The Commute Cafe in Huntingdonshire

Such a lovely place. After visiting the nearby Norris Museum, we stopped here. We had a Victoria Sponge cake, chocolate ice cream and a vanilla milkshake with cream. All were delicious. The whole cafe is clean and airy with an outdoor area at the front and also the back. Dog friendly is a bonus! We'll be back!

This café used to serve amazingly good food but now only seems to sell cakes and pre-packed sandwiches which you can get from anywhere what's happened?

I went to St Ives today looking for a nice breakfast and I found one at The Commute. I can’t understand how most cafes get away with selling croissants that look and taste a week old. Not at The Commute as theirs are superb, although you might expect that as the person in charge is French! I also gather the company that supplies their coffee sent someone to train the staff, especially in making cappuccinos. I aim to visit regularly.

Friendly staff, tasty cakes but the hot food should be avoided. For example I went there for Breakfast this morning, I tried a bacon roll and when it arrived I opened it up to cool and had a genuine problem finding any Bacon at all, it looked like an empty roll. I took it back and got a replacement which had more bacon than the first but still so little that I would have complained if I hadn't done so already. The rolls are not cheap and compare very badly to those I have had at other cafe's even including those of "chain" cafes which have cheaper rolls with twice the bacon of the replacement roll at commute. I had tried a panini on a previous visit but it had arrived cooked on the outside and cold on the inside with solid herb butter.

Really disappointed with our visit to this cafe. We ordered sourdough toasted sandwiches, which were pre packed. A tiny amount of filling for the price. Not very tasty. For what it cost we could have gone to nuts bistro and got a hot meal for not much more money. Won’t revisit.

Des gâteaux délicieux et un café hors du commun dans un petit salon de thé chaleureux et accueillant. Le service était de grande qualité. À noter qu'il y a une attention particulière portée sur les allergènes. On reviendra.

Un excellent petit déjeuner , café et scone délicieux et un personnel qualifié et attentionné.Je recommande le Commute Café.

What a great cafe. The coffee was lovely... great flavour... And the cake was scummy too. The staff where very welcoming, friendly and helpful... And it was very clean. Will I be going again? Oh yes. Would I recommend it to others? I already have.

Another great visit to The Commute Cafe, lovely coffee, friendly service and especially enjoyed the atmosphere, what a nice place to hang out. I will certainly be back.

Lovely place,staff are very good service is normally very quick. Such a pity they have stopped doing cooked meals. Place used to be very busy but now seems quiet empty when you walk past.

What a shame and so disappointing went for an amazing lunch to find uninspiring pre packed food andstaff who would rather chat between themselves and rude . I didn't even wait we walked out and went to Tom's

My first time visit today , I had parked on the road outside and thought right time for my coffee, give them a try . Good decision, I was greeted by nice smiley staff and ordered my latte . Then a lady comes out with a tray of freshly baked sausage rolls, clearly homemade . I couldn’t resist and had one . Still warm . Wow . My coffee was one of the best and the sausage roll just like my mum makes . I willl return for some of those yummy looking cakes next time too . 10/10 visit thanks girls

Best coffee in town! Coffee is consistently good. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Pastries and cakes are great quality. Lovely independent cafe.

This cafe used to do a lovely lunch menu , a small but exquisite selection of dishes. I took my daughter on Saturday for "lunch" to discover that these dishes have been replaced by ready made , very unspecial options . As we didn't want to walk elsewhere we had to chose cold wraps from the fridge which were served still in their packaging!! So disappointing in what was a fab cafe with previous high standards Back to Toms Cakes if we want some a nice snack lunch where the food is better and warmed if wanted

What a shame this previously fabulous cafe has decided to replace their menu with fridge sandwiches!! Definitely not worth another visit! Back to the Riverside Cafe for us to get a tasty freshly cooked brunch for us!

Excellent coffee and pastries and pleasant surroundings, nice place to idle for a while. Lovely friendly service. I have only been in the morning and there is a relatively short menu, but my impression is they concentrate on quality, which in my opinion is the way it should be
