The Clachan in City of London, Westminster

Quite a busy "Tourist" pub close by Oxford Circus. It's part of a chain so same food and selections as other pubs. Their online order service (QR code) was very slow. We were lucky to get a table and grabbed some burgers and beer. Burgers a bit on the dry side.

We were a party of five who booked a table to have lunch before going to the theatre. Cosy pub with dining area upstairs. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. We were served by Vittoria who was professional , helpful, friendly and so efficient. There is a wide choice of food to suit different budgets. We opted for grilled sea bass with mussels and prawns, and steak and ale pie - both delicious. We had lemon tart for pudding and they even served a portion of ice cream with caramel sauce ( which wasn’t on the menu). Overall we really enjoyed our lunch experience. One tiny point- it’s an old building and the stairs were rather steep (we were a party of very senior ladies and we managed).

Lots of good beer on tap. Good atmosphere. Real old and great classic English pub. Nice here and my favorite in SOHO..

I came here on a lively Thursday night with a few friends. The atmosphere was great! I had a few pints and the spinach and falafel burger which was a delicious veggie option. The service was great even on a busy night and the staff were really friendly & helpful. Will definitely visit again when passing through central London.

The Clachan is top notch, I took my parents there who are visiting me from overseas. The atmosphere was inviting, and a good escape from the crowded streets. The service was impeccable. The food was great. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, from the steak pie to chicken schnitzel. The portions were generous.The pub itself has a lovely ambiance, and the booths at the back of the pub are definitely the best seats in the house. The Guinness was creamy too and could tell it had been stored well. I would highly recommend coming here, if you're looking for a pub around Carnaby/Soho.

We were there as a group of five before Christmas and Don and Akhil made us feel very welcome indeed. Food was good and well-priced. Enjoyable visit all round!

Really poor quality food served on 4 Jan 25 where we had dinner for 5. Steak and ale pie had 4 small pieces of meat, with a rock hard crust and the soggiest carrots ever. Fish and chips came without the scampi and with the coldest chips, and the burger was average at best. Really disappointing experience.

Great restaurant! There is a “PUB” part and a restaurant part so there is no noise from the PUB. Very pleasant, great service and the food is very good! I advise you to book!!

I was not very impressed with the sea bass, prawn , and new potatoes dish. The prawns were like chewing on bullets. This was supposed to have been cooked in a lobster sauce. There were far too many potatoes and not enough vegetables (1 piece of stem broccoli, that was it). This dish proved to be rather under whelming for myself and one other.

Bar staff is rude, ignorant and all amateurs has no respect ...expert in ignoring customers with an horrible attitude, polish accent barmen servet after calling him, despite he had my pint on his hand show me the door... How dare you !! As a regular , neither me nor mates, never will come and take the staff chip on shoulder...byee

We were looking around the area for a place to eat and came across this pub. Food was good, service was perfect! Very popular pub, so often crowded with lack of seating. Staff very slow, drinks choice poor and staff have little knowledge of their stock.

Bar staff downstairs look fed up but that's to be expected in a London pub on minimum wage. Staff up in the restaurant were much more friendly and chatty. Food was great too. Always come here for Christmas drinks with old work friends and we'll keep coming. Great location and size.

Great traditional pub just off the main streets. Service is swift and efficient even on a busy lunch. Extensive selection of beers and wines to suit all tastes backed up with good pub food menu.

Latimer Room spacious for our group, nicely laid out, spotless & own bar. Pre ordering everybody's 3 course choices for lunch in advance was efficient. The menu had a wide & varied selection in all 3 courses and the food was served punctually at our pre arranged time, it arrived all freshly prepared & very presentable on the plates with the main courses nice & hot. The staff provided a magnificent service always happy, friendly & looked after us with all our drink & food requirements. Considering the excellent location in central London the food & drink pricing was good value for money

Il servizio molto gentile e il cibo buonissimo,anche da bere tutto perfetto : due birre molto particolari dal gusto intenso e la coco cola anche quella molto buona Io e la mia famiglia abbiamo mangiato : fish and chips molto croccante e per nulla unto,burger a doppio piano molto alto e saporito e infine un nachos molto pieno di salse e abbondante. Il locale molto carino e accogliente e natalizio.

We hosted another Christmas lunch on the first floor. Great food, venue, atmosphere and service. We'll be back again next year.

A very nice place to eat something. The food is good. Really very good care from Akhil and Mahesh. It has a lot of charm. It's a place to come.

Very nice British pub located on Kingly Street. Fascinating Art Nouveau atmosphere, beautiful environment, well-kept and, currently, Christmas themed! We didn't have dinner, as we simply stopped by for a beer, which was personally excellent! Prices in line with the standard. I would recommend, regarding service, to smile a little more with customers..

Classic and very busy pub just off Regent St. Had a Tribute; a Cornish Pale Ale. I believe I've had it before. Very nice, at any rate.

A nice pub by the carnaby street to enjoy a quality time while having a nice collections of beers and ales.

This establishment needs to get a new manager as she is useless at managing reserve tables, I have added a prime example, as she used pathetic a A4 plastic envelope that had been moved well before my attendance at the table. She got really cross, put I still finished my pint with my wife, I spoke to the lady’s and gents whom reserve the table and asked us to join them, But we were sorry as had prior engagements to attend, but we wished them a lovely evening before we left and they were fantastic. The Manager needs to have more customer skills as she is dreadfully lacking them! Authentic british food, fish and chips and beef pie were good. We wanted to eat something traditional, and that was more important than the taste 😆 Definitely something to try!

Was trying out legit oubs in london and fell into this. The atmosphere was really nice and good for afterwork drinks or just a place to chill out.

I visited this pub by myself. I was served by the staff name mahesh. He good at service I think. He treated me really well. I had fish and chips . The food was amazing.

It has a very atmospheric atmosphere and retains the style of the old building. The food is of high quality and the waiters are friendly. Highly recommended!

Great pub. Always enjoy dropping by and having a pint. In summer you can have a drink outside and food is offered inside with a traditional pub menu. Good place to meet friends in London and plenty of restaurant choices in area to gather also. Easy to access off regent street.

The pub is beautiful and food is ok. But service is very meh. We went for lunch in the middle of the week. The lady behind the bar counter who greeted us and told us that we could get any table available was the only friendly member of staff. Ordering is 100% online including payment so you're required to choose tipping options even before you're actually serviced which is bonkers. How am I supposed to evaluate service before it has actually happened? Well I guess if you don't tip beforehand to ensure it, you're not "entitled" to have a basic friendly service. Not worth it then. Just go to any other "normal" pub/restaurant and tip as you like after you've been waited on. About food: we tried the classic British fish and chips and sausage and mashed potatoes. It was pretty good and filling. There's plenty of beer options, but I got a glass of wine which was nice too.

Not satisfied. Drought beer was not fresh, old and warm. Waited years to get overprized below average nachos.

Wonderful traditional pub with very cosy atmosphere. We loved the food (pulled duck rolls, beef brisket pie, fish and chips). Unfortunately no table service due to shortage in staff.

The pub is on the ground floor and the restaurant is upstairs. Very quiet, beautiful, and cosy. The food was delicious

The bar is nice, but the food quality degraded significantly since September 2023 to the extent I cannot recommend it anymore. The kitchen is closed at random times and you would never know when in advance, as it’s working times are not mentioned anywhere: neither on their website, Google Maps or the building itself. Cheap pop music in the dining room which ruins the atmosphere.

That is an old london pub with a great selection of beer and awesome food. I had. Bitter called the landlord and a chicken and mushroom pie did not disappoint. It's also good for people watching too. A great place to park yourself when the significant other is shopping.🍻💂🥧$$

In my 7 days in London, I enjoyed the most here. I was alona and lucly there was a live music. The singer was nice and the atmosphere was amazing. On the other hand, the furniture and the other staffs were similar with the other pubs. The food I ordered was delicious (all of them) and the beer was as it is. Highly recommend especiall in Fridays.

A morning of exploring and shopping around central London was rewarded by an atmospheric pub lunch of fish & chips. The food ticked the all the boxes and the service was friendly and welcoming. Well worth the effort to choose The Clachan over the many other places to recharge.

This is a great place. Nice food and nice drinks offer. Live music is really nice. I often get served by Victoria who is a very professional and kind bartender. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend if you would like to experience England pub culture. This Grade II listed pub with Victorian buildings signature. Those interior decor like paintings, wood carvings….etc worth to visit. Brought my family there to grab a light bites and enjoy a pint after shopping. Great service and surprisingly the scampi in fish platter is sooo delicious. ( grilled broccoli is a bit overcooked and dry) They offer traditional Pie and you should try if you’re fans of pie. No worries, variety of beer and alcohol for you. Central London price, for me it’s reasonable as it’s just located behind Liberty - heart of Soho. Personally I like to visit in afternoon ( not so crowded and easy to get a table). Outdoor seat, ground floor and upstairs for you to choose ( depends on if you just take a drink or dine in).

I came for the evening drinks . It was very good atmosphere and enjoyed the live music and had some bar snacks . It was a lovely day . I will revisit again and best spot in Oxford circus for a pint .

We stopped in here quickly for a light bite, the food was tasty and came very quickly, and johns up in the restaurant was very attentive and kind to everyone around us, and had a cracking shirt! I'd definitely go back

The Clachan is a hidden gem with a perfect blend of cozy and classic. I visited recently with a friend and the pub’s dark, moody ambiance with its Victorian charm made it an inviting escape. Candles on the tables and deep, dark wood create a setting that’s both nostalgic and snug. My friend ordered the fish and chips with mashed peas- a quintessential pub dish. The fish was delightfully crispy, not too greasy, and perfectly seasoned. The chips were light and expertly fried, making for a classic pub experience. I opted for the avocado, bacon and chicken salad with garlic flatbread, and we shared a side of halloumi fries. The salad was both filling and fresh, with tender chicken and crisp vegetables. The halloumi fries were cooked to perfection- melty, salty, and simply irresistible. We enjoyed a pint each, and I couldn’t resist trying one of the gin berry spritz cocktails, which was SO good that I’d return just for that. The only downside was a bit of noise, but that’s not too surprising for central London. Overall, the Clachan is a beautiful venue that combines great food with a cozy atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back!

Amazing pub in Carnaby. We had fish and chips, snitzel and salmon and dill fishcake and everything was delitious. Johns and Akmil were very kind and accomodating.

Good place where to get a beer just around the corner of Oxford Street and close to Carnaby Street. You may also avoid the crowd that goes forth and back Oxford Street and relax for a while. Looking forward to go back there!

I was thinking of giving up because the first floor was full, but I was able to spend a relaxing time with my family in the quiet seats on the second floor. The first floor has a pub-like atmosphere. The female clerk was very kind. Fish and chips, beef ale pie, and scotch eggs with beer. The sauce that came with the Scotch egg was so delicious that I wanted to add it to the chips, so I fought to avoid it. It tasted great!

I had an enjoyable visit on Saturday evening before and after my meal. I drank St. Austel Tribute and it tasted really fresh and hoppy. Far better than the previous pub I had it in that day. There is weekly live music and the pub is busy with a pleasant atmosphere and nice, clean surroundings. Unfortunately I lost an expensive item and had to call the pub to try and track it down. The bar manager on the phone was very kind and helpful and checked CCTV footage to see if I had it and was able to find me leaving the first time with my expensive guitar pedals in hand, narrowing down my search to the restaurant I went to.

The food was horrible. After we finished eating the waiter became very rude and rushed us to leave. I didn't catch his name but he had a French accent. Don't bother with this place.
