Traditional pub. Poor selection of drinks - no cask ales. Inside needs updating, but nice to sit outside in the sunshine. Needs refreshing inside and out.

My self and my wife visited the coble last October with our 2 dogs and then again in March 2022 we sat outside then as it was just the two of us we sat inside, we found the staff extremely helpful on every occasion, in fact the landlord (excuse me if your not as I forgot to ask your name my apologies the one with the ponytail) even sat and had a lovely conversation with us even gave us the low down on the local takeaways. We most definitely will be returning in June and October, just wish yourselves or us was closer

This is a small but welcoming local pub which we enjoyed a drink in on our first night in Newbiggin by the Sea

Popped in here after walking over from Creswell holiday park. Were greeted by a very warm welcome from the barman who said " Have just the thing for you" before pouring pint of ale. The friendly owner sat with us for ages and there was a great roaring fire on the go. Got talking to a few of the locals and when the rain started a super friendly couple gave us a drive back the 4 miles. Great old fashioned hospitalty sadly lacking in many places these days

Such a friendly little place. Stopped in for drinks and lunch with our dog. Nothing fancy but really great value for money and super friendly. Would definitely recommend

We were wandering along the promenade and decided to have a small bite to eat at The Coble. The sandwiches were only £2 each, but the buns (breakcakes) were excellent and there was lots of filling too. Being from Yorkshire, this was truly a bargain!

Myself my girl friend and my family went for an afternoon at the festival, we spent a fortune in the pub but every time we went to the bar the lady which we eventually was called Maureen was talking to us both like something off her shoe! Later on myself and my girlfriend went to the toilet and it was busy so we shared a cubicle which any girl would ! We then heard a knock on the door shouting at us to “go to the beach if we were that desperate” DISGUSTING!!!!” We then went and joined our family only then to be called the “lesbians in the corner” this was vile behaviour and os not expected on a family day out!! We will not be returning ! When my girlfriend asked for the ladies name when leaving she told us to f**k off ! Vile behaviour!

We had a fantastic time at the newbiggin festival. All our family came for the day to enjoy it with us. All I can say is we had an awesome time where we listened to the bands outside the Coble. We were buying drinks all afternoon and night and really enjoyed it. However the day was spoilt everytime my daughter and other family members went to the bar. The barmaid in the yellow, we later found out her name was Maureen really had a problem with my daughter and her friend and had really bad attitude everytime they went to the bar making it an upsetting situation everytime. We spent a fortune in the hours we were there and as I said had an awesome time regardless of this very unpleasant woman at the time. It was made even worse at the end of the night when she had a go at my daughter as toilets were full so her and her friend shared a toilet (as girls do) to be be verbally insulted when they came out. They were told to go to the beach which was disgusting, What on earth did they think they were doing. What a nasty woman she is. In the end she told my daughter to f*** off. Absolutely disgraceful. I am furious. I wish I was there as she would have got an earful from me. She is an absolute disgrace to a lovely friendly pub where we visit often on walks with our dogs. We will definitely rethink returning. So sad. So disappointed. So annoyed. Who does she think she is.

So disappointing , after coming by to find out about a party we were going to hold here we were met by a very aggressive man who told us to not come in if we were not going to eat - we don’t know if there was some confusion as we were coming to eat but also organise a booking for a large amount of people - we were very taken back and have found somewhere for our large gathering in a friendly place instead of somewhere where we were verbally attacked - shocking

Found this great pub after a sunny stroll along the seafront & beautiful beach at Newbiggin. A proper pub with great drinks & tasty toasted sandwiches. Very friendly & helpful staff & well signed on what to do with current regulations. We loved this pub, a real gem. Thank you.

The coble is located at the bandstand, right in the heart of newbiggin. It has plenty of outside seating including a sheltered outdoor seating area with log burner and a view of the promenade which leads down to the beach. The coble is incredibly dog friendly. Tea/coffee & sandwiches/bar snacks are available all day as is the wide range of draught lagers, ciders, ales, wine (by the glass or bottle) & spirits. Every visit is a pleasure and everyone is made to feel at home by the owners and pub's resident dog. Whether it's tea and scones with the family or a night out with the lads, it's always worth calling in.

Bought some beautifully grown bedding plants for a reasonable price. The hanging baskets were stunning. Very tempted.

Large chain, standard menu offerings, busy, noisy setting, but good sea views, nice outside area. Food came quickly once managed to order at the busy bar. Burger sauce was the best item. Small burger Pattie, creamy coleslaw, hubby had monkfish scampi, bit over battered. Both sets of chips under cooked, when we were asked how our meal was, our reply was just received with blank stare and no response before waiter cleared our plates and left! Buffet breakfast the following morning as we expected! Basic sausages, overcooked black pudding, the bacon, mushrooms and hash browns ok, had run out of baked beans, but at least you could order different eggs if didn’t fancy fried.

Cool bar with friendly clientele. Staff are smiley and attentive. Love the skiing theme and the Brewdog beer. Great having the ski videos on the big screen aswell. Just a thought, have you thought about showing the live skiing on Eurosport/Discovery+?

It was ok but nothing to push the boat out for. My daughter wanted chicken tikka panini but apparently had no tikka, I asked for a sandwich on brown bread cake but they had no brown bread cakes left. Really?? And this was only just after noon. Nothing special about the ham sandwich which all in all tasted bland. The dog ate most of it.
