Our go to for a dirty chai latte and carrot cake in St Ives. Friendly staff and lovely coffee and homemade cakes (vegan too should you have dietary requirements). Small little café and yet to have lunch but have only heard good things!

I visited in December 2019 and had a takeaway sea salt brownie. I love the chocolate and sea salt combination usually but this was inedible. It was stale, and tasted like eating salt dough. Far too much salt had been put into the batter. I was also given an absolutely tiny piece - the brownies were in jars and all the jars were full, the shop was empty and the piece I was given was half the size of some of the others in the jar. I don’t know whether that might have been because the girl behind the counter was unhappy at ending her conversation with a friend to serve me.

A few minutes' walk from the seafront or the main shopping street, this is a small coffee shop with only a few seats, but the coffee is good and the staff are friendly. A good choice for a relaxing cup away from the crowds.

This is only a small coffee shop but it is bright and airy and in a great town centre location. They have a great selection of teas and coffees, although most of the flavours are from syrups. You have to walk through the next door office to reach the toilet which was a little strange, but it is a nice place to chill and drink good coffee.

We stumbled down the hill from the train without a plan and ducked in here to regroup. Very pleased to have found decent coffee (and I have very high standards).

We were visiting St Ives for 3 days and every day I was starting my way down to the beach with a take away latte every morning from the Coffee Lounge. The service was polite and fast and the coffee taste is just great.

I popped into this cafe today. I was drawn to the bargain offer of half price sandwiches after 2 p.m! Although this does not apply a toasted one I wanted! I was disappointed that one of the staff went outside to heavily pet a large dog. She then came back in & did not wash her hands before going behind the food counter. It certainly put me off having any cake. I just felt that this is not only unhygienic but unprofessional as well. The sandwich was fine, but I’m not sure there was any mayo on it, as advertised. Maybe it had soaked in. Being picky my table could have done with a good proper clean ( as the little pots & paper coffee ads were a bit drink splattered ) & also the floor under the table could do with a good sweep !

I had a really full Turkey pie which was mouth-wateringly good! Followed by a chocolate and salted caramel cake which was equally wonderful. Service and atmosphere, what more could you ask for!

We stumbled across the Coffee Lounge after struggling to find somewhere to sit down for coffee in the centre of town. We are so glad we came across it. Although seating is limited, the service is excellent and our coffee and scones were wonderful. The selection of other cakes looked great too and included some gluten free options. The staff were by far the most friendly and polite of any of the places we visited in St. Ives. Hope to return in the future.

We were visiting St Ives with friends and were looking for a coffee shop in town when we happened across this place. Not the largest coffee shop in the world but its lack of seating is made up for by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the drinks and snacks available. The soup is to be recommended. A real find.

On a visit to St Ives which was heaving with people, I got fed up trying to find somewhere to have a drink and something to eat. I was in my way back to the bus stop having conceded that I would have to wait when I came across this little cafe. I had a lovely salad sandwich which was very well filled and presented, and a pot of tea. It was just perfect. They young couple serving were polite and took my order promptly. I particularly loved the little egg timer on my tray which told me when my tea was brewed.

Was on day trip to St Ives and got fed up of the hussel andbussel. Found this lovely cafe on the corner, they serve delicious coffee and cold drinks. I had ham and cheese panini which was nice and my sister had the bacon melt. Her only critic was the bacon was burnt. Accompanied by a delicious salad and at £5.75 a steal given I paid that for a pasty on the local bakery the day before and it was burnt !!

From the moment we walked in, I knew it was a mistake. The staff only spoke to you when they had to, were quite unhelpful & served cold items, which being a coffee lounge is a bit of a problem. Would I go back, most definitely not, I would go somewhere with an lovely atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff such as Olives.

On our second visit to St Ives this holiday (our boys have fallen in love with the place) we passed this café on the way down into town from the train. Our youngest decided that we would eat in and what a good decision this was! My husband and I both had a sandwich and the boys decided on crisps (to save room for the inevitable ice creams later!). The cakes looked amazing and were nicely displayed, as were the sandwiches. A nice little touch was the coffee menu on the tables in the form of a flip chart - which our boys used to play a game of "guess who" the coffee version! LOL!

I find it difficult to pass The Coffee Lounge without popping in for a coffee. The staff are friendly and helpful and the cakes are sooo tempting. They have a good variety of freshly made sandwiches with veggies well catered for, and their breakfast porridge is very popular. I know I will have a good start to my day if I drop in here on my way to the shops, and if you take a second cuppa after 2pm your receipt allows you one at half price .

Popped in for a coffee, from train, whilst on a day trip to St.Ives. Lady who served us was very friendly and helpful. Service quick! Cafe small but cosy and welcoming with big windows. Loved the coffee, but the scone was not cooked properly, making it very chewy. Regular size cappuccino, £2.85!

This was our first taste of St Ives on a brisk morning and what a delight. I had a warm bowl of Porridge which was served with a tray full of condiments better than home. It is a small cafe but full of light from all the windows. We didn't have time to come back for lunch but the menu looked tempting and veggie friendly. Coming in here started our day off with a smile.

As a customer of Cornish Gems for the 4th year running we stopped here for lunch last week. 7 of us occupied the only large table they had, I went to order food for my husband and myself and the lady who served me was SO RUDE!! She will know who she is... as I ordered my food, then asked if I could add my daughter and her boyfriends food to the bill so it came out together, she looked at me, then ripped the paper from the check furiously and threw it to one side, I came so close to telling her to forget it, but we were with another family, so unfortunately I let it go. I do not as a paying customer to Cornish Gems and yourselves wish to be sighed at and eyes rolled.

We decided to visit here for lunch after hearing many reviews off of people, and recommendations - the Paninis we had for lunch were delicious! The service was a bit too casual, but everyone seemed lovely. It was quiet as its more out of the way then anywhere else I have been in St Ives, but if you want a quiet coffee and maybe a spot of lunch then this is definitely the place to go!

A friend brought me here for a quick stop takeaway coffee and I instantly clicked with Eida, the lady who served us. After specifying how the temperature I like my coffee at (most people burn them) she steaned my milk to perfection. I returned again and again until I actually got a loyalty card titled 'awkward latte guy' - perfect! It's safe to say I'm a regular and always recommend others to visit. The other ladies are wonderful and a great laugh and make the tastiest paninis (chicken alfredo is to die for). Highly recommended.

We popped into the Coffee Lounge being in need of a quick bite to eat and of course a coffee. Friendly welcome and the place is very clean. The coffee was very good. I had a Panini with coleslaw and my husband had a sandwich. Both good. My husband criticised the sandwich for being made with very thin bread but some people like their sandwiches to be 'dainty'.
