Visited Café X mid-morning on 09/09/2020. Café have a good Covid-19 protection system in place whereby you order at the main entrance window, & your food is handed out another window. The lady who served us was also friendly and helpful. I order the SMALL breakfast, that as you can see on the menu is £7.00. Plastic cutlery. Coffee is disappointing Instant Coffee, although it is advertised as Instant. The toast had no flavour whatsoever and tasted like cheap nasty budget wholemeal bread. It really was rank. Possibly reheated. Not enough butter either. The egg wasn't runny, it looked like it had been flipped over or possibly even reheated, it was fairly tough. The bacon was unsmoked and although it was nice and thick, it was fairly fatty and tasted cheap quality / greasy. The hash brown and black pudding, yeah OK I guess, but I have had way better. Now, I could forgive all this if the price reflected the quality of the product. But it doesn't. Much too expensive for poor quality food. If this has cost me £4.00 I probably wouldn't quibble as the cost and quality would match somewhat. We won't be eating here again, we had slightly dicky stomachs afterwards too. It is a shame, as if you bought better quality produce, got a far better chef, kept the prices the same and made the presentation better, you would have a roaring repeat customer base given you are situated on the A47. But im sorry, as you are, it's far too disappointing.

Brilliant service, the lady that served us was lovely and very helpful, just take away at the moment due to Corona but our breakfast was very good, hot and tasty and good portions, tables outside so we sat on the little green with our dog, we stop by every year for breakfast in and out of Norfolk and have never been disappointed, long may it continue as you can't beat a proper English breakfast on your way to holiday and it's the only one on this stretch of road .

Visited by car today after reading mixed reviews. Not sure what the fuss is about. The gorilla's mentioned by others previously were a charity item for Macmillans - what an excellent charity to support. Friendly and attentive staff, the place was basic but clean and being cleaned again as we left. The further up the breakfast menu the better the deals so don't try to be a cheapskate. Considering tea/coffee and 2 rounds of toast are included it wasn't bad value. Will definitely be going back on my bike!

Ordered 4 breakfasts. On one of them we asked for no black pudding and tomatoes. (Would you like a/more of was not asked. Wherever we have eaten have always been asked this.) Drinks came out quickly and food shortly followed. Order included three lots of toast, two came out and one of bread and butter. Ok, could deal with that. Three meals here and still waiting for one. After five minutes asked and told it was just being plated up. They had obviously missed it. It arrived and when it did was given an extra sausage to make up for the wait ( shame as they were awful) and the egg was missing. At this point I had given up and did not mention the egg. And then the toast arrived. I am thinking whose bread and butter did I have lol. Despite this, on our way home from holiday, a few days later we tried again. We asked to swap the sausage (see previous comment) for mushrooms. Yes, we could, but would incure a 50p charge as mushrooms more expensive than sausage (that says it all). I could go on but I will stop here.

08:45 on a weekday morning the only customers in there, expensive Full breakfast options with coffee instant or americano it’s name defies it. Having picked our set option we have no mushrooms, there is a shop Nextdoor, no money off offered. Food was only average, fried eggs had been flipped over and only Luke warm, they need a re think this place on the A47 should be buzzing.

After searching ages for food we stumbled across the coffee tree experience and noticed on the sign they did an all day breakfast, pleasantly delighted we parked up the car and ventured to the cafe. The welcome we got was a huge ‘huff’ by the kitchen staff. They had a guy behind the counter, with his belly out wiping sweat of his face, which was off putting enough. My partner quickly used the toilet before dinner had arrived and was suffocated by the stench of urine that reminded him of a cat litter tray, once seated we only had to wait ten minutes for food which is very quick so I was impressed by this however the chef that brought the food over looked like she just worked 48 hours in Hell’s Kitchen, other than that the food was good. There were teenagers who were probably the owners kids watching us eat, felt like we had an audience watching me chomp my delicious sausage.

Highly recommended! Thanks to Jo and the team we couldn’t have wished for anything more x

The ladies working at the coffee tree couldn't have been more friendly to our family when we stopped off on our return trip from Hunstanton. We were all very tired and hungry and the children were crying and irritable but when we arrived there was plenty of spacious seating; a changing table for my baby (albeit basic); clean toilets and a very well priced cafe menu. Service was friendly and efficient and the ladies went out of there way to make us feel welcome: bringing water to heat the baby's bottle, chatting to our other toddler about his holiday; the kids made their usual racket but they didn't bat an eyelid! Wanted to write a nice review to say thank you. We will definitely be back next time we head to the seaside!

Sandwich was great and not expensive. I can remember when this was a little chef! Its an improvement for sure with a good menu and drinks choice. They have a bike night on Weds and Friday. Also music apparently too

Or is it?! Going to Norfolk from the Midlands? Need a brew? I've been riding past this place for years...it used to be a little chef and a sex shop, although not at the same time! Until recently it's always been closed when I've passed but they seemed to have upped their game. What you see is a dated truck stop building... But don't let that put you off. What you get is a Damn fine Lavazza coffee and a good simple menu...I had the breakfast sub and it very nearly beat me!Friendly and relaxed staff too...even made me a coffee when I pulled in on my bike 20 minutes after closing time!

To avoid the traffic jam due to a crash at Thorney on Friday 17th June 2016, i pulled in to this great cafe with lots of parking, the girl there taking orders had a great sense of humour and was really nice. The place including the loo`s are spotless, you will be sat in a very spacious room, with a huge window, on Wednesdays they have bands for the biker eveningThere is plenty of food to chose from, i went for the £4.00 burger with everything including a big hash brown and a mug of tea (£1.50) both were lovely. This is a great family stop as opposed to the American super chains with their tiny portions, you will fill up the family for a lot less, they will be full longer and you will have plenty of room and it is so much quieter than those industrial feeding stations.Top TipDo not be tempted to use the petrol station next door the unleaded was £124.9 per liter and £112.9 per liter and their are two garages just down the road at £108.9 per liter

I don't normally write bad reviews, but in this case...On a long journey you need a break. I try to go to independents if possible, but this wasn't great.I found it strange that they were closing at 1530. Surely this is the sort of place that should be open 0700-2300?It's not terrible - the food was ok, but simple and very limited in choice. Coffee was ok and the staff - whilst not the most outgoing in the world, were competent and friendly enough. I also felt it was really good value - I might have expected a bill 50% more than I paid. (Maybe that's conditioning from visiting far too many overpriced places!)However, the place was a little cold (not great on a cold day), and the overall feel of the place was 'caff' rather than 'cafe'.With a bit of money spent and imagination, this place could be a lot better. It's a great location and benefits from lots of parking. Why not make it better?

I stopped in at the Coffee Tree for lunch and found it typical of roadside snack establishments. There was sufficient parking and the dining area was spacious and clean. The layout is a cross of cafe with stuffed furnishing on one wall and diner like tables. The centre table featured an oversized guerrilla advertising for charity. The server was friendly but somewhat detached from what was going on at the tables when not actually taking an order or serving. I had a latte which was of good quality and a jacket potato which was on the smallish side and slightly overcooked. It was accompanied by a few lettuce leaves and slices of tomato. The cheese on it was fairly tasty however. This is not fine dining, but it is a convenient coffee/snack bar.

We recently thought we would give the 'Coffee Tree Xperience' a go. I'm a big coffee fan, so I was intrigued by the name and went there for some brunch. We ordered our drinks and I opted for a flat white, the "barista" (I say that very loosely) snapped at me "do you know what that is?!" I replied that I did and she snapped again "are you sure? y'know its a double shot of espresso don'tcha?" I again replied that I did and she said "I ave to ask.." You didn't, I've never been asked in any coffee shop before, why would someone order something not knowing what it was?We also ordered some food via a young girl who was shouted at to come and take our food order. She looked quite young and not very happy to be working on her weekend. Our food took quite a while to come out and one of our parties food was missing. There was no explanation and when we went to ask we were abruptly told it was on its way before we could even finish asking.. It eventually came out after we all had finished our meals. The excuse given for that they were busy preparing for a buffet event they were holding later on..The food was average, the coffee was below average. And the service was rubbish. There was nothing that made it feel like a coffee shop, it's basically just a cafe with an espresso machine, there is certainly no experience.I am a little dubious of the reviews below as well.. Since when does a customer submitting a review go as far as giving the phone number out and a roll call of all of the facilities..Avoid.

Customers looked our way, highly embarrassing..would not expect this sort of greeting, why not just say "sorry guys we were just closing" If we hadnt have been so tired from all the travelling she wouldve been put in her place. This spot is great for meeting up with friends any time of the day. Breakfast runs into Brunch. Brunch runs into lunch and I've had afternoon tea which is a 10/10 experience. The service is always friendly and efficient. The menu is small but varied and covers all tastes and dietary requirements. Presentation is excellent. The atmosphere at The Potting Shed is very relaxed and friendly. It is dog friendly too.
