We were 4 adults and two small dogs, we had a delicious Sunday roast beef with all the trimmings very generous portions and a selection of no less than six fresh vegetables all cooked to perfection, the roast beef was delicious there is a great atmosphere in this old traditional pub. As soon as we arrived a bowl of water was placed under the table for our dogs then little placemats were brought out for them and they too had a full roast dinner with all the trimmings. John was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble whilst Paul cooked an excellent dinner all from scratch, wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend to all and we will certainly be going back very soon…….Perfect afternoon, made even more enjoyable as we could take our pooches. Thank you to the owners Paul and John.

Walked to the Coach & Horses for a Sunday lunch whilst away for a few days with some good friends. We had the traditional Sunday lunch followed by delicious desert and drinks all round. Service was great meeting all our needs and good banter all round. When the bill arrived all members of our party questioned to cost as it was so cheap. Will definitely return when in the area again and would certainly recommend to others.

So..... we're scattered over the country..... London, West Mids so after receiving some sad news, we needed to attend a funeral in the Kings Lynn area. We needed a place for a family meal after. And..... we found this place. From the first phone call to see if Coach and Horses could help us, nothing was any bother at all. We arrived and the welcome was so warm, the setting was perfect and we instantly new we had made a cracking choice. Nice pint of Guiness etc was enjoyed and then the food turned up...... oh wow, home made lasagne, some had home made cottage pie so so nice, and good portions too. I'm a big lad and it filled me up. Squeezed a traditional pudding in too but I was stuffed. But..... the main bit for us was the staff, so so caring and attentive and any pressures or concerns instantly went out the window. I can't say enough but for us what is and was a sad time was so helped by how we were looked after. Thank you guys n girls we will be back most definitely.

Don't even know where to begin. Thye had no bread, milk, tomatoes, eggs salmon etc. etc. etc. We could not even get a cup of tea or coffee because there was NO milk. The food we did get was awful. I don't know who they must have had for a cook. (not a chef) My steak was as dry as a bone, got another one which was awful All sinue, not a rump steak. My friend's chips and onion rings were COLD. The TV was turned up so loud we could not bear it, neither could the other couples in there. They had to be asked twice to please turn it down. The Manager had a terrible attitude problem from the start. I even got chastised for using the disability rest room. I am 77 with osteo. and other health problems. There was a family of very loud and rowdy children that we were told were relative of someone that works there, totally out of order. Whoever was responsible for ordering supplies must have been non-existent. Terrible terrible, rude and exasperating Manager. Shame on you. P.S was not even offered a rebate on the terrible food.

Used to visit before Lockdown and the new owners. So pleasantly surprised when I visited today for Sunday lunch. We were looked after by our host and the attentive waitresses, shown to a spotless table and quickly served. The helpings were very good, piping hot, and beautifully cooked. In my case, pork, with five veg, Yorkshire pud, new and roast potatoes. Desert was a lovely treacle pudding, with lashings of creamy custard. Despite the pub being busy, we were looked after very well and never hurried. Their 'everyday' menu was standard 'Pub' food, sensibly priced, and if anything like their Sunday food, I will look forward to sampling it soon.

Such a lovely find. I called ahead to book a table for the kids and I. Arrived to the car park and the most beautiful huge garden. Inside was laid out perfectly for Covid-19 and everything was clear and easy to understand. Kids menu was perfect and adults menu was the specials board with plenty of choice. Had a chat with the licensees after dinner and the building has so much history. Could have stayed all night chatting with them but the kids were starting to beat each other up. Thanks for your hospitality, will save and definitely return when passing.

WHAT A WONDERFUL FIND. We visited this lunchtime (11/3/20) and had a fantastic Pensioners meal for £6.95 each. I had liver, mash and veg in a very tasty onion gravy and my husband had the cod, chips and mashy peas followed by spotted dick and I had a wonderful (like your mum used to make) bread and butter pudding. So pleased we've found you and looking forward to coming for a Sunday dinner soon. Well done and thank you. Can thoroughly recommend to everyone.

We visited here for a meal with friends, it had been many years since our last visit and the place has not changed much. There are new owners and there was an improved atmosphere, it is an old style country pub with history, lots of horse brasses hanging from large oak beams and a welcoming large open fireplace. The normal drinks selection at reasonable prices. Very much a local type pub. The food was home cooked and very nice, I would say normal pub fair but as home cooked a bit nicer. All meals arrived well plated and in good time, a good size and hot. We all enjoyed the meals ordered. It was not award winning but so much better than the standard pub chain food. The staff were polite and helpful and the place clean and tidy. It was a bit quiet but it is a bit off the main road now there is a bypass. Worth turning off for though. Plenty of parking and room to turn a caravan round if you're off to the coast and fancy stopping for refreshments.

Friendly bar-staff, 3 real ales on, plenty of tables to choose from. I will return. Handy just off the A47 by-pass too. Well done the team of staff who run this place.

I'd looked at the website and thought this looked a nice place to celebrate our anniversary. On arrival the pub didn't really look like the website inside, unless I read it wrong. The bar area is well used by locals which is fine, shows a good atmosphere. We were seated in the rear which didn't really look restaurant like, more café.The food is good standard pub grub which is great! However, the female barmaid was very polite and helpful and the food was very good. Good points is it allows dogs, friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices. We would go again if in the area. Not a planned stop on our journey home but called in for lunch. Very nice atmosphere with great service from people who obviously love the place. Decor a bit 'tired' and out of the 1970s but this did not detract from a lovely lunch with fantastic food. I had the liver and bacon, which not many places can do successfully but this was very tasty. Would definitely take a detour off the A47 again to call in for a bite to eat. Varied menu catered for all tastes and there were plenty of sandwiches and jacket potatoes for those who did not want a full meal.

Ate here twice and aslo called for drinks on a recent holiday near Kings Lynn. It is hearty home cooked pub grub, the menu isnt extensive but all the better for it. The pie of the day on our 2nd visit was steak and onion. Juicy chunks of melt in the mouth steak, not a hint of fat or gristle, well cooked crispy puff pastry top - not just added as a "topper" but actually cooked with the filling, fresh veg (not frozen) and actually tasting as it should - so many eateries serve tasteless veg nowadays, but not here. Couldnt fit a pud in the second time but on the 1st visit a jam sponge and yummy custard and a heavenly strawberry cheesecake went down with no problem. I think the chips may be frozen but they were crispy not soggy.

Called in here for lunch on way home from Kings Lynn. Having read the reviews we expected an above average meal. However we are sad to say we did not get the sort of meal that, the reviews suggested we would get. I had salmon and although it was nicely cooked it was quite a small piece. What was amazing it was served dry with no sauce. Surely a nice hollandaise is not impossible to make. My dish was served with a pat of butter The vegetables were okay but nothing to shout about. My wife had the chicken and mushroom pie. She enjoyed this and there was lots meat in the dish but it needed more mushroom and sauce. All in all and average meal at a reasonable price.

I have never been so humiliated by the people who are running this pub. Went this evening for a meal to have to wait for an hour for my food to be brought out burnt and looking like something the cat brought up?? Myself and my mother ordered lasagna my mother's had 3 layers and a burnt top mine had one layer and I was unable to cut the top as It was black so burnt. I complained and the waitress just tool it away no apology nothing ? When I asked what was going on I was just ignored .... I went to the bar and asked I was greeted my the lady in charge who wanted to argue that I was talking rubbish and that the two lasagna we had came from the same dish ? How when one had 3 layers and the other had one layer ? I am a fully qualified chef and know the lasagna which were served tonight was not from the same dish ? When I continued to fight my corner she got the chef out of the kitchen to argue in the middle of the bar in front of other customers ?? Also asking other customer if their meal was ok ? No apology or free drinks just got screamed at not to come back ??? Discusted with their customer service. What happened to the customer is always right ?? I'll never return while they are in the pub. Gonna contact elgoods brewery too. .....

I first unsure about booking to stay here as it's a pub and most pubs I've stayed in have been terrible, but me and my fiancé stayed here as we needed to find somewhere last minute and this was the only available place near us. As we arrived we noticed the car park was full, we only just managed to get parked, so in my eyes that was a good sign, it was popular. We went into the pub and we could barely move, it was jam packed. The bar staff behind the bar greeted us and asked where we came from and why we were in the area etc, all lovely people. However I felt a bit like a gooseberry because all eyes were on us, everybody drinking and eating were watching us and I didn't like that feeling at all. A woman then appeared to greet us, she showed us upstairs to our room. It's quite randomly laid out, as we have to pass the chefs kitchen to get to our room but never the less, we followed her and she gave us the option of two rooms. We was going to go for room 2, however the bed seemed comfy, and the room quite small, so we decided to stay in room 1. It was a basic room, neutral walls, bedding, decor etc, but it did the job. It had a wardrobe, double bed, chester draw, lamp, TV, chair. Plus tea & coffee facilities with biscuits. We had a shower room, with free toiletries. (shampoo & body wash) the toilet was a little unusual, it wasn't a normal toilet, it was a recycling toilet, only loo roll could be flushed. But when you did flush it sounded like a blender, it was so noisy! That was the only bad thing about this room. We had extra blankets and pillows located in the wardrobe in case we needed them, we didn't but they were there in case you did. The bed was so comfy, the pillows not so much, too soft for my liking but that's a personal preference. Once it had died down a little we went down for a few drinks in the beer garden, it was lovely. Pastel colour benches scattered around the garden, with a purple phone box and a lovely little floral area, plus a play area for kids. Ashtray's on tables for smokers, and big benches for larger groups of people. We had a meal at the restaurant with family members, who brought their dog along, we were seated a certain 'dog friendly' table, which was in the way a bit but it's nice of them to allow dogs. The food isn't what you get from your average pub, it's beyond that. It looks like something you'd get from a 5* restaurant. I ordered the belly pork, with garlic potatoes and veg. My other half ordered the rib and chicken combo, there was so much food. Absolutely lovely and reasonable prices. The next morning we came down for breakfast, we was showed to our table. Lovely little layout with a range of cereal and jams. We were asked what hot drink we'd like, and what kind of bread we'd like for toast. We opted for tea and brown bread, honestly the bread must be home made. I've tasted nothing like it before, it was delicious! So fresh, and tasty! We both had an English breakfast with local sausages, all of the food was piping hot, well cooked, and not a single thing to fault. The best breakfast I've EVER had, I'm missing them already. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone, and if I'm ever in the area I'd be staying here again.

I visited the Coach and Horses with my husband, we ordered a Bitburger each, being a fan of German beer it was fantastic to see it on tap! We ordered food from the very friendly landlady, my pate was coarse which makes a nice change, served with a very fresh side salad. Our food came quickly but not in such a way we felt rushed, our main course was generously portioned and tasty, excellent value for money! As we were staying nearby we had walked to the pub, by the time we had finished our evening it was dark and the walk a little too far. We asked if the landlady could call us a taxi, as she could only find numbers from the nearby town the landlord insisted he would take us as ordering a taxi from so far away to go a short distance would be very expensive. We have never been shown such kindness from strangers before! It demonstrates just how lovely the staff here are! On a side note the pub was clean, and the toilets particularly immaculate on our visit. I will often judge a place on the cleanliness of its toilets, the Coach and Horses has most definitely passed!

Went here with a party of eight plus two children for a 60th birthday lunch, seven of us were looking forward to having turkey off the menu. We sat down with drinks we had ordered directly at the bar. Sat down, went to order turkey off the menu and were then informed they had run out! Had we known before ordering drinks and getting sat down we would probably have left there and then to go elsewhere. None the less we stuck with it and ordered the beef, which I guess wasn't to bad. To top it up one of the party had ordered a dessert with never turned up. Pointed this out to the person serving us, and guess what she said, she said she would knock off the bill. Most generous of her!, We have been regulars here, but its unlikely we will go again.

Very poor staff don't know how to speak to customers and don't treat them with value point 1, point 2 food was rubbish all frozen food nothing homemade deserts were the same and the ice cream was served in a plastic cup not presented in a glass dish point 3 no aircon in bar area and it wasa very hot day. door just left open to let in a hot draft to make it even worse totally unhappy with this place never going back hope it changes hands soon as has potential

Our first visit to the Coach and Horses at Tilney St Lawrence was at lunch time on Easter Monday. It is an attractive, traditional pub selling real ale and with a good local reputation for food. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is reasonably priced, tastes good and is cooked to order. This won't be our last visit.

This a great place for a good old fashioned pub meal. Really wide choice of food, and good service - will go again

The Coach and Horses Inn have new owners and it's worth a visit. The menu is extensive and local produce used if and when possible with daily specials on the board.Although a little on the pricey side for pub food, the food was excellent on our vist and I was torn between the lamb shank and the rump steak. In the end the steak won but the chips that came with it were a little disappointing with hardly any taste at all - unlike the McCains which are now widely used at Spoons.Yes, we will visit again to try some different on the menu.

Popped in here for a quick lunch at the end of our walk, with our lively springer spaniel, who was made very welcome. We found the Kings Arms staff friendly and welcoming, and we enjoyed excellent sandwiches, sensibly thick and beautifully fresh bread with loads of filling. We thought they were great value, especially given that they were accompanied by salad, crisps and really lovely coleslaw. They really filled us up. It was only a shame that our holiday accommodation is well over an hour away, so we probably won’t be able to repeat the experience soon. We will definitely recommend the Kings Arms.

As regular customers for lunch on Saturdays my partner and I have noticed that the service has got worse. If the owner isn’t there, the young staff who despite doing their best, leave customers for ages before taking orders and don’t notice when customers need them. Today we received our beers but no glasses, then we waited 50 mins for 2 basic mains and a side dish, they came followed by our cutlery. The food is good and the staff are lovely but it’s clear there weren’t enough doing front of house and probably the kitchen, as we weren’t alone waiting ages today. We want to support it as an independent restaurant but the really slow service is putting us off.

Everyone should go here just for the milkshakes. We even had an extra milkshake instead of dessert because they are soooo good. Rayna May was a friendly, efficient, knowledgeable waitress. The place was really clean and comfortable. The food was very reasonably priced. My salad was amazing, my friend really enjoyed her burger and did I mention the milkshakes 🤣🤣🤣

We decided to have our wedding reception here and Emily was amazing from the very 1st time we spoke with her and all the way through to the big day Nothing was too much trouble we had a couple of people with dietary needs and these were catered for with ease Then the big day arrived where Emily's other half Richard took over with the cooking and omg he done us proud , feedback from all the guests was positive 100% Massive thank you to you both and your staff for making it happen
