The Chef Thai Cuisine in Horsham

First timers here, found it on a visit to the bookshop nearby. Can only say we will definitely be back. Wonderful tasty fresh food, fab flavours, amazing staff, lovely friendly atmosphere. Was very relaxing place to eat. Their welcome felt genuine. People coming in clearly returners. Will tell others about it. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Went last Saturday with work colleges. The best Thai restaurant I have been too. Food was outstanding real authentic cuisine. Wonderful hospitality, they know how to look after you. Can't wait to go back, definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend xx

Food was amazing - lots of variety and dietary options. Staff were lovely and we had to switch a few bits of the meal due to an allergy and they were so helpful. Fab cocktails! Need an excuse to go back!

Home to the worlds spiciest pad thai apparently. Partner doesnt like spicy in the slightest but i do. Informed the waiter 1. " i really like spice and ive just tryed her pad thai and its really really hot" 2. " no no its not spicy", there no chilli 1. " it is spicy, please try some, i enjoy spicy food and this is really hot" 2. " no no its not spicy, no spice " £7 sevice charge Cool story.

Was lucky enough to be in Billingshurst this weekend and experience the wonderful food of The Chef Thai Billingshurst. The food is fresh and cooked really well. I had the crispy chilli duck with sweet chilli sauce which was amazing. The service was excellent, efficient and always with a smile. The restaurant is small and very popular, so make sure you book advance. Loved it so much, we ate there twice in three days.

Have to say all the dishes we had last night were very good - the Thai Chef is maintaining its usual high standard.

First time I ve been. Went for lunch. Was full and the atmosphere was superb. Waited on quickly , drinks and food served very promptly. Food was amazing. So tasty. Went with some people from Hong Kong who loved it. Will go again very soon

The staff and owners are so lovely, and the Head chef Tony cooks as authenticity as you wish...my favourite Thai restaurant by far :)

We had the mixed starter and Goo Chu Chi. We enjoyed our food and the pleasant atmosphere.

We have had a lot of Thai food in the UK, but this is certainly 1 of the most authentic Thai restaurants that we've been to. Prices are affordable as well. It would have been nice if they could be more generous with their Tom yum portion, but it certainly won't deter me from going back there again.

Our first visit to this excellent Thai restaurant in Billingshurst. We visited on a quiet Wednesday evening. Inside it has a nice, welcoming feeling. There is a a well stocked bar and the staff are very friendly. Excellent menu with all staples plus a few nice surprises. I missed the special board but was not disappointed with the Thai fish cakes to start and stir fried crispy pork for mains. My wife had the Tom Yum soup followed bt the Green Curry. All dishes were delicious and good value for money. Take away service was doing a roaring trade. Well worth a visit to eat in and sample the atmosphere or if you fancy a take out, complementary wine/beer are given when you have spent a certain amount.

Amazing food and probably the best Thai we have ever had! We had a take away so can only imagine how good the food is for eat in! Highly recommend

I’ve just moved to Billingshurst and have had a takeaway from here on 2 occasions when friends have been visiting. We’ve all been very impressed with the food. The portions are very generous and there’s always something leftover to have the next day. Only problem for me is I don’t drive so would only order when I have a friend over with a car. I really wish they delivered as I’d definitely order more often if they did.

Efficient, friendly service. Every dish was beautifully cooked and so tasty. We had duck roll, Squid, chicken satay and ribs to start, followed by Pad Thai. Delicious 😋

Fantastic restaurant. As someone who cooks alot of Asian recipes at home this place really stands apart from other Thai restaurants. Authentic delicious dishes with top class service every time. Enjoyed the cod cheek curry last night which was on special and it was devine. Even better was the Pandan cake for dessert. Highly highly recommended.

Just wow...travelled 18 miles to visit this place because of reviews and boy did it not disappoint. Service was A+, authenticity A+. you will not be disappointed. the pictures of set menu was what we went for 2 people and was enough for 4. The staff were more than happy to package the remaining for us.

This is my favourite Thai restaurant. It's fantastic. Always a great service. I thoroughly recommend number 29 on the menu. It's delicious.

By staying true to their culture, as opposed to catering for the local palate, this restaurant has created the most authentic Thai dining experience I have come across in the UK. The quality and intricacy of the dishes combined with a refreshingly customer focused service sets this place apart from the rest. I can’t recommend Thai Chef enough.

Ordered a takeaway from thai cuisine last night. Ive eaten in many different places and I have to say this is without doubt cooked with care and attention. Far superior to the chain lemongrass. You can tell straight away from the flavours that this is special.

We were lucky we booked early and booked a meal early in the evening. Love this restaurant and always made extremely welcome. The superb food and atmosphere make an evening here very relaxing and one of our favourite eating places.

Tonight was the first time we had tried this Thai restaurant and we were absolutely blown away. Obviously with Covid we had to collect but their service was so kind, and prompt. Every dish was so delicious and full of flavour especially the squid and mixed veg. We can’t wait for restrictions to be lifted so that we can sit in and enjoy a meal with them. Highly recommended for anyone that loves Thai food.

We moved to Billingshurst in March of 2020, and we finally tried The Chef Thai for a takeaway January 6th 2021. We shared the mixed stater appetisers, I had The Beef Pad Siew, and my fiancée has the Prawn Pad Thai. The starters and mains were simply amazing. Very tasty and very fresh and authentic. Could not fault anything. Very fast takeaway service as well and the prices are very reasonable. This is an instant favourite and we cannot wait until we can eat in the lovely little restaurant once the lockdown is over. If you haven’t tried this place yet, definitely try! You’ll love it! 5 Stars.

The restaurant is run as a family business and you can easily see that in the way that Tony(the chef and owner) is greeting all his guest! In his restaurant you are not a customer, you are a friend! About the food...i dont even have words to describe. Sweet spicy and even dishes on request! Visiting this place you will have the best thai experience ever! Thank you Chef Tony!

I visited the restaurant with friends and it was the best experience. Tony and team were lovely and I think it's important to say that our temperatures were checked on arrival, we had to wear masks when leaving the table and social distancing was observed and maintained at all times. The staff were friendly and the food was absolutely delicious and I will definately be going back to try more dishes.

Tony and his team had supported a care home in Crawley during the first Covid outbreak and had kindly cooked for the staff a wonderful meal . To support his business we visited last week for another magnificent meal . Food was piping hot and very very tasty with all the delights that Thai food brings . With one of our party gluten free he ensured that her food was tasty and pointed out which was GF as we had a range of dishes . The tables were socially distanced and the staff wore masks to ensure our safety . Our phone numbers were taken for track and trace and I'm very surprised at the previous comments . I will certainly be returning in fact have booked for next week ! Wonderful restaurant .

Absalutely exquisite and amazing to eat at if you want eggs on toast. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Thats what I say about this amazing food.

Social distancing...... well I think this restaurant needs to learn the meaning of the word! The tables were far too close together, every single table was being used, no tables had been taken out and it was just like before Covid. We waiting an hour for our meal as all the takeaways were given priority over us and people were coming into the restaurant to get the takeaways. When the meal finally turned up, I have to say it was there usual standard. I will not be returning to the restaurant until they have sorted there standards out, there is no way this restaurant is abiding by the rules and almost needs reporting.

Always great food from here. I go time and again and the quality never decreases. The staff are super friendly and you will always have a great time.

Hands down, THE best Thai restaurant I have ever been to. The food is always on point, the specials are amazing. I have never had flavours like it from any other so called Thai. If I could I would eat this every day. The staff here are so personable, you are treated like family every time you come in, always a warm smile and a happy greeting. Always plenty of customers in this restaurant but never too crowded which goes to show how well they run the place and how good they make their experience. Wherever you live, you won't be disappointed travelling down here to have a meal. Try it now, thank me later.

We had a takeaway from here recently. Only a soup a main and Pad Tai. I have never had to throw food in the bin as it was inedible. I contacted the restaurant prior to writing this review to highlight what a shocking experience we had. If they could have been bothered to reply I may not have been so scathing. When the proprietors can’t be bothered to respond. Says it all. Tom Yum soup. So easy to make my little daughter could do a better job. Was full of lime leaves and inedible lemon grass. How hard is it to sieve the soup before serving. Not pleasant getting a mouthful of raw lemongrass. Now the worst. Pad Tai. Simple food. It was disgusting slimy noodles. They were irregular size so not cooked evenly. What ever was on top of the noodles was simply brown mush. It was thrown in the bin. Disappointing when I’ve forked out £30 for that S%#t. We have eaten in the restaurant quite a few times and not really been too impressed with the surly service and a bit of arrogance. Will go into Horsham ext time for a basic tai meal. At least Lemongrass won’t mess a simple meal up!!

Proper Thai food, packed with flavours. Prices are very reasonable. We always opt for take-away (especially these days!) and we haven't been able to fault this restaurant. Very friendly staff.

Takeaway service is quite busy so allow time for them to complete their order. But the food was ready exactly at the time they gave us. It really was very good, no criticism at all. You get 10% off for cash and their prices are very reasonable. Good food at a good price. Recommended.

This restaurant can be found near the Post Office in Jenger's Mead in Billingshurst. The food is good with a wide selection on the menu. My only criticism is that some of the portions served, could be a little more generous!

Excellent service, delicious food, good value two-course lunch with just the right size of menu (long enough to give plenty of choice, short enough so I don't think there's lots of waste). We liked the space with its high ceiling. Soup particularly good, and all the curries fragrant and distinct. Thank you.

I went for dinner here this evening with my friend & had a lovely meal until we went to pay for the meal. We were sat next to 2 females who had had been charged for a bottle of Rose they didn’t have & we overheard the conversation. Owner apologised for mistake & amended there bill. When we went to pay , I had noticed I had been over charged for my G&T & asked to look at the drinks menu. I advised the owner that why was this & that we had clearly heard what they tried to do with the ladies sat on the next table. Very disappointed as I have visiting this restaurant for sometime & I honestly don’t think I will return. A word of advice “ Check your bill before paying as this appears to be a regular occurrence. Really not impressed .
