Have to say, we enjoyed our visit. The food was great. The staff friendly. Clean toilets and nice atmosphere.

Great pub with a good mix of locals and students during term time. Haven't eaten here for a while but the food looked good from what I saw. Its my old local before I moved so has a lot of memories. It's a decent pub for the football with big screens in the bar area and a separate lounge which is a bit quieter and has more seating. Has a very good selection of local craft ale and the unusual tap beers. Good selection of spirits and decent wine. Well worth a look in, very friendly. You'll be chatting away if you sit at the bar in no time.

Food was okay and reasonably priced, my wife and I were served by a young man who clearly doesn’t like his job and was very rude. Other than him we have no complaints.

Huge pub very quiet during my visit. Excellent service by young enthusiastic staff.

Been there to watch the T20 semi-final. A decent place, staff even played commentary of cricket even though we were the only group to watch it.

Great pub always has been. Love the new pool tables.

My local bar Nice decor inside Drinks can be pricey and they could maybe have a greater selection of beer Otherwise highly recommend

Great pub, attended for a monthly comedy night upstairs. Drinks reasonably prices, clean, tidy and friendly staff and locals.

just a local pub really, surprisingly large, never tried their food. but a pint of fruity cider is £4.50

Excellent room for hire upstairs, good atmosphere in the pub, only negative they dont do Madri on tap upstairs. Only downstairs, but great pub.

1st time visiting this place and was a nice experience, staff very friendly, had a nice pint and would definitely visit this place again Has outside seating at the front, a beer garden at the back, bar, and the lounge is ideal for a meal

Decent boozer, decent prices, decent clientele. This place hasn't changed in 20 years but in a good way. The TVs are way better now, the barstaff are still friendly and the jukebox is still class.

Local pub which has everything you'd expect. Good beer (has some nice local options too from Wylam brewery too), pub food which is not bad and many TVs all around showing football games live.

Nice pub but beer quite expensive

Lovely pub with excellent prices. Food is decent, don’t have a picture but I have had the nachos and you couldn’t go wrong. Only problem I have had is that sometimes the pints are poured quite badly. Flat and tastes bitter. This has happened with Fosters a few times but never had a problem with other beers. Very nice and chill with good TV’s for the football.

Very nice pub! Occasionally had badly poured pints but the staff always corrected if an issue occurs! Food tasty too

One of my favourite pubs in Newcastle. Every time I go in there the place has a great feel to it. Happy customers, friendly staff, wide selection of beers and lagers, and a great atmosphere. What more can you ask for. Conveniently located next to a Metro station. Well worth a visit

A Great Local Bar situated at the Byker side of Chillingham Road but very much the heart of Heaton both staff and the locals are friendly enough. The community need places like this.

Had the bacon cheese burger and chips, very good no complaints would come for the food again. Good atmosphere too

Standard pub. Nought special, but clean and well presented. Reasonable food menu. Pool tables and a jukebox.

Pretty much exactly what you want from a pub, decent seating inside. Good selection of drink. Plenty of outside seating. We went during a Newcastle match and still managed to get seated outside. Order food and drink to your table via the app. No complaints

Decent looking pub, staff have always been canny and has function upstairs for stand up or bands etc. Pricey mind but most bars are now 😛

It's the first time I've been in years. I was very impressed, just popped in when passing with my friend and had a couple of gins. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was nice and I think I'll go there more regularly.

The Chilli Arms is a good main stay pub and we are lucky it's our local. There's always a good pint, service is very efficient and the short menu is fine for a bar meal fill up.

Very relaxing atmosphere and if you are out with the boys and want to watch the game with a chilled pint of Peroni this is the place 👌

First time visit. Great selection of ales. Good food at great prices- knocked spots off head of steam. Friendly welcoming staff. Well used pub- arrived on a quiz night with a large party, whoever we left prior to it starting. Will certainly return.

Nice and cozy pub with most popular drinks, food wise I would a big effort need to be made as the menu doesn't align with such a place... Veg & plant based options not really available either.

Been a long time I been there it was just before it got this newly furnished and I must say they done a brilliant job and it was full for a Wednesday night there was a quiz on and live football the pint was nice and the bar staff was polite and friendly the pub it self was nice and clean

Cavernous John Fitzgerald pub. Always seems to have an interesting selection of cask ales and can't recall having a duff pint here recently. Handy for the misleadingly named Chillingham Road Metro station. Way too many big screen TVs for my liking.

Nice pub friendly staff. Reasonably priced for drinks and food. Food was nice came pretty fast aswell no waiting for ages. Will definitely be going back with the other half again soon.

Why does it take so long to get drinks? It's just not good enough, so many other bars and pubs are dealing with covid and can handle the situation better. The amount of people walking out and empty tables is because the drinks coming out is so slow. Stop it. Get better. No excuses. Sort it out. The tables at the front are empty because of the terrible slow service and the excuses for it are just not good enough. Very dissapointed.

Turned up on spec and it was booked up. Still fitted us in in the beer garden without breaking lockdown rules and had a lovely pint of Jakehead.

Pretty decent local pub. Food is very reasonably priced and not bad (nachos good). Ok range of beers too. Staff have been at times a bit short during the last Covid year but that's understandable given the circumstances. Definitely will keep going here, just hope it goes more back to the old chillingham friendly welcome when lockdown eases more.
