Thai Basil in Horsham

Some of the best Thai food we have ever had!! Very friendly and efficient staff. The satay prawns were just so fresh and the subtle flavours in the Masson curry were perfect. Thank you

Stopped here for dinner tonight and must say the food was great. My wife had Singapore noodles with seafood and I had duck in red curry. All very flavoursome and fresh. Service was great and the staff very friendly. Meals were presented very quickly and were off a good serving size for us. If ever in Horsham I’d recommend Thai Basil as first choice for a meal.

This was our second visit to this restaurant, our last memorable visit was in 2017, and our dinner on Wednesday night confirmed how consistent the food and service is. Staff provide good service even when very busy, some patrons were going to the theatre and needed meals by a certain time, our meals came in an appropriate time frame. The food is consistently good, try angel prawns Thankyou, we'll return again next time we're in Horsham

Excellent. The food, the service, the flavours were all excellent. Best Thai I’ve eaten in such a long time. We were only in Horsham for one night but if we’d been there longer we would definitely have gone back to Thai Basil.

Travel to Horsham once every 4 months and it has now become a ritual to have my dinner at Thai Basil, the food is delicious and authentic, portions appropriate to the price and the best customer service, the two ladies working there are such a delight ever so friendly and polite.

We had take away from here and were extremely happy with the portion sizes, flavours and overall value of our meals. We often eat Thai food in Melbourne and it’s no exaggeration to say that Thai Basil is as good as many (and better than most) on delivering quality, flavoursome dishes with fresh ingredients, true to what you’d expect when you decide to eat Thai food. Congratulations to the crew at Thai Basil for changing our perception that ‘city people’ have the best choices when it comes to great food.

Wow! We were surprised to find such a great Thai restaurant on our way home from Melbourne. Great reception as soon as we walked in. Staff were friendly and helpful. The meals were absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back.

We came here on the recommendation of our Motel and it was absolutely fantastic food. There were about 8 vegan mains options which is so rare! I loved being actually able to choose, thank you! I had a delicious satay and hubby had a wonderful curry. The fried rice was amazing! The staff were so friendly and helpful. Thanks for the lovely night out! We most definitely will be coming here again on our way to Melbourne!

The service is very good and the ambience also super. The tables are well separated so you do not feel at risk of catching COVID . My husband had Pad Thai and he said that it was delicious. I had Pad See Eew, which was delicious. I have to be very careful of what I eat because I am fructose intolerant. We will go again if we happen to go to Horsham another time. I strongly recommend this restaurant.

We shared three main meals here. Nobody could pick which was their favourite! The food at this place was really delicious. Service also great, the waitress had to deal with my allergies and it was all no fuss. The meals arrived quite quickly, all hot...

We enjoyed a terrific Thai meal at Thai Basil. Curry puffs were a great sharing option followed by a prawn dish with a side of fired rice. Everything was delicious. Drinks were generous and modestly priced. Service was friendly and prompt.

Got honey duck take away ...not much duck and a container full of vegetables....if I ordered vegetables with duck I might have been happy ....would hate to eat in....not recommended

Difficult to deal with when they've made errors on your order. No replacement, no apology, puts the onus back on you. Last 2 times I've been there, my order has been wrong. Mistakes happen but the way you handled it twice has lost this customer...

At 7.20pm, apart from being 'greeted' at the door by a male who advised us in strong tones that the restaurant was closing at 8.30, the meals were very nice and the service provided by Lynn was excellent.

Our takeaway dinner for 3 people was fresh and tasty with plenty of food for everyone. Service efficient, despite a very busy Friday night. Easy parking in the street and next door to a takeaway liquor shop, so convenient all round. Recommended.

This is the second visit in 2 years to Thai Basil which was recommended to us the first tiime by a motel receptionist. The food both times was excellent.This time we had the homemade dim-sims as a starter followed by lemongrass prawns, and roasted duck curry. The flavours were wonderful and fresh.We certainly did not encounter “rude staff! On the contrary, the young waitresses and the management staff we were attended by were friendly and polite.

I'm sorry but this restaurant chef needs to eat out at more Thai restaurants. This is the second time I have ventured to sample the cuisine. Bitterly disappointed both times. I only went back as the reviews were good. Big mistake. The Thai red beef curry was a concoction of thin boot leather masquerading as beef, surrounded by a thin soup, with some vegetables. The rice was under cooked. To top it off, I was given the wrong order and had to wait while they corrected the error. I cannot understand the hype and high reviews. Won't be fooled again.

We found this restaurant through Trip Advisor recommendations and weren’t disappointed. The staff were friendly and polite. The food was magnificent - served quickly, and well presented. Their takeaway service was constantly busy the whole time we dined in.

At the beginning was quite disappointed after so many attempts trying to make a booking for dining in. Since it was the only Thai Restaurant and from reading the Reviews I couldn’t passed not to have Thai in Horsham. My partner was reluctant as we seemed to have Thai food everywhere we travel to.I reassure him he would not disappointed & he did love it & couldn’t stop complimented it. We did end up had it taken away with a 45 minutes waited but it worthed it all. They were very generous so we did had left over and decide to leave it in the fridge for the teenagers to eat them for late night supper on the night. However, it it didn’t happened & we accidentally leave it behind in the fridge has we were rushing to check out.I guess it means it will go in the trash... Highly recommended to try.

Any place that’s heaving on a Tuesday evening must be really good! Thai Basil was booked full but they were able to give us an early table at 6pm. The food was excellent - definitely lives up to the great reviews online. The queue for takeaway pickup was long and the phone rang continuously with new orders throughout our visit. Definitely recommend eating here if you’re in town. Make sure you call ahead and book a table.

Dinner there tonight, finally out of lockdown in Melbourne. Nicely decorated Thai restaurant in a country town, with lovely friendly staff. The money bags were the best I’ve ever had. Also Pad Thai with pork and Mussaman Curry with chicken (delicious) My husband also had black sticky rice with Thai custard, which disappeared very quickly. All really tasty. Highly recommended...

Me and one other on a business trip had this place recommended to us, we were not disappointed. The food was excellent, service pleasant and efficient and menu reasonably priced. Staff were all conscious of the covid restrictions and operated well.

We were lucky we went early (5.30) on a weeknight and were able to eat in, otherwise covid limits mean you should definitely book ahead. Friendly staff even though she was flat out for so early in the night. Pumpkin curry was something different and delicious. Fast service. Generous serving sizes too!

service was good, we had an enjoyable time with good value for money meals that were tasty and fresh. The wine list was miserable, so either BYO or have one of the asian beers available.

We enjoyed dinner here recently on a driving stopover from Melbourne to Adelaide. We shared curry puffs, followed by a chicken curry, a duck special and rice. All the food was served promptly, was authentic Thai cooking and tasted delicious. The restaurant was decorated in smart Thai style with well spaced tables and was not noisy. We’ll certainly be back next time we are passing through!

Arranged to meet two friends for dinner at Thai Basil. Because we would arrive later we had checked with staff and had been told as long as we ordered by 9pm we would be fine to dine as they close 9.30pm as per website and sign on door. I arrived at 8.45pm and was told by the waitress quite rudely and aggressively there were no reservations. There were three tables of diners and the rest vacant. Disappointed and dumbstruck at my rude treatment after a 30 minute drive l left. One of my friends arrived while l was outside Thai Basil pondering our options. We decided to try again and without actually saying the words the waitress rudely and aggressively told us to "p... off". Greatly embarrassed and disbelieving we left and decided to try Bonny and Clyde's Pizza while trying to contact our third guest. Fortunately B&C's obliged and we were seated when our third guest arrived and told us she too had an unpleasant experience with the waitress at Thai Basil. Thank you Bonny and Clyde's for a lovely meal provided by pleasant and friendly staff. I can only speak for myself but the experience with the waitress at Thai Basil was the worst l have ever encountered - beware the older blonde waitress!!! I would like to point out that my friends and l are all polite and gentle people - disappointed greatly shocked at our treatment. Doubt l will ever return to Thai Basil.

We got takeaway from here last night when we called through for the night to stay with family, we were so impressed, we all had a variety of dishes to share and all were great tasting and very fresh, just enough spice for fresh flavour with out being over bearing and burning the taste buds, thoroughly recommend- will be going back when next in town

This Restaurant , in my opinion. would be the best in Horsham. The food is just 10 stars. I could pick a favourite, yet there curries and spot on. Service is fantastic and somewhat fun. If you have never dined there your missing out.

Fantastic! Fresh and quick. I ordered the chicken satay take away. The sauce was gorgeous, plenty of steam veg. Great mid week meal when I was in town for business.

From a recommendation I visited Thai Basil to try the local Red and Green curry, I was Not disappointed, wow, what a taste delight!! Freshly cooked, generous servings, priced well. Restaurant was a littler noisy and not for an intimate setting, (I was there alone) but the food was sensational!!

Well I have eaten in thousands of restaurants and I can honestly say I have never been this cold. Everyone, obviously locals were wearing coats. It was the most unpleasant experience, there is no heating. Food great, lovely and clean service fine.

Quality food, really tasty and the first place I recommend for a meal out in Horsham. You can't go wrong.

Thai food is my favourite and I found this quite good. For me there was not the subtlety of flavour that I prefer to rate it higher. Also, It was a very cold night and the heating in the restaurant was not adequate so this also impacted on our visit.

Thai Basil is beyond a doubt the best Thai I’ve ever had!! Their money bags are amazing, as is the coconut rice. We usually get the Penang curry and phad Thai. Absolutely delicious!!

We ate dinner here with friends recently. This was our second visit and we are pleased to say it was just as good as the first time. The restaurant was very busy which is always a good sign. Service was friendly, attentive and efficient. Plenty of choice on the menu. The food was tender and tasty. The decor is basic but there is plenty of room and the restaurant is clean and tidy. If you are in Horsham try it out. You will not be disappointed.

This is a very nice Thai family owned restaurant with a good food menu, friendly service and a cosy atmosphere. There is a good selection of dishes for all different tastes and everything is prepared fresh. Would definitely go back.

Thai Basil was recommended to us by our hotel, and they were right the food was great. We ate on a Thursday evening and the restaurant was quite busy yet the service was still quick. A great place to eat

We had Thai spring rolls, chicken cashew nuts stir fry, beef ginger stir fry, and steamed jasmine rice. The food was delicious and plentiful. The restaurant is not licensed but you can bring your own alcoholic beverages ($2 per person corkage fee). There is a bottle shop right next to the restaurant, so it is very convenient. It was a busy night, but the staffs were very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the dinner here!

My wife and I turned up without a booking, and were lucky to get a table. The restaurant were clearly understaffed and not expecting a busy night, but they did their best. Food was delicious, and I can highly recommend having a meal here.

The food's okay but lacks the authentic zing - not just the spice but the true Thai taste. I have to say more to have this accepted but I've said it all.

This food really had some kick to it. It was likely made from scratch given I could see the spices in it, although this did result in a 40min wait for takeaway. The price is a tad expensive for takeaway, and they don’t put a huge amount of meat in there, but it is very good quality. I ordered jungle curry chicken and woooooow. Masuman lamb was also delish! Would recommend

I had the Panang fish curry with jasmine rice. Very good flavours and plenty of rice. I’d eat here again!

We checked out this restaurant and it was always full of people, always a good sign. The service was quick and the dishes we chose were tasty and very good value. It is handy next door to a discount liquor shop and does BYO.

We have been in Horsham for the week and were told by a local that we should indulge. Unfortunately they were closed for a few days and only reopened on our last day in town. We are so glad that we had the chance to grab some takeaway. The Lemongrass prawns, honey prawns and coconut rice were all absolutely delicious and beyond compare. Would gladly make the 3.5 hour trip again to eat hear. Fabulous!

The home made steamed dim sims were delicious, crunchy water chestnuts, with delicate pork flavours. We followed up with chicken pad Thai. The food was fresh, authentic and tasty. A very pleasant surprise for a country location.

I lived in Horsham for a few years and was a regular at this place for their Red Duck Curry - it's absolutely delicious, and I have never found any as good again since leaving the town. Whenever I visit, I make sure I find the time to get to Thai Basil.
