Great food &drinks &lovely atmosphere, the staff made you feel very welcome ,we will definitely be returning as we had a great dining experience thankyou 😀

Booked a table for 2 for my mum to celebrate her 86th birthday. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious and well presented. My mother’s comment was the chips were piping hot but “even the plates were warm”. That is a huge tick in her eyes. Thank you got singing Happy Birthday to her Matt, even if the candle was in my desert. One bone of contention is although the bread and butter pudding was delicious it would be perfect if offered with custard.

Not great for kids anymore. Avoid if you have small kids, used to be great. Didn't want kids running around even though we were back of the restaurant in the garden, got told off for climbing the tree even though no sign.

The menu on first glance is simple and it has on it the traditional pub choices you would expect - but the quality was exceptional. Highly recommend. Perfectly placed for a walk into the beautiful village or around the dam.

Food was amazing the chicken burger was delicious and all of the food we ate was so fresh . The staff were polite and really friendly will Defo be trying the Sunday roast .

First time visit, wanted somewhere near Warrington but with a nice location and this came up on my google search - glad it did! Had a superb lunch, the food was excellent, my Fish and Chips was superb and the Garlic & Rosemary Chicken with Caponata was excellent according to Mum. Needless to say much wine and desserts were enjoyed by all. The owner Will and his team looked after us SO well, we will definitely recommend to friends and visit again ourselves. Five star service.

We visited the Church Green for a mid week lunch and it was fantastic. We chose the 2 course lunch offer which is an amazing deal. The food was delicious and the staff couldn't do enough for us. We'll be back. Highly recommend.

Lovely food let down by poor service. We waited a good 20 minutes before a member of staff actually noticed us sat at the table waiting to be asked if we’d like a drink. As well as being very slow and seeming to have a blasé attitude, the very young staff (seemed like college students) didn’t seem to know the menu or what many of the main courses were served with when we asked. Additionally, the young lady didn’t seem to have had sufficient customer service/hospitality training- I am not sure if she had just started. It was the first time we had visited since the new ownership took it on. My advice would be to sort out the customer service as despite the food being fab it let our visit down.

Excellent birthday celebration with friends yesterday. Delicious canapés. Our starters were scotch eggs or a mushroom parfait and our mains were duck or sea bream, all were exquisite. We were waited on by manager Martin who was superb. Will definitely be back.

Dropped in for lunch and we’re given great service throughout our visit by the bar and waiting staff. The food was perfect and good value for money, we will certainly be back

Took my friend for dinner to celebrate her birthday, we had a wonderful evening, food was excellent and the service was outstanding, would absolutely recommend.

This was the first time I've been to The Church Green. Why did I wait so long. My sister and I visited on a Wednesday lunchtime to celebrate our birthdays. The host was warm and welcoming. The service was relaxed and friendly. There was a great choice on the main menu. Whilst we didn't opt for the set price lunch menu it would have been very good value for money. The food was delicious. I'm sure I'll be back soon with my husband.

Nearly half a century ago I used to drink in this pub as a 17 year old. It’s changed a lot since then and is mostly a food destination, so to break a 350 mile drive we stopped for lunch. The carrot and ginger soup was excellent. Really smooth and a perfect ‘thickness’. The cassoulet to follow hit the spot even if it wasn’t quite the classic French construction. I ate the lot (apart from the duck leg bone though a picked it clean). My wife’s cauliflower croquettes were really great and better than any I can recall eating in Spain. I’d like to come back and try the evening menu. I suspect there are quite a few delights waiting to be eaten.

Lovely pub. Very reasonable prices for the choice and quality. Attentive staff. Plentiful and various seating options, depending on your group size and whether you’re eating or just having a quick drink.

What a refreshing change to so many other 'Gastro Pub's' as the Church Green is a relaxed, friendly place for lunch serving fabulous food. We all opted for the fish 'n' chips which was well above average for such a popular dish. All at a very reasonable price for such great food. Thank you to all the team there, we'll be back again soon.

We dined there last night had a most wonderful evening, food was top notch the Wing Rib and the Chateaubriand was so tender - but what made the night was the wonderful service oh and nearly forgot the absolutely scrumptiously delicious Lemon Meringue & Raspberry sorbet - it was heaven on a plate!!! Although quite a large establishment with an indoor/ outdoor covered dining area, the parking at the front is sadly lacking in space. The lunchtime menu is priced at what would normally be fine dining/ late evening level. I was rather surprised that other diners there were happy to be served their meals outside, as I was directed there myself. This is not a place for vegetarian quisine, as all meals except one were meat based. I am no vegan, but a number of vegetarian options are always most welcome and really ought to be at least one quarter ,to one third of a menu, for choice. Anyone visiting should realise that this is really only a large pub with pretensions of being high class, but is not a top London restaurant. I have been to much humbler venues, and been well satified. I believe the chef had earned one Michelin star, which is given for being 'a very good restaurant in its class'. Be that as it may, I must say personally I would not make a return visit.

Lovely food we will be back, I have only one negative comment on our visit yesterday, we where sat right next to the door into the outside area people and waiters etc where in and out the draught was really off putting, two families who sat over from us got moved into the restaurant because they complained about the cold, next time I book I hope to be sat in the restaurant.

Treated the family to Breakfast. Couldn’t believe how big the full English was, it was delicious and set me up for the day. Smashed avocado and bacon was divine. Bacon & egg on ciabatta, lovely crispy bacon to our liking. Their Mocha is the way forward. Highly recommended great food and value for money.

We have been many times to Church Green and always find the staff helpful, friendly and professional. We were there for brunch with our son, it was his first visit. The food was tasty, hot and very enjoyable. Thank you Sarah and team!

Hadn’t eaten at the Church Green for at least a year and no surprises - the food and service were still of the highest standard. Food delicious, service was friendly, fun and discrete. Loved it.

Another really enjoyable evening sampling Aidan’s November Gourmet menu. Food absolutely delicious as always and it’s a great way to sample unusual dishes. As always Aiden and Sarah supported by a wonderful team who seem just as keen for us to enjoy the evening as much as they do. There’s a great vibe to this restaurant and they do definitely deserve all the excellent reviews that they get. Now on the waiting list for December’s Gourmet dinner which shows how popular these events are. Hope to be back very soon.

Had a 50th wedding anniversary dinner here for 40 family and friends. The whole experience was excellent made all the better by the staff at the Church Green. Right from the early planning meetings and through to the night of the event, everyone was helpful and accommodating with lots of valuable input as to how to make the evening special. The event itself was a 100% super with a great atmosphere and fantastic food. We had lots of positive comments from our guests that they enjoyed the food, the service and helpfulness of the staff and the ambience in the room. We had various entertainment booked for the night and again the management at the Church Green were very helpful in assisting the entertainers get set up. Special thanks to Martin, Sam and the kitchen staff for everything they did to make the evening extra special. Overall a great night was had by all and I would certainly recommend the Church Green for this kind of event.

I really have to say the food was good , but the staff were very poor no attention would you like desert any sauces nothing was asked , It had a cafe feel ,but restaurant prices sorry but its how we all felt

Excellent food and service. Menu choice for brunch was great offering up a great veggie breakfast and traditional full English. Black pudding, sausages and smoked bacon all very good and superbly cooked. Yet another great visit. Will be sampling the gourmet night again in December too.

This was our second visit to The Church Green and we were very impressed on both occasions. The restaurant was full and the staff were working flat out but made a huge effort to be friendly, informative and helpful. The food was absolutely top notch, as expected. We can’t wait to go back but in the meantime, we have some little treats from The Deli (all made on the premises) to indulge in. We recommend it very highly.

We chose The Church Green because of the fame of Chef Aiden Byrne and we were not disappointed. The food was of the highest standard and thoroughly delicious. So much so we went into the deli and bought some more of their produce and products made at Church Green. Staff were professional and attentive in a friendly way which we appreciated. The menu was extensive with plenty of choice. We will certainly return and couldn't recommend a visit more highly.

We were greeted warmly, with our table already prepped for our arrival. Originally booked for the daytime menu, but ended up a la carte. Food was beautifully presented, much of which looked to have been locally sourced. We are hoping that this is going to be one of many more visits in the future!

What can I say?. It was lovely from start to finish. Staff were realy polite, and made you feel comfortable. I had the half English breakfast, enough for me, I'm not a massive eater. But I would rather pay extra, for good quality ingredients. I wasn't dissapointed. The brew (T) was perfect, love a strong decent brew me, quirky cups also, lids on to keep the brew hot. The plates were hot, really nice napkins, cuttlery nice and clean. My wife had the Benedicts egg, with cured ham and sauce. Best she had ever had. Over all, we really had a lovely experience, and would highly reccomend. Will re visit. We spent about £22, but it was worth it.

The church green is a very food place to have dinner. It has good service and the food tastes very nice.

I recently hosted my birthday party at the Church Green. I had plenty of guests and we had a wonderful time. I have to say the pizzas and chips were 2nd to none. The service was amazing. Knowledge, professional, friendly staff . Wonderful experience had by all.
