Met my family here today for coffee and lunch. We were not permitted to sit on one of the three long vacant sofas inside to avoid the rain outside. We therefore decided not to have proper lunch. Sitting outside, one toasted sandwich, two milkshakes, one coffee and tea cost me well over £30. My French is very good but to describe my Cheese and Tomato toasty just in the French language was absolutely ridiculous and PRETENTIOUS. The person who took our order had no sense of humour and could not have cared less. Owners of this place please note, the most important asset a company has is its staff - and yours looked so overworked. I will not be returning to your plush sofas which customers are not allowed to sit on!

Kaya never again.Bizzare experience. We wanted a nice lunch and was met with oh we can still fit you in even if you have not booked to being looked up and down by another barista We ended up standing in the doorway waiting for ages with no attention at all we ended up leaving...We should of read the reviews on this place...Terrible....Ended up finding another cafe with wonderful service and professionalism.

Went today travelled especially as the park is so lovely, cafe was useless no where to sit unless you'd pre booked despite the whole inside not being open. Bookings only for a very limited outside seating at a park cafe. Found it pretentious and expensive £10 for a cheeseburger. We just wanted to walk the dogs and have a coffee and a sandwich.!!!

I've been here several times this summer and the service is extremely slow. There is no organisation in the taking of the order and the supply of the order.Youcan wait 20-30 minutes just to place your order. I have written this review before and things don't improve-I wonder if they read the reviews. Today was the last straw,we gave up waiting,as did several other people who had been in the queue. Let me know when you have improved the wait time and maybe I'll come back!

I arrived in Horsham on business for a meeting in town with one of my clients and I needed a bit to eat after a long journey. I ordered a bacon sandwich and a cup of tea. The service was really good, the two ladies that were working in there at the time were really pleasant and friendly. The bacon sandwich was a little pricey compare to where I live however the taste made up for it. It is an ideal place to grab a drink with a friend or have a quick bit of breakfast food. There were a few others in the cafe at the time and it looked to me to be an area for those who have been on a walk in the park to come and grab a drink and a bit of a rest!

Good place to meet, especially on a sunny day. Sandwiches are yummy although a bit pricey. The thin that lets it down is the service, very slow for cooked food or even having your order taken, seems to be no structure or flow to who does what. Doesn’t put me off though I go weekly.

Popped in for a lunchtime coffee and cake. Very busy due it being half-term but managed to get last available table. Service a bit slow. Ordered a cappuccino and a hot chocolate plus two fruit scones. There were no options on the size of the drinks. The cappuccino came in a small cup and had the chocolate sprinkles added without asking me. Coffee was a bit weak and ruined by the chocolate sprinkles. Just a couple mof sips and the cup was empty. The chocolate came in a reasonable sized mug but was a bit weak for my partners taste. The scones were 'average': needed to be crispier on the outside. Only butter offered, no 'light' spread offered. The scones were quite expensive as were the other offerings available. Overall rating has to be POOR because of the very small coffee, lack of size options, not asking about the chocolate toppings and the prices. Could forgive the prices if the rest had been better.

I personally feel the coffee they serve is of poor quality lacks flavour and intensity for what they charge £2.50 for what they call large coffee in theory it is a small mug. For this price in town you can get a large cup and considerably better flavour for the same cost. All in all they charge high price as they know they have no competition, my advice to the Conservatory Cafe drop Kendrick's coffee get a decent supplier and larger cups/mugs for what you charge it not value for money.

The cafe is nicely situated in Horsham Park with parking right outside (which at times has plenty of spaces, especially Friday afternoons I find). Last visit, I found that there was a good selection of food. Service was a bit slow but the member of staff was friendly enough. However, some tables were vacant yet still had cups, etc. on it which I'd understand if it was very busy (although not ideal) but it wasn't that busy and I'd much prefer to be greeted with a clear and clean table. That aside, still a nice place to pop into for lunch or even just a coffee.

Whilst attending a kids party at the ice rink we were told that they couldn’t provide gluten free option for my coeliac son... just as the other kids food came out!! So I popped into the conservatory cafe in an attempt to find something for him to eat. I was delighted that not only do they do gluten free but they couldn’t have been more helpful. The lovely staff made him a toastie sandwich and provided him with a lovely GF chocolate brownie and GF crisps!! They even brought it up to the ice rink for him!! Out of all the kids at the party it was my one that ate the best as the rink food was terrible!! I have never been to the cafe before but we will definitely choose to call in when next at the park. Thank you ladies you are stars xxx

I’ve been here twenty or so times with small children and various other adults. It’s a handy stop if you’re in the park or walking through, but I wouldn’t head here for lunch by choice. It’s pricey for the quality of the experience (though I suppose you pay a bit for the location). The inside looks a bit tired but is clean and the food always looks good. I’ve had a decent jacket potato, toasted sandwich and chips, and some nice cake. The coffee is okay and you can get a piece of fruit or a drink for the little ones. The kids food isn’t great. Limited selection. A kids box comes with a sandwich, crisps, cake and squash. Why no fruit or healthy snack? Most places that do the lunch box approach give more items, charge less or give healthy options. I often get chips for my daughter instead, seems no worse than a cupcake, crisps and cheese sandwich.

We went here the other week, arriving 1.5 hours before they were due to close. We asked for jacket potatoes with beans but were told they couldn't do this in that time and could only do plain jackets with butter. We declined as this would be too dry and couldn't understand why it wasn't possible to quickly heat up some beans. We decided to settle for some slices of cake instead, whilst paying a member of staff came out from the kitchen loudly remarking whether these jackets were being ordered or not, when the lady serving us said no, the other woman said oh did they leave then? And we were still standing right at the till. Her tone of voice was quite rude and we both felt ridiculed in front of other customers. There was no need for her to speak with such a tone, and it was quite ridiculous they couldn't heat up beans for the jacket when they were still open for 1.5 hours still! I would not recommend.

We stopped for a cuppa mid afternoon after I remembered having visited here some years ago. We sat in the conservatory & both myself & my friend almost in unison commented to each other that the floor looked like it hadn't been swept in days, general detritus on windowsills & generally an unkempt look to the place. The tea was reasonably priced but I thought the cakes on offer were a tad pricey - £3 for a caramel shortbread. The conservatory was pleasant until a staff member shut the door, presumably to stop more customers entering (it was 3.30pm so not close to closing?) it was then quite stuffy in the conservatory as there were no windows open at all. My friend used the toilet, which she said was ok if a little shabby, she did comment that the poster on the door advertised an event from a month ago! I think all in all that summed it up - this place has huge potential but needs a thorough clean & spruce up! It clearly relies on its park location & no competition nearby which enables it to survive.

Service, and occasionally product, can be variable but the location is so good, adjacent to the Park Bandstand, close to the town centre and with parking nearby, that it is a favourite of many people.I was last here in February on a fine but cold day. There is plenty of outside seating but I was happy to stay indoors in the very pleasant conservatory area. I had a simple and acceptable hot chocolate and slice of cake.As has already been mentioned by an earlier reviewer the place is a very popular meeting place for mothers with young children so peace and quiet is often at a premium. As long as other patrons accept this it's a pleasant place to go to for a quick drink and bite in nice surroundings.

If you are passing, this is a convenient place to stop for a snack. The cafe is situated on the edge of Horsham Park overlooking the bandstand on one side and the council offices on the other. Parking is £1.10 for an hour in the council car park and dogs are not allowed inside the cafe. The cafe offers breakfast and has a simple menu available. When I went in late morning, I had beans on toast, which was nicely presented. There was a nice selection of cakes available. It’s warm inside the conservatory, even on a cold day. There are views out on to the park and the cafe is very family friendly, (with plenty of child seats available). It can however get very noisy with mums and toddlers. If passing and in need of a coffee and cake pop in.

As per my review of Horsham Park, saw there was a cafe and wanted to ensure I grabbed a latte! So armed with a picnic for the children, I wanted to grab myself a latte and pastry. Asked for a latte to take out, packet of walkers and asked for a chocolate twist. Well, the Latte was £2.40 and that's about standard, however I think I have found the place that serves the smallest latte's in the world ever. 8 oz. My 7 month old nephew has bottles of milk the same size. Also bit into the pastry, no chocolate insight - just sultana's... Wasn't impressed to be honest. Next time will avoid the cafe and stop off for an adults sized coffee elsewhere.

Read through some of the other reviews on TA for the Conservatory Cafe in Horsham, and recent ones have been pretty negative ... so thought i'd add my tuppence, for what it's worth. The location is absolutely gorgeous, particularly on a summer's day seated outdoors on the edge of a lovely and quintessential english park. I dont know this area of the country at all, but three locals stopped for a chat and even the elderly carpark inspector was friendly to the point that we wanted to take him home with us! As for the cafe staff, who seem to be slightly under appreciated on TA, they were absolutely fine with us. The prices for basic café fare were no more or less than anywhere else, so all in all we really enjoyed our visit. The location definitely makes the place worth visiting.

I visited here with a friend for coffee with out little ones. The cafe certainly looks like a nice, trendy cafe but unfortunately the service and experience is very disappointing. We ordered a very simple request; two hot chocolates, two cakes and a baby Chino. The waitress forgot one of the hot chocolates and not particularly wiling to help bring to our table - we asked each having a baby in our arms. The temperature of the baby Chino was far too hot for a toddler which we realised when the little girl dropped the cup from being hotter than she expected. Not hot enough to burn, but far too hot to drink. On complaining, the waitress was non apologetic but did have a manger come to see us. This manager made us feel responsible for not checking and was very hesitant to apologise which was disappointing. The hot chocolate was very sweet and tasted nothing more than a budget powdered chocolate flavoured drink made with water - it was very watery and sweet. We bought a scone which came with jam, however they wanted to charge us £1 for some cream! The prices are far too high for a budget cafe with poor service. We won't be visiting here again unfortunately as the location is perfect for the leisure centre and the park.

Visited the Conservatory Cafe by pure chance. Good selection of snack foods and good coffee. Wanted a couple of cupcakes to have with our coffee and was told they were not for sale, "they are for kids packs". If the place has food items on display, why are they not for sale? I came across the Conservatory cafe while walking my dog. I was disappointed to discover no dogs allowed. Given this cafe is in the park I would have thought they would have welcomed dog walkers! Numerous other cafes in the town allow dogs including the large chains so I'm not sure what the issue is. I managed to attract the attention of a member of staff and ordered a latte for outside. I would have ordered food as well but as we weren't allowed in and the staff weren't very welcoming I didn't feel I wanted to spend too long here. Having said the above, the coffee wasn't that great so it's unlikely I would return in any case. Shame - it's in such a lovely setting and could do so much better with a friendly face behind the counter!

Enjoyed the food but they only have what's on display. I went a 13:15 and they had, at most, half a dozen sandwiches and baguettes left. I requested one that wasn't there and was advised they don't prepare to order, they only have available what is on display. Once it's gone it's gone! This was in half term when it was heaving and I'd queued for 10+ minutes. Not great service. It's a place to pop in and have an ice cream and drink, don't expect to eat!

Its a welcome thought that we can go for coffee or tea, lunch or a snack at the Conservatory Cafe in Horsham Park. I sometimes take the dog so need to sit outside which in adverse weather conditions is perhaps not the best experience but this cafe is not the only one in Horsham where we cannot take Fido indoors. Anyway, nice enough outside in good weather but the place is badly let down by bad coffee and bad food. I have yet to get a decent coffee there and have been there (for coffee) on at least six occasions. The food is not that good either, tried sandwiches, eggs on toast, BLT etc. but all quite expensive for what they were and poor in quality. Too bad. If I go back there, I shall opt for tea maybe and try a cake next time. Watch this space....

I have given it 3 stars because it is a beautiful location and the conservatory seating has nice views. Otherwise we were thoroughly dissatisfied. The café closes at 4 even on weekdays, and we arrived around 3 25 but were promptly told that we couldn't sit in the conservatory, which is the best part of the café, as they closed at 4! There were still other people sitting in there, and all we wanted was tea, but nope, we had to sit in the inner bit and were given our tea in tiny takeaway cups. With the same amount of effort, we could have been allowed to sit in the conservatory and we would have been out before closing time anyway. I find it ridiculous. They didn't treat us like customers but acted like they were doing us a favour by serving us. If we ever go there again, which is unlikely, we will make sure we go at least 2 hours before closing time so that we can be served properly.
