Great pub now that Flapper & Jean are running it ! Good atmosphere.I’m from the village but have been in Dubai for last 10 years and it’s nice to come back to some friendly faces a working mans pub with good atmosphere and nice outdoor area when the sun is shining! And watching the World Cup from here was the perfect spot :)Lots of potential look forward to seeing the progress when back again.

The pub is under new management and I really hope they pay attention to trip advisor reviews as they need to make a few improvements if they hope to maintain the pub’s popularity. We live in the village and although we’re not ‘regulars’ in the sense of propping the bar up, we do nip in for a drink or a bite to eat once or twice a week. Since the new owners took over we’ve noticed a couple of things. Firstly, on a positive note, my partner appreciated the provision of an outdoor tv during the football. However, we’ve been more concerned about some of the customer service we’ve received. We have been four times recently and each time the person serving has been really curt and standoffish with us and has met general enquiries with a snappy response. We’re always (painfully) polite so we can’t imagine that their attitudes are unique to us. We love our local and are really disappointed to suddenly be made to feel unwelcome. A bar person isn’t just there to serve drinks. In a small pub like the Clatford Arms, their demeanour determines the atmosphere and can make or break a pub. I really hope that the new owners appreciate this feedback and can try to ensure that they and their staff make ordering drinks a less gruelling experience! On another note, it’s a shame that they now only serve Sunday roasts on a Sunday. We were hoping to grab something light to eat earlier and had to abandon lunch plans in favour of eating at home. Lastly, the £10 minimum for card payments is really annoying and unnecessary when most people can pay contactless these days.

Stopped in for a drink on the way home having recently moved to the area and wanting to see the local pubs. Pub itself was ok, nice big garden and the barman was friendly and chatty. Only problem was the bar was being propped up by a group of old men who ogled us as we walked through and made not-so-subtle comments to each other about how 'tasty' we looked. We took our drinks to the garden but the staring followed. We drank up and left. Not the pubs fault I guess, but if you want a drink in a nice atmosphere in Clatford, go just down the road to the Royal Oak!

We have eaten here with friends. Reasonably priced good home cooked food. The restaurant area is a bit old fashioned, staff friendly and service good.

Food was good, price seemed good value. My only complaint is the speed of service - too slow (for a quiet time).

We organised a family BBQ with the Clatford Arms on Saturday 18 July. Our family has grown so large we needed a venue where there was plenty of room for games and where it was completely hassle free for anyone. There were 36 of us ranging from 3 to 87! The landlady and landlord were excellent, they did all the BBQ for us and the quality and value for money was superb. There was plenty of room for cricket, rounders, football and boules. All ages had a fabulous time and there was laughter from start to finish. We usually pop in for a drink whilst dog walking when it is peaceful and welcoming. I am sure anyone popping in would have liked hearing laughter and people having fun. Thank you to all the polite and helpful staff on the day. Highly recommend

We have been using this pub for quite a few months now though only at lunchtime so far but it is by far one of the most welcoming pubs in the area, the barmaid at lunchtime always remembers what we have to drink and the landlord and landlady are always helpful in discussing the forthcoming beers with my husband. We are made to feel like regulars even though we live quite a distance away and don't get there as often as we would like. This little pub is building up a very good reputation and people are moving from other places just for the pleasure of this gem of a pub. Keep up the great work.

My wife and I dined here twice and found the food and service excellent as well as the price. Our evening visit was for the ribeye steaks which were tender and cooked as requested, accompanied by onions rings, tomato, peas and mushrooms and chips.Out second visit was for Sunday lunch that offered lamb or chicken. We had the roast lamb which was tasty and tender accompanied by roast potatoes cauliflower, carrots, cabbage and Yorkshire pudding. Good helpings of all and the gravy came in a gravy boat. We spoilt ourselves with a shared bread and butter pudding which was really good.We are in the area on holiday, but this place could be a regular if we lived in the vicinity.

Had lunch here on a very hot day. Service was friendly and welcoming. Good selection of food and all home cooked with generous portions. However, the chef needs to learn how to cook fried eggs! I ordered ham eggs and chips and all three eggs came with hard overcooked yolks. More to the point, the establishment didn't even offer to replace them and all that was said was 'we are sorry'! Overall this could be an excellent place to eat for lunch or dinner but if you take my advice, don't order the fried eggs!!

Visited here for our customary “breakfast Friday” Came here 7 years ago when Pork Pie Sam Aldridge failed the Belly Gut Buster!!! I won’t lie! On that occasion the portion was big but the quality was poor. However this time, I can honestly say it’s one of the best breakfast we’ve ever had!!!! Everything was bang on and we were extremely happy with the offering. Had same great food ( fried bread was on point ) the staff were great and and we were full up like a tin can of crackers after. The apprentice Harvey was so impressed he tried to eat his fingers. And Bald Les took a shine to the lady behind the Eastern European Grol working the till All in All we had a great time, and next time we need a breakfast, some oil, and a hub cap we will be sure to pop in. Cheers and All The Best 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We booked here as a Birthday Meal and pre warned when booking that in the party we had a Gluten Free Allergy requirement. When booking in at the Restaurant we asked for a Gluten Free Menu. Our order was taken and within the 5 for £20 starters requested 2 lots of GF Garlic Bread. When the starters came out all were on one platter and not separated and after a couple of minutes waiting requested plates to be able to eat/share the food and at this point was told 'by the way the Garlic Bread is not Gluten Free, we didn't have any'. Thankfully my son had not started to eat!!! We then asked for the Food to be taken away and was brought back 10 minutes later as 2 no Gluten Free Buns toasted with Garlic Butter. The main meal of a Burger and Chips came out with the same bun, which was not eaten as already had enough...... Safe to say the 10% added service fee we took off. Very disappointed.

We looked on Tripadvisor when travelling nearby and did a quick detour for lunch and are so glad we did! We (humans and a dog!) received a very warm welcome. I had the rainbow trout and I can honestly say it was the nicest meal I’ve had in a long time, my husband also very much enjoyed his steak pie. It made his day when he realised the fruit crumble was rhubarb as that’s always been his absolute fave! If in the area again we would definitely return!

On a chilly early spring day - after buying onion sets and seed potatoes in this high quality family-run garden centre - we had an early lunch in their warm conservatory café: delicious soup, bread and particularly outstandingly yummy - and large! - cheese scones - all home made. The cheese scones are by far the best in a 10 mile radius of Romsey! The garden centre is also known locally for the wide collection of high quality dahlia plants.
