The Colonade Kiosk in Tendring

Stopped in for a coffee and a burger while walking along the prom. Wonderful view, good value, and one of the best burgers we’ve ever had!

New owners, but still a great place to eat and drink overlooking the sea. Lovely coffee, and some truly amazing cakes. Other food is great as well.

Great spot for a snack overlooking the sea. Delicious donuts. Soft, fluffy, not at all greasy, fair price.

We live in Walton so are able to visit the Colonnade Kiosk almost every day whilst they are open. The food is always freshly cooked (the chips cooked in beef dripping are to die for!). Proper coffee at reasonable prices, Donuts cooked to order, lots of different flavour ice cream, what more could you ask for? The proprietors are great characters, it's always a pleasure to visit them. A bunch of us meet up on a regular basis and sit and drink our coffee and chat. The position of the kiosk means it's pretty much sheltered from the wind and there's a large awning so you can sit out of the sun if you want to. Well worth a visit.

The best beach cafe in Walton better than any frinton or clacton honestly. Food is always cooked beautifully, donuts always so fresh, everything and even the ice cream! Coffee is fab real 😋 Wish they had a bigger area for seating. We are actually sad they don't open a bit later it would be great to stroll along there in summer later afternoon as sun is going down sometimes. Obviously on a warm evening. Thankyou to staff they are fab😀

I ordered two coffee latte today and made the mistake of asking for two regular latte. When I picked them up and got them back to our table we found they were vanilla latte. We took them back and they refused to change them saying we asked for vanilla latte we had not touched them. Why would we ask for something that we do not like. Obviously as I asked for regular latte they heard vanilla instead of regular through the covid screen a mistake that can be easily made. We ended up with no coffee at all we had to walk away having paid for it. It would have been nice for them to agree it was a misunderstanding as we would never order something we dont drink

I love ice cream, love it. My favourite is pistacho, so when I saw that The Colonade Kiosk sold it I was there. What a treat I had, beautiful and nutty ice cream in a fresh waffle cone. I have to say it comes up to the banana split I always have at The Wolseley in Piccadilly!. Thanks Colonade, you have done no favours for my waistline............!

On a recent covid friendly family outing we came across this wonderful kiosk. The donuts are so fresh and taste Amazing!! Friendly service too! What’s not to like 😊

There is no better place to sit and enjoy a cup of tea on a sunny morning. Chips,Doughnuts and ice creams are also recommend.While you sit back relax and enjoy the views or just people watch. Must not forget the lovely staff who seem to always have a smile and a friendly word for every one.

We stopped here every day during our holiday for drinks and /or snacks. We were always served with a smile. The staff were always friendly and the food good. Look forward to seeing you next year.

The trips to Walton are always a trip back to the past and this place is no exception. My first stop here my partner and I purchased chips, that we couldn't eat and they went into the bin. However, it is a lovely place to stop and have a cuppa and a '99' and enjoy the sea air. Prices seem ok.

After reading some reviews thought it should be fair to see why some were not so good as have had previously visited and all was fine. Well this time it was ' Simply The best' as some would say or sing about, a very well worth stopping place to get a smile, friendly greeting, excellent tea and coffee and brilliant bacon rolls. Well done all of you.

Stopped here for a quick break last week and made the mistake of ordering coffee. It was totally undrinkable, just hot water stained brown with something and served in over large portions. The only saving grace was the price which was cheap, but why can't people try harder when the equipment is available to produce a decent cup. Such a pity when the location is great, it just plays into the hands of the chain coffee shops.

Rather unfriendly staff and certainly the name of the establishment just about sums up how you will feel after eating here!

With spectacular view of the sea, this is a favourite view of mine to have a coffee and freshly made donuts. I have been coming here for years and have always been greeted with a smile. Seating is available so try this relaxing place out. You won't be disappointed. Beach toys etc are for sale.

we enjoy stopping for a drink, cold or hot, and watching the world go by, with great sea views. you can buy ice creams, doughnuts etc and loads of beach toys, balls, bats, buckets, spades etc if you are here for the day.

I visit Walton every year and always stop off at The Colonnade. The staff are so friendly and the foods great. Their fresh donuts are without a doubt he best I have ever had. Looking forward to returning soon.

Fuimos allí para un helado y terminamos teniendo la otra cosa caliente, recién preparado, así que no es buena... donuts para la cintura, pero totalmente delicioso. Los helados también eran buenas. El personal era amable y simpático con bromas bueno, hacer un estupendo para un día junto al mar.

Right on the seafront and with plenty of seating, some undercover and some in the open, a lovely place to stop for a drink and bite to eat. I found it to be very reasonably priced given it's location.

What can I say?!It's a seaside kiosk.But it's a seaside kiosk with a difference.Situated in a prime location on Walton seafront this never fails to impress.From a simple cup of tea to the great snacks on offer you won't go far wrong here.Just watching the world go by relaxing in the midday sun.I'm in heaven..!!

Living as we do in Walton-on-the-Naze this is a regular haunt of ours. Sometimes just for an excellent filter coffee, maybe with some delicious freshly cooked doughnuts, or sometimes for an al fresco breakfast bacon roll. Later in the day we may go for the tasty hamburgers with chips that are second to none. There's excellent ice cream on offer too. The place itself is a sun trap and you sit looking out to the beach and sea beyond. Always beautifully clean tables, and even the floor of the promenade is kept brushed. Or, if you prefer, take your food to the beach, its only seconds away. The prices are very competitive, the quality top notch, and the service warm and friendly. No wonder it's been so popular with locals and visitors alike for so many years.

The coffee and service are second to none, and the fresh donuts are must. The tables are always clean and the floor is kept spotless.

My family and children from London, Suffolk and Birmingham visit the Colonade Kiosk when visting me. All state it's the best tea and bacon roll by the sea ever. Very clean with quality ingredients used throughout their menu. Best ice cream by far and we've eaten ice cream in Rome! Nice friendly service from Nigel and Colin who always welcome you with a smile and a joke. Keep up the good work and we cant wait to see you again. The Faliveno Family...

This kiosk is simply unbeatable. Their Bacon Rolls are my personal favourite. As a family we regularly visit and the coffee, ice cream, donuts and welcome are always of an excellent standard! The kiosk is clean and tidy and nothing is ever too much bother for the staff. Sunday mornings always seem busy and favourite with the locals as the atmosphere is lovely. A perfect pitstop on seafront walk!

We regularly go to the Kiosk for an early breakfast. Great coffee, bacon rolls and fantastic doughnuts all served with a friendly smile and a chat. The Kiosk is part of what makes Walton great and ensures that they have a regular following.
