I come here often for post-work drinks, this time I tried out the restaurant and even though it was full the lovely staff member Alex (who seemed to be working solo) was very accommodating and provided excellent service!

It is an old pub and the restaurant was upstairs above a very busy bar. This is a Nicholsons pub so the menu is the same as all their venues which is adequate and filling. The waitress was outstanding and was excellent considering she was on her own and dealing with about six occupied tables. Only criticism was our table was very small so the wine bucket went on the floor. Food was good and hearty and sensibly priced for central London. This pub is a two minute walk to the London Palladium.

Excellent Classic pub with nice Beers and Pub food. We had Steak & Ale Pie and a selection of Little Finger Food things. All very Taste. Pain 50 GBP for two Mains, two Pints of Beer and a Diet Coke.

The guy playing music was exceptionally good. Great night enjoying the music along with a few nice drinks.

Very nice atmosphere and a great looking building both from the outside and inside. But the service was very bad, and the food not much better. Wanted to order a burger and was asked if I had any food allergies - that part was very considerate. I told them that I am allergic to peanuts but that I didn’t think it was relevant for the burger. The attitude of the staff changed from that moment. They made me sign a waiver that they weren’t responsible for any allergen contaminations and told me that the salsa that came with the burger had peanuts in it. Which of course surprised me a bit, who in their right mind puts peanuts in a salsa in a restaurant, and doesn’t state it on the menu? Anyway I asked if I could just get ketchup instead of salsa with the burger, if it was only a side, but the staff simply refused to serve me, and I had to approach another staff member. Then I had to tell the same story again and was also met with an annoyed attitude. She did however allow me to order the burger and with ketchup instead, but when it arrived, no ketchup was there. The burger was mediocre at best, I had expected a lot better. Furthermore the tables were not clean when we got here, all greasy, and they didn’t offer any napkins. I was also not able to get a receipt from my payment. Never before have I experienced that restaurant staff were rude and almost scared to serve me because of my allergies. Never before have I signed a waiver. Not coming back here

Hi came here for a quick lunch on my way to work, I had a fish and chips and it was on of the best I ever had. Definetly will come back to try more dishes.

Stopped here because our Airbnb was close by. Had a lovely experience the first night, so we came back 2 more times during our trip. Clean and nice, good atmosphere. We ordered the chicken bites starter. Sauce was tangy and delicious. Great beers, Harvey's bitter was great. 5/5 well deserved

Think I found the new pub before theatre shows at The Palladium. Went there with a couple of friends and we had a great time. Had the beef brisket burger and damn! Very good stuff, super tasty, very juicy, great quality! We sat upstairs and it was a very quiet evening. Looked after the man Marahesh, who was a delight, very kind, polite, and always smiling. Will definitely come again. 🫡

English pub, in the heart of Soho, decorated with dark wood inside. We had all the typical dishes for lunch and everything was very good, especially the meat pie and the fish & chips, also the salmon and a red fruit treat. We were served by a very kind and friendly young girl, who made our time in the place easier and more comfortable. The price was moderate. Good place.

If you’re looking for a pub that embraces inclusivity and common sense, this isn’t it. If you’re looking for a stage for a manager to showcase their terrible attitude and make up laws on the fly, well, congratulations, you’ve found your spot. I wouldn't trust this place to serve a cold pint of water, let alone uphold any sort of legal or moral standard. I’ve been living in London for over five years, and I’ve never encountered such a blatantly racist and laughable "policy" in my life. Apparently, at this pub, only certain IDs are "acceptable," but not those from other countries. Why, you ask? Well, according to the charming and very professional manager (who looks like the hunchback of notre dame), it’s “the law.” Let’s be clear: as a lawyer, this is not the law. It was just a racist policy of a pub that clearly doesn’t know how to handle diversity. To further fuel the absurdity, the manager whipped out a DIY, laminated sheet of paper (which looked like it was crafted by a 5-year-old) claiming what IDs were acceptable. MADE. UP. RULES. At no point did this magically appear as a legal mandate, and yet here she was convinced that somehow everyone else in Soho, let alone London, was doing it wrong. She also claimed it was only American IDs that they can’t accept, but then starting stuttering and making new laws up when she saw we had Hong Kong IDs. Let’s be clear: this isn’t a policy; it’s racism with a side of delusion. It’s deeply laughable to think that a pub can just randomly decide what’s legal based on some homemade signs. What's next? Bouncers with a Tarot card deck deciding who can enter? For reference, we were served just a week ago with the same IDs in this very establishment, without issue. But when confronted with that little bit of inconvenient truth, she proceeded to argue and say “she wasn’t there last week”. So, what? You’re the creator of law? She also refused to give us her name when asked. I’m writing from the pub next door that, shocker! had no trouble accepting our valid, legal identification documents. Guess they must be “breaking the law” according to you? Maybe you can loan them your laminated sheet to make things more clear!

The tastiest fish and chips & sausages I have ever had in London. Old cask ales are superb and I enjoyed the vibes here so much! Highly recommended!

Great coffee , nice crowd and very frisky staff

Overpriced most of the staff were friendly however we witnessed some customers being treated rudely.

If I could give zero stars I would. The service was horrible. They would not accept any form of id except passport. The waitstaff was rude and unreasonable. They pick and chose who they would wait on. I will never come back to this pub, and I will tell everyone I know to avoid this pub. Americans are not welcome.

Me with my friends visited clachan for lunch.It was a very good experience for me.Bar staffs are so friendly. Mahesh served my drinks and he is so fast and kind to customers.Food got delivered by Anand and he is too nice to us.Checked proper allergens as well.Altogether it was a great experience and hopefully I will visit clachan soon again.

Great hidden gem of Carnaby Street or great stop behind Liberty shop. Very vibrant place, full of love all day long. Selection of beers is jaw dropping

What can I say about the clachan. Well, Ill tell you what If you like beer they got it, if you like gin, they got that to and if you like wine, man they have the red one and the white and a rose colour also (crazy). Service is top of the notch as always and every time I order they bring me the thing I order and then I pay, fabulous service. They don't judge me when I come out of liberty with all my shopping and want to sit in the corner with my spiced rum and lime cordial drink. Atmosphere is nice.

If I could give zero stars I would. They don’t serve Americans and reject any American ID. They were so rude despite getting a drink here last week. At least be consistent. Americans stay away. Remember 1776.

It was super straightforward to arrange my celebration evening inside this beautiful period English pub, everything was easily kept track of through emails and answered promptly. The staff were attentive and the setting was perfect for the event!

Quite a busy "Tourist" pub close by Oxford Circus. It's part of a chain so same food and selections as other pubs. Their online order service (QR code) was very slow. We were lucky to get a table and grabbed some burgers and beer. Burgers a bit on the dry side.

We were a party of five who booked a table to have lunch before going to the theatre. Cosy pub with dining area upstairs. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. We were served by Vittoria who was professional , helpful, friendly and so efficient. There is a wide choice of food to suit different budgets. We opted for grilled sea bass with mussels and prawns, and steak and ale pie - both delicious. We had lemon tart for pudding and they even served a portion of ice cream with caramel sauce ( which wasn’t on the menu). Overall we really enjoyed our lunch experience. One tiny point- it’s an old building and the stairs were rather steep (we were a party of very senior ladies and we managed).

I came here on a lively Thursday night with a few friends. The atmosphere was great! I had a few pints and the spinach and falafel burger which was a delicious veggie option. The service was great even on a busy night and the staff were really friendly & helpful. Will definitely visit again when passing through central London.

The Clachan is top notch, I took my parents there who are visiting me from overseas. The atmosphere was inviting, and a good escape from the crowded streets. The service was impeccable. The food was great. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, from the steak pie to chicken schnitzel. The portions were generous.The pub itself has a lovely ambiance, and the booths at the back of the pub are definitely the best seats in the house. The Guinness was creamy too and could tell it had been stored well. I would highly recommend coming here, if you're looking for a pub around Carnaby/Soho.

We were there as a group of five before Christmas and Don and Akhil made us feel very welcome indeed. Food was good and well-priced. Enjoyable visit all round!

Really poor quality food served on 4 Jan 25 where we had dinner for 5. Steak and ale pie had 4 small pieces of meat, with a rock hard crust and the soggiest carrots ever. Fish and chips came without the scampi and with the coldest chips, and the burger was average at best. Really disappointing experience.

As italian, it's one of the best fish and chips I've ever eaten!

I was not very impressed with the sea bass, prawn , and new potatoes dish. The prawns were like chewing on bullets. This was supposed to have been cooked in a lobster sauce. There were far too many potatoes and not enough vegetables (1 piece of stem broccoli, that was it). This dish proved to be rather under whelming for myself and one other.

Bar staff is rude, ignorant and all amateurs has no respect ...expert in ignoring customers with an horrible attitude, polish accent barmen servet after calling him, despite he had my pint on his hand show me the door... How dare you !! As a regular , neither me nor mates, never will come and take the staff chip on shoulder...byee

Very popular pub, so often crowded with lack of seating. Staff very slow, drinks choice poor and staff have little knowledge of their stock.

We were looking around the area for a place to eat and came across this pub. Food was good, service was perfect! A fantastic old school pub with a great selection of cask ales including Old Peculiar

Bar staff downstairs look fed up but that's to be expected in a London pub on minimum wage. Staff up in the restaurant were much more friendly and chatty. Food was great too. Always come here for Christmas drinks with old work friends and we'll keep coming. Great location and size.

Great traditional pub just off the main streets. Service is swift and efficient even on a busy lunch. Extensive selection of beers and wines to suit all tastes backed up with good pub food menu.

Latimer Room spacious for our group, nicely laid out, spotless & own bar. Pre ordering everybody's 3 course choices for lunch in advance was efficient. The menu had a wide & varied selection in all 3 courses and the food was served punctually at our pre arranged time, it arrived all freshly prepared & very presentable on the plates with the main courses nice & hot. The staff provided a magnificent service always happy, friendly & looked after us with all our drink & food requirements. Considering the excellent location in central London the food & drink pricing was good value for money

Il servizio molto gentile e il cibo buonissimo,anche da bere tutto perfetto : due birre molto particolari dal gusto intenso e la coco cola anche quella molto buona Io e la mia famiglia abbiamo mangiato : fish and chips molto croccante e per nulla unto,burger a doppio piano molto alto e saporito e infine un nachos molto pieno di salse e abbondante. Il locale molto carino e accogliente e natalizio.

We hosted another Christmas lunch on the first floor. Great food, venue, atmosphere and service. We'll be back again next year.

Very nice British pub located on Kingly Street. Fascinating Art Nouveau atmosphere, beautiful environment, well-kept and, currently, Christmas themed! We didn't have dinner, as we simply stopped by for a beer, which was personally excellent! Prices in line with the standard. I would recommend, regarding service, to smile a little more with customers..

Classic and very busy pub just off Regent St. Had a Tribute; a Cornish Pale Ale. I believe I've had it before. Very nice, at any rate.

A nice pub by the carnaby street to enjoy a quality time while having a nice collections of beers and ales.

This establishment needs to get a new manager as she is useless at managing reserve tables, I have added a prime example, as she used pathetic a A4 plastic envelope that had been moved well before my attendance at the table. She got really cross, put I still finished my pint with my wife, I spoke to the lady’s and gents whom reserve the table and asked us to join them, But we were sorry as had prior engagements to attend, but we wished them a lovely evening before we left and they were fantastic. The Manager needs to have more customer skills as she is dreadfully lacking them!
