I used to go in this pub a lot. Always putting music on the jukebox. Tributes to tyron who we sadly lost last Friday 😯😯😯. R.I.P. May God be with you always 🤘🤘🤘

Great atmosphere. Buzzing place to be having a drink on a Saturday night in Canterbury. Will be re visiting when England are playing in the euros to sample that atmosphere, should be excellent

Really horrible place- did not like it at all. The interiors are completely worn out and there was a horrible smell inside the pub. It was cheap but it was quite evident why. There are lots of better pubs in Canterbury!

Always a random experience. Small place, but punches above it's weight. Actually, I almost got into a fight tonight, but generally it's a peaceable venue. Decent choice of beer. Toilets in decent order. Internet connectivity bot of an issue. Gonna give it a 4.

Changed alot since my last visit many years ago but still a lovely side street pub. Fantastic range of beers etc on draft, spirits and some shots that looked intriguing. Will be visiting again with friends

I went in, used the toilet, got the drink everyone else gets, and then left. Didn't encounter a problem so I guess that's 👍

I arrived in Canterbury and asked a group of women where to go to meet interesting people. They told me to go to the Cherry Tree. 5 minutes later I was having drinks with truly amazing guys and girls, felt incredibly welcome, talked to and met open-minded people from all walks of life and just generally had the feeling that I had reached one of these rare places, where you can feel the genuine kindness of the human spirit.

Favourite pub in Canterbury. Service is friendly, they sell biddindens cider, and the pub is located just off the main high street down my favourite alley. Always have a good time sitting outside sippin that strong Kentish cider on the benches, smoking roll ups and talking to colourful characters.

Perfect pub, perfect people, very safe too! Left my phone plugged into the wall, came back next morning at it was still there. Super friendly, come say hello!!

Absolutely bad experience. The security guards were so unfair and racist towards my friends. The most rude and hostile people I’ve ever seen. I hope no other person ever goes through what we had to.

In der Hoffnung in einem typischen Pub ein Getränk zu bekommen, wurden wir von einer Horde jugendlicher (>16 Jahre.?) Empfangen. Es wurden mehr und mehr am Nachmittag nach Schulschluss. Preis normal, Ambiente könnte besser sein.

Had a drink chucked at me last night by a staff member. They were bringing the benches in at the end of night, my AirPods are now broken. look before you discard drinks. Staff have an intimidating attitude and there was no apology

One of the must visit pubs if you are in Canterbury. The place gets vibrant in the night with good music and an assortment of shots. Try visiting the pub in the evening, but seems the place can get very noisy during the night, so we avoided that. The shots are a must try and they are at affordable prices as well.

Great little late night bar ! Really good atmosphere and some vintage arcade games to play . The Bartender, Emma , was great , really friendly and accommodating 🙂

Really helpful guy behind the bar. Busy pub with good jukebox but quite boisterous at times, to the extent you can't hear the music. Probably not the place to go if you're after a quiet drink...

It’s a pub and it sells beer. Friendly staff. It was a bit busy and we ended up sitting outside. Mobile phone coverage is a bit dodgy outside, but it’s a short walk to the high street, and I can’t really blame that on the pub. Worth a look.

Cheapest Guinness in town, if only the jobsworth council minions would allow later opening times, outdoor seating and stronger cocktails like it used to be.

Visited Wednesday evening had an amazing experience my servers were Emma and Alex. Really detailed information on the shots and helpful with all the customers. Felt so welcome in this business will definitely visit again!!!

I went there on Friday evening with some friends. The atmosphere was really welcoming and the bar staff was really friendly. I fell in love with one of the barman, the tall and blonde one, he really was handsome. I’ll definitely go back and hopefully see him again.

The staff here were amazing! Of course being women you get weird men who feel the need to talk to you (sad reailty) but bar staff both the women and the men were always quick to ask if you were okay in a discreet and caring manner. Not many people do this anymore but they were incredible at make you sure you were safe!

There is a very toxic culture here. From some of the customers, to the bar staff, to the bouncers, to some more customers outside, to the management. Canterbury is full of lovely people but there seems to be a concentration of scum inside here. Nice Pigf****** drink though

Okay place, staff change the song if they don't like it which doesn't make sense because 1: songs are available to play on the jukebox 2: you have to pay 30p per song so if they skip it then bye bye 30p. 3: it's supposed to be enjoyable for all. Pigf*ker is alright, just a fruity drink. Overall an alright place. Would I go back? Probably not.

Small place, but quite nice to sit outside and chill.

Cheap drinks, fun people and a great atmosphere. If u just looking to get drunk and meet some strange people along the way, this is the place. Would 5 star if there was more outside sitting area, the inside and outside are always overflowing.

A nice pub to add a stop to your night. In the week, seems to be the spot for students, and can't blame them, as a good selection of beers, spirits and gin. Jukebox is a nice touch too.

Good atmosphere with cheap drinks and the staff are friendly, toilets are a bit small and dirty but otherwise a good spot for a drink

Really nice old pub down a side street - the food looked good so we decided to stay for lunch. Had good lunch and a nice, quiet drink

Such an iconic pub in Canterbury, mostly for its student population. Out of term time, it's quiet, relaxing and offers a fab range of drinks. Friendly staff, outdoor seating and a jukebox too.

Good place, but not enough space. I ask for coke without ice and came with ice. They are strict for Covid19 restrictions safety measures.

Went there today, top notch on the quality booze, top notch on the covid safety precautions. All around great! The Pig cocktail is good. If you are thinking about trying it, do it!

My favorite place in canterbury for a pint. Great staff, great beers on tap.

Sensible one way system in place and a spacious garden ensuring everybody has enough room. Good system for table sanitising that involves red painted stones being put on vacated tables so staff can clearly see what needs cleansing. Food looked very appetising but we missed service so cant comment further. Choice of lagers was a bit limited but given the circumstances its understandable pubs arent carrying too much variety. BTW - Whichever lane you take off the A28 drive with caution as some folk belt round there, there are walkers on the road and the light is not great in the summer.

I have such brilliant and warm feelings for this pub. Drank there in the 80s when visiting my then girlfriend (now wife), and it was a good honest boozer with tasty bar food. Drank the place dry on my wife's graduation day. Continue to visit when we can. Beer well kept.

I was staying in a hotel round the corner & came across this as i walked into town. Lovely little pub, very friendly staff, covid precautions in place, great variety of drinks & food was very tasty. I'm a vegetarian however there were a number of options for me. If I visit Canterbury again, I will definitely visit again.

My daughter and I went to this public house for lunch.The social distancing was very good and the sanitising was excellent,everything was wiped down.We ordered 2 meals,I scampi and chips,1 all day breakfast.The food was bought to the table and it was amazing.Hot and very tasty.Would recommend to anyone to eat there.

The official website and google says it closes at 3am on Friday night. But at 01.30am I was informed by the management that it’s “not exactly packed” and the closing time was at their discretion and that they would be calling 1h30m early, which left me

Had good and bad times in here but still bafflee that I'm not allowed to drink alcohol kind of annoying but yeah not a bad place just wish they clean there floors bit better. Had nasty falls in there with my slippery trainers damm things. I tend to dance a lot.

It was hard for me ..having a hearing problem to speak to staff to give them my order because the music was so loud even with my hearing aid I was to difficult to hear what the bar staff were saying other than that I cant fault the place

Safe haven for me and my mates for over 10 years. Great atmosphere

We go in every time we visit and used to look forward to it: on this occasion we seem to have hit the time when all the 'effers and blinders' were out. Couple this with the exceptionally loud music and it made for a most uncomfortable experience. A chap called Terry was dragging this place up by its bootstraps, the food was good and there was a casual, welcoming atmosphere about the place; this time there was no food (a good reason for that) but it seems that everyone was concentrating on drinking (and swearing) instead. This place gave the impression that it was no longer the happy, relaxed place it used to be that used to welcome all types of guest and now just seems to welcome one, particular kind of customer. A blessed relief on the ears when we left.

Great on a Friday night for a dance when they have the funk and soul DJs. Good selection of beer. Usually crowded after 10pm particularly at the weekend, but it's a nice mixed crowd and can be lots of fun. Don't go here late at the weekend for a quiet drink - that won't happen!!!

Kinda expensive but they have...umm...drinks that are named after an alleged encounter between a former prime minister and the deceased corpse of the species "Sus domesticus" which are very tasty and get you drunk. Let's be honest, that's what you're here for right? As a millenial or member of Gen X, our lives are looking increasingly bleak so why not drown your sorrows in 3 pound cocktails here?

Got some squash drink for £3.50 which was better than the flat Amstel pint that they served. I will never return there. Sorry.

Nous voulions un Pub typique pour faire connaître ce genre d’endroit à des novices en la matière et bien entendu boire une pinte même si nous étions en après-midi et avec des enfants. Et bien, réussi sur tous les points, serveur sympa, ambiance tranquille et bonne bière British !!! Proche du centre et des jardins à visiter absolument par ailleurs.

Really central but on a quiet side alley. Good location and nice selection of "daring" beers ad ciders. I fell in love with the mango one.

Not sure what it's like during the day here, but at night it's horrible and I hate when my friends rope me into coming here for the 1 David Cameron themed drink with Derrick the over-aged DJ blasting music at 100dB+ in a pub that is tiny. Everyone moves away from the 'Dancefloor' and crowds in the other room because it's so annoying, or they just stand outside. The empty dancefloor clearly suggests people aren't there for the music, switch it off.

Nice friendly staff who know their job, plenty of choice of drinks ie lagers.
