A very pleasant pub. Good beer (Harvey’s). Dog friendly. Helpful staff. One of my current favourites.

The best Sunday lunch I have eaten for a long while, really good. The service was friendly, and the price under £20 each for main course and sweet, with a bottle of wine as well! Excellent.

Party of 9 for mother's day and we all absolutely loved the food. Beautiful presentation and cooked to perfection. Service was very attentive and the dining room is cosy. The cheesecake in particular was memorable and I would definitely come back to try their regular menu. Excellent place!

It’s a nice pub but I was hoping the new management would improve the food. It’s very simple, and not horrific, and I think the service was good. To be honest they could just do with visiting some other local pubs with great menus and getting some hints. Sunday roast was very basic. Edible, but basic. But wouldn’t have it again. Fingers crossed some energy is put into improving it as the pub itself is very friendly.

A lovely rural pub just a few minutes away from the centre of Swanley. A very reasonably priced Sunday lunch in a party of eleven. It's the sort of pub where you can unexpectedly run into friends, and once again we did.

Booked for a family get together on Sunday for 16 people of all ages. The food was really good and well presented, the staff were friendly, polite and attentive to all our needs. The bar staff were great and there was a lovely atmosphere in this lovely pub. After the meal we played darts which we all enjoyed. Will definitely be visiting again.

Had the Christmas menu. 6 of us went and all had different food. Everybody was very happy and I have to say the standard of the food was very good. The fondant was superb. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Will definitely be back.

Under new management, and it shows as atmosphere is lovely feels like village pub should, welcoming and cozy, good selection of wines and beers,food very good and the service team very helpful and friendly and a good variety of food on menu ,dogs very welcome and nice garden area with BBQ and petanque ,and children's play area ample parking new owners are always available for you to give feedback or make suggestions for new things to try

Went for Sunday lunch, had made a reservation the night before,made welcome and fab atmosphere. The roast dinner was lush, we both had beef cooked to perfection, both had dessert carrot cake and pear and almond sponge,delicious

What a super country pub! We met as a party of 7 for Sunday lunch, having booked a week in advance with Jacky. We were able to use the disabled parking bay for my infirm cousin and wheelchair access to the pub was possible via the street-facing entrance. Our table was prepared for us and we were seated and served drinks very quickly. The Sunday lunch menu is terrific. There's a selection of roasts for both large and small appetites as well as alternative food choices and vegetarian options. Several of us had the smaller roast lamb dish which was ample. The lamb was extremely tasty and tender and the roast potatoes were crispy and delicious. The dish was also served with vegetables in season which were perfectly cooked and an individual Yorkshire pudding. A gravy boat, per diner, was provided to accompany the roast. The dessert of the day was also excellent. Home made blackberry and apple crumble served, piping hot, in a large ramekin with a side serving of custard. Service was excellent too, attentive and caring without being pushy. Jacky was in evidence throughout the lunchtime, serving and clearing as well as supervising the staff. It was a very special experience and we four old cousins will most definitely return to this super traditional pub. 5 stars for sure.

Excellent place to sit with friends and enjoy there evening. I enjoyed the food as well as the beer.

The food was very tasty, the staff are very helpful and friendly and the atmosphere inside was very comfortable. There is a garden area you sit in, but it was far to hot on the day.

A lovely pub/restaurant. Always a friendly welcome, and the food is delicious. The “over-55’s”menu is astonishing value for a main, pud and hot drink. Highly recommend the steak pie or mushroom tagliatelle when they feature, plus any pud!! A regular lunchtime haunt. Recommend booking.

Held our mum’s wake at this pub for 40 people. Excellent spread of food with tea and coffee also provided. Staff were efficient and friendly - would thoroughly recommend.

Popped in here yesterday on the off chance, was very busy but we were offered a table, food was brilliant and so reasonable. Service was also great and will definitely return. Would book in advance next time to ensure a table. Seems to be a very popular place.

Haven’t been back here in over 2 years due to living abroad and COVID but it’s still as good as ever. Great home cooked food, friendly service and a decent selection of real ales. Highly recommended!

Used to be my local but then we moved abroad so nice to be able to return for the first time in over two years due to Covid19. Not much has changed but that’s a good thing because under the current owners it’s been a great place to eat and drink since they took it over. Highly recommended!

Consistently friendly and welcoming pub. We stop by when we are in the area for work so not always in our best but the owners greet us and our two lurchers like old friends. Very happy to have well behaved dogs visiting, in fact our very nervous new rescue owes a lot of her rehab to this pub! The food is wholesome, well presented and reasonably priced . Good garden for families and plenty of parking. Toilets are spotless. No sticky tables. Good selection of beers and well kept pumps.

Lovely pub. Nice food when eaten there. Seems lately though I always seem to arrive in evening just as food is stopped! I wouldn't call 8pm too late to eat after work and kids activities finish.

Great pub run by a lovely family. I pass two pubs to get to the Chequers when ever I visit because of the welcoming staff, the present atmosphere and the frankly superb food. Can’t believe it’s taken me so long to leave a review but I’m a very happy regular these days

My colleague couldn't have picked a better venue for her very homely wedding reception - full of memorable history to them, bless. Pub is very spacious with large back garden and children swing. Staff and pub owner were very attentive to customers needs. Dance floor was brilliant and so much fun. Had a lovely time there!

Food and service is great, a nice pub in a nice village, there's a small climbing frame with a slide for little children and a couple of swings for older children, you have the choice of sitting inside and out if you can sit outside in the summer sunshine, do so. I'm coming back the next opportunity I get.

Lovely lunch in the garden. I had a cheese and mushroom omlette and salad, very good. They have a machine for tea and coffee, coffee was ok but prefer to have a pot of tea not a cup, so that's why my review has 4 stars not 5.

A nice little friendly pub. The food is great and the staff are polite and helpful. Great to have a drink inside or out! The staff were also very COVID aware and run a tight ship to ensure the safety of everyone.

Well organized for Covid restrictions, the owners are operating a one way system in and out of the bar area, very safe. Good beer and food served. Large beer garden available for use, especially on a warm day.

Went for lunch there yesterday, the place is very well managed & Covid problem is given the due diligence it deserves. All customers are temperature checked & details recorded on entry. The service is excellent & very friendly, & the food is great, especially those apple crumbles.

Had a family meal here yesterday. Everyone ordered different meals and I can honestly say every meal was perfect. The staff are friendly and helpful. Would recommend to all 👍🏼

Actually not bad, we were told not to bother by friends and family but it was ok. Just went for a few drinks with friends and fekt as welcoming and pleasant as it could with all the current restrictions
