Lovely gem in kemsing! Lovely staff, brilliant food, really welcoming and very friendly atmosphere! Held our family Xmas party here last year and holing it again this year! It was brilliant! Would recommend this pub for parties or even for lunch and dinner!

I’ve been to the lovely old pub a few times but never eaten but I now wish I had. It has a lovely big garden and really friendly welcoming staff.

Great pub and great food, together with an excellent service.

Really impressed with the food. All our requests vegan, gluten free etc were catered for. All 16 meals arrived together and we couldn’t fault any of them. Loved the private room. Friendly staff. Definitely be back.

As always a warm welcome by the team at the Bell. Scrumptious roasts, pork x 2 and a turkey and ham. Homemade puddings, a Christmas mess and a Baileys cheesecake were delightful. Cannot wait for our next visit. Thank you all at The Bell. 🙂

Really disappointing. Staff were incredibly sour faced and rude. You expect a friendly welcome in a village pub but we certainly didn’t get one. We felt like we were a bit of an inconvenience. The roast was fairly average. The table cloths were stained and the carpets were dirty. Not great and we won’t be back.

Sorry, I couldn't even review the food! I couldn't get in. The building was completely inaccessible for me as a powerchair user. They did say they were going to look at this, but in 2023 I find this totally unacceptable. There was nowhere to park either. It was ridiculously busy. So the table we had booked, I never even got to use. On a plus note, they said they were able to cater for my food allergies and intolerances had I been able to eat there. Ended up at a pub down the road which couldn't cater for my food requirements so I ended up with a packet of crisps for lunch! Lesson learned, better planning needed.

Lovely village pub with a,great atmosphere.

Feeling peckish I popped in for lunch. Had potato and leek soup. At £6.50 you might think a bit expensive but it came piping hot, more like a veggie casserole than a soup with French bread and butter. Lovely.

Had a very nice meal with friends in a friendly proper traditional village pub. Great beer, great home cooked food. We had he liver which was delicious and a very good portion. The crab salad was also very good. Recommended

There was a nice welcome from staff . The food was excellent. Never tasted gammon so good. The ploughmans had so much on it, including homemade slaw it was delicious! We were so full after !! Very reasonable price They make a decent brew too.

A couple of my mates and I popped in for lunch after a long walk one Friday lunchtime. A really warm welcome. Excellent food ( I had the halloumi burger which was top notch). Great pint. Really friendly and professional service. No wonder every table was occupied. We will definitely be back very soon!

Huge fish and chips portions, tasty and a very nice garden! Visited it many times. The only thing I would add, is some canned IPA as long as they are not so popular to be served from the tap.

My first time of visiting and not disappointed. A friendly pub with a lovely varied choice on the menu with GF options available. The quality was superb. Will definitely be returning.

Well first time of eating here and second time of coming here . And have to say really impressed Real local pub very friendly. Eat there on a Wednesday night and all three of us really enjoyed our food Lovely fish and chips piping hot . Nice lasagna. And great sausage and mash . Also the service and staff We’re excellent. Would definitely recommend this pub / restaurant. Will be back ….

Quality pint of Guinness in a warm, friendly village Pub

A classic old English pub in a very quaint village. The real stand out here though is the food - pub classics done very well and the most delicious home-made desserts. Make a reservation and enjoy a hearty, comforting meal.

Always excellent food and great staff, friendly atmosphere. One of my favourite places to eat.

Really lovely traditional pub. Always greeted with a smile and a warm welcome by the staff. The food is great and reasonably priced. The outside seating area is a bonus in the summer sunshine.

Booked Sunday lunch for four of us. There was quite a variety on the menu from the standard roast options, through the a la carte menu to a variety of specials of the day, almost too much to choose from. But being Sunday, the decision was easily made, 3 roast beef and 1 roast lamb. One of our party is fussy about which vegetables he likes but alternatives were offered and gratefully accepted. Our drinks arrived promptly and our food soon after. The food was lovely the beef simply melted in the mouth and the lamb was excellent as well, a good variety of vegetables even the fussy eater was happy with the choice. The only downside was the main courses were so filling that we had to forgo a dessert. The landlord and landlady plus all the staff were very friendly and I highly recommend the pub.

Great freshly cooked food, very quick service and lovely staff - the four of us were not sure about this pub as none of us had eaten there before in our years of walking in the Kent countryside but we each found it to be delightful. Even the vegetarian in our small group enjoyed his food - he’d often struggle to find suitable options yet had a good choice in The Bell. And we all enjoyed the beer.

This pub was recommended to me by several local residents for Sunday roast. Well, they weren't wrong. If someone can make even the accompanying broccoli and cauliflower taste delicious, you know you're onto a winner. The sticky toffee pudding and particularly the Bailey's cheesecake were incredible too. The pub is unassuming but the staff are super friendly and the service is great. It's not hard to see why this place seems to be a local favourite.

Generous portions, well prepared food and great, friendly service. A bit pricey but I felt that I got what I paid for. Would recommend.

It was shut at 9pm. I took a quick walk down from another local pub as it was a warm evening. I then had to walk back. Shame as I’ve had great nights there in the past.

There were 9 of us and it was great to be in a pub restaurant that was not part of a chain and served lovely food. The landlord and landlady were very friendly and welcoming. As well as the printed menu, there was also a blackboard with many choices.

Popped into the Bell after a walk up kemsing hills. Just fancied a light lunch and chose the prawn sandwich. Probably the best presented and tasty one I've ever had. Came with chips, small salad with coleslaw etc. Really good. Very friendly service must be great to be a local.

We booked for Sunday lunch for four of us and glad we did as the restaurant was very busy. The menu was varied with the usual roast options and various other options on the specials board. We all opted for a traditional roast all of which were really tasty with a good variety of vegetables. After a sufficient gap we were all able to do justice to a delicious desert. A lovely lunch served by friendly helpful staff and not to damaging on the pocket, we will return.

Having spent a couple of hours walking the Greensand Way we (three adults, two children) were desperate to find a place to rest and grab a bite to eat. The Bell was almost opposite our car park so we decided to give it a try. I had the liver and bacon and the other adults opted for the homemade burger. The meals were all substantial and delicious and the prices were very reasonable. The garden was surprisingly quiet given that it was a glorious day just out of lockdown. Service was prompt and friendly. We are definitely returning.

We've had lunch at the Bell several times, and were really happy it's reopened. Scampi is wonderful, burgers and fish and chips are really good, and the sandwiches are very generous. The staff are great and it has a spacious garden outside.

Had a roast with the family here today. Absolutely awesome! Huge, tasty, veggie Wellington was so much better than your average nut roast. Irish guys running the place gave great service. Love it. See u after lockdown!

After a long, but fantastic walk, four of us were very hungry and thought we would try Our luck at The Bell as we were parked locally. From the start, we were warmly welcomed by staff. Cosy and comfortable, we were seated quickly and provided with a menu and specials board. As I vegetarian, there were ample choices. The food came quickly and piping hot. Portion sizes were big but more importantly the quality was excellent. I was so full but a pudding had to be ordered. All homemade and very generous portions again. Sticky toffee pudding for me! Absolutely delicious. I was glad we were able to support a local business but even more delighted with the quality of service and food. What a gem of a place. Thank you so much. And yes, we will be back xxx

The food at The Bell is being talked about with smiles by the locals .We had fish and chips it was outstanding ,large portion of fresh fish in a crisp light batter It's the best I have had in ages .The fish platter is a hit with all and the mussel's are great .

I have got to say the best pub meal we have had in a long time x served hot with large portions of fresh veg x the service was excellent with friendly staff and making sure everything is ok x a lovely cosy atmosphere definitely worth a visit x we will be back to try some more homemade meals from your menu x

Half decent pub with reasonable food. The menu was uninspiring and limited. The beer was good and service friendly.

I dropped in unannounced with my wife and son for a midweek lunch. We were hardly through the door when we received a very cheery hello. We were shown to an empty table and asked what drinks we would like. We then chose food from a specials board and standard menu. All meals were delicious.The Bell thoroughly deserves it's very high ranking in Tripadvisor reviews. I strongly recommend a visit and will definitely be returning myself.

Excellent food, wholesome and tasty, in a relaxed atmosphere. Although space is relatively small, it did not feel claustrophobic in any way. The staff were very polite, friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed in Kemsing when walking the North downs way and ate here in the evening. Great pub, equally welcoming to locals meeting up after work for a pint or two and visitors having a bite to eat. No gastropub pretensions but generous portions of well-cooked pub food.

We visited for the first time (but but for some of our family) on Sunday. What a joy! Absolutely lovely and friendly staff and excellent service. Nothing was too much trouble (two very young babies!). Food easy delicious and no complaints at all! We will all definetely return.

After a 7 mile walk on a very cold Sunday afternoon this was the comfort afterwards. With boards welcoming walkers and cyclists alike this heart of village hostelry presented us with pleasant staff and a fast service to add.

We came here as a group at very short notice & they were very accommodating & were able to serve a group of us a lovely meal.

Friendly welcome. Really nice roast. Everyone really enjoyed it. The gravy was lovely, even my daughter loved it and ate all. Deserts really nice. Just nice to go somewhere new and all be happy at the end 😀

My family and I enjoyed a delicious lunch at The Bell recently. The portions served were very generous. The landlord and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely visit Thd Bell again. I would recommend this lovely place to anyone

Friendly Irish landlord but limited choice of real ale, uninspired interior, rather dingy and drab front bar and a lounge bar laid out as a restaurant.

Arrived at The Bell for lunch, parking was easy. Once inside the staff greeted us, showed us to our table, all very cheerful and friendly. Looked at the menu on the blackboard, not a big menu but varied something for everyone. We ordered drinks, decided what to eat, ordered roast beef & braised lamb, served with roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding, & gravy, veg came up separately, all hot and well cooked. the meat was tender and tasty, yorkshires good,not burnt or flat, so needless to say empty plates went back to the kitchen. We had dessert, apple pie and spotted dick, both excellent. Followed by coffee and a mint choc.
