Wife and I visiting the area and dropped in for a beer and a sandwich. Very welcoming and clean pub, food and drink fine. Would definitely use again if back in the area.

We agreed to meet up with a friend who’d moved away and his wife at the ‘Chi Arms’. It used to be a very plain, spit and sawdust pub when we were younger, 30 years younger but now it’s very smart, does live music, hopes to do meals, full bar, football, pool and a coffee machine type of pub. Quite pricy for what isn’t a town centre bar but we enjoyed a couple of hours there with an attentive barman ready to serve. Last orders was 10.15pm! Harking back to 30 years ago!

Fabulous Chai Latte, outstanding small plates with lots on offer. Wonderful setting and atmosphere. Cosy and inviting.

Table booked for 7.30pm. Pub very messy, no carvery left. Told a 45 minute wait for food. Cued at bar, staff member very friendly and helpful. I asked if they had any chicken dinners left, she said not sure, I'll check. She asked another staff member who listed things not available (chicken not among them). So I ordered 2 dinners and 2 drinks. 15 minutes later staff member came over to say no chicken dinners so had to re-order. Staff member not really bothered when I complained. Still waiting for food, not impressed! Won't come again!
