Nice upstairs for functions. Easily approached from Oxford Street Underground station. Good food and efficient service.

Authentic british food, fish and chips and beef pie were good. We wanted to eat something traditional, and that was more important than the taste 😆 Definitely something to try!

Was trying out legit oubs in london and fell into this. The atmosphere was really nice and good for afterwork drinks or just a place to chill out.

I visited this pub by myself. I was served by the staff name mahesh. He good at service I think. He treated me really well. I had fish and chips . The food was amazing.

It has a very atmospheric atmosphere and retains the style of the old building. The food is of high quality and the waiters are friendly. Highly recommended!

Great pub. Always enjoy dropping by and having a pint. In summer you can have a drink outside and food is offered inside with a traditional pub menu. Good place to meet friends in London and plenty of restaurant choices in area to gather also. Easy to access off regent street.

Busy pub, that means must be good. Then you have a pie and you understand why busy. Best pie had in ages.

The pub is beautiful and food is ok. But service is very meh. We went for lunch in the middle of the week. The lady behind the bar counter who greeted us and told us that we could get any table available was the only friendly member of staff. Ordering is 100% online including payment so you're required to choose tipping options even before you're actually serviced which is bonkers. How am I supposed to evaluate service before it has actually happened? Well I guess if you don't tip beforehand to ensure it, you're not "entitled" to have a basic friendly service. Not worth it then. Just go to any other "normal" pub/restaurant and tip as you like after you've been waited on. About food: we tried the classic British fish and chips and sausage and mashed potatoes. It was pretty good and filling. There's plenty of beer options, but I got a glass of wine which was nice too.

Well organised bar staff. No hanging around. Good choice of beers and lagers. Nice Victorian pub.

Wonderful traditional pub with very cosy atmosphere. We loved the food (pulled duck rolls, beef brisket pie, fish and chips). Unfortunately no table service due to shortage in staff.

The pub is on the ground floor and the restaurant is upstairs. Very quiet, beautiful, and cosy. The food was delicious

The bar is nice, but the food quality degraded significantly since September 2023 to the extent I cannot recommend it anymore. The kitchen is closed at random times and you would never know when in advance, as it’s working times are not mentioned anywhere: neither on their website, Google Maps or the building itself. Cheap pop music in the dining room which ruins the atmosphere.

That is an old london pub with a great selection of beer and awesome food. I had. Bitter called the landlord and a chicken and mushroom pie did not disappoint. It's also good for people watching too. A great place to park yourself when the significant other is shopping.🍻💂🥧$$

We had a great time at the Clachan today! Food came out without delay, service was good too, Johns & Akmil were a great help (made sure to check my friend with an allergy wasn’t going to die😂).

In my 7 days in London, I enjoyed the most here. I was alona and lucly there was a live music. The singer was nice and the atmosphere was amazing. On the other hand, the furniture and the other staffs were similar with the other pubs. The food I ordered was delicious (all of them) and the beer was as it is. Highly recommend especiall in Fridays.

A morning of exploring and shopping around central London was rewarded by an atmospheric pub lunch of fish & chips. The food ticked the all the boxes and the service was friendly and welcoming. Well worth the effort to choose The Clachan over the many other places to recharge.

Highly recommend if you would like to experience England pub culture. This Grade II listed pub with Victorian buildings signature. Those interior decor like paintings, wood carvings….etc worth to visit. Brought my family there to grab a light bites and enjoy a pint after shopping. Great service and surprisingly the scampi in fish platter is sooo delicious. ( grilled broccoli is a bit overcooked and dry) They offer traditional Pie and you should try if you’re fans of pie. No worries, variety of beer and alcohol for you. Central London price, for me it’s reasonable as it’s just located behind Liberty - heart of Soho. Personally I like to visit in afternoon ( not so crowded and easy to get a table). Outdoor seat, ground floor and upstairs for you to choose ( depends on if you just take a drink or dine in).

This is a great place. Nice food and nice drinks offer. Live music is really nice. I often get served by Victoria who is a very professional and kind bartender. Highly recommended.

I came for the evening drinks . It was very good atmosphere and enjoyed the live music and had some bar snacks . It was a lovely day . I will revisit again and best spot in Oxford circus for a pint .

Really nice place to have a dinner and to take a drink. Food is typical and delicious ! People are very nice and a positive point : you have a place to have a drink, and upstairs you have a special place to have a dinner. I recommend you this pub, at the beginning of Soho district

We stopped in here quickly for a light bite, the food was tasty and came very quickly, and johns up in the restaurant was very attentive and kind to everyone around us, and had a cracking shirt! I'd definitely go back

The Clachan is a hidden gem with a perfect blend of cozy and classic. I visited recently with a friend and the pub’s dark, moody ambiance with its Victorian charm made it an inviting escape. Candles on the tables and deep, dark wood create a setting that’s both nostalgic and snug. My friend ordered the fish and chips with mashed peas- a quintessential pub dish. The fish was delightfully crispy, not too greasy, and perfectly seasoned. The chips were light and expertly fried, making for a classic pub experience. I opted for the avocado, bacon and chicken salad with garlic flatbread, and we shared a side of halloumi fries. The salad was both filling and fresh, with tender chicken and crisp vegetables. The halloumi fries were cooked to perfection- melty, salty, and simply irresistible. We enjoyed a pint each, and I couldn’t resist trying one of the gin berry spritz cocktails, which was SO good that I’d return just for that. The only downside was a bit of noise, but that’s not too surprising for central London. Overall, the Clachan is a beautiful venue that combines great food with a cozy atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back!

Amazing pub in Carnaby. We had fish and chips, snitzel and salmon and dill fishcake and everything was delitious. Johns and Akmil were very kind and accomodating.

Good place where to get a beer just around the corner of Oxford Street and close to Carnaby Street. You may also avoid the crowd that goes forth and back Oxford Street and relax for a while. Looking forward to go back there!

I had an enjoyable visit on Saturday evening before and after my meal. I drank St. Austel Tribute and it tasted really fresh and hoppy. Far better than the previous pub I had it in that day. There is weekly live music and the pub is busy with a pleasant atmosphere and nice, clean surroundings. Unfortunately I lost an expensive item and had to call the pub to try and track it down. The bar manager on the phone was very kind and helpful and checked CCTV footage to see if I had it and was able to find me leaving the first time with my expensive guitar pedals in hand, narrowing down my search to the restaurant I went to.

I was thinking of giving up because the first floor was full, but I was able to spend a relaxing time with my family in the quiet seats on the second floor. The first floor has a pub-like atmosphere. The female clerk was very kind. Fish and chips, beef ale pie, and scotch eggs with beer. The sauce that came with the Scotch egg was so delicious that I wanted to add it to the chips, so I fought to avoid it. It tasted great!

🚇 Oxford Circus 🍺 £7.15 Pilsner Urquell A Busy Buzzy Boozer. The Clachan is located on Kingly Street which is sandwiched between Regent Street and Carnaby Street on the southern edge of Soho. The nearest Tube is Oxford Circus, it’s a three minute walk to get here. The pub was first licensed in 1750 and started life as The Bricklayers Arms. The pub was rebuilt in 1898 and renamed The Clachan prior to rebuilding, ‘Clachan’ is the Gaelic word for ‘meeting place’. This Grade II listed pub was once owned by neighbouring Liberty department store, Liberty had plans to use it as a storehouse but then sold it off in 1993. This is a good size two room pub that has retained many original Victorian features. This once Gin Palace has had all the partitions removed to make the main bar area one large space. The decor is traditional and features wood carvings and structural ironwork. Around the walls are a number brass frames pictures and photos, etched mirrors and anecdotal info about the West End. At the core of the pub is a central servery with a mahogany counter and etched glass on the gantry. Upstairs is the Liberty Bar which is set aside for dining. The beer selection was solid and included a good selection of Keg and Cask options. I decided on a pint of Pilsner Urquell, my pint was on point, cost was Central London prices. My Son and I were starving, so we had a look at the classic pub grub menu. We both ordered Fish & Chips which was thoroughly enjoyable, the portion size was huge, cost was £21.50 each. We arrived just after 5pm after a crawl around Soho. The pub was packed full of weary shoppers, tourists and post work punters. The atmosphere was upbeat and buzzy, the service was all smiles with not much waiting time to be served. I have visited this @nicholsonspubs boozer many times over the years and have always enjoyed visiting. This pub always seems to be busy but do take time out to look at the decor when you next visit. For my first pub experience in London, I must admit I really enjoyed the Saturday night I had at The clachan. Great atmosphere... had the sausage and mash which was wonderful as were the drinks. Service could have been better and more welcoming I shouldn't have to open the bottle of wine myself! We had a shared starter but no plates. I had to ask for plates Beef rib pie 6/10, 10oz Rib-eye steak was more 6oz but 6/10 Great location for pre-Palladium meal but needs to up its game

Excellent dinner! The pies are incredible. The service was the best! We were on the dinner place (upstsairs). Patrick, was our waiter and he was soo nice. Excellent service, and he made the noght much better for us. 10/10 his service. Incredible experience. We are defintely coming back. :))

Very good, the upper floor is not very busy which suited our 5 year old. Great food, friendly staff.

The food was overall good but not great - the fish and chips were not as good as elsewhere. The Mac and Cheese was quite good. Upstairs ambience was nice and not too noisy.

One of the few pubs with a kitchen open until 9.30pm on Saturdays. Don and Johns kind, fast and attentive. Fascinating liberty atmosphere.

Just found this place across from the Palladium. Great pub, great staff, very friendly. Didn't have a chance to eat, which was a shame. Had a solo guitar act on (appears Sundays) who was brilliant!

Very pleased, a great find, and near Oxford Circus. The atmosphere was great and a very friendly service. The food was excellent. We had steak and ale pie and salmon fish cakes. For dessert, apple & blackberry crumble and a sticky toffee pudding to die for!! Both drinks and food are at a good price. Many thanks for a lovely pre theatre dinner.
