Recently hired the room upstairs for a function and would highly recommend. Bright and spacious wrap around room , private bar and ability to play your own music. David and Seb kept us going all night with fantastic service behind the bar. We also pre ordered a bunch of pizza which went down very well !

Gorgeous interior and atmosphere both upstairs and down. Hired out the upstairs space for an event and had a great experience. The staff were friendly and helpful both on the night and during the organisation. Would definitely recommend if looking for a private space to host an event in London :)

Great pub's pub for drinks. Lovely interior and character. Good background choice of music, too. Only five minutes walk from Spitalfields market.

I went out last Friday and had a brilliant night. The atmosphere was fantastic, the music was great, and the service was definitely top-notch. I have to thank Seb he was so friendly, full of energy, definitely what you need in a lively bar like this one. I'm definitely coming back here and would love to be served by Seb again he really went above and beyond superb service 👌

Had an amazing night at this pub today with friends and colleagues. Bar team was speedy, and worked well as a team, overall we was delighted with the cocktails, and beer, Sebastian was our bartender we kept going back to him for drinks. Although the morreti was a bit flat, music wasn't really entertaining too, would be great if they did food services too! Definitely will be back!

We booked a private room for a work social and they really looked after us! We hired a karaoke machine for the night, which they helped set up and see to returning it on our behalf. The staff were super friendly and everything was well organised. Thank you to the team!

This is our favourite pub. The staff are friendly, music is awesome, drinks spot on, everything is clean. The atmosphere transports you to a historic east end icon. A mixture of Charles Dickens, shabby chic and artistic flare, what more could you ask for. Everybody is welcome. Thanks to all the staff!

Nate has been incredible all night, service has been professional and efficient. Very welcoming pub and the music is the perfect volume to enjoy a chit chat.

Used to be a great pub, but now they think they're to hip and progressive to use cash. no visible signs stating that fact. No wonder it was so quiet!

Nice old fashioned pub with a good selection of beers including one of my favourite beers in Neck oil. Price also quite reasonable. Staff very sociable and quick service. Would recommend especially if you like a pub as it would have been years ago. We were there early Sunday afternoon and was quite empty , but glad we were not there from 5pm as virtually every table on both ground and first floor were booked to watch England v Spain football and assume it would then be very noisy. Loads of tv sets on both floors.

On of my favorite bar in the world. Super nice inside and outside. Great choice of beer and very fiendly staff. Very reasonably priced as well. I mean, even the other customers are nice. And all of that since I've know them ~15 years ago. You should try :)

One of my fav pubs in Shoreditch near Spitafields. Great interiors, if the upstairs is not booked they have a great room with tapestry and old pictures who I recommend to take a look at (no spoilers)

Popped in for a drink on a very wet and miserable day...ordered a bloody mary cocktail ...dont even Really drink them but it caught my eye on board. If they are always like the one I had here, they will be my new drink, it was delicious and a good size too. Great pub, great decor, really quirky. You could spend your whole visit just observing your surroundings.

Staff eating behind the bar, toilets stunk and no customer service at all. Very disappointing also do people not do toilet checks ?

Unfriendly staff, half asleep, Dragonball t-shirt, leaning on the bar like they don't need us to come in and contribute to their wages. Take a 3 stars and use it as constructive feedback. Get yourself a proper pub character to front your bar, someone who will greet costumers as they go in and spend their hard earned money and keep you in business

The veranda at the commercial tavern was the perfect place to host our event. Ellie was an amazing bartender, we loved it.

Just wondered in for a drink. Did not eat here, but the usual range of drinks you would expect from a bar. DJ on site. Friendly bar staff. I would say majority of the crowd was in 20s to early 30s age range. Even so we did not feel uncomfortable. Great decor.

Really great Christmas Party. We hired out the Commercial Tavern for a work Christmas Party. The team was so fun, friendly and attentive - nothing was too much trouble. Also great value for money considering it's in central Shoreditch. Would definitely recommend and book again!

Been here for drinks before several times and always had fun, but recently also booked for a work event (bigger group) and it was perfect in every way!! They were super accommodating and flexible with pre-orders. The room upstairs was so amazing, very cozy and pretty, and perfect for a private party. The staff was very friendly, the food was lovely and drinks were cheap. So overall, amazing experience, can highly recommend it for any event!

It's so bad it's good, the decor! Omg it looks like someone tipped up a skip and used the contents for practical and aesthetic use! We loved it and will definitely go back! So quirky and the staff were excellent and welcoming.

Top notch pub with incredible staff! Great selection of drinks and an awesome vibe both inside and out. I visit often with my dog and they give him so much love and affection.

Uriger und authentischer Pub mit tollem viktorianischem Ambiente, aber im hinteren Bereich sehr finster. Die Getränke sind an der Bar zu holen, aber es gibt sogar eine Getränkekarte. Der Gastgarten wirkte sehr voll, drinnen konnten wir aber noch einen Sitzplatz ergattern. Wir blieben nicht allzu lange, es war aber ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt.

A pub we stopped by on our way back to the overground station, and it was a very nice and smooth experience. Place looks old and kind of historical (it was a trading place or office but can't remember exactly), lovely decorated. The ladies at the bar were nice and friendly

Built in 1865 and Grade II listed, The Commercial Tavern’s unique and beautiful Victorian facade is one of the most striking in London. The new paint job has the pub looking great.

Good place for after work drinks. Could do with more ales.

The decor left me confused, the prices had me vexed and the bar staff, made me frustrated. One star for the location and the other for cleanliness.

Stopped in for a pint of Guinness that was a perfect pour (and im very picky, being Irish lol) lovely staff, good vibes only!!! Plus I lost my phone there and managed to get it back! One of the coolest bars I've been to, defo gonna stop by again!

Vibe is average for the area, and the bar staff was attentive. The inside is pretty packed, so dont expect a seat around peak time. Not the nicest guiness pour. good quality but minimal tap selection. Would go back, though, It isn't high on the list.
