Really nice pub with a cosy atmosphere. The food was really nice with homemade proper meat dishes that for once left me full. We stayed the night in a very comfortable, clean room with everything that we needed. Breakfast was again filling with thick slices of bacon and very meaty sausages and the best tasting scrambled egg ive had , nice juice and fresh coffee. We will definitely be back.

We thought we would end our holiday locally. My meal was awful. The beef in my ciabatta was inedible. It had an aftertaste of being warmed up (barely). I tried to cut out the fat but it just turned my stomach. My husband had the same with the bacon in his ciabatta, it was dripping with fat which was all over his hands too. Very underwhelmed, shame because we’ve had some lovely meals in the past. I was asked if I enjoyed my meal when paying. It was received with “sorry”.

Friendly establishment. Amie and her team, Mariah ( hope I've spelled that correctly) and Tish made our stay a most enjoyable experience. The food was delicious, especially the baby back ribs. Don't be fooled by the title, the portions were anything but baby. Mariah was very kind and gave great assistance to making me less of a sticky mess when i finished eating. The starter of chicken thighs was tasty and the burger top notch. Sadly due to the generous portions we were unable to manage a dessert. The overnight stay, dinner and breakfast was value for money. I'd definitely consider returning.

We met up with very good friends for a wonderful lunch and long chat at Collyweson Slater, as we have done on several occasions. Today was excellent in every way: Grace, our waitress, was welcoming and extremely pleasant and helpful; the food was superb and thoroughly enjoyable, and the company was so refreshing! Thank you to all concerned!!

Here from Scotland visiting friends, went out for a pub lunch. Paid for the bill with Scottish £20 notes. Took the money away but as we were getting ready to leave, came over and humiliated us in front of all other customers by telling us that they cannot accept our money because it’s fake. Young man sent over by manager to inform of this as it was his opinion that the notes were fake. Would have happily accepted the statement of they do not accept Scottish notes and if this was the case why was the police not phoned?? Gobsmacked to be accused of this and will not be back. Shame on the manager for being a baw bag! Also told to spend the money in Corby which I’m told is just down the road and will be appreciated there.. obv full of Scottish??

We have visited a few times previously at lunch time after a dog walk at the local Fineshade woods. Always enjoyed the lunchtime menu and how dog friendly it is. I have also had a Sunday dinner here which was lovely. So for my birthday I decided to visit for an evening meal again with my little frenchie who goes everywhere with me. Was made to feel very welcome straight away from who I believe was the owner. Lovely lady. My dog was very welcomed, fuss and water. The food was absolutely gorgeous! I went with the halibut and my partner the gammon. The food was hot and fresh and was prepared in a timely manner. Will deffo be back! Thank you all.

Had a most enjoyable evening here with family. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home instantly. The menu is varied enough to suit different palates. The food ordered was delivered to the table in a timely manner and was of high quality. The young waiter is very well mannered and attentive without being 'in your face'. He is without doubt one of the best waiters we have come across and is a real asset to this establishment. We opted to stay here as it was close to a celebration we were attending in a nearby village and we were so pleased we did. The pub is full of charm but with the added bonus of a lovely hostess! Amy, gave us a warm welcome and tour of the pub which was super quick as it only has 3 rooms. When we checked in we were impressed with how organised she was as she took our orders for breakfast and what time we would like it ready. We had also booked an early evening meal to soak up the impending alcohol! We both opted for the burger, which was beautifully cooked, the onion rings were wonderfully crisp and the skin on fries very tasty. Reasonably priced and quick service. We would both recommend for either dining and/or an overnight stay - we will be back. Thank you Amy for your wonderful hospitality 😊

Came in for a meal between 5 and 6 and was extremely taken back by the landlady’s treatment of her staff members and arrival of customers. Will not be returning to an establishment who can treat their staff members and paying customers with such disgusting mannerisms. After a lovely day at Burghley we wanted a peaceful meal, however could not relax due to hearing her bellowing from the bar with all the volume but little movement! Overall the visit felt uncomfortable and distasteful, maybe she needs a career change or to employ a full time manager to take the ropes.

This is a lovely pub or could be. The food, the waiting staff were excellent, however the manager needs some management skills. The way she deals with her staff is nothing short of rude.she barks out her orders as if she was in the army. The pub says cocktails, not if she decides they are not doing them. Cocktails are not on tonight . We felt very uncomfortable with her whole attitude. We probably won’t go back because of her, which is a shame but don’t think she will give a hoot.

What a let down, website promises much more than they delivered. Started with a warm, friendly welcome and it just went downhill from there. Advised on arrival no cooked breakfast would be available, only a continental which normally wouldn’t be an issue but it wasn’t a continental breakfast that I’ve ever been presented with in all my years of travelling. Tried to negotiate eggs of some sort but was very well ignored. Room was ok, nice clean bedding but a rip in the headboard and the bed frame base all frayed and could feel the springs in the mattress. Coffee/tea stains on the bedroom door. Hospitality tray lacked any tea and a dirty cup which I had to ask to he changed. Lady who checked us in explained there was a residents entrance to the side to save us walking through the pub, not the most inviting entrance as their was a couple of piles of rubbish. Booked a table for evening meal. Three of the dishes on the menu were not available. Breakfast to be really honest was a joke, that is not a reflection on the staff member who was serving as she was really helpful but it certainly wasn’t continental.

A new pub stop for us, this hostelry mixes the old and new inertia well. The bar is well stocked and the food menu has a fair choice on it. The outside of the building looks how you imagine an old public house to look in this area as in the listings picture, which is inviting and homely. Inside we were welcomed in a gentleman whose attire was not one would have expected from front of house staff tracksuit top etc, We should have realised that this may be reflected in the food! We thought well we were hungry we will stay.We ordered from the specials of the day:- Minced beef and onion pie with vegetables (£12.95) and my wife had pan fried bream and vegetables(£9.25}When the food arrived the presentation was poor it looked like a child had put it on the plate, No sorry that's an insulting to children as I've seen them do far better at my sons school! There was a huge lump of mashed potato on both plates bigger than my fist (I have large hands XL gloves) The fillet of sea bream (not whole fish) was draped over the potato, the very large carrots were sliced had no taste, a sprig and a 1/2 of broccoli and cauliflower which was very al dente and a heaped soup spoon of peas.My Pie was not a pie it was a porcelain dish with a puff pastry top cooked separately in an oven and placed on top. So not a pie in any language! the gravy was over seasoned so you could not taste the minced beef. My wifes fish did taste of fish but the ground pepper on top of it should have been on the side or left off, pepper is not everyone's choice. We did say about the lack of presentation on the plate to the young man that served us and other comments, Thanks for the feedback!!Not reassuring when it seemed a normal rehearsed reply. We shall not be stopping here again.

Bacon and sausage etc at breakfast were also very tasty. The accommodation is good, clean and well appointed - and the road outside never seemed too loud. We intend to return and would recommend this establishment heartily.

We stayed here because we had a family party in the village. This turned out to be a great choice. Lovely pub friendly staff and a good choice of gin. Our room was very pleasant in shabby chic style. It had a comfy bed a nice tv and air-con, and was very clean. Breakfast was great quality and as much as you could eat. Lovely fruit pastries and yogurt choices on the continental option too. We would certainly recommend and stay again.

Very polite and welcoming waiting staff however the food was extremely disappointing.A bit of constructive criticism as it’s such a lovely pub, no where near enough sandwich filling (an embarrassingly small about of tuna) and half cooked chips. The bread was simply just wholemeal, certainly not sliced granary. For £7.95 a sandwich I would expect more than two slices of dry bread and uncooked chips.

Its been ages since we have been to the Collyweston Slater but so glad we did...geat team of youngsters serving drinks and food..but what value..Wow! and the Quantity.!!!!!!!..we all left saying we had never had so much food at a pub before....two of us had gammon and we both received two huge gammon slices, two eggs and two slices of pineapple...we just could not eat it all....we asked for doggy bags to take the extra slice home with us. One of us had the lamb shank and said it was the best he had had! Yes the Collyweston is a pub but well worth a visit any day for a good hearty meal.

We were led to believe this was above average - ho hum... Service, whilst friendly, was slow. Finding a wine list took some 20 minutes. After another reuest when it arrived it was crumpled and stained. As it was warm night we decided to eat outside - tables could have done with a good wipe, and the floor had obviously not seen a sweep for some time - cigarette ends all over the place. Menu was nothing more than average selection of pub food, and from arrival to food arriving took one hour. On the plus sign - food was hot, and acceptable, portion size - substantial. (No need for a starter.)

Went to Mrs B s on Saturday. Cappachino was brilliant. Plenty of Tea. Hot scones as well. Staff lovely. Waitress service which makes a change. Great value for money.

We have been here several times now because the food is great, the staff are very helpful and friendly, and they are dog friendly. There is a choice of sitting inside or outside. The menu offers a good variety of dishes and the helpings are generous and reasonably priced. It has become a firm favourite of mine and I hope to visit many times more. There is an added bonus of a farm shop where I regularly buy fresh, long dated, local farm eggs and a variety of different flavoured heavy fruit cake. Thoroughly recommended.

The service was friendly but there was only us four there. We didn’t know it had turned into an Indian restaurant but we decided to stay and try the food. The food was lovely but mine was a bit cold so I asked for it to be warmed up. A day later I’ve got food poisoning sickness and diarrhoea and so have my friends who had joined me to eat there so I would look at your hygiene cleanliness unless it was reheating chicken I’m not sure but we are all ill now.
