Go there to eat on a regular basis, went last night (Sat) ,and there was a Dj with music on, which we don't mind but the music was so loud, you had to shout at the people behind the bar to make yourself heard, and it was impossible to have a normal conversation, and i was not the a only one complaining, I went to the bar and complained and the answer i got was (l know its to loud) and that was it

So myself and my partner went out for a family meal with our newborn baby and our two friends. The evening started fine we had a few nice drinks and some food but then it took a terrible turn when my fiancé went to the bar to get some more drinks and the ASSISTANT MANAGER “Alisha” asked for all our IDs which we all happily provided (also been served alcohol all evening but even so we had no problem showing her our IDs) but she then refused to serve me my drink as I could not go up to the bar as I was feeding my newborn, my fiancé tried to explain this to her but she was having non of it he then asked her to explain why and she refused to explain then refused to serve him his drink also!! For ABSOLUTELY NO REASON other than him asking for an explanation. When I had finished feeding our newborn baby I then went to get myself a drink which I brought back to the table. I had sat down for ten minutes began to drink my drink and then “Alisha” came over to the table snatched away the drink from infront of me and took it away, with no explanation, she didn’t even have enough respect to tell us what was going on. For a member of staff to do this let alone an assistant manager, I am appalled! After that a lovely member of staff then issued me with a refund after I had explained the situation which should have never took place in the first place!!! I mean if I was in the wrong then surely I wouldn’t be getting issued a refund? As a manager I expect much better customer service, less attitude and even just a slight bit of HUMAN DECENCY would be nice towards your customers. To be treated with such disrespect was really disappointing….. It is a real shame for this lovely local pub to be let down so badly by one individual, we will definitely not be returning after this experience and nor will we recommend the place to anyone!!!!

The Colebrook is a large traditional looking pub with a smart contemporary interior, plus a good sized and well kept outside area. The food is excellent and served promptly by smart and friendly staff. The atmosphere is welcoming and the real ale choice is good and changes regularly. We last went on quiz night on Thursday and had an excellent night of food, drinks and fun

I am a mystery shopper and have been asked to review a number of public houses, albeit not this establishment. That said, the Colebrook ticks all the boxes I would normally be asked to comment upon, from the outside of the establishment, the welcome, the staff, the service, food delivery times, toilet cleanliness etc. and would not hesitate visiting this establishment again.

We had had quite good reports for this pub but were very disappointed. The outside paint work on the pub from the carpark was in need of TLC but inside it was very busy which is usually a good sign. The table however was not very clean. We possibly made the mistake of having the special lunch menu, we both had the same barbecued chicken wings which came in a small bowl to difficult to eat with a knife and fork as bowl too small so ended up eating with fingers so had to get up and go and wash hands when finished . They were quite dry, next course fish and chips, chips and mushy peas fine and I will say in their favour everything was hot but the fish was a disgrace the whole lot was nearly all batter the tiniest bit of fish inside and I do mean tiniest we ended up leaving all the batter no staff around to complain to or ask for the pepper pot to be filled which was completely empty, does no one check these things. I certainly would not rush back and could not recommend to any one. I did not expect a lot but I did expect better pub grub

Enjoyed good food at a reasonable price. Even though it was very busy and the staff were under pressure, they managed to serve the customers as efficiently as possibly with a smile and a calm manner. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, the evening was enjoyed by all.

The Colebrook is our local 'go to' pub for a good cheap lunch and never disapoints. We have a loyalty card and last week we were treated to a free bottle of prosecco for my husbands birthday! The meal was good, the service amazing considering there was a large party in and the staff friendly and helpful. No idea why I haven't left a review before but theses guys deserve an excellent one!

We normally love the Colebrook but, today, our visit was spoilt by a very loud, swearing customer who really ruined the atmosphere. Nothing can be done about that you might think, but he was sat with two people in Ember Inns uniforms who did absolutely nothing to stop him. Two out of five because my husband really enjoyed the beer, as ever.

We visited today at 2pm.. not particularly busy inside.. we ordered 3 sandwiches... had to wait an hour! Absolutely ridiculous.. maximum waiting time in any eatery should be no more than 40 minutes and that's in a busy restaurant! Never again

As we'd been sent a 50% off main meals voucher, dropped in today for lunch. When the meals arrived, I had cause to take mine back as the onion rings were frozen solid! No apologies at the bar when I took my plate back and no apologies when my food was brought back to the table. Quite clear that these 50% off vouchers are bringing customers in, but if they're only serving sub-standard meals, then it's not much of an incentive to return, is it. We all understand that businesses such as the Colebrook are struggling immensely in the current climate, but delivering sub standard service and sub standard food are definitely NOT the way forward. We will be giving our custom to our local Wetherspoon's in the future as they always serve up good quality food at affordable prices and don't rely upon gimmicky discounts to bring customers through their doors. Sorry Shiv, but we think you've lost the plot...

Dreadful experience which should have been a pleasant one on a special occasion with family. The dictator proposing to enforce a policy that is not law in the name of Covid safety (on the door) is a complete farce as you had to download their app to then track and trace and then order and pay online for safety apparently which is fair enough if they comply themselves which they do not. What is the point if their staff lean right over you to collect plates with the mask around their neck and not on their face. Complete lunacy and totally spoilt what was supposed to be a happy occasion. Food was not up to an acceptable standard either. Never again!!

The staff lie about who is management for a start. Customer service skills are dreadful, bald member of staff is a jobs worth and needs to grow up and get a proper job. The furniture collapses, they lied about cctv working as well, would definitely not attended.

Went here for a meal for my sons 2 birthday. The team couldn't do enough for us even though they were rushed off there feet with the new rules. I observed so much cleaning of tables menus etc even though they where busy they made sure everyone was sticking to the regulations. Our food came out promptly and hot. So far i have been waiting 40 minutes since they put the cutlery down on our table.....this is some kind of new torture i have never experienced before. The manager (one with blonde hair power tripping) has continously barked orders at customers....they're not deaf, but it seems this is the only way of communication in here. They bought pepper to the table, no salt...is this the kind of world we live in now? Rather have shopped in Tescos and got a meal deal...

I came here with my family for a family roast dinner... most of us had a roast dinner, of which we were very much looking forward to... until they forgot half of the stuff that was meant to come with it such as roast potatoes and stuffing balls, etc... on top of this they completely forgot to bring out one roast dinner so we had to wait 30 minutes for it to finally arrive alongside the extra two pots of cauliflower cheese, by this time we'd all finished eating. On top of all of this wed booked two tables of six next to each other as the limit due to coronavirus is six, however upon arrival we were told that we could not sit next to each other as they'd given our table away... but apparently wed be in the same section and be able to wave at each other... we complained and then saw a family getting kicked out due to the lack of proffesionalism this place has. We will never return! the service was disgusting, the food was gross the potatoes were hard the stuffing was burnt, the cauliflower cheese tasted of toilet water, the turkey was dry, the prawns were hard... so my advice to you is never to come here and to stay away! Coming from table 41 and 42.

Been here quite a few times before lockdown. Visited it with family members today ( Wednesday 15th July) and Ryan explained everything by the main door about social distancing and ordering on line using their app. Congrats to Shiv for getting Colebrook up and running. An ideal venue to meet up with friends we had booked a table for ten that was ideal for us to sit round and chat the meals were very good I had the two course option chicken breast with a jacket potato and my favorite sweet brambly apple pie. The staff was excellent a very enjoyable Friday lunchtime. Well worth a visit.

First time here for myself but my partners family have visited occasionally and raved about the food and drinks.Sadly the weather during our visit affected the kitchens grill which meant no steaks or gammon... this wasnt an issue for me as I work in a kitchen myself and had this happen to me. The kitchen team still worked so hard and did their best with what they had and I applaud you all! Hats off!Gentleman at the bar who served us, I believe a duty manager was very lovely and kind to us, but not overbearing.Our food was great, no complaints from our table of 6. Drinks were great, the lines must get cleaned regularly for drinks to come out as fresh as that! Don’t know about you but sometimes I like posh and expensive and sometimes I like good quality and good value. And that’s exactly what the Colebrook is! Tonight my husband and I both had the haddock and chips which were really tasty and well-cooked. Oh, by the way, Suzanne and Anthony are both a credit to you - providing customer service at its best. We love the Colebrook!

One of our friends booked for 30 people for our Christmas meal. Service was poor, couples who ordered together one got mealk and had eaten it before the other, in fact the one had eaten theirs and the other had to wait a further 30 mins. No organisation, table numbers taken but meals didnt arrive together, it was more 'who ordered fish and chips' etc. And individuals had to put hands up. Puddings arrived 'willy nilly', person who ordered just ice cream got it as the rest of the party was leaving. This is not aimed at the serving staff or kitchen staff, it was clear that there were not enough staff on duty, which is a management issue. This party was booked in weeks ago.

Pretty regular hear since 2015, my most recent visit was with friends who were visiting from Ireland (They know what a good pub is) and the beer, service and atmosphere were all great. I would especially recommend this pub to real ale drinkers with names such as Ubu, Mad goose and Proper job often making appearances.

Decided to go to the Colebrook for some lunch with our two toddlers. Staff were really friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere of the pub was lovely. However the food was probably the worst I have had in a long time. We didn't complain (never have) as this is just not our nature and we don't like to make a fuss however I have decided to write a review this time as was so shocked at the poor quality of food. My mom and I ordered a bloomer sandwich and the bread was so stale we were unable to swallow it. Really disappointing. The children's nuggets were also very pale in colour and didn't look very appetising. Such a shame as seems like a nice pub but just not up to scratch on food.

I met my friend for a few drinks last night and ordered a little snack. I ordered some mock chicken balls. These were rock hard, burnt and inedible. When the waiter collected my plate with burnt rock hard food still on it. I said that was inedible, he said oh sorry about that. That was it. Also my expensive dry white wine was warm. I’m not at all impressed and won’t be going there again.

The Colebrook used to be our local pub which my partner and I used to visit often for food and drinks. We’re only a short drive away now but still pop in for some pub grub and drinks as we love how relaxing and welcoming it is in there - we stay hours! The food isn’t anything to shout about, it’s just standard tasty pub food but the prices are very, very reasonable. You can’t really go wrong with three courses for £10, not small portions either! The drinks are also reasonably priced for the area and there’s always lots of choice. I’m a gin drinker and there always seems to be a new one to try when I’m there which is great!All in all, fab pub with great food and alcohol... and argue with that!

Having been here before I chose the Colebrook to have a family celebration meal for my 50th birthday. When the table was booked I was told by a family member about signing up for a newsletter and getting a birthday Prosecco treat so I did this as it was a special occasion. Nothing arrived in my emails so after a few days I emailed the Colebrook and explained this but I never received a reply. I mentioned it at the bar and was told there was nothing that could be done regarding this. My food was average, the crispy mushrooms were overcooked and the broccolli raw, my chips sounded lovely on the menu but tasted like oven chips and were nothing special. On the plus side our waiter was very helpful and friendly. Personally it was such a special occasion I wished I had chosen somewhere else to celebrate as this was quite a disappointment especially as it was with family members who live in Wales so its not often we get to see each other.

Over ‘friendly’ table staff, referring to people as ‘Darling ‘ or ‘Sweet’. When a very polite complaint was made about the virtually raw broccoli- the response was ‘well we are damned if we do and damned if we don’t ‘ meaning if we cook it longer we get complaints that it’s too soft so we can’t win. Before we left we were treated a disingenuous ‘hope you have a great afternoon and look forward to seeing you soon’ Sounded like it was the 90th time he had said it since his shift started. This is only my second review on Trip Advisor . The first was after a disappointing (to say the least) visit to another local pub. My wife , quite rightly, suggested that I review our real 'local' and so as to balance out exactly what you can experience in our local area.

It seemed like a nice pub which is nearby but we’ve never visited. Went for family Sunday dinner. It was reasonably nice inside, ale was ok and the staff replaced a white wine soda that had been done with lemonade in error with no quibble. Service was prompt and the burger and steak pie and chips dinner the kids had were great but the steak I had was tough and over cooked and my wife’s veggie filo parcel (which came served with Yorkshire Pud and Sunday veg) and was underwhelming.

Decided to try a local pub for food and was absolutely impressed with the quality of the food. Yes a lot of the menu is your standard pub fare but there are quite a few add ones that raise the bar just that bit above very good. Excellent service from the bar staff to the food server, very friendly staff.

There is so much to love about the Colebrook- tasty food and great prices. But, for the love of God, please get some staff who actually look as though they enjoy working there! The woman who served us tonight was thoroughly miserable and not welcoming in the slightest. Anthony & Suzanne are both great but everyone else looks like they’d rather be anywhere else! We come to the Colebrook regularly and generally think it is great - literally the only downside is the unwelcoming staff. Sort it out and everything would be perfect!

Came here today sat in garden watching Bowles , nice little sun trap . Lovely staff , welcoming and friendly , no problem ordering drinks straight away you get served very clean tables and the food looked lovely , must visit again soon
