I was really surprised by this place, it was brilliant. Often let down by so-called "authentic" Chinese restaurants, this place is the best Chinese food I have ever eaten. It has a unique menu that appears complicated at first, but once explained, it all falls into place, and the food you are served with is delicious. Well worth a visit, and I will definitely be going back.

Very generous portions and LOVE to see clearly signposted vegan options (ordered on deliveroo). Will be a repeat customer.

A cosy place, lovely staff. The prices were higher than the average, but the portions were large. Daughter and I ordered lettuce wraps but one would have been more than enough for the both of us! We had a lovely time.

Ordered a takeaway and it was ready for collection on time with no issues. Deep fried mushroom was an excellent starter and the food was generally very good. The mixed vegetable fried rice (£8.90) was quite disappointing in comparison to my local (£6.20), although in saying that, all my visitors want to get food from my local Chinese takeaway. Would use again whilst in the area.

Ordered for the 1st time ,couldnt fault it,service was great,came within the hour,very tasty and fresh,will pop in next time instead of takeout,its nice to know a good chinese is closer to home as usualy go to kans😊

The first time I visited this restaurant it was excellent 5/5 for food, service and atmosphere. However the meal tonight was not great. Service was incredibly slow, and bit awkward. Favourite expression “I’ll be back shortly” Coke was flat, complained, got another glass of flat coke. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Thai fish cakes contained no fish (as far as I could tell this was rubbery, like tofu) Stir fried vegetables were almost completely tasteless. Asked for feedback but didn’t listen to the answer. I’m going to score this as a 3, to be generous as I don’t want to give the staff a hard time, but I don’t think I’d go back anytime soon.

Rang the order through at 16.30….. now 20.05 and still not arrived because ‘it is Chinese new year’ Get a grip, it happens every year, plan accordingly and limit orders if required……

Excellent service, food was somewhat mediocre and portion sizes were on the smaller side but tasty.

First time of ordering take-out from here. The portions were huge (lots leftover) and very tasty. Many Chinese dishes we find are overpowered with salt but this wasn’t and everything was cooked perfectly. Will definitely go back again.

Absolutely lovely welcome, staff all friendly and very attentive. Food delicious, took a while to decide what to have off the extensive menu. We all had different starters and mains. Every one was beautiful.

Went here for an evening meal. Menu confusing. Didn’t receive complementary prawn crackers, everyone on other tables did. Felt like we were forgotten about. We’d ordered food and the chips we ordered with the food didn’t come with the rest of our order. We had to ask where they were. We were told orders were backed up. Again I think they’d forgotten about them as the chips would have been with the rest of our food. They eventually arrived 10 minutes later. Very disappointing.

Had some takeaways and dining from the restaurant, this is the only one Chinese in the area that would serve proper Chinese cuisine. The food quality and service always great, but you have be patient when they are busy. High recommend to anyone like proper Chinese taste

Wanted a Chinese takeaway for a group of 12 to celebrate my mum's birthday. 2 of our group are MSG intolerant but we all dip in rather than having our own dishes. The Chef could not have been more helpful and the food was ready when they said it would be. More pricey than your usual takeaway but food was really lovely - will definitely be back,.

Fab food but formica tables and bright lights has a 'works canteen' atmosphere. A tablecloth and a candle would have been nice. Staff very nice.

By far my favourite local Asian restaurant! Nowhere compares. Never disappointed with the food and customer service, we go to sit it the restaurant for family occasions and also love to have the food delivered, my favourite dish is the green thia curry the sauce is just delicious and full of flavour a rich creamy sauce with no suprise added ingredients!! This is that Chinese food restaurant that ruins all others for you. Everywhere else will seem bland, over-salted or lacking in choice - Chinese Garden knocks it out of the park on all counts. I recommend treating yourself to their salt and pepper mushrooms or the amazingly light and crisp spring rolls. Veggies and vegans can enjoy a huge selection of options here - just waiting for them to start offering mock duck and it will be perfect! The staff are so friendly and cheerful - I maybe order delivery once every couple of months and they still all know my name and ask me how I am. It's that little touch of community that makes this place extra special.

Outstanding Chinese restaurant, established around 40 years, that offers a wide range of excellent food in generous portions at affordable prices. A large seating area makes this ideal for parties and get-togethers but also offers privacy for those who need it. Allow £25 per head for a starter and main course, excluding drinks.

Great for a dine in meal, awful for take away! We eat here quite often and the restaurant service is good and the food is always lovely. Unfortunately, they are clearly not set up for takeaway service. We’ve tried a takeaway a few times and every time have had the same issue: The food takes hours!! Last night we ordered at 7.15, were told to collect at 8.30 (which is already a very long wait) - the food wasn’t ready until 9.05, so we had to stand outside the restaurant for 35 minutes. The food was ready nearly 2 hours after we ordered. The restaurant are never apologetic (and actually tried to argue that we hadn’t placed the order until 8.15 - then realised they were wrong) and just keep saying “10 more minutes” every time you ask. Food was nice but we’d lost our appetite by 9.30.

We came recently as a spur of the moment decision having heard good things. The place was quiet but it was a weekday night so it’s understandable. The young waiter was polite and the lady who I believe was the manager was lovely, very obliging and welcoming. We started with chicken and sweetcorn soup which was okay but massively under-seasoned. The dim sum were very nice, really soft and flavoursome. However, the mains were a bit of a let down. In the sweet and sour chicken, the ingredients seemed very fresh but the sauce lacked impact and sweetness, it didn’t quite hit the spot in a way a great sweet and sour does. The crispy beef was too crispy and was more like husks, there was no lovely chewy beef once you got through the crispness. The sauce was nice though and the rice fine. It wasn’t inexpensive but was reasonably priced and if we were to go back we’d give the early bird menu or the banquets a try, but I’m not entirely sure we’ll be back. It was okay but not far away, the Arch in Newcastle and Chopstix in Nantwich both do far nicer food.

We called last night for a takeaway Ordered 2 starters ribs rolls 3 mains & s curry sauce Came to over £50 — never aid that for a takeaway before I don’t mind but The Ribs were terrible — small — all bone & fat very small amount of meat Explanation — ladies complained that the ribs before were too big This is their way of cutting the portion size Fillet of lamb — nearly all was onion 6-8 thin slices and was over £11 Last time I call now — used to be excellent Sorry you are making wrong calls — standards need to improve

I was meeting a friend at this restaurant that I’ve previously visited for dinner. It was actually empty at 6.55pm. We were shown to our table and offered drinks. We weren’t offered the cheap menu than finished at 7pm. So we ordered a starter plater to share and Crispy Aromatic Duck to follow. Upon receiving the platter the only thing hot was the prawn sesame seed toast. I like all meat to arrive at the table hot. The Salt and Pepper ribs I thought was chicken again cold. So I was looking forward to the Duck but again shredded and arrived cold. We didn’t touch it and Upon complaining the Duck was removed from the bill. But it was my Birthday Celebration and expected a better experience.

Since my last visit of 5 years ago, the customer service has changed and everybody was happy and helpful. Unfortunately the food is still over seasoned: - I had a Beef with garlic and chilli, where the beef was tasteless, as the garlic and chilli was so over powering. My friend had stir fry vegetables, but they were limp and tasteless. As per my last visit, I'll not be racing back.

First time at The Chinese Garden Alsager. I have lived in Alsager all my life. Me and my friend and family went this evening as I thought I would love to go there. It was absolutely lovely, the service was attention to detail, the staff were lovely and I have to say the food - meal was delicious. Thankyou to all the staff and 'Chef's .

Recently had a takeaway from here and WOW 🤩 what a place! Absolutely amazing food, probably the best Chinese food I’ve tasted, would recommend to anyone in the area and will certainly be returning!

We visited with friends on Friday 25th March. We have been many times before and had great food and service if somewhat pricey. On this occasion we all ordered Soup which took 40minutes to arrive. It was fine. It took another 45 minutes foe the main course to arrive and prior to that we sere advised that the £12 plus dish of Yang Chow rice would only be a small portion. At the price I discussed this with the waiter. Our food was not up to standard. The chilli crispy beef was well overcooked and tasted totally different than normal, the beef with black bean sauce was tough and tasteless, the other two dishes were fine but small portions. We complained but as the owner approached us she was distracted by another customer and was talking to them for over 10minutes. We decided to settle the Bill and as we got up to leave the owner came to us, made a poor apology about the food served, said nothing about the poor service and mentioned she would do something for us next time. Sorry there will be no next time. Can understand the prices rising but not at the expense of the size of the portions

Had a lovely meal here on Saturday evening, staff very attentive and polite , food absolutely delicious, there was unfortunately a very rude customer who became quite offensive - the staff kept their calm and dealt with it impeccably well - will definitely be back.

Highly recommended so I am trying for the first time but have now been waiting more than an hour and no sign of my order and when it is going to get delivered....how can I rate the service any higher

Very light and clean restaurant with an amazing choice on the menu. Waiter was very helpful in describing the dishes and sauces. I had duck spring rolls which had a huge amount of meat. This was followed by crispy beef in sweet chilli sauce which was absolutely delicious. My husband had chicken and mushroom soup followed by mixed meat teryaki, both of which were delicious. Despite being fairly busy, the service was quick and friendly. Excellent value.

So slow I’d order the day before If you order the phone they keep you waiting hope you’re going to drink some beer and spend extra money Don’t think they start cooking your food until you get there

Had a family meal last night. My son who is very picky. Said it was the best food ever and tried everything. Great service and lovely people that run it. Fresh hot tasty food. Never had a bad meal from there and we have been going for years when in Alsager. Just wanted to review to say thanks for a lovely evening.

Me and my partner fancied a change and decided to go to a Chinese restaurant, we picked this one, the food was great plenty to choose from the menu, service exellent really enjoyed our meals.

Food excellent loads of flavor and everything hot. I had a favorite Chinese that we go but this has taken 1st place now. Would recommend you give it a try. Service was excellent. Good prices aswell. Can't wait to return loved it.

The best Chinese i’ve ever had without a doubt. We had the large banquet for two and two drinks each and found the final bill completely acceptable. We couldn’t finish the meal however the wonderful staff packed it up for us to enjoy tomorrow!The customer service was only surpass by the outstanding food!Our duck was shredded at the table which was a little touch but showed that we were getting an absolutely authentic meal and not one of these “ding” dinners!The hoi sin sauce was delicately flavoured and complimented the duck beautifully without compromising on the divine tender texture of the meat which melted in the mouth!Great portion sizes, and not greasy in the slightest. Nor could we taste loads of MSG! Which is so common in Chinese food! The main course was just as delightful, the best king prawns i’ve tasted, and you can heat the sizzling beef from the kitchen!!!I honestly will not hesitate to return.The restaurant was really comfortable and the drinks reasonably priced too.I’ve eaten in worse places in London that have charged twice the price we spent!I genuinely urge you if you’re in Alsager Go here!It is a truly fantastic place.

We phoned in advance and were told dinner would be ready at 7:30 and had to wait 20 minutes before our meal finally arrived. The people that ordered to eat in at the restaurant we’re served first even though they had come nearly 15 after us. By the time we got our meal we were starving but the food was cold and the peaking ribs were absolutely awful it tasted like they had cooked it is oil and 50 grams of flower. I am really disappointed in this meal and I strongly don’t recommend this place to go to if you want a quick and delicious take away meal!!!

Lovely Chinese which we have used as a restaurant and as a take-away. We always collect because wait times on delivery are too long. Whilst the food is really good, we do find it to be very expensive. Very friendly staff

We often go to this place for both sit in and takeaway and I have never really bothered leaving a review but think I should do now. We always have lovely and flavourful food, and they cater to my nut allergy. The owner Shelley is always smiling and proud of the food they serve. It is always a treat to eat from here, I recommend it to anyone.

Ordered a take away to be delivered, cost totalled £39.80.Take away arrived within the time given, but was swimming in grease, we ordered a duck with mixed veg and cashew nut, dry spare ribs, chicken chowmein and prawn toast, with a side of yeung chow rice.All dishes were swimming in oil, with the duck being over fried, resulting in hard inedible pieces. As to mixed veg, there was evidence only of minimal veg present. Shortly after eating some i threw it up, also having the trots afterwards. The prawn toast was overcooked in old oil, tasting bitter and again inedible.When i called the restaurant to inform them of this, i was told that the majority of customers left good feedback and there was nothing they could do as the manager was not in. I offered them to come to collect the food, as we had not eaten much , but was told simply to throw it away. I have had good meals from here before, but sadly this was lacking in every aspect, with extremely poor customer service when something was evidently wrong. No offer to replace or refund and no real apology, simply made to feel it was my issue as other people left positive comments. I have been ill now for the past 24 hours almost following this meal and can whole heartedly say that this was one of the worst chinese meals i have eaten.If you have good food, then great, but be warned that if your food falls short of expected quality there is no point in letting them know, as they do not care and will simply quote you as being an unusual reaction to the norm. Horendous customer service...will not use again. When so many businesses are struggling, they seem awfully comfortable in not caring about keeping customers happy.

I ordered from this place just before 5pm this evening. It is now 8pm and we have had no food delivered and they are not answering the phone or their live chat on just eat. We have yet to eat and this is not the experience we wanted on New Year’s Eve. Disappointed is an understatement. We also have no way to get a refund as just eat customer service also won’t answer the phone. I would strongly recommend ordering elsewhere as this establishment is 0 starts all round.

Best Chinese I had from around Alsager we will be going again

Take away service Awful! We aimed for dinner for 7:30, so ordered with 2hrs notice about 5:30. Our dinner didn't arrive on time. Called to complain told it was on the way. By 8:30 called again and to chase as it was now 1hr late. These folks must accept all orders without any consideration of their ability to fulfil orders. Lots of other alternatives in Alsager who deserve your business more. I won't be calling them again.

We have been using the Chinese Garden for 6 years now. However, the last 3 times have been a huge disappointment. On Christmas Eve, we called before 6 pm to order a home delivery and was told it would be 7.30. That was fine, I mentioned the last 2 times we had ordered food, it was over a hour last, on one occasion we had given them a hour and 45 minutes to sort our order out, more than enough time I think. I was assured our food would arrive on time. At 8 I called and was told the order was been processed and delivery would be about 9. We had friends round, so I decided to go and collect our food, after another 30 minutes I finally go my order. I had an empty apology for the inconvenience and my complaint was disregarded. I appreciate it was a busy time, but 3 hours to get a takeaway is ridiculous and if you can’t for fill your orders then you need to stop taking them and messing your loyal customers around. I will be very reluctant to order food in the future !!!!!

Ordered take-away at 6pm, promised at 7.15 pm. Actually ready at 8.45pm - 90 minutes late to promise. The place was clearly overwhelmed, OK things can go wrong, but what was most annoying was that no-one took charge and explained what was happening. When asked, by various customers at various times, when their meal would be ready, they were told "10 minutes". They had clearly taken on more orders than they could possibly process in the times promised. They were trying to satisfy tables, deliveries and collections.When we finally got the food, it wasn't very good. Won't be going back

Just come back from my birthday meal here at the Chinese garden with my girlfriend , delicious food as always and wonderful friendly staff. They went through a lot of effort to make it a great meal and it was fantastic. We have eaten here a few times before and we will definitely be back.

Awful, don't do it, 30mins for a drink@, 2hrs for 2 courses. The sliced duck with plum sauce was terrible. All they said was "we're doing our best" unfortunately for us there best fell well short. We had a truly awful experience, please do not subject yourself to it.

We booked here last minute on a Monday, neither of us had ever been before. It was packed due to the eat out scheme, however the service was perfect and the food was fantastic! Looking forward to returning. A special thanks to the young man who took our order, he was great.

I can’t fault the food I had delivered promptly, and last minute before the kitchen was about to close last night. Nothing was too much for this place to make sure they delivered our food just before closing time. Food was delicious, steaming hot, and the food cartons were full to the brim. They didn’t skimp with any of the ingredients. The best I’ve tasted so far. Delicious. Friendly gentleman on the other side of the phone. Delivered by a gentleman wearing a protective face mask, who rang the door bell, and left the food by the front door. Made sure he heard me shout thankyou, to ensure I got the food in, from a safe distance, before he proceeded to his car. Many many thanks and very much appreciated. There’s enough food for today too. So my son and I have had a couple of meals each out of this takeaway. We had a chicken in black bean sauce, and a crispy chicken in sweet chilli sauce, and egg fried rice. I would highly recommend this food restaurant. Prompt, friendly, and don’t skimp on the ingredients.beautiful. What more can I say, but thankyou again from my son and I.

Food was lovely, cocktails 241 mid week...bonus....service was a little slow...but I think it was as the owner, bless him was cooking, srving and front of house. Am sure different at weekens..very enjoyable

Ordered 4 meals to take away by phone. Asked for the special meal for one at £7 but apparently you have to order for minimum of two! £14, which turned out to be a small cardboard carton of chicken etc, small pot of seaweed, and 2 tiny pots of satay sauce and sweet and sour. The curry sauce I ordered was also a tiny pot and was not very nice at all. The noodles were very dry too. Chicken spring rolls were awful, looked like dog meat, unappetizing to say the least! I portion egg fried rice, 2 x salt and pepper chips and a chicken satay meal. Total cost £43. To be honest everything tasted the same. First and last time for us

I went for a takeaway this evening - ordered inside (not phone) at 6.30 so not busy - and was told 30 minutes. No problem, a couple of pints in The Lodge (5*) and back for 7. They couldn't find my order at the desk but it evenyually appeared. Back home and the crispy duck was barely lukewarm and the hoisin sauce was definitely watered down. I had to dab the chicken curry with kitchen roll to remove the floating oil and it had a bit of heat but no flavour. The chicken fried rice was 'stodgy' and akin to boiled rice with chicken, peas and sweetcorn. I know taste is subjective but if this is their offering when quiet I will (and advise you to) give it a miss in future

Went to the Chinese garden for a birthday meal. The food and service was absolutely superb, beautifully cooked and presented food with very friendly staff.

I work in food retail and quality,presentation and taste is key. Rice was gloopy and meal was burnt!

Absolutely appalling experience here, if I could give 0 stars I would. We sat down at 6:40, we waited 20 minutes for our drink orders to be taken and finally got our starters an hour and a quarter after we ordered them. We were told the long wait was because of the “steam time” for the dumplings, which was obviously bs. The dumplings were undercooked and very chewy. We sat down a good while before a large table of about 6/8 people. We saw their main courses come out and were confused as we had been waiting 45 minutes for our mains, and we were told they were going to begin cooking them once the large table had had theirs, even though prior to this, we were told the orders were done in a list of priority. By my way of thinking, if one order is taken before another, that order is the priority. We ended up leaving and my mother ended up ill from the pork dumplings she was served. NEVER GO HERE IT IS AWFUL.

Egg Fried rice has no egg in it and its rubbery. Sent it back !!

Delicious food. We had chicken curry..... Good sized portion nice and spicy and plenty of sauce. The chicken sizzling plate was also nice but was quite dry... Not enough sauce
