Giggling Squid in Horsham

Hadn't been before,but can recommend, food really good and staff polite and attentive without being overbearing,definitely will go again

We visited with 2 good friends for my husband’s birthday. We wanted chicken satay to start, they had run out (this happened the last time we came) and my red Thai chicken curry had 2 pieces of chicken in. Husbands birthday was not mentioned, despite the table next to us having a birthday! A complementary cheesecake was brought to the table as an apology, only to be charged for it when the bill came! We asked for another bottle of wine at 10pm only to be told the bar was closed. At 1015pm the lights came on full and the front door was opened, we felt very unwelcome. Would not return and would not recommend. Very disappointing.

Giggling Squid were happy to pull together a lovely take away birthday lunch for my 92 year old Dad today. Thank you for making the experience seem less.

I went there to eat on my own and discovered a real gem. I was well looked after by Natalie and the rest of the staff who were all lovely and friendly. Then there was the food. Wow, it was delicious, really really good. I had a brilliant cocktail to finish and left with a huge smile after a delightful experience.

We came to celebrate our son and daughter-in-law’s 15th wedding anniversary, 23 of us made up of friends and family. We knew the food would be great because it always is, but what we hadn’t expected was how well we were treated. We arrived early to decorate the tables but the staff had already done it for us. They had put up a lovely display of balloons and put out special napkins and confetti on the tables. We were all really impressed and it made a lovely evening very special. Thank you to all the staff.

I’m disappointed to say the least. I’ve loved giggling squid since they first opened their Horsham branch. I went for a lunch here today having come back for Christmas break and ordered pad thai for their quick lunch. The Pad thai arrived within 4 minutes of ordering which was a huge bonus until I took a bite of the chicken and it was raw. I mean bright pink and like it hadn’t even touched the pan. The waiter was very apologetic but considering I’ve spent the rest of my afternoon being ill… I would advise people to check their food.

We brought our friend with us over to Horsham for some shopping and where else would we choose to eat but The Giggling Squid. The last time we were here was in July so we felt we deserved the outing! Like normal, I booked a table to ensure that we wouldn't be disappointed, particularly bearing in mind it was the build-up to Christmas. I am pleased I did because the restaurant quickly filled up with hungry customers. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table. We all chose the special lunch tapas set menus and were very pleased with our choices, and enjoyed our prawn crackers with chilli dip whilst deciding. Everything was very tasty, beautifully presented and we didn't leave anything! Yet again we didn't have room for dessert but perhaps next time? Although the restaurant was very busy, the standard of food and service was still first class. Thanks to Moy (I hope I've spelt that correctly) for taking such good care of us. We hope to be back again in the summer to enjoy some more lovely food. Just one word of advice: it is definitely worth booking a table in advance in order to avoid disappointment as this restaurant gets very busy!

20 of us went for our work Christmas lunch. A warm welcome when we arrived, friendly and attentive service - regular checks if we needed more drinks was appreciated (and always with a smile!) But above all the food was delicious. The waitress was one step ahead too...taking the spreadsheet to the kitchen and naming the people when bringing out the food (who can remember what they've ordered especially after a few festive cocktails?!) And she made settling the bill as individual orders completely seamless. Fabulous experience, highly recommended!

Flying visit at GS Horsham. Arrived a little early but were promptly seated. Pork skewers are a must as well as green this curry! Jacob, our server, was efficient and explained in full about any food questions (we had from the menu). Busy restaurant with a warm and happy vibe throughout. Will return!

Really fresh, high quality ingredients and taste. I’ve been with friends and family multiple times and the food is consistently good across the entire menu. The restaurant itself is really bright, and the tables and chairs are a bit dated/wobbly but I’m being quite nitpicky there. Highly recommend.

I've been to this restaurant many times and would normally say it's reliable for a good lunch at reasonable prices. I loved the (short-lived) offshoot (lime squeezers) - however the Horsham giggling squid was disappointing recently. My chicken pad thai lacked the proper zingy taste. Also was not very hot (in temperature) - when will restaurants learn that plates should be pre-heated so the food is served properly warm? It's really very very simple. My wife's red curry was good, but sorry to say that I am no longer keen on Giggling Squid in Horsham, I think the staff must have completely changed. Other branches (e.g. Beaconsfield) are better.

A lovely birthday dinner for my grandmother, which is now our yearly tradition! The staff are so attentive and chatty, amazing food and service as always, and they sang happy birthday to my grandmother and gave her a free dessert! Thank you so much for a delightful evening, can’t wait to come back!!!

We booked a table for lunch and both had the set tapas mels and a bottle of wine . The meal was really good and i think you should get the manager from Miller and Carter to taste your hot wings .. The squid was cooked to perfection and also had a nice kick to it and the Chicken masaman was excellent too . My wife had chicken satay,thai green curry ,veg stir fry and rice which she enjoyed .The restaurant was full and the service was really got with intntive staff. Will be back soon

Finally managed to return to Horsham and this restaurant with our friend who used to live nearby. The last time we were at this restaurant was in October 2021 so long overdue! Just to be on the safe side, I had pre-booked our table. The lunchtime set tapas menu has changed since our last visit, so we took slightly longer than usual to make our choice. Whilst deciding we shared a portion of prawn crackers with chilli dip. My husband had the Feasting Set, our friend had the Royal Set and I had the Hawker Set. All of these were absolutely delicious, beautifully presented and just the right portion size. We were served by Julian who was very attentive but not intrusively so, and it was good to see the restaurant busy on a Thursday lunchtime. We all agreed that we will not leave it so long until we return to this restaurant to have some more delicious food. Thanks for a great lunchtime outing.

We visited this restaurant today for lunch, mainly to celebrate coming out of lockdown. We both chose the lunch tapas combo, very reasonably priced at under £12. It’s was absolutely delicious and really filled us up! I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you like to try something different.

What a treat, not been here before. The lunch menu was great value with perfect size portions and very reasonably priced. Visited here on a busy Friday night, having been recommended. The restaurant was crowded for a Friday and not exactly COVID compliant. Tables were not 2n apart and no temperature checks. The menu was varied and clearly described the heat factor on the choices. Opted for the squid - however no squid available which was odd as it’s the name of the restaurant and clearly we weren’t giggling - with no ink, choices changes so opted for the beer (no heat shown on the menu) dish was well presented and the beef cooked well however the accompanying curry sauce was on fire and completely ruined the meal, experience and my mouth for 24hrs.Restaurant was dirty and not up to standards of other food providing establishments Also very expensive- particularly the drinks Wouldn’t go again and wouldn’t recommend

Our second visit within a couple of months proved we had not been wrong to return. Covid measures clear and easily understood (with the staff wearing face covering, as they had been on the first visit when it wasn't strictly required). Cannot fault the service and extremely attentive staff. Food, as before, really tasty and interesting (Sea Bass parcel a particular favourite). Only downside; glasses of wine rather pricey for an establishment such as this. The fact that it was busy (unlike neighbouring restaurants) on a Monday night said a lot. Recommended.

Visited when the eat out to help scheme was running in August. The food was amazing (I have never been disappointed in a Giggling Squid!) and the Covid measures made us feel safe. Staff wearing masks, hand sanitiser and tables spaced.During ‘lockdown’ I had a couple of takeaways which were great food, and safely delivered contact-free by deliveroo.

Came here for a weekday lunch. Booked a table for four beforehand. Decided to come to Horsham as the Reigate branch had some mixed reviews. Food was good. Service was slow and pretty inattentive. Pad Thai (prawn and vegetable variety) were good, as were the garlic prawns and the morning glory vegetables. Salt and pepper squid was exceptional but very small portions (even by tapas standards). Thai green curry was also good. The jungle colada virgin cocktail totally hit the spot. Ordered the spicy Papaya salad which didn’t turn up which was a pity as would have liked to try it (I noticed when checking the bill). A little pricey at just over £100 for 4 with no alcohol or desserts. Benefited from ‘eat out to help out’ so bill came to £60. Thanks Rishi! Will probably come back again.

We visited Giggling Squid yesterday for a family meal. The food was lovely : nice spicy prawn crackers, great salt & pepper squid, our 10 year old loved the pork skewers and the papaya salad was refreshing. The restaurant was busy but the food came out in a timely fashion and the service was prompt. £78 for a meal for 3 is on the pricey side but it was worth it. Definitely worth a visit.
