I just had a brilliant meal and the service was top-notch! Anthony was super helpful with gluten-free options, and Helen really made our experience special. The Spiced Lamb Style Panino was packed with flavour, and everything was presented beautifully. This place really knows how to deliver great food and service, all at a fantastic value. Can’t wait to come back for more!

I recently dined at this fantastic place and I couldn't be happier with my experience! The food was top-notch – I loved the Chopped Avocado & Eggs, perfect portion and those eggs were spot on. The service was what truly made the visit; the staff were so warm and attentive, checking in without being intrusive. Cleanliness and atmosphere also stood out, making it a great spot to relax. I can't wait to come back and try the full menu!

Myself and my fiancé came in on Saturday night. We were initially seated in front of the doors but asked to move due to the draught. Staff were happy to accommodate us and we moved to a different table. I think our servers name was Elouise, she was amazing. We shared bread and olives which was very nice, I had the sirloin which was cooked to perfection, my partner had the fish and chips and the fish serving was huge!! Both of our desserts were amazing as well, we had the cheesecake and the cookie dough. All in all a great meal out. Elouise made sure to check up on us and really made our anniversary special. Thank you all!!!

I went to Cherry Tree for lunch today (2025 Jan 11) because of its reputation. I ordered the Eggs Benedict (GBP12). Both eggs were over-cooked and the portion is the smallest I have ever had (as seen in the picture attached). A truly disappointing experience. Will not visit this place again.

It was really busy when we went, buzzing atmosphere, service was on point and the food excellent. My family enjoyed every aspect of the experience. This is a place we have wanted to go for a long time.

Well worth a visit, we are never disappointed with whatever we choose, there is such a varied menu available for large and small appetites. Visited last Saturday with a friend, great HOT chocolate, delicious well cooked bacon and super runny perfect poached egg. Despite the Cherry Tree being very busy we were happy to sit in the snug with our brunch which was quickly and attentively served.

Such a great place to meet for all sorts of occasions. Coffee, brunch, dinner all catered for. We have also had the most delicious pizzas for a takeout too. The staff an always friendly and welcoming and always happy to help. Definitely worth a visit, they are also dog friendly which is another plus for many.

How is it that when you are asked to choose your order a month in advance of your booking, you are told on arrival that you must choose an alternative desert as they, “Have no profiteroles”. Very disappointing

I was sitting opposite the kitchen. The cooking staff were seamless and motivated and their interaction with front of house staff superb. It was a slick machine full of camaraderie; fist bumps; smiles - to then produce an excellent result. The waitresses who served us were happy in their work; nothing was too much trouble - and the food was 'par excellence'! They absolutely smashed it out of the park. Congrats to the whole team! This was my first visit - it surely will not be my last. What a find!

Amazing food, would recommend the chorizo scotch egg as a starter. For mains we had the festive burger.. delicious and well cooked. Carambert inside was beautiful.

We'd heard really good things about the cherry tree, so we popped in for brunch after a run. It was really cold in there so we made use of the blankets provided. There were vegan options and the shashuka was nice, though I feel it needed more tomatoes to make it a little juicer for dipping, bread. Service was good and it was a nice place to sit and chat in a relaxed atmosphere.

I had the egg funghi, the £7.50 option, tasty but very small, one small poached egg and a small mushroom, you don't even get a full muffin just one half of a small muffin, quite disappointing. There is a £12.00 option, which I suspect is a complete muffin. Overall very overpriced when considering these are basic foods and not very much of them either.

I was fairly last minute booking for 8 and a dog for a family get together with family from Australia, Colchester and Surrey. Sarah booked our table and honestly was the most helpful person I have booked with. It was my second time here and the place was buzzing. Service was second to none and Sunday roast delicious and plentiful. The resteraunt was packed, and the staff worked so hard being on hand for everything. Thank you so much for making this day amazing for my family

Just popped in for a meal and it was absolutely spot on! The Gambas Pil Pil and Chorizo Scotch Egg were highlights – both tasted amazing and looked great too. The atmosphere was perfect for a relaxed catch up, and the staff greeted us warmly, which made us feel right at home. I’d love to come back and try more from the menu; everything looked tempting! Just a heads up, the Harissa Chicken Burger didn’t quite hit the mark for me, but overall it was a fab experience.

Sunday lunch for two. Food was tasty but very pricey for what we had. Roast chicken was generous compared to porchetta portion. 3 tiny roast potatoes for a £21 meal? Staff were nice but u pleasant view of staff clean-up area/ sauce station and overflowing bin don’t really match with price charged. Wouldn’t return at those prices.

A very nice place to eat with a nice atmosphere, kitchen open style and very pleasant staff attending. I had a steak and pizza with calamari on the side all were very tasty, I also had a cranberry or blueberry cocktail which was yummy.All in all a nice experience will come again.

Most events my fiancé and our friends celebrate it at the Cherry Tree in Olney.

Service was A1...was a lovely experience to watch the staff look after everyone. I have not eaten in a place for a very long time where the staff worked in sync, and obviously enjoy working there. Food...well I'm a coeliac and the choice was dare I say it too much for me to choose from (not used to having such a varied selection). Will definitely be back. Great place for meal with kids - nice style in the dining room and relaxed enough to not feel it was too posh to take children. Food was delicious- great fish and kids loved their food too. Really good service.

The food was ok, not that great to be very honest. The cocktails not nice were too strong! There was hair in one of the guests food, but she asked to get I changed, and the staff obliged. Service was good.

My wife and I had lunch here on Wednesday with a glass of fizz and a pizza. Delicious treat. We were able to bring our dog into the bar who had a bowl of water and some snacks after our long walk. The new menu was good to see with lots of winter spicy dishes. We were served by Courtney and Natasha who looked after us really well and made our lunch treat so special. Thank you both 🙏

Had steaks - one rare, one medium. Both overcooked. £84 for 2 steaks and 2 glasses of wine. For that money, you need to get it right.

IThe food was absolutely top-notch, especially the Lemon Slow Roasted Lamb – it was unbelievably tender and packed with flavour. The Spaghetti Bolognese was great too, and everything was really well presented. The atmosphere was lovely, making for a great vibe. Service was attentive, with the team greeting us warmly and checking in if we wanted another drink. I really appreciated their menu knowledge, which made choosing our dishes even easier. My only small gripe would be the speed of service. There was a bit of a wait for our drinks and food, but honestly, it didn’t spoil our mood at all. I can understand if they were short-staffed that night. Overall, a truly enjoyable dinner – I’ll definitely be back!

We had a lovely meal here last night. Great to see dairy free dessert that wasn't just sorbet, fudge cake or brownie. And a massive thank you to the lovely caring girls working there who helped us with potential routes to try to get back to our holiday cottage due to road closures after thunderstorms/floods blocking roads. It took us 1.5 hours to do a 30 minute journey, as we had to do a massive detour snd turn round twice, but we made it. I hope you all got home safely too!

Every time I come they are short of staff. Service is always slow and there’s always issues with the food, eg order incorrect or lack of availability of the menu. Won’t come back as it’s always disappointing. Needs new management asap. Edit: Issues are always raised directly with staff and the excuse is **always** staff shortages.

Lovely place for a meal, the food is great, the restaurant is very nice with an open kitchen and the service is great!

Steak ordered rare came medium to well. Returned and next steak came v tough and cold. Compared to £21 cost of steak, offered drink or dessert as compensation. Charged full amount for steak despite stating it was sub-standard. Service was great but unimpressed with the way the situation was handled. Spent over £400 as a group. Unimpressed.

Another lovely evening in the Cherry Tree thanks in many ways to the friendliness of the staff and the quality of food. The building is beginning to lose some of its shine, however and if the owners aren't careful, it could lose its appeal too. Always popular and certainly one of the better restaurants in a town which has superb eating places, this time my wife had the vegan Lamb style mousaka which she drooled over and gave it an absolutely delicious tag. I, on the other hand, had the porchetta which was very tasty and served with a good range of freshly cooked veg. Prices still reasonable for many of their dishes but I do feel that their steaks are over priced compared to other outlets. Still up there with the best of them for a small town.

Fabulous welcome and such a splendid place to spend a couple of hours. Spaced out, comfortable and interesting. I follow a vegan diet and there were some interesting dishes to choose from, but too many with beetroot for my taste.

A wonderful find of a Gastro pub in a beautiful village on the border of Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes? I'm told it's also where the pancake race was invented. Be sure to book ahead, it gets busy. The food was delicious and the portions were generous, calamari was the one off note in an otherwise fantastic lunch

Disappointing as only prepared one of the main courses ordered.By the time they offered to cook the missed order my wife had nearly finished her mains so refused and did not end up with the meal I had ordered Young very pleasant staff but inexperienced and for the bill to include a 10% service charge was totally inappropriate , as was the request to vote for them in the food awards -difficult when they did not serve the meal ordered. Management need to step up and be aware of their customer offering Will not be rushing to go back

I’ve given this a three star as the restaurant itself , the staff and the ambience was perfect. Very busy but the serving staff were fabulous. Onto the food, the gambas pil pil was full of flavour and eight big juicy prawns - delicious Other starters were average at best Chicken Caesar salad had a tough portion of chicken, the porchetta and fish and chips were excellent. I had fillet steak which at £39 with a pot of sauce , pot of chips few tomatoes and rocket was poor value. The steak had zero flavour, little seasoning and had not been rested - cooked well but blood pouring out onto the plate. I can honestly say it was one of the worst steaks I’ve tried - I left most and brought it home for the dog. Four starters four mains two desserts One small coke two bottles of water one pint beer Vodka and mixer One bottle of wine £250 Won’t be returning

Over priced. Uninspiring and limited choices for veggies. Dreadful food hygiene by kitchen staff. Friendly and helpful service staff. Have been for lunch and liked it - though expensive. This time went for evening meal. Some bread and olives to share - 1 portion of each was £12!!! The vegetarian choice was limited and uninspiring- moussaka or pasta with mushroom. One of our group had the moussaka. Summary “wouldnt order that again” - tasted odd. Another ordered a Barnsley lamb chop from the specials board. Received a huge bone with a little bit of meat and plenty of fat. A Barnsley lamb chop is a double chop and should be the size and shape of a large steak. This was 70% bone. Complained and they took it off the bill. Which is good but meant that effectively they had a few side vegetables for dinner. Another had fish and chips which was fine. Sticky toffee pudding was basically toffee flavoured sponge - no dates. But the worst was that after we had eaten we watched one of the kitchen staff pause from their work, blow their nose, and then carry on kneading pizza without washing their hands. Saw two other staff members wife their hands across their nose without washing their hands. If we had seen that before we ordered we would have left immediately.

I do not know the names of our servers but it was my 50th birthday and I was given a free birthday pudding which was literally the BEST chocolate pudding I’ve ever eaten!!! I was made to feel extremely special and welcome. the food and service was exceptional, we had a lovely evening and cannot express how much we enjoyed our meal. the service made my birthday meal fabulous thank you so much, if in the area again we will definitely return thank you

I wanted to sit at a table outside, but unfortunately I was put off because the table had not been cleared; plates with left food, glasses, napkins...debris. Walked away to view other places, returned after some time to the Cherry Tree, the table that we could have occupied was still in the same condition after 45 minutes....A very poor show!!! Doesn't inspire me to return.

Visited for Sunday lunch when there was an event in the market square. Our waitress was very friendly and the roast dinner was excellent. It’s a little pricey, but worth it based on the location and quality of food. Recommended.

First time visiting here with friends on a Saturday evening. Loved to look and feel of the venue and a good selection of dishes both on the menu and daily specials. Service was good and very helpful when we wanted more information on a particular menu item. Our group ordered a range of items for starters including the chorizo flatbread, baked feta, and smoked salmon, all of which was excellent. Stand out dish was Moroccan spice lamb which was on the specials board and was very good. Will definitely visit again soon as there were still a number of things on menu I wanted to try.

Booked this for our son’s Birthday, he is totally Vegan as the Cherry Tree has a good Vegan choice >. All the food was perfect, however the service was a total let down. The restaurant was not overly busy with only 3 waiters. The starters came out relatively quick but the mains came out 3/4 hour later, plus having to ask for an another drink rather than our waiter asking us is really not how it should be!. Would we return ? Yes but don’t expect good old fashioned service. Unfortunately the bill came with 10% automatically added on, of which the waitress removed it after me complaining.

Exceptional, from start to finish.! The restaurant looked bright, attractive and welcoming. Service was cheerfully professional throughout and the food was perfect - which was no surprise when, thanks to the "open kitchen", we saw how busy the kitchen team were , none more so than the hard-working head chef at the centre of it all! Our party of 4 hungry adults left the Cherry Tree feeling very full and very happy!

We had a really excellent meal here last Friday night. As soon as we entered we were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. Our waitress Nancy was really professional and very well trained. She was courteous, friendly and looked excellent in her outfit and makeup. Our drinks order was taken and we had plenty of time to look at the very extensive menu. The food arrived promptly and we all enjoyed our choices, which were all excellently cooked and presented. We had a wonderful evening and will definitely return again in the future.

We arrived for a dinner booking as a family of four (a six yeah old and a baby) and ordered a drinks at the bar. We both had a Bloody Mary and as the lad put the celery in my drink I noticed the top of the stalk was brown and crusty and the celery was a bit on the floppy side. I asked if I could swap for a fresher piece which he did. We paid for our drinks (almost £30) and sat at the table at which point I noticed my partners celery was also crusty and floppy. I took it over to the bar and put it on the bar mat to wait for his attention and said “sorry could I swap this one for a fresh piece too please?” He replied “it is fresh I’ve just cut it off” signalling at the celery still whole, unwashed and out of the packet just behind him. I said “yes it’s freshly cut but it’s not fresh celery, the top is brown and it’s all floppy. Is there a fresher piece at all?” With that he picked it up off the bar, turned around, grabbed the knife, cut the top bit off and spun round and handed it back to me and said “there you go”. Baring in mind this had just been sat on the dirty bar where everyone’s drinks are put down. I looked at him quite stunned and said “you know what it’s okay” and went back to my family. I find that really poor service given the fact we’d just spent £27 on a couple of drinks and were about to spend £200 odd in the restaurant on dinner, a washed and fresh piece of celery was too much to ask. He made me feel embarrassed for asking and I found his manner and tone extremely rude. We decided not to have our dinner there and out of courtesy I let the lady (I think perhaps the manager) in the restaurant know that we wouldn’t be staying for our dinner reservation. She asked why and I explained what had happened. She was apologetic and agreed that’s not good service. She took my email and said she would be in touch the next day but I’ve still not heard anything. Ultimately, if you can’t ensure your produce going into drinks is clean and fresh when it’s uncooked and displayed under people’s noses I dread to think what produce is being used in the kitchen, disguised by cooking it, sauces etc.

Really good breakfast. Lovely place to eat and a good size table for four of us not to feel squashed. Service was great, but not a 5 star rating as it is on the more expensive side of breakfast socialising

It’s gone downhill over the last six months since my last visit for dinner. Menu offers less choice with more pasta dishes than before & fillet steak no longer offered. Prices are much higher, particularly drink & be aware of the 10% service charge added to the bill which one should check carefully as I was charged for food I didn’t order. That was resolved quickly but not before talking to two members of staff which was awkward in front of others. Pasta dishes looked unappealing but there was plenty of it. Apple pie was more of a raisin strudel with a couple of apple chunks in it. Sadly, not good & £130 better spent elsewhere.

It's a very lovely pub. It's a little pricey, but a really nice atmosphere and good outside space. A nice touch in the ladies to have free tampons and pads on the table for those unexpected surprises. They weren't taking walks ins for food when we went, so I'd suggest ringing to book or ask if they're accepting walking before you go if food is what you're looking for.

We had my daughter’s 30th birthday meal at the pub and hired the function room. Can not fault the pub, the service, the staff were extremely polite and really helpful. They also made sure we had the same staff for night, the food was amazing not one complaint from anyone. For the 5 star service we received with their being 28 of us it was worth every penny and highly recommended

I'm really very upset. Prior to this experience, my family and friends, at my invitation, have eaten at the Cherry Tree in Olney many times, spent a lot and enjoyed the experience. On this spur of the moment occasion my wife and I wanted some cheap and cheerful grub with a drink or two and thought a pizza would do. The Cherry Tree did a two for one offer before, during half-term, but I thought to phone and check beforehand whether the offer was on. The answer was positive, so I booked for 20 mins time. In short, when we were seated and ready to order, the man in charge refused to honour our booking under the agreed terms. I told him that I'd never return if he insisted and that I considered his action was tantamount to a breach of implied contract. But he wouldn't budge and didn't care. So we left, never to go to the Cherry Tree while he was there. Shame, we liked the place.

Food not as good as it has been, Sunday roast was not great quality. Bit dry and tough.

My food was very tasty. My wife said hers had too much garlic. Both meals we're pricey but that is to be expected at a place like this in a place like this. Service was good but the manager seemed to be nagging one of the waitresses (do your managing at the back of house). This took away from the atmosphere. There was no misic playing but it was nice to hear the buzz of the other patrons.

Had a lovely Sunday Roast here. Service was a little slow but it was very late afternoon otherwise it was very enjoyable.

Have been a regular customer for several years now, lovely surroundings and usually excellent food, however, we visited this Sunday as a family treat ( 7 adults ) and the food was disappointing, the beef was tough, gristly and had very little taste, the pork was pork belly rather than a joint and was mostly fat, the base of the Yorkshire puddings were not fully cooked and had an oily taste, the best thing on the plate was the roast potatoes which were delicious. One of our party opted for the roast half chicken, which was excellent, leaving the rest of us wishing we had chosen the same. Thankfully the puddings were good, but all in all we were all very disappointed, think it will be the Bull hotel in future.
