Amazing coffee and they will happily make drinks not on the menu (partner always gets a cortado). A perfect range of delicious snacks. It is the only place in Leicester we go for coffee as all coffee roasted on site and they often change the variety of the house espresso beans so you get to try the different beans you can buy there as well. Super high quality. The new downstairs area is nice and cool on hot days.

I had guac toast, a vegan cinnabon and coffee here and was massively impressed by everything... I'm actually still here, hanging out in the very cosy downstairs seating area which provides a great place to work alongside a coffee. Wanted to write this now or else I will no doubt forget and credit is due here for a wonderful experience from the two guys working here today who have both provided such a lovely, personable service! The staff clearly love what they do and are proud of the place where they work and service that they provide- and it shows, a refreshing rarity. Guac toast was elevated with super fresh tasting tomatoes and a vinegar glaze. Vegan Cinnabon was served warm and smelt and tasted amazing. Coffee was smooth and delicious. Yeah, just a lovely experience allround. Would highly recommend for a chilled lunch, just tucked away from the main hustle and bustle of Leicester's City Centre. Enjoy!

Visited a few times on my most recent trip to Leicester, delicious coffee and the pastries also looked good. If you are looking for a flat white please note they serve it in a larger than usual cup, may wish to have the cortado, which is also well done. Nice ambience.

First visit today, on the recommendation of a family member. Very rude man serving. My two young children were excited about their drinks and enjoyed watching them be made. They did not run around or get in anyone else’s way. They did not scream or shout. They did not disturb any of the other customers, they behaved like normal children. If they had caused a fuss I would have taken them outside while my partner waited for our drinks. When the drinks were ready and we thanked the server for our drinks he looked down his nose at us, sneered at our children and rolled his eyes. I’ve never had that treatment in any other shop we have frequented.

Lame. As a coffee purist I went out of my to find this joint. They had 2 beans on offer, which appeared to be a nice selection. I was told filter coffee couldn’t be made without weighing and measuring the coffee and water. A specialist roastery that can’t do a pour over? Yikes No beans on sale either. Because apparently they haven’t roasted lately. So, not so much a specialist roastery as an overhyped hipster coffee shop with little actual coffee knowledge and overpriced cake

We go here on a weekly basis with our dog to get our morning coffee and our roasted beans for our home.

The coffee we had was not that great! The Oat milk they use here give the coffee more acidity therefore not that nice. They did not have salt and pepper to put on avocado & toast. And rudely brushed me off when I asked for it. The avocado was pre made and a bit odd tasting! The service was bland! I wouldn’t recommend!

Incredible coffee well roasted and served, full of flavour, reasonably priced in a great atmosphere. Nice touches. Friendly service. Menu looked interesting, though on this occasion I didn’t eat, one to drop back to!

I came here just as it was closing, on a Saturday, and was still met by friendly and helpful people, who said that they would be happy to make me a takeaway drink. I had an espresso, and it was extremely well made. If I lived inLeicester, I would visit this place very regularly!

i used to frequent this establishment until i moved away, tasty and great value for money, brilliant and friendly staff and lovely food. my personal recommendation is a flat white and a Blondie to snack on

A nice relaxed place, calm and quiet. Good for a quick hot drink. staff are friendly. Can have breakfast and lunch.

I rarely write 1-2* reviews however had a very poor experience today. Visited the Coffee Counter with my Mother for a catch up on lunch today around 1pm. She visits often and raved about it. We had went for lunch somewhere else and sat down to have a drink and slice of cake. There was a table free. Went to order and for some bizarre reason, the guy serving (beard) was very miserable, no smiles even when I tried to ask a question about the tea. He seemed like he did not want to be there at all. Ordered two chai lattes (£2.60 each) and a slice of cake (£3). We asked for it to be extra hot. We sat down waited almost 15 minutes. I went to the counter and asked kindly where the drinks were, the guys reply 'you can see how many orders there are, we are busy' I was shocked! No need to talk in that manner and talk so rudely. No apology. He came to deliver them, just put them on the table, and with a strop walked off. A gentleman on another table asked for his hot drink as well and the member of staff just gave funny looks. There is a way to handle situations. Drinks were not hot, to be honest not even that warm, we went back to the counter and the Asian lady who was making the drinks was so friendly and apologised and delivered hot ones with a smile. Reason why not rating a 1 star! After recommendations and my Mother coming often, we left feeling frustrated and shocked about how poor the service was and how rude the waiter was. Would not recommend or visit again. Went to work and repeated the story of how poor the service was, one colleague said they faced the same and spoke about the same individual with the beard!

Staff are completely devoid of charm to the point of making you feel unwelcome. Decor uninspiring. Coffee no more than average and tastes a bit burnt.

Definitely the best coffee you can buy in Leicester, for a great price as well. Also amazing staff who are super helpful in the morning (before the first coffee of the day). Nice sandwiches too! Basically can't go wrong.

When we last visited Leicester, this coffee shop was just being prepared for its opening and we vowed to return. We secured an opportunity to finally try out their coffee when we returned for a two-day film screening event - it was well worth the wait as they do serve a top notch flat white. We rushed back the following day for lunch during our short break to find that the food is also very good - and the flat white just as good as the day before.

Exceptionally good coffee for Leicester, would rate this as the number one in the city if you're looking for a genuine taste in a comfortable cozy environment, this is the place to be on a quiet afternoon. Well lit, comfortable seating, friendly staff, and a frequency based reward card. Cappucinos are excellent and I particularly recommend their filled croissants too.

Dropped in for breakfast, and loved it! Premises are nothing fancy but it was a really nice experience eating here. Avocado Toast with goat's cheese was great and the Smoothie Bowl was truly excellent. I recommend you give this place a try!

Coffee good quality. Friendly staff and pleasant service. Sandwiches available but the display looked a bit tired the day I went: wasn't sure if I would get a freshly made one or the one in the cabinet which put me off a bit.. Really nice place. Good coffee, nice inside and staff were all pleasant with me and my 2 year old. This and St Martins are best coffee in town in my opinion, and this tends to be less chaotic in a weekend. Keep up the good work.

I've come to this cafe twice now, once with family and the other time with friends. I've found the staff very friendly both times. You order at the till then they bring your order over. The sandwiches and toasties are really nice as well! Nice cosy atmosphere in general. There are always people in there but it is never crowded. I have been on both a weekday and a Saturday.

Coffee was amazing!defo would recommend. Shop looks small from outside but nice and spacious inside with funky decor.

I've been there quite a few times, either with friends or by myself for a lunch break. The coffee is lovely. Different than any other place in Leicester. The sandwiches are super fresh and tasty and the staff very kind and chilled. I do love the music on the background as well! By far, best coffee shop in town, if not the whole county. I do recommend even for solo get outs. Keep your uniqueness guys, don't ever get mainstream!

Called in and had the £3.50 coffee and croissant deal one morning. The coffee was lovely and the people serving were friendly and welcoming. Will go more often when in the city.

It doesn't look much from the outside but once you go in you'll see their roasting equipment and a smart but relaxed feel. I didn't try the food but the coffee is the best I've found in Leicester. At £2.65 for a takeaway latte it's more than else where but you'll see where the extra money went.

Tea tasted very nice, but can not really go wrong with that.

Whenever I'm in Leicester I always pop in for a coffee. Its the best place in town for a hot drink, with the tea, coffee and hot chocolate all being of the highest standard. I've also eaten here a couple of times and its been great. Perfect for a lunch hour treat. Its a nice place to sit and is always extremely clean.

I can not comment on the food, although what I see in the cabinets looks fabulous, what I can tell you is they do the finest coffee in Leicester. If you appreciate and know what good coffee is, then this is the place to come to, well done and thank you Coffee Counter!!

The recently added food menu has turned the best coffee shop in Leicester to the best daytime eatery as well. Delicious sandwiches, croissants, salads and granolas as well as the glorious cakes that were there already. Delightful staff, lovely atmosphere, superb barista coffee - in short, brilliant.

I first went to TCC when I was studying for my AS exam and honestly, I fell in love with the atmosphere and the coffee! I always order a latte (I drink nothing else really) and its so rich in flavour and taste, and the designs are always beautiful. Best for a nice aesthetic Instagram post, something I regularly take advantage of.

Some of the best coffee in Leicester. They offer a wide range of coffee and light bites to eat. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgable. You will come out awakened and will have learned a few things about coffee, they even have a roster.

Popped in for some coffee for a v60 brew and grabbed a flat White whilst here; great drink and some latte art too.. Got some tips on using my v60 too. Enjoying my coffee beans too, ground perfectly for me.

Popped in here for an early morning coffee and cake, my wife had the smoothie with muesli and fresh fruit which was amazing. Very friendly and warm staff, give it a try you will love it too..

First time I found this place was by pure luck, but since I have visited it man times. The have one of the best coffees that you can find in Leicester, which you can pair with very tasty and original sandwiches or cakes. Staff is very kind, patient and helpful. They also have a loyalty programe, where you can get a free coffee every six by collecting a stamp with every beverage you buy. They also sell coffee to take-away and feshly ground coffee for home use.

I was there the other day (23/06/17) and WOW one of the best Mocha's i have had in a long time fairly priced and wonderful food i have a blt with brie well priced with in house roasting to odder will 100% go back

It had a few teething problems early on but the Coffee Counter has matured into a really excellent coffee shop. The look and feel of the place is lovely and chilled and the coffee and cakes are excellent. Now the best coffee place in Leicester.

TCC have a really nice and relaxing atmosphere - it's a great place if you want to find somewhere to sit, read and enjoy coffee in the morning!

Outside of Australia and now London - I have not been able to find a long black. I am pretty picky when it comes to coffee and in Leicester- there is a noticeable lack of it. When i found The Coffee Counter, I almost lost it. Well done guys. Good coffee and always friendly service.

Before I visited The Coffee Counter I wasn't a fan off Coffee but now I can't stop drinking it. The service is great at this place as there is always a staff to available to serve you and I have not seen anyone roast there own Coffee like the Coffee Counter do.

Thus is the best coffee in Leicester. It is a new place and sometimes impossible to get a seat. The coffee roaster takes up most of the space but that us understable. It you are serious about coffee this is the one for you.

I used to regularly visit coffee counter as I worked round the corner, and one of the saddest things about leaving that job is that I won't be able to visit here as frequently anymore!

Called in as this is our friends local coffee shop. Great coffee which is not over-inflated on the price. Staff were very friendly and they have a loyalty scheme which seems better than the high street chains.

I've just discovered this place and what a find. If you want a great coffee, which is what they do, then give the chains a miss. You won't be disappointed. The smell of roasting coffee is intoxicating.

Nipped in for a warm and a fortifying coffee whilst working in Leicester. Very friendly welcome and service. Very good coffee. Unfortunately it was too early in the morning for me to try the amazing looking sandwiches, croissants etc available (another colleague timed it better and apparently they don't just look amazing). This place looks pretty new and deserves to do well. Will certainly use when in Leicester.

A bit of a hidden gem (for me anyway) nice and intimate; great food and really good coffee. Would recommend the mozzarella and pesto croissants which I literally inhaled. Can get a little busy but that's a good thing really. It means they are doing a good job! Service was really good as well;Something that often gets missed. Will definitely be coming back

What a pleasant surprise and tasteful visit undertaken today, 17 January 2017. The venue is tucked away down Bowling Green St, Leicester. Upon entering the `rustic` coffee venue, we were met by friendly staff, who attentively taken our orders. The atmosphere is quiet yet pleasant and the customers appeared to be enjoying their visit. Once the coffees arrived mine had an artistic leaf decorating the top. The flavour was smooth and nice and hot.
