back.

Good favour Hot chocolate drink that was great needed as a very cold cycle ride we also had a nice Brie and Bacon Baguette also very nice but my partner wanted a Chicken burger but sadly that wasn't on the menu in fact there was only a Coronation Chicken and No other Chicken options hence only a 4 star rating from me. The seating is poor just like school plastic seats with the exception of a few Both style soft comfortable bench seats. All in all a warm and friendly place specially after a good walk or cycle around Hengistbury Head. I will definitely be going back again and would definitely recommend this whether in summer or winter

I just bought a flapjack that was under baked and a hot chocolate that wasn't that special. It's a ideal place right next to Hengistbury head and the walks available . Plenty of Outdoor seating.

Previously visited (too many times to count). The food is tasty & delicious. Never a bad day at the office for the chef/s here always a good level of consistency. The staff are pretty young here (always have been) overall pretty efficient though. Lovely views to enjoy alongside the great food.

We stopped here for lunch, and later tea in the afternoon. Although the area is popular there was plenty of room (mid September). The food was excellent and the busy staff were polite and friendly. We ate inside, where the tables were kept clean and tidy.

We visited on a very busy Sunday morning for breakfast. The food arrived promptly, and the Hungry Hikers breakfast was delicious. We also bought some cakes to eat later. The bread pudding slice was to die for. Lovely staff and very good service.

Would of been 5 stars for food but the bacon sandwich was not nice bacon was very fatty But the cream tea was 5 stars I will be back soon

A well located cafe for Hengistbury Head, typical cafe food. Only downside you need a car park ticket which is not cheap, £2.30 per hour unless you walk there !

Food was better than I expected. Cheesy chips and burger went down well. Lovely setting. Staff work their socks off to serve everyone quickly and keep the place looking nice.

Lovely place to go - there is a bus stop next to it (not sure if it's seasonal or all year round) and there are plenty of places to walk around the area of the café, including obviously Hengistbury Head itself. The food is nice and the service is friendly. It was absolutely chucking it down with rain when we went so it was a very welcome place to dry off in and have a tasty lunch. It would be even better on a nice day with seating outside.

Lovely little cafe, service was a bit slow but they were extremely busy. All food is freshly cooked so delays are to be expected. Food was delicious with very generous portions. Would definitely recommend.

Long ques, got overcharged, but they did refund, had to return coffee latte as it was sour, the hot baguette had burnt bacon hardly any brie and to say it was a hot baguette the cheese that was in the filling wasn't hot or melted, the salad garnish had the stalk from the lettuce. Not the best cafe I've been too.

After walking round Hengistbury Head it was lovely to pop into the cafe for food and a cup of tea. It was very busy but plenty of tables and chairs. If you have dogs there are also lots of benches outside, with an ice cream kiosk and public toilets.

Totally overpriced and miniscule portions. Pesto panini had no taste and there was practically nothing inside except a bit of cheese and a few spinach leaves and it cost as much as £6.35

Called in here on our way to see the beach huts. Parking a bit expensive. Had a couple of ice creams on the way in and an ice cream, tea, and cake on the way back. Delicious.

A SUPERB facility...in just the right place ..well laid out, with its different counters for each customer requirement, with such friendly and helpful colleagues.. lovely views from the seating... VERY good value

Very popular cafe good service and food but when busy you have to be patient.

Considering this is at Hengistbury Head, where people tend to walk their dogs. Dogs aren't allowed. Staff were pleasant, but all young girls who looked bored to be there. Atmosphere was good though , people chatting. I went on a rather blowy wet day so probably better when you can sit outside watching the world go by

I recently visited Hiker Cafe with high hopes, expecting a cozy and welcoming spot to grab a bite after a long hike. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of my expectations. From the moment I stepped foot inside, it was clear that this cafe was not living up to its reputation. First and foremost, the service was abysmal. The staff seemed disinterested and indifferent, providing minimal attention to customers. It took an eternity for someone to acknowledge my presence and take my order. Even then, the staff lacked basic knowledge about the menu and couldn't answer simple questions regarding ingredients or allergens. As for the food, it was incredibly underwhelming. I ordered the tuna sandwich, expecting a hearty and delicious meal. However, what arrived at my table was a sad excuse for a sandwich. The bread was stale and tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. The fillings were sparse and lacked any flavor or creativity. It was a far cry from the nourishing and satisfying meal I had hoped for. The ambiance of the cafe was another letdown. Instead of the cozy and rustic atmosphere I anticipated, I found myself surrounded by dated and worn-out furniture. The seating arrangements were uncomfortable, and the overall cleanliness of the place left much to be desired. It was not the kind of environment that encouraged relaxation or enjoyment. To make matters worse, the prices at Hiker Cafe were exorbitant for the quality of food and service provided. I felt like I was paying a premium for subpar food and a lackluster experience. It's disheartening to spend hard-earned money on a meal that leaves you unsatisfied and disappointed. Overall, my visit to Hiker Cafe was a regrettable experience. From the poor service to the unappetizing food and lackluster ambiance, there was hardly anything positive to take away. I would not recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a pleasant post-hiking meal. Save your time and money by exploring other dining options in the area

We just had an icecream here, was delicious with good portion sizes. The icecream could have done with been a bit more frozen as it was melting quicker than we could eat it.

Excellent, had a lovely vegan sausage roll, hot oat milk lattes were great and they serve all the jimmys! Ate outside, lots of tables, god atmosphere and flock of starlings (don't feed them!) - went on a cold, miserable day, will be back in the sunshine. This is the third time visiting the Hiker Cafe. The café is inviting and colourfully decorated with a range of indoor and outdoor seating. We went on a hot June day for a late lunch and, opting to sit inside, were lucky as a short queue to order food. Previously we've had the Vege burger and salads but this time we had egg and chips (quite hungry after a long walk and forgot to take any photos). Looking over at another table and seeing a huge salad I wished I'd spent more time choosing. There is a good selection for vegetarians. There is a separate ice cream ordering window. The ordering was quick and the service speedy. It is very well run. We will definitely be back.

We visited the Hiker Cafe for brunch. The serve an excellent bacon bap with plenty of bacon which was really tasty. It was even better because the weather was perfect. I used to come here with my parents back in the day. A walk around Hengistbury Head followed by a tea/coffee and a snack at the Hiker cafe was their favourite….. happy days

I've recently visited hiker's cafe and our waiter was really rude to me and my family he was quite tall and had black hair but other then that it's was a really lovely day out and it was really clean and tidy Thank for having us!

Stopped here for a coffee and homemade cake. Both were really really good! The staff that served me were polite and friendly. prices were v. reasonable considering its the only cafe around!
