Nine of us and a dog descended on the Coffee Bothy after completing the nearby parkrun and were welcomed warmly. They made a space for us to squeeze in to an already busy space and were very friendly along with their lovely Spaniel. The food and coffee was lovely as was the company.

My friend and I visited today after we ran Skinadin parkrun on the recommendation of the parkrun team. What a lovely cafe, great food and coffee, lovely owners and cute dog. Also the best toilet door decoration I've ever seen. We had a great time, and brought fabulous cakes back home to enjoy later. Cannot recommend it enough

Easily one of the best coffee places I’ve ever been to! The staff are very welcoming and bright which is always nice to see. I had the avocado toast and a chai latte with oat milk which were both delicious. The place is small but cozy with fairy lights and loads of photos to look at and some souvenirs too. I’ll definitely be coming back whenever I’m in Skye next!

What a great place. If you are ever in the area then do visit and leave feeling uplifted. We went for breakfast on our way to the Armadale ferry and the staff could not have been any friendlier. Coffee was excellent and the food was superb. The whole place has such a friendly vibe and, although only small, they bend over backwards to get people in if that is what they are looking for. They also provide an excellent take away service which we used to take cakes away with us (they have such a huge selection of cakes on offer). So, do stop for a coffee and cake if passing by, we wish we could have visited more.

What an amazing friendly place. Fabulous coffee and such a lovely friendly owner (in a kilt too!). Gave us lots of tips for Skye - he should work for tourism! And loads of gluten free options, delicious cakes! Came back the next day but sadly closed. 100% recommend

Amazing place! Gorgeous home-made cakes, a great welcome from super-friendly (and kilted!) staff! And easy parking just outside. We visited on a blissfully warm sunny autumn day, so we sat at one of the picnic tables outside. The Cranachan home-made cake made with cream, whisky and oats was AMAZING! This is the loveliest, most charming cafe ever! Thoroughly recommended! Thank you guys!!

Let me start by saying the food is good and the cakes (homemade by one of the owners are also great)! But what makes this place is the people, the two owners are fantastic, so friendly and we loved their dog too! We’ll be back on our next visit to Skye :)

Fantastic place for a coffee, tea and something to eat. Delicious cakes (for example the lemon and berries). A more than warm welcome and very friendly staff. The owner/host told us something about the nice spots on the Isle and was very enthousiastic. This should be your first stop when you enter the Isle. Highly recommended.

A quirky gem of a place! Even though pretty full with people ordering take-outs we were given a very warm welcome and offered a table. We were originally going in for a coffee and cake (it was my birthday) but decided on an early lunch. Between us we had the nachos with vegetarian haggis and I had the garden salad with feta. Both were not only of exceptional quality but beautifully presented, and we know about food. The salad leaves were grown very locally too. Coffees made with oak milk and desserts were delicious. They even went the extra mile with my dessert and played ‘Happy Birthday’ which caught me completely off guard!! Thank you, we’ll definitely be back.

Fantastic wee find on our island adventure. Absolutely delicious cakes and fantastic coffees and hot chocolate to warm us up after a day braving the questionable 'spring' weather. Staff all very helpful and pleasant and their resident pup was absolutely gorgeous. Bonus points for being dog friendly and fantastic decor! Would recommend for anyone in need of a tasty bite and a cosy atmosphere.

Super friendly wee place in Broadford. Well-behaved dogs are allowed in. The coffee was super. One of us had a bagel. One had soup, then went back to ask for another bowl as he said it was the best he'd ever had and I had a generous slice of home-made gluten free cake. We will be back.

We called into The Coffee Bothy for coffee and cake. The owners are so lovely and welcoming. We managed to nab a table by the woodburner. The coffee is superb and there were so many choices of cake, it was difficult to choose!

We were in Skye for a couple of days filming at the local hospital. A last minute change in availability of the doctor we were filming left us with a couple of hours free in the morning so went looking for a coffee and that's when we found the Coffee Bothy. Despite the cold and wet morning the welcome we received was warm and friendly as we were sat in the last available table. This is a popular place, justifiably so, and it was full only 15 minutes after opening that day. In the end we only had a breakfast roll (the Lorne sausage being delicious and perfectly cooked) but we were sorely tempted by the wonderful selection of home baked cakes and sweet treats. Looks like we are going to have to visit again tomorrow before we head back to Glasgow to get a take away cake. Did I say the service here was friendly? That would be an understatement as they were very attentive and genuinely interested to hear that you were enjoying your food and drink.

Nice cake, ok coffee, but £16.85 for two cakes and 2 coffees???? There are plenty of nice cafes on Skye that are fairly priced. If you want winter trade from locals, you need to do better.

Such kind and friendly owners, welcomed us with such warmth. The type of people who should own a cafe.. you can tell they love people well :) Our toddler had a great time staring at their dog and we loved the delicious soup and toastie and coffees. Love the vegan options for our toddler who is on a very special diet. Lovely owners, thanks so much for being your lovely selves! Keep it up and God bless you guys.

We love the Coffee Bothy. Great food. Lovely coffee. Fabulous cakes. The owners are lovely. One of the best places on Skye. The only downside is that it’s not the biggest cafe going. So sometimes you have to wait for a table. Worth it though. Keep up the good work guys! We’ll be back often! Shame we live the other end of the island!

Felt extremely ripped off, I ordered a bacon role with butter for almost £5 and got the cheapest bread roll possible with margarine and a single small tasteless piece of bacon. I was pretty shocked by the stinginess!

We'd hardly arrived in Broadford before being told of the Coffee Bothy; a small(ish) coffee shop. If we liked coffee (and cake and snacks and soup so forth) then, we were encouraged, we simply MUST drop by. Sometimes such recommendations give rise to a height of expectation that, upon making a visit, fails to be met. The simple fact of the matter, however, is that the Coffee Bothy not only met the expectation we had on our first visit but continued to delight on every other visit we made. Sometimes twice in one day. Sure, the coffee is great (locally roasted on the island) and the cakes are splendid and the food across the board is lovely. But it's the people who work there, who welcome customers so warmly and who so obviously like their work and each other that makes everything so very much worth dropping by and dropping by again. And again. There are lots of super places to visit for a break or a drink or a snack as you travel around this incredible island. But if you're anywhere near Broadford then THIS is the place.

Being an Indian vegetarian family exploring the UK, this establishment truly felt like a sanctuary. We highly recommend trying their avocado toast and vegan pastries; they're a must-try. The food consistently maintained exceptional quality, and even though the staff were occupied, they remained remarkably accommodating. It's important to note that the kitchen's closing hours differ from the cafe's, so keep an eye on that. To sum it up, our experience here was phenomenal.

We stayed at Taigh Ailean for our trip to Skye. We also had the opportunity to eat dinner there (Breakfast was included with our stay.) The dinner was so delicious! The view is lovely as you can see the loch from the windows of the bar. All the staff is fantastic and so friendly! I had a great dinner and I would describe it, but the menu changes to suit what is in season and available from the sea. Whatever you get, I guarantee it will be the best! Make sure you call ahead and get a reservation as it fills up quickly. I know that they also have live music, which would be great, but we didn't have any while we were there.

Agree with the other reviews. This is an unlikely place to find at the end of the world. We felt welcomed and in the main enjoyed our stay. The only downside was the cost for the 2 of us. £200 for a snack, breakfast, plate of curry and a bunkhouse bed with no shower and a outside toilet seemed breathtaking expensive. To put this into perspective, we go to a nice hotel each year for a winter break, that's more than we pay per day at the hotel with vastly more civilized amenities. I do understand there are logistics involved at Cape wrath. However for an 'ordinary' local Scottish person I'd be looking to stay at sandwood bay and make a lunch trip to the cafe as I simply can't justify the cost/value. However, it is altogether improbably situated and a must experience if you are doing a long walk. Just be prepae your expectations.

Your restaurant came highly recommended and the food and wine was absolutely superb. Unfortunately this is where the great experience ended as we have never been made to feel so uncomfortable in a restaurant by the people serving us, to the point that we couldn't wait to pay the bill and leave! We were the first table in the evening at 5pm and were seated right by the bar but we struggled to get eye contact with the staff who were either chatting behind the bar or staring into space. At no point did they ask us if everything was ok or if we wanted another drink. We tried to engage them in some chatter when they served us but to no avail. I don't know if in someway we offended them but we really could not work out what we had done wrong to be treated this way. Unfortunately we will not be returning, which is a shame as the food is excellent. Fortunately our evening was not completely spoiled as a visit to the local community centre in Nairn found us invited to a Ceilidh and a very warm welcome and fun evening.
