Great local, decent selection of beers and wines, friendly staff and Franky the landlord puts a lot of effort putting on events.

Fantastic pub, really enjoyed the pizza and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Will call in again soon

We go to the Claremont every few weeks and it's a reason we want to stay in the area. We love the food and the staff are always friendly. The menu changed a while ago and it's even better than before. We've tried most of the pizzas and they are great quality (regular style, not american style - which is great for me :D ). We particularly like the new starters. The pub have a lovely cozy atmosphere. While I'm sure they have occasional days where things go wrong, we've yet to experience one of them. Very happy to have the Claremont around <3

I’m coeliac and always check that restaurants are safe. I had called the Claremont ahead of time and spoke to a gentleman who was extremely helpful and explained how they handled gluten free pizza’s, other gluten free options on their menu and how they could also augment dishes. I really appreciated how kind and informative he was. My visit was equally as good and the server was so helpful confirming that everything was safe. I had the truffle gluten free pizza and it was sooooo good!

We were looking for somewhere to eat on our first night of the trip and found this almost by accident. Their service was great, a very friendly team, and the food was excellent. We had the pizzas. We’d definitely recommend.

Took a couple of guests here a couple of weeks ago. Everything was excellent. The pizzas were to die for! Mind you, I don't get out much! Go and enjoy - if you can get in! Go early!

I've been here a number of times and every time the staff are really welcoming and professional. The food is excellent, when they have what you want. The issue seems to be that there's a lack of planning. I've attended the pub quiz multiple times and each time, despite it being a regular event, they've run out of basic items like chips, cider, Guinness etc. The staff more than make up for it by being super friendly, and the quiz master is great, but I question why staples like chips havent been ordered in advance when they know the quiz is an upcoming event. It just feels like something is wrong with the organisation of the place.

Really good spot to watch rugby and still quiet enough to have a chat with friends, spacious and really quick service so the children didn’t have to wait too long.

Good selection of draught pints, nice atmosphere, decor and friendly staff. Pizza ok, could of been quicker, but generally very good.

Although this pub is known for its pizza, I came in for a colourful Sunday Roast. The beef was cooked well, as were the vegetables and pigs in blankets. The potatoes could have been more crisp, and the amount of beef/gravy was quite stingy. Service was fine. Friendly staff and a decent pint. Relatively quiet atmosphere on a Sunday.

The Pizza here used to be great, I went last night and I'm afraid their pizza is now inedible, it's not hard to make a good pizza. The claremont is a great pub for drinks and a chat, don't eat the pizza.

Saturday night, empty with possibly one of the worse experiences ever. The gentleman serving us was new, lovely and tried his best to make amends for what was to follow. Chicken Pie had frozen (pink) meat as seen, pizzas were topped with cold mozzarella which the owner failed to realise left the pizzas cold. As well as that, some of the pizzas did come out cold. When complained wasn’t met with the nicest tone. There were only two other people in the pub on a Saturday night, a clear indication of the service and product here. Would avoid.

Had the pork bites as a starter, which were very good. Also tried the Truffle Pizza which was cooked by Liam, it was tasty and the ingredients worked well, very enjoyable. When we are in the area again we will go back. Nice atmosphere, good service and friendly staff.

Nice decor/seating but the service and food is poor and overpriced. Reviews and photos are from the past owners and the food is now unpleasant. It use to be a lovely locals place with good limited menu, we’re locals but we won’t be returning.

Went to the pub for the quiz and thought we would have some dinner at the same time. We queued for a while to get served. The vegan options weren’t that great. I had the pizza and my mate had the pie. There was no vegan cheese and it was very very dry. The meat eaters of the group really enjoyed their meals.

I booked a table here around two weeks ago via the pub’s website, on arrival we were told to sit anywhere. When we ordered our food we were told we couldn’t sit where we had chosen and had the options of a tiny cramped table or to go and sit outside - it’s late October! We were also told that the prices on the menus we had been given were wrong and that the hey had increased. Drinks were ok and pizzas (that’s basically all the menu consists of with a few exceptions) we’re acceptable. We ate and left - shambles if a place.

Every few months, we go to The Claremont, our local, for drinks and pizza. We haven't been in a while, but had heard that there was new management. The pizza crust is now very thin--which I like, but this was thin and hard, so it cracked in our teeth. There was also less cheese across the pizza, and the salami seemed thinner or maybe there was simply less of it. Here's hoping the pub brings back the old recipe--until then, we'll be going into Bath for much better pizza.

Friendly pub. Recent change of owner (July2023). Small, outside area, with seating and a covered wagon. Inside is split-levels with TV showing sport and quieter area down some stairs with larger tables for large groups. Suggest booking. Good pub grub and local sourced. Themed menu. Nothing too posh, pizza, hotdogs, burger that type of thing. Good

Probably the worst pizza I've ever eaten. They've changed the menu since I was last there and no longer do Barrel & Stone as in the pictures on their marketing. The base was almost impossible to cut, and was under-cooked. The mushrooms(truffles?) were raw, the bechamel sauce not even warm. No sign of truffle oil. I sent it back to be cooked a bit more, and it came back much the same. I ate it because I had to wait so long for it and I was starving. The beer was good though, and service pleasant, though slow.

Lovely lunch where we had all 5 of the starters as a main meal for 3 of us. They were all delicious. And pretty quiet for lunch, unlike the Hare and Hounds, we didn't have to book ahead. What's not to love!?

I am Working in the Claremont in bath today, the food being prepared in the kitchen looked inviting and smelt amazing... So I ordered a personal one for my lunch. It was 2nd to none... So fresh and tasty not the like the commercial ones you get from branded pizza shops. The Claremont is spotlessly clean throughout kitchen is visible from the lower dining area and again it's absolutely pristine the attention to cleanliness and hygiene is clear to see Both George and Mark are really welcoming, this place is beautifully presented with pleasant outside spaces for smoking and eating. A real credit to these guys. The pizzas I ate was prepared by George... It Was excellent with Amazing flavour and really quick to the table even though there was a few others being ordered by customers. I would highly recommend if visiting bath and want some excellent food and drink.

After reading some of these previous reviews I find it surprising we are talking about the same place, because yes they have a nice selection of beers and the pub looks nice decor wise with the cosy horse box out the back however.. I’ve been a number of times where I have been served by a particular member of staff with a beard and glasses (assuming the manager) he has never once smiled nor said hello nor asked how my day was or made any effort to be polite in anyway to me or anybody I’ve ever been with. this is so sad because I can tell the chef and other members of staff really are very warm and welcoming but this particular person should not be working in a public facing role when he makes me feel very unwelcome and a good example of when he was rude (most recently) is when I kindly asked him if they were doing food I was then bluntly told no (even though food was meant to have started by six pm, and so I asked if they would do food at any point in the night to which he very angrily and aggressively told me he didn’t know. No explanation, no Reason no apology. I was waiting for friends and would be more than happy to wait for one of your delicious pizzas but due to his actions I decided to meet them elsewhere. This is money that could be spent in your pub. all I ask is for the future to simply force out a single smile when you see somebody enter the pub (as if you weren’t really unhappy about being there) because it reflects with us the customer. Lastly he was sat on a table on his phone for the majority of the time I was in there (almost two hours) , granted it was a Tuesday night but I myself am a manger for a bar and there’s always something you should be doing . I apologise for the negativity because I’m a very positive person but I can tell you first hand you are only as strong as the weakest member of your team so maybe have somebody who knows how to smile greet the customers. I’d be more to an happy to potentially remove this comment if I could get a reason or potential apology because it’s not fair that this one personas actions should negatively affect your business. Really friendly pub. We went in with our 1 year old for some food. She ran into the kitchen and the chefs didn't mind. They were happy showing her stuff. Pizzas were really good. With knowing there isn't a kids menu but plenty of food kids will eat

Wow! We’ve just had the best experience at the Claremont. It was my son’s 5th birthday and all the staff went above and beyond to give him an amazing time. They made him a special happy birthday sign for the table, the manager bought him a free milk (!) plus the whole pub sang happy birthday when the cake came out. Please thank them for us. They’re amazing 🤩 x

This place is immaculate, with a few nooks and crannies to sit and enjoy a drink. Prob a locals pub up in Camden/Larkhall. Looks really nice and well worth a visit.

Great pizzas, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. All you want from a local pub. A tiny outside patio, but inside was cute and cosy.

The Claremont is located well off the beaten path, but we wanted to give it a try and so booked a reservation for the Sunday Roast, though the only time available was 3:00 pm. No problem, we would just be a bit hungrier by lunchtime. The walk up, which took us 30 minutes, was quite nice but when we arrived we were greeted with the news that the restaurant literally had no food, other than bar snacks. The reason, we were told, was that they had had a lot of walk-ins. Which means we shouldn't have bothered with the reservation in the first place, and that management failed to honor it's inherent agreement with those fools who bothered to make a reservation. And so, now quite hungry, we re-traced our steps back down the hill in the futile hope of finding another dining option at 3:30 pm on a Sunday. While it's unlikely, should we decide to try the Claremont again, I will update this review to actually reflect on the food and service. At the time, however, all I have to go on is the establishment's fairly blatant disregard for it's customers.

This place is so lovely, the staff are always friendly and welcoming, the pizzas are great and the prices really reasonable. They've done such a great job bringing this pub back to life, it's got such a great atmosphere. They've also recently taken over The Old Crown at Weston, Bath, which no doubt will be just as amazing! Well done Daniel and the team. We love the Claremont!

A really pleasant pub up in the hills around Bath but not far out so nice for a visit from town when you fancy stretching your legs. The food was good - we enjoyed some excellent chips and a delicious pizza although its base was slightly scorched on one side but not enough to ruin it. The staff were friendly. A couple of the staff's jokes didn't sit too well with me but I suspect that was down to me being nervous on a date with someone who might just be too good for me, so it won't stop me from going back because it is a very nice place.

Conveniently located in Fairfield Park with a good selection of beers a wide variety of drinks and a good menu food menu. Service was quick and delivered with a smile.

We went for a Sunday roast and though it was a bit pricey the food was really good and the young blonde lady that served us was lovely and attentive. Place was quiete.We went there a few times to watch some matches or for aperitif and it was nice.

We don't normally do pizza. After being to Italy, we always made them ourselves, as felt no one could make a good one. But....I have to say these were extremely good. In fact, delicious! Service was fabulous too.

The food (porchetta roast) was fabulous, wine list tip top and staff lovely. We spent a very relaxed and fun afternoon at The Claremont.

This was our second visit for Sunday lunch and it didn't disappoint. Easy to miss in the shops area at the top of Camden, parking is free locally and it's next to the bus stop from the city. It's a traditional ale house, comfortable and clean with a short, careful menu and good beer and wine. No noisy music or intrusive screens, just good easygoing family welcome. The owner/chef is a delight and his food is excellent. Good quality meat, fresh al dente vegetables and good gravy. There's always an interesting vegetarian option as well. The team is really friendly and helpful and there's outside space for the warmer months. A good family choice.

I visited this beautiful pub for a roast on a Sunday and I had the lamb, it was absolutely amazing and the meat was falling off the bone. Would definitely recommend for a roast! Great pub, Great food!

The Claremont have just started serving roast lunches on Sunday so my wife and I thought we’d give it a go. We both had roast beef and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was tender and cooked medium rare; the vegetables were cooked to perfection...

Staying for a couple of days near this pub and didn't want to hike in to the city, so called in here to see what it was like. We were met by very friendly and welcoming staff. We ordered some garlic bread to start with...

We were staying on the outskirts of Bath for one night and looking for somewhere to eat. The Claremont was pretty close so we decided to go there. Very relaxing, very friendly people working there, great service and fantastic pizzas.

Excellent pub. Tasty pizzas with somewhat different toppings. Good ale including a couple of 'own brand". Golden Ale is lovely. Good indoor space and a busy outdoor area. Handy for The Rondo
