While I would like to give them a higher rate I can’t. The place has been beautifully made. The terrace is great. On the other side the coffee machines were not working, not in the cafe nor in the ice cream shop. I would expect to be able to have an espresso ☕️ in a cafe. It’s also useful from the customers’ point of view to have an easy access price list.

Lovley location, and nice staff, but thats where it ended. £9.50 for a coronation chicken roll, what a joke. Came with a few manky salad leaves but that's it. £1 of raw ingredients at the absolute most. The roll was tiny. What an absolute rip off. Don't stop here. I know Oxfordshire is expensive, but this is beyond belief......

We had a really disappointing experience this morning. Having waited in the queue for ages, we were then told we couldn’t order a breakfast, even though it still wasn’t 11:30 (the cut off point for serving breakfasts). Without wanting to be difficult I asked if they could make a simple scrambled eggs on toast for my children, but they refused, even though they could make fried eggs as part of other meals. There are no obvious food options for children once they stop serving breakfast. The worst part - I was stood behind a woman who had brought her brother out specifically for breakfast. She explained that he had Alzheimer’s and it had taken them longer to leave the house due to his condition, but they had been looking forward to a full English at Annie’s. The person on the till refused to process their breakfast order. I understand that there has to be a cut off, but it wasn’t 11:30 yet. If the cut off is earlier, you need to make this clear. It resulted in a huge amount of disappointment for us and this other family. A little bit of flexibility and empathy would go a long way.

We went to Annie's Tea Room this summer, on a rainy afternoon. It is quaint tea place for afternoon tea. We had tea and scones and a carrot cake. The feel was very good. It is a cosy place. They have a limited menu. But they have a marque outside in case you want to have an outdoor tea party. There is plenty of parking, although there is a charge. It is adjacent to the Trupp canal. First, we had a walk along the canal and then we went for tea. It is a nice unique experience. It gives a village feel.

We went on a rainy day in April. It was supposed to be ( according to their website) National Pet Week, with a free treat for the dog and even a doggy menu. There was none of this. The place was freezing cold, the cakes were dry and tasteless, and the service was unfriendly. It might be okay if you go on a sunny day and sit outside. The location is nice, but that's about all it has going for it.

Nothing was to much trouble for the staff. Who provided us with a box to take home ,items of food we had no room for. Prosecco is available, I would rank this as good, if not better than a tea at a well known Castle. Will have to go back to Thrupp for another.

I'm not sure how to approach this review, as ordinarily I'm very fair when writing feedback. The location is great, the tea rooms are well presented, clean and tidy. Sadly, we felt for the price the service was below average. My wife ordered a full english at £14.95 and had the bacon substituted with extra sausages (4 in total) as they'd apparently run out. Initially, I let this go as we were tired, we'd just come back from France and so wanted to refuel on our way home to Norfolk. However, several minutes later, the couple who ordered after we'd already ordered and paid, were served full english without any substitutes. I was a tad annoyed to say the least. Not to mention the lady was feeding scraps of bacon to her dog. I genuinely felt like we'd been singled out as we weren't local. I felt the gentleman serving was quite rude and patronising toward some customers. We went out of our way to visit the tea rooms, sadly we shall not bother in the future. Such a shame as this little place has huge potential with the correct level of customer service. I appreciate there were a handful of customers before us, but to run out of the basics within 10 minutes of opening is a real let down.

Shameful experience, had called beforehand to see if they had wifi and if it would be ok to use it provided I bought something. They said that's fine, they're not an internet cafe but a few hours shouldn't be a problem. We bought a tea and coffee, couldn't drink the coffee as it was far too acidic and it had curdled the milk. They asked us to both leave the premises after 90 minutes. A staff member had also made a point of staring at us for an hour prior to this. Unfortunately I believe the behaviour was likely partly racially motivated. Such a shame.

Absolutely amazing food. Went twice and loved everything we ordered. However, some of the staff were very unprofessional. I watched one young man grab a desert by the tines and then present it to me for use. How does that happen? Same young man sat down at a client table, back to the door, focused on his phone and ignored an open door on a wet and windy day. Other staff were great. Worth going for the food, but keep on eye out on the prep.

I came to have a cream tea with my two daughters and grandchildren, very disappointed, there were not enough scones for us to have cream teas, we ordered carrot cake and victoria sandwich, coffee and teas. When the order arrived there was no victoria sandwich, tea and milk, when we questioned this we were told it would be rectified, a tiny piece of victoria sandwich arrived in a food box, milk and a tea bag in a disposable cup, not a tea bag in a tea pot and a china cup, very disappointed

Annie's has been around for quite sometime now. It's a great place for proper, traditional, home cooked food. Cakes fresh that day. The scones with jam and cream are amazing. Proper sandwiches which will not leave you hungry or disappointed with lovely teas, coffee and hot chocolate - which is whipped and so good.. It is very popular all year round with lots of outside seating. Toilets are nearby and you can walk off all your indulgences down at the canal bank. Service is good, and everything freshly prepared so don't go thinking this is conveyerbelt food, it isn't, its gorgeous freshly prepared just the way you order it. This is in my top ten of favourites.

Not at all worth the money. Nothing wrong with the food just not worth the amount they are charging. £35 for 3 sandwiches 2 drinks, and a savoury afternoon tea. Which was a scone, cheese, salad and some pickle it also included a coffee. Which they got wrong. The sandwiches were small, good bread though. It used to be a lot better years ago, I'm not sure why it's changed so much.

It's a lovely location, but all the laminated signs give this place the vibe of some joyless bureacrat's office. Or maybe an nhs clinic. Anyway, our visit could have been transformed by a bit more communication from the staff (e.g. "there's a 40 minute wait for hot food, is that ok?". Instead we were served coffee and my cake after 10mins, and then had a baffling further 30 minute wait for my partner's scrambled eggs. If everything could just be a bit friendlier, with more active communication, it would be a fantastic coffee shop.

A very nice area, outdoor seating only. I have a blue light card which I forgot to mention before buying lunch, drinks and cake. I asked the owner to get the discount added (something that has never been an issue elsewhere) and she refused. I thought that was abit unreasonable. You pay almost £8 for a cold jacket potato, which they do not give you the garnish on (as stated on the menu) if you have beans, I think it's very unreasonable to charge such prices and then refuse to give a discount when I have presented my blue light card. They have a small notice by the till stating they give you a discount for this, it isn't very easy to notice and I only saw it after having made the payment. I am sure most people will enjoy this small pleasant little place, however, my partner and I did not enjoy the food much which was topped off with this sort of service. We will not be returning here.

I ordered a “2-person share meal” for me and my partner last night, and while the food tasted good, it was a bit on the cold side which is expected with deliveries majority of the time. The price was a little higher than I expected, but I was willing to pay given the positive reviews I’d heard. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse early this morning. At around 5am, I woke up feeling extremely ill and sweating, with all the classic symptoms of food poisoning. My partner also messaged me (around the same time) to say he’d been throwing up and dealing with similar symptoms since the early hours as well. I believe it was the donner wraps specifically that led to this; I had ordered the beef one and my partner had ordered the chicken. It’s really disappointing, especially considering the amazing recommendations I’d received from others. I’m hoping this was a one-off experience, but I can’t ignore the fact that both of us got sick. Definitely not the experience I was hoping for, and I’m not pleased with how this turned out. I did also report it on the app.

Given the prices we were disappointed but it’s not all bad. The positives: lovely venue and nice atmosphere. The servers are also very friendly. The cons: it’s expensive for what is largely disappointing food and small portions. The service, while friendly, was slow and we waited almost an hour for our food which was nothing special at all. It could potentially be fabulous but its food and pricing needs an overhaul.
