Nice chilled atmosphere less busy than other bars. Great place to chat and meet up with friends. Staff were friendly.

The roast dinner was amazing 👌 10 out of 10. The brownie and ice cream was delicious, brownie was nice and warm too. Kids roast was just as delicious. The service was exceptional lovely and friendly.

A day trip to Whitstable from afar, so wanted to eat somewhere memorable, the Quayside turned out to be the right choice. We'd wandered about the town and returned to the Quayside as it and the menu were 'right'. Had possibly the best cod and chips I've ever eaten, the fish was sublime. My wife had a tagliatelle dish which for a non-Italian restaurant was exceptional too, add a few more veggie options and you're flying. We gathered that the place is under new management, if the food is this good all the time you'll do really well as an 'eatery' pub.

Best Sunday Roast in a long time! Visited this lovely pub with my family, was greeted with a very warm welcome and served delicious home cooked food. Great atmosphere and will definitely be returning.

£7 a pint ? feel i have been rinsed. Plain greedy, why charge so much? I suppose you know that you will get in the DFL's but what about us poor locals who have supported all the local pubs for years ?

I have visited here for food and for evenings to watch a band I recommend visiting for both The food and service provided, outstanding The Lady with the blonde Bob hair, appears to be the Manager, is very personable, hardworking and cheerful Thanks a million to the Chef and all the Team

The best steak and ale pie! Friendly staff and the Drag Bingo was deliciously bonkers! Not for the feint hearted or easily offended. We had a great night.

Family visited from Yorkshire so we popped into it on the off chance we could eat. The barmaid was very welcoming and found us "the last table for four." Our order for food and drink was quickly taken. The ale I had was lovely. The food arrived quickly and was enjoyed by us all. We will be definitely pay it another visit.

Disappointed that it says online that they're dog friendly, they wouldn't allow us in with our dog and came especially to watch a band, they said dogs aren't allowed in when a band is on, they wouldn't even allow us to buy a drink to sit outside and the pub wasn't overly busy either. Reply. Pub wasn't crowded. Outside most definitely wasn't either, notwithstanding our dog is happy with music and in crowds, we just come from The Waterfront with our dog who did welcome us in with live music, we had also traveled 45 mins to see Daves Dance Band and your website said it was dog friendly.

Ordered a Guinness and a pot of tea wish I had more time to stay. Service was top notch very friendly bar staff. Will be back again.

Nice place, the two girls running front of house were excellent and rarely overrun due to their excellent work rate, no yacking at the bar, super efficient and aware of customer service being top of the list. Will definitely visit again and recommend to all.

Pretty below average fish and chips. The chips were definitely frozen and not exactly fish and ships style chips. Fish was alright but very oily. It was served on paper which disintegrated into the fish a bit. Nice staff though.

We had homemade steak and ale pie, with chips and peas, very nice, also good beers and friendly service. Excellent place to eat or drink, definitely would return.

A wonderful place to be. Friendly professional staff, wonderful pub meals. Better food and pricing than many an overhyped restaurant. The pie chips and gravy was an excellent meal. The drinks choice was varied, some new to us. This Yorkshire couple had a most excellent meal and friendly experience. We thank the wonderful staff for their professional work and generosity of spirit. We enjoyed the outside table as we watched the world go by. The Pub is in A good postion that saves a trek around the high street. Corner site, dont go past, you cannot miss a treat at fair prices.

Having visited several Shepherd Neame pubs in the area only to be told they were nor serving any cask ale!! No reason given. We found ourselves at The Quayside which had a couple of Brakspears on AND Ploughman's on the menu and fresh crab sandwiches. Excellent staff and service good beer and food. Says it all really.

We called in here one evening as it was close to our accommodation. My husband had a meat pie and I had scampi and chips. Both were very generous portions. The pie looked lovely. If I had to be very critical, then my scampi was not very crispy, but it was piping hot. Very impressed with the lady serving behind the bar, serving food, clearing tables and taking the money !! Would call in again.

Excellent lunch and very friendly helpful staff

Our group popped in on a Saturday night, initially we were greeted by a fairly anonymous and quiet venue (think Slug & Lettuce without the charm). However once the live music kicked in it became what felt like the centre of Whitstable’s party scene. Families, drunken lads, energetic millennials, you name it - all here, dancing and having a good time. Beautifully unhinged…..when busy.

Lovely place, lovely food and lovely people but.....considering the age of the building it is a bit short on style. Felt like it hadn't been finished.

First time in this little gem of a place, been to whitstable soooo many times but never Bern in-big mistake..warm friendly reception, good food such a pleasant surprise, can't wait to go again!

We had dinner here last night and was great. I had chicken flatbread that came with giant cous cous, peppers, hummus and great crispy/fluffy chips and my wife had same but with haloumi instead of chicken. Was on the menu as "small plate" but was big enough for a main and only £45 for both with a bottle of Rose. Lovely friendly service and top quality pub food, Highly recommended.

Fantastic place for our first meal out in Whitstable. We just arrived and went looking for a place to rest our tired bones Great food and excellent service!

The fish was obviously fresh and cooked perfectly, still moist with not too much batter. The chips tasted great, they were soft inside and the right size. A very enjoyable meal, well done to the chef. Also, good value for money in Whitstable.

Had a wonderful evening here with a few friends from work. Pub quiz night. Available every first Thursday of the month. The atmosphere and service were amazing. The quiz was fun with some very entertaining rounds. All in all, it was a really good night.

Staff were excellent about allergies - the chef himself came out to discuss them and recommend dishes. Then the food itself was great. Very impressed.

Called in for Lunch today (Saturday) ordered Scampi & Chips & Cod & Chips! Both Meals absolutely Beautiful! Huge portions, piping hot & very tasty! Great service, Great Beer & Wine! Perfect Pub, loved it! 10/10 Will be going back for sure!

Always a blast to be had at the Quayside. It changes a lot from lunch to evening as they often have things going on. Go for the drag bingo, you won't be disappointed! The staff are always smiling despite often being busy. You really must book a table if you want to guarantee a seat, it's an extremely popular place!! The food is good and usually fairly fast to come out. They have a good selection of drinks but the prices are very 'Whitstable' and could be a little cheaper.

A group of 10 of us joined the Drag Bingo night - what a laugh! Small cash prizes to be one whilst being entertained by two very funny drag queens

First time I went there and had a good band the atmosphere was really good

The food was not good. The burger consisted of two small patties on the now traditional brioche bun with a huge cocktail stick rammed into it. The chips were in the usual metal basket and very hard. 14 quid I think. Now the so called “ploughmans”. A small pre packed bread roll , a slice of red Leicester and a slice of cheddar. The sprinkling of onion and tomato complimented by two party pork pies. Only a tenner!! The latter was an insult to the senses and definitely not a “Ploughmans “ no thought or originality at all We were starving and that’s the reason behind staying . The pork pies went to the dog.. Sorry but this needs to be said. The service was polite and as I was brought up well I even left a tip.

Lovely pub and well situated for all Whitstable amenities. We had a drink and lunch which was lovely and great quality. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Small garden roadside so good place to get a drink and watch the world go by.

Fried and i went there today. Very disappointed. Food has gone downhill. Lack of choice. Very reduced menu. Not even a Sunday roast! Chips were not still hard, not cooked. Not advertised it possible to have fries not chips. No hacket potatoes. £7 £or a sandwich. The waitress was super, no probs with her, polite smiling happy - lovely. Been there before when by, 1.00, it would be packed. Today only 3 couples and 1 of 3 people. On a par now, worst luck. With the "new" wheatsheaf at swalecliffe. The scampi was quite nice. My friend had prawns and sweet chilli sauce on tiny bit of baquette. Prawns still had shells on but she did say they were quite nice. We have been there numerous times, but NOT again. I very rarely write reviews but it was so horrible at the quayside today I felt I had to. We spent nearly £100 between us, friend wanted to pay for my birthday treat. Said she wasn't paying for inedible food. There was a small meal menu, why can't there just be smaller portions from main menu? Sorry Quayside, you need to up your game if you want happy customers. The waitress was the best thing about our visit. Will give a review of 1* as cannot put in 0.

We love the Quayside, we regularly attend there because it is dog friendly, food is always fantastic and the staff are so friendly. One of my favourite places in Whitstable.

Food was very poor. We had a curry that was awful and we sent it back. The rice was over cooked and the sauce tasted off. It was replaced with a pizza. No rocket was served on the pizza and it was very thick and heavy. I had the homemade pie and it was cheap meat and the gravy was tasteless.

Perfect roast dinner, the best service we have received in Whitstable! The live music was incredible and the atmosphere was friendly and vibrant. The bar manager is our new best friend after running out to us in the road to return our umbrellas to us the next day! We can’t wait to come back

We ate here on a family day out in Feb half term. The food was really lovely and the staff were super friendly and helpful allowing the kids to be have smaller portions off the main menu. Would definitely come back next time I'm in Whitstable.

Seriously good Fish and Chips (better than the chippy down the road 😬) cooked perfectly, tasty chips and homemade tartar. Great selection of beers and ale on tap and nice friendly, efficient staff. Been here a few times of an evening but not eaten. Other dishes looked nice as well. Of an evening often live music and great crowd of people. A must visit if in whitstable.

Really nice pub, great food, great staff. I had fish n chips - great.t wife hand homemade burger with a massive lump of blue cheese. So good. And nice coffee as well.

Just had an early dinner for 7 of us , and had to say the food was excellent and the service was even better . It had a great atmosphere and although not the first time we have eaten or just had a drink there all the staff were fantastic and we are looking forward to the next time . Thank you for a lovely family meal.

The pub itself was okay, however the food or rather the dish I had chosen was awful. Hunters Chicken. It was tough and dry with congealed cheese and I presume barbecue sauce. Having said that, everyone round the table thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I should have complained on the spot and now wished I had. We had pre-booked and were waited on with friendly staff, and for that reason they deserved the five stars but let themselves down with my chosen dish.

The fish was fresh and huge, piping hot, and tasted delicious. We would recommend this pub highly, great place to eat or just have a drink.

Always a good night when Red playing there great singer. The new decor is nice, food was good, I love crumble but did have to send first one back as underdone but they soon put it right .

Really lovely, extremely clean with a pleasant ambience. Great service, and probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. I recommend the "Whitstabubble" beer too! Too notch!

Found this little gem on a trip to Whitstable, the service is 100% , fabulous staff couldn’t do enough for you . The food is amazing , well presented and very tasty . Will certainly go back on any further visits to Whitstable .

The food and service were good. It's a bit pricey, though.

This place has been turned around by the new owners and is unrecognisable from the dump it used to be! On top of that, the pizzas are excellent.

Our 2nd visit this year and it didn't disappoint us. Great service and tasty food. 2 of us had the Ploughman's Lunch which was very filling indeed....the only disappointing item on the plate were the soft pickled onions...not at all crunchy. My sister- in- law is vegan so she selected the pumpkin and sweet potato curry with rice. She said it was absolutely delicious...but we all agreed thr portion could have been a bit bigger. The points above should not detract you from visiting...the food is VERY good

Made extremely welcome. Service excellent as was food. Recommend the seafood sharing platter. The waitress said "you are welcome" and we really felt that was true.

Delicious home cooked pie. Went back the following evening and had an equally delicious lasagne. Friendly staff. All round excellent dining experience.

The Quayside bar & kitchen is a cut above the usual pub food found along Weymouth quayside. You won’t find fried fish here. Instead you’ll find some thoughtful recipes designed to bring out the exquisite qualities of fresh sea food. I’ll state straight away I’m not a great sea food fan. However there is some fish I like, and it should be noted that this restaurant does have choices for those like me, or indeed for those not liking any sea food. I had salmon pasta and very nice it was too. Another person in my party loves sea food and he absolutely loved his dish. All in all we were very satisfied. There was a minor hiccup in that one dish was meant to come with diced fried potato and not fries, but they’d run out of the former. That was a shame because the person who ordered it specifically wanted to take a break from fries/chips. As I say, this was a minor hiccup. The service was fantastic. The waiter was very helpful. Also he skilfully steered himself around the cringeworthy jokes from an elderly member of our group. He gave 100% and for that I am most appreciative. On leaving the restaurant I recommend that you take in the nice surroundings of the restaurant, with a walk by the water. There are many other pubs in that area, ideal for a nightcap. Enjoy!

Had the pulled pork. Excellent quality and really good portion size. So far had Smash Burger, Squid all worth coming back for. Really recommended.

Cuisine: simple and delicious! Obviously, menus with fish are recommended. Seaside obliges. The fish is very fresh and very well prepared. Toilets: accessible! This is a VERY good point in this neighborhood. Staff: smiling, charming, helpful. A little corner of paradise.

5 out of 5. Friendly, welcoming staff. The food menu isn’t extensive but certainly something for everyone. The food is good quality and cooked well. The only criticism there is a little too much food and you feel bad leaving it but would rather that than leave hungry.

Unexpectedly good(years ago was very rough). Nice relaxing pub in a very busy area. Good food, will be back as I live in Whitstable

The fried calamari and fries were absolutely lovely, and the prawns on the skewers were fab too... Hope to return again, would be nice to see a ploughman's available on weekends tho
