Cassanos in Fenland

We happened upon this place quite by chance and wow! what a Sunday lunch we had. Delicious, home cooked food and plenty of it - roast beef, lamb , pork, turkey. Huge array of fresh veg too. Really friendly and helpful staff. Altogether a great experience. Highly recommend.

Poor service, and dingy surroundings, carvery meat was dry and vegetables were poorly cooked, watery cauliflower and leak, hard peas and tasteless carrots, A very disappointing experience all round, if this is the best the Fens has to offer I'd sooner eat at home.

So far I've only been there for meetings and a drink

Superb Sunday lunch.Everything perfectly cooked.Roast beef and turkey excellent.Recommend the sticky toffee with custard.This is how it should taste.Pensioner portions if you don't want a large meal and all at a reasonable price.IPA too. Book now. Suggest needs a rubber ramp to ease access for wheelchair users.

We have just used Cassanos as our wedding reception venue and for our catering and entertainment. I want to say a big big huge massive thank you to them for their incredible hospitality. The food, the organisation of the day everything was brilliant. Thanks so much especially to Nadia, you worked so hard to make our day brilliant 👏 Cannot thank you enough, would highly recommend for catering and as venue hire, absolutely brilliant.

Sat here listening to music having a quiet half. There are 2 other paying customers in the bar. Bar man asks the men in the bar if they want to watch footy. I'm not consulted. They put on footy in Welsh!! And I'm drinking up and leaving. I will not return. The sports bar is 2 mins up the road. If I wanted footy I'd go in there. And if I wanted it in Welsh I'd goto Wales!!

Very good value for money and tasty . Kevin Nadia and staff very friendly and a decent pint of Guinness on tap .. Highly recommended. Armed forces veterans meet on first Saturday of month excellent atmosphere and banter..

Disappointed as could not accommodate me at 12.15pm lunch time, I person, saying I would make them run out of food as cooked to exact numbers 🤔🤔, lots of empty seats, can't comment on food as didn't get that far😞

As a family we decided to have our Christmas dinner here and we were not disappointed. Everything was cooked to perfection and the staff were friendly and helpful. Starters included Melon and seasonal fruits, Pate with Granary bread and Scotch egg. Mains included Turkey, Beef and Pork served with trimmings roast potatoes, vegetable's, pig's in blanket, and yorkshire pudding. Dessert ranged from Christmas pudding, Apple pie, Raspberry and White chocolate Cheesecake. This was followed by cheese and biscuits and a glass of port. Compliments to the staff for their hard work.

The food was good, the atmosphere was good but there was no microbrewery, very hoppy real ale. Hence, a star less.

The best Sunday lunch around! The food was amazing so tasty and well cooked. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be coming back!

Great Sunday carvery excellent value

It started with our reservation being lost, despite making it two weeks prior and ringing up the day before to confirm. We were fortunately found a small table which was clearly for 2 but 3 of us had to make do in a dark corner of the restaurant. (Table 25). The carvery to be fair was very nice but we ordered pudding and chased after half and hour and told it was on its way. After another 10 minutes we got up and left. The bill was paid with no offer of a discount for all the inconvenience, although an apology was given. I wlll not be returning

Took our family for the Sunday lunch. Very busy. Service appalling - we had to get our own drinks. Waitress eventually got our bottle of wine - no glasses! Kept getting ignored when we requested anything, such as a napkin. Carvery was below average - dried out meat, overcooked veg, lack of condiments. We had to retrieve napkins from our table to handle the plates - can they not have napkins at the servery.. Our son asked for 2 slices of beef - the server cut one in half so he got 2! It was a massive roast, and given it was 2.30pm why be so mean. Food closes at 3pm. No gloves used by server at carvery. Our table was so sticky I literally had to use 2 hands to get my glass off! Really shocking. Incredible that people flock to this place.

i went for my mums mothers day with my family and nan we had roast turkey and pork the food was out of this world the turkey was so tender roast were big and crunchy all of the food was beautiful and amazing great bar workers and customer service i would like to thank the staff and Kevin the chef and friend and his team and the managers of behalf of my family thank u for making my mum the best mothers day she could have

What a night out, absolutely cracking nights out at this venue, from family meal in the evening to the night club late at from 10pm £4 entry fee prices go up the later the night goes on, last entry at 1am, open until 2am, the bar staff where fast and happy to be working here, door staff on hand to deal with those that have had to much, overall a brilliant bar/nightclub 👍👍👍

We had our Christmas party last night catered for by Kevin and his team they catered for about 180 people the food was excellent and Thanks to Nadias organisational skills it run very smoothly going back for Sunday lunch today as it’s definitely the best place to eat in March

I moved to March a few months ago and had heard good things about the food at Cassanos so I thought I would try the Sunday roast it was excellent the best Sunday roast I have had the roast beef was cooked to perfection the owner Kevin cooks hit all and does a brilliant job. The staff were lovely and very professional will definitely be going there again

Attended Cassanos for a wake, after a family funeral. Positives: * Loads of seats & tables * Good selection of food - and food tasted fantastic!! * Plenty of helpful staff * We was actively encouraged to take left over food home - reduced food wastage Negatives: * No food labelling (sometimes food contents not obvious, for example I picked up a cheese & onion roll in error as I thought it was a sausage roll - I avoid eating onion's as they dont agree with me) * Ladies toilets where clean, but the general decor / small space did not give you that luxury feel (I realise this is a difficult ask though, as at weekends the venue is used as a nightclub and patrons regularly trash the toilets) Overall I would return & recommend the venue for family functions

The picture of the Sunday Roast does it no justice. Although iv been told its lovely.. Its a shame that picture went on the app.. Can't see no veg ect. Meat pots and spuds. I would not pay for that. Plz put up a full pic of a full roast from carvery. As I know how good it is. Only one star for pic . But when I get mine I will take photo and show you a 5star rating.

Friendly staff, great atmosphere, 1st class service

Always a pleasure eating here at this spotlessly clean restaurant. The food is basic, always well presented and tasty. Landlord Kevin who is also the chef, is welcoming and nothing pleases him more than to see people enjoying themselves. Always worth a visit.

Good place for a night out with the friends

Visited here whilst passing through on holiday in the area. Upon arrival it was no e to see the Manager taking our temperature, name/contact details in accordance with Covid systems which was reassuring. Me and my partner opted for ice cream, waffle and tea, all of which arrived promptly, hot and tasty. Staff service was polite and helpful. Atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Overall a pleasant experience was had.

Had my 40th birthday here and the staff were amazing from start to finish. Gave me all day to set up. Nothing was too much trouble. Good corkage fees and drink prices. Highly recommend x

fairly fun place for a night out

Went there for Sunday carvery and found it to be probably the best carvery I have ever had. Very generous portions of meats and help yourself to the 10 varieties of vegetables. Could not find a fault with anything, and will certainly be revisiting on a regular basis.

Food OK. As a last resort, roast potatoes hard and chewy.

We ensure we eat here on a regular basis. The highlight is their Sunday carvery which is one of the best in the area. This Christmas, as with every Christmas, the Christmas Day meal was second to none. Kevin, top man, makes sure everything is of the highest quality. His manager, Nadia and her staff ensure that everything is of silver service standard. We have eaten here for many, many years now and are always impressed with the food and service that Kevin and his excellent team provide. Give them a visit when you next hanker for a Sunday roast. Booking strongly advised.

I went with my grandparents and the food was absolutely amazing. The service was perfect as they were so kind and the chief gives you however much meat you want. The range of food is amazing as you can choose different vegetables and it has different sauces to choose included gravy. I think that the food is perfect for the price and they also do party's and special events for different people.

First time here attending a wedding reception. Place looks old and tired. Obviously fitted the budget for the married couple! Reasonable layout with bar up front, function area & disco room with decked/covered area out the back for the smokers. Hefty drinks prices too. Could be something special if invested in...

Booked a visit for Sunday lunch a couple weeks ago, we were all very impressed with the choice on offer at the carvery, beef pork and turkey, plus roast and New potatoes, seasonal vegetables. I have to say, I am not a 'roast dinner' person, since I don't care for roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding or anything involving gravy! However, I chose the turkey (moist and tender) and a selection of veggies, and the roast parsnips were fabulous. All in all an excellent meal was had by all, in a very pleasant atmosphere. We will return😊👌👌

Best carvery in the local area. Suitable for family, or friends parties and most delicious choice of high quality food. We find it necessary to book in advance for Sundays.

When thinking of a special celebration we always choose Cassanos. The excellent standardes of food and service are what draws so many people and it is wise, we have found, to book in advance or you are not able to get in, especially on Sundays. Wide choice of vegetarian as well as one of the best carvery choices we have found. The meats, in particular, are specially sought and cooked to perfection, plus there is such a wealth of delicious vegetables to choose from. Also, the owner personally supervises everything and is friendly with his customers which brings a happy atmosphere to the occasion.

As this has been the scene of many parties for us over the past two years, we feel particularly it is suitable for any celebration. The food is extraordinarily good, especially the Sunday Carvery, and friends always praise it when we take them. There is also a choice of vegetarian dishes if you are Vegan or Vegetarian. A happy atmosphere and pleasant, friendly staff with an owner who is also kindly and makes you welcome. A regular choice for a lot of local people so booking in advance is advised, or even essential in holiday weekends.

We have been using Cassano’s for Sunday carvery for years and years and seems to get better every time. The food prepared is top quality and served by Kevin McCourt who goes out of his way to make sure everyone is happy with their food and the service provided by his excellent team. You are GUARANTEED to enjoy your visit. Highly recommended that you pre book your table as it gets very busy. Enjoy.

My grand-daughter and I had Sunday Lunch at Cassanos recently. When we entered the dining room we were over-powered by the strong smell of cooking. Not good! The staff were very helpful and polite. There was a choice of three roast meats and a good selection of vegetables, which were all cooked to my taste. Unfortunately, when we left the restaurant my coat and other clothing had absorbed the cooking smells, and when I got home I had to hang my coat outside on the washing line to get ride of the odours. I think they should invest in a better extractor fan in the kitchen to prevent this problem in the future!

Difficult to quantify how this has improved since our last visit but it has, maybe it was the greater selection of veg, maybe that it was a warm welcome, although some of the serving staff could learn to make eye contact and smile - service was polite and efficient. Food was hot and veg was replenished regularly and as mentioned there was a large choice. Good value for money.

Went for the /sunday cravery advertised on the website at £10.50. Didn't book and arrived at about 3pm. Staff were polite and unobtrusive, tables laid nicely with clean linen. There was a choice of beef or turkey and I was given a massive portion of turkey. Quite a variety of vegetables - was nonplussed at the large lumps in the mashed swede, potatoes could have been cooked a little more, cauliflower cheese was the only hot thing on my plate everything else being luke warm. Plenty of yorkshire puddings which were flat and tough but no trimmings like stuffing or chipolatas to go with the turkey. Best thing was the gravy. Went to pay the bill and by the till was a notice saying that prices had been increased, having checked the price on the website prior to my visit (and again today - 2 days later) this did not please me at all.
