Came here for Sunday lunch with family. Huge portions, served piping hot, delicious food. The staff were super friendly and there is a relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and we will return.

We came here for lunch after going to a recommended pub that was closed. A very good find. Courteous welcome and good menu. I chose lasagne. There was plenty of food, all very hot, and well garnished with salads. Good value for money at today's prices. A good find.

Visited for dinner on a journey back to Surrey from Cornwall. Fantastic food in a beautiful traditional English village setting. Locals made us feel very welcome and we witnessed a harriers sing-song & beer downing session ! Would have stayed longer for a few pints & a game of pool if we could have. Well worth the small detour 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

WOW what a great evening. The residents of St Annes Close in Goodworth Clatford had a Christmas meal at the Clatford Arms. The food that Georgie and Shane served up was AWESOME and amazingly good value. The atmosphere was festive and a great time was had by everyone. This is a must go to public house where everyone is welcome. Highly recommended 👍

We organised a lovely Sunday Roast for friends, and were not disappointed. Six wonderful, home cooked roasts lamb and beef, all were excellent. Generous portions, and good quality, tasted lovely beef especially was superb. Few had desserts, home cooked again crumble and treacle pud with custard, both excellent again. Friendly, staff and welcoming, will definitely return maybe mid week next time.

We had the the fish and chips diner as advertised on FB for just £18 for 2. The fish was very fresh and the batter delicious. The owner explained how it was made and that all food was gluten free. We really enjoyed our stay there.

We booked our staff family party here, for around 60 people, including quite a few children of all ages. Georgie and Shane were really accommodating, we had bouncy castles and garden games set up in the huge field out the back, (I organised this) but they sorted the marquee, the food was bang on- something for everyone, we had a lovely spread including my highlight of the duck wraps with hoisin - the duck (confit in house) was tender and delicious, generously filled. The panko prawns were huge and crispy and so yummy! Lots of other nice dishes, lovely cheesecake, chocolate cake annd fruit platters to finish. All our guests really enjoyed the food. The bar staff were friendly and got the tables cleared quickly, we were using the pub for our party for almost 8 hours and felt really welcome, everyone had fun. It’s a great venue for an event, the field is beautiful, clean loos, nice people. I would certainly recommend the Clatford Arms and we will be using the venue again for future events if they’ll have us! Thanks

The pub is under new management and I really hope they pay attention to trip advisor reviews as they need to make a few improvements if they hope to maintain the pub’s popularity. We live in the village and although we’re not ‘regulars’ in the sense of propping the bar up, we do nip in for a drink or a bite to eat once or twice a week. Since the new owners took over we’ve noticed a couple of things. Firstly, on a positive note, my partner appreciated the provision of an outdoor tv during the football. However, we’ve been more concerned about some of the customer service we’ve received. We have been four times recently and each time the person serving has been really curt and standoffish with us and has met general enquiries with a snappy response. We’re always (painfully) polite so we can’t imagine that their attitudes are unique to us. We love our local and are really disappointed to suddenly be made to feel unwelcome. A bar person isn’t just there to serve drinks. In a small pub like the Clatford Arms, their demeanour determines the atmosphere and can make or break a pub. I really hope that the new owners appreciate this feedback and can try to ensure that they and their staff make ordering drinks a less gruelling experience! On another note, it’s a shame that they now only serve Sunday roasts on a Sunday. We were hoping to grab something light to eat earlier and had to abandon lunch plans in favour of eating at home. Lastly, the £10 minimum for card payments is really annoying and unnecessary when most people can pay contactless these days.

Stopped in for a drink on the way home having recently moved to the area and wanting to see the local pubs. Pub itself was ok, nice big garden and the barman was friendly and chatty. Only problem was the bar was being propped up by a group of old men who ogled us as we walked through and made not-so-subtle comments to each other about how 'tasty' we looked. We took our drinks to the garden but the staring followed. We drank up and left. Not the pubs fault I guess, but if you want a drink in a nice atmosphere in Clatford, go just down the road to the Royal Oak!

We organised a family BBQ with the Clatford Arms on Saturday 18 July. Our family has grown so large we needed a venue where there was plenty of room for games and where it was completely hassle free for anyone. There were 36 of us ranging from 3 to 87! The landlady and landlord were excellent, they did all the BBQ for us and the quality and value for money was superb. There was plenty of room for cricket, rounders, football and boules. All ages had a fabulous time and there was laughter from start to finish. We usually pop in for a drink whilst dog walking when it is peaceful and welcoming. I am sure anyone popping in would have liked hearing laughter and people having fun. Thank you to all the polite and helpful staff on the day. Highly recommend

We have been using this pub for quite a few months now though only at lunchtime so far but it is by far one of the most welcoming pubs in the area, the barmaid at lunchtime always remembers what we have to drink and the landlord and landlady are always helpful in discussing the forthcoming beers with my husband. We are made to feel like regulars even though we live quite a distance away and don't get there as often as we would like. This little pub is building up a very good reputation and people are moving from other places just for the pleasure of this gem of a pub. Keep up the great work.

My wife and I dined here twice and found the food and service excellent as well as the price. Our evening visit was for the ribeye steaks which were tender and cooked as requested, accompanied by onions rings, tomato, peas and mushrooms and chips.Out second visit was for Sunday lunch that offered lamb or chicken. We had the roast lamb which was tasty and tender accompanied by roast potatoes cauliflower, carrots, cabbage and Yorkshire pudding. Good helpings of all and the gravy came in a gravy boat. We spoilt ourselves with a shared bread and butter pudding which was really good.We are in the area on holiday, but this place could be a regular if we lived in the vicinity.

Had lunch here on a very hot day. Service was friendly and welcoming. Good selection of food and all home cooked with generous portions. However, the chef needs to learn how to cook fried eggs! I ordered ham eggs and chips and all three eggs came with hard overcooked yolks. More to the point, the establishment didn't even offer to replace them and all that was said was 'we are sorry'! Overall this could be an excellent place to eat for lunch or dinner but if you take my advice, don't order the fried eggs!!

Visited here for our customary “breakfast Friday” Came here 7 years ago when Pork Pie Sam Aldridge failed the Belly Gut Buster!!! I won’t lie! On that occasion the portion was big but the quality was poor. However this time, I can honestly say it’s one of the best breakfast we’ve ever had!!!! Everything was bang on and we were extremely happy with the offering. Had same great food ( fried bread was on point ) the staff were great and and we were full up like a tin can of crackers after. The apprentice Harvey was so impressed he tried to eat his fingers. And Bald Les took a shine to the lady behind the Eastern European Grol working the till All in All we had a great time, and next time we need a breakfast, some oil, and a hub cap we will be sure to pop in. Cheers and All The Best 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We looked on Tripadvisor when travelling nearby and did a quick detour for lunch and are so glad we did! We (humans and a dog!) received a very warm welcome. I had the rainbow trout and I can honestly say it was the nicest meal I’ve had in a long time, my husband also very much enjoyed his steak pie. It made his day when he realised the fruit crumble was rhubarb as that’s always been his absolute fave! If in the area again we would definitely return!
