The Cheesecake Shop in Charnwood

This place has clearly changed hands it was called the cheesecake shop however this is our first visit since lockdown, they have given it a new look, the cakes all look as good as they did in the past but the sit down menu is very limited , the chowder is now just a very bland chicken and veg soup, the nice bread is no more, it’s really just a cake shop now.

Like taking my book and sitting on the sofa with a teapot.. nice choices with still their fantastic cheesecakes ! Lots of well spaced tables.

We have been into the shop and since the lockdown had delivery’s of this amazing cheesecake. I would like to add that I only have cheesecake for my afters so am well experienced at tasting them far and wide. Up to date these are the best

Great cafe with good coffee and cake . Had a really nice refurb last week and new menu too with some extra things . Looks great and staff very friendly.

I went there anticipating really good cheesecakes and was very disappointing. There was a reasonable selection but it was obvious the cakes had been made in a factory, some had even dried out and started cracking . I did not buy any

went in for there free sample cheesecakes and they were delicious , very thick and filling but very yummy , im a big cheese cake fan and I will defo be going back again. there display was fantastic so many traditional cheesecakes aswell as personalised ones and the prices for them are amazing for the size you get, they even sell quarter cheesecakes too that you can take away at a very good price aswell. the reason I marked it down 1 is because it was quit cramped in there and not alot of room to move when its very busy wich it normally is when I walk past so if your taking younger kids I wouldnt bring a pushchair just in case you cant get in.

Excellent service here, second to none... lovely coffee, especially americano with cream!! Cakes and cheesecakes are delicious and available in all size portions from a whole one to an individual one!

Oh my! Do not judge this shop by its exterior as it does it no justice. The exterior is garish and uninviting YET inside you enter the most delectable cheesecake, cake experience ever! The choice of cheesecake, other types of cake is fabulous. The taste is unbelievable. The coffee is awesome. The staff are SO SO nice, helpful and a service with a smile. Absolutely LOVED this place and would urge you to go when in the area - we actually were going elsewhere but thought we’d divert to try it - and boy we are so glad we did .

Go pretty often to this cafe as local, cheap, excellent coffee, great service. Also use it for special occasion cakes which are the best if catering for larger numbers-had a great carrot cake for birthday party!

I was taking my granddaughter ages two on asanta steam train special and we had eaten at this place before. We rocked up And the two staff were amazing busy but the had time for us. I have an egg allergy - no trouble. I wish I lived nearer. Fab!

We have been coming here for the past few years, mostly for breakfast and coffee. Every visit has been consistently good. The coffee is mild and the food is tasty and well presented. The staff are extremely friendly and professional and the toilets are always clean. Great place !!

Looking for a coffee shop, came across this place. I love cheesecake and there was an amazing choice, available in slices, quarters, halves and whole cheesecakes. Also a range of other patisserie. It all looked delicious. I opted for toffee apple baked cheesecake - one of the slightly different options, though there are more traditional options too. It was beautifully presented and really good value. I wish this was nearer where I live, however it if was I would probably have a lot less money and carry more weight!

Cakes and cheesecakes to die for and reasonably priced....as a regular customer the staff are very friendly and attentive.... a must try!

We didn't repeat in the cafe. We chose to buy half a cheesecake and take it back to our b&b. I am rather fussy when it comes to buying desserts (I like home cooked desserts and hate the synthetic taste which some bought desserts have). But this cheesecake was amazing! So light and creamy. We went back the next day to buy more to take home with us. We had the blueberry cheesecake.

Whenever we are in the area we always pick up cheesecake from this place and have friends and family that ask us to take some back for. Incredible selection and if you like cheesecake then this place is your Mecca!

El café estaba lleno cuando llegamos, pero que estaba bien, sólo queríamos una llevar hoy. Elegimos la tarta de limón y su fuerte sólo £6. 60 para la mitad de una tarta. . 4. Es suficiente para que la gente tenga una porción. Es puesto en una caja y te dan una gran bolsa que mantiene la caja portadora plana. Tan pronto como llegué a casa tuve que probarlo y es delicioso. Fresca, fuerte y no puedo esperar para mi postre después de la cena esta noche! regalo ! !

Came here with a friend to enjoy one of the many tasty varieties of cheesecake. The cheesecake did not disappoint, however the café itself has little atmosphere.

Esta joya de la cafetería se encuentra en el centro de Loughborough, cerca del Ayuntamiento y Cine Odeon. Gran Café es acompañado por una abrumadora selección de tortas, gateaux y mudcakes. Todo ello muy bien con fruta fresca y con coulis. Algunas personas parecen tener un buen almuerzo aquí, pero nunca he sido capaz de pasar el desierto. Sin duda un lugar para comer su comida posible.

El personal es siempre amable y acogedor en este café - las bebidas son muy razonables y los pasteles y tortas tienen una excelente relación calidad-precio. También puedes comprar un pedazo, el barrio, la mitad o toda la tarta que son el tamaño perfecto para las fiestas. Desayunos y sopa y muy buena también!

En realidad bastante sabroso! Los pasteles son frescos y deliciosos. Además, las comidas son agradables y el desayuno abundante! Sin embargo, me di cuenta de que el descanso es bueno para quizás 4 o 5 en algunos lugares, pero si vas con más gente (5 plus) es un problema porque no hay espacio suficiente para sentarse, a menos que si están dispuestos a ser separado de su grupo para el resto de su tiempo para comer allí. Por desgracia, el precio de los pasteles es muy, muy alto para la Parte que reciba. En mi opinión, este es el único problema importante que debe ser resuelto a través de precios más baratos porque nadie realmente quiere pagar unas pocas libras para una porción de tarta cuando puedes comprar un pastel para toda menos del supermercado local. Si este problema fue incluso atención inmediata y solucionado, habría casi nada negativo que decir acerca de esta maravilla que es el cheesecake de compras.

He estado aquí un par de veces con mis padres y la comida y el servicio son excelentes, hoy no había aceptación.

Preciosa Tarta de fresa. Suficiente para al menos 10 personas. Altamente recomendado como alternativa a un pastel de cumpleaños.

He estado varias veces y tenía el desierto platos así que siempre puede probar un pastel diferente o cheesecake y todavía no han sido decepcionados, volveremos pronto!

El menú puede parecer caro, pero su obtiene valor por su dinero! ! Recomiendo visitar con los amigos en un día que tienes tiempo para sentarse y conversar

The soup is amazing ! Staff always polite & friendly Food is always so nice ..and a great menu ...situated at the end of the market place within walking distance .. Would be hard to beat the prices

Still a great cafe for delicious cakes and cheesecakes in single portions, and quarter, half or full cakes to take out. Really good hot drinks with amaretti on th side and really good service-what's not to love!

Went there for a couples lunch, very friendly staff, food was delicious and reasonably priced. We will be calling in next time we are in town.

On Thursday I Went to buy Blueberry cheesecake. It was for Friday as a part of Birthday celebration and I was sold broken cake. It was too late to complain as did not notice until Friday and did not have time to go to the shop as we were going to another town. We had to buy another cake as a result of this. I found the staff more on money oriented rather then customer focused.As being the regular customer at the shop we are really disappointed on the kind of service provided.

Value for money, Excellent choice of cake and cheesecake to have with a morning coffee. Friendly helpful staff on our first visit. Will be returning soon.

i love this place go all the time it was my favourite place to eat well that was until our last visit. I always have the full breakfast as you always got lots of egg and bacon, but sadly on our last visit the plates had got smaller, the amount of food on the plate was smaller I do understand cut backs but it has put me off visiting again for the breakfasts. the cheesecakes still are amazing though....

My partner visited today with a person she was caring for.My partner is highly allergic to strawberries. Nowhere was it shown that the cheesecake she order would come with a strawberry garnish & red berry coulis.When she told staff she could not eat it because of the strawberry on the plate, the staff did no more than lift the cake into a clean plate. NOT GOOD ENOUGH.She had to leave the cake as no alternative was offered.Had she eaten it staff would have had to deal with her in anaphylactic shock on the floor with paramedics in attendance.Customer care / service - I don't think it's even close

My brother who has learning difficulties loves this place and cannot visit without going for a cake here :-)

Stumbles across this place, the range of cheesecakes was amazing. Plumped for the double decker chocolate one. Really nice flavour, not like the usual run of the mill ones. Staff friendly. Smoothies are really good too.

Lovely little shop, my favourite bit about it is that you can buy either a large whole cheesecake in many different flavours or in the little fridge they have cut them up and you can just buy a personalised one slice piece to eat on the go or to take home! I did have breakfast in there once though, scrambled egg and toast and it was pretty awful, cold over done toast and milk based rubbery eggs probably done in the microwave. Just stick to the cheesecake guys ;)

Well located for a stop during a town shopping trip or when bumping into friends. Reasonable range of drinks (e.g. smoothies) but some missing (e.g. decaf coffee). Friendly and an easy to place to be alone or in a larger group.

Been here a few times, amazing selection of cakes and cheesecakes and they even have an eggless selection you just need to ask! Amazing place for a cheeky coffee and cake. Staff are always friendly and polite. Would recommend!

A nice and clean, albeit rather basic, cafe with a massive selection of cheesecake and other desserts. Good food, nice staff but don't visit if you're on a diet!

My daughter has a dairy intolerance, which limits what she can eat- a total pain but most places offer at least a few dairy free options. We were visiting the area with family, so there would have been 4 adults eating in, and take-away for 2 others. There is a huge selection of cheesecake - which of course you would expect. However I could see no allergy signs anywhere, and the products like meringue that would have been dairy free were covered in chocolate. So we waited in line, and eventually when it came to our turn to be served, I asked if there was any dairy free cheesecake. The young lady behind the counter looked at me like I was trying to rob a bank and replied 'no, no.'Okay so I appreciate it is a cheesecake shop and I would expect the majority of the menu to be unsuitable. But to not have 1 thing suitable I thought was a little unreasonable, considering there are dozens of dairy free cheesecake recipes on the internet. However, to not even add a 'sorry' to the blunt 'no' was just rude. Such a shame as the cake all looked amazing and you lost a decent sale.** please note that the review is on service alone, as we didn't eat, so ignore the average food and value ratings.

We have been past this place many a times and decided today to pop in for some take away cheesecake as my partner loves cheesecake! All I can say is that it really didn't taste nice and even my partner couldn't eat it and he will eat most things even if he isn't keen. We will not to returning. The staff member who served us wasn't very helpful either as we were asking if they contained oranges as my partner is allergic and she clearly did not understand us as she just kept on saying no theses are to take out! Not great when you are asking a serious question

We popped over to Loughborough for a nosey round, and decided to have a coffee.I spotted this little gem of a place and we loved it. The snacks were delicious and freshly made and the coffee I had was the best I've had anywhere I can highly recommend The Cheesecake shop to everyone.I wish the snacks and savoury menu was a little bigger.We left with half a Tiramisu cake and a quarter of a delicious cheesecake too

My mum and I stopped in for a bit of lunch after walking around all day. Everywhere else seemed busy so we stopped here as there were no queues. We had a panini each, both made very well and exactly like we asked with a small side of salad and crisps. Our drinks, a cappuccino and a hot chocolate, were also very nice. I also had a slice of cheesecake to take away. I later had some of this and it was delicious. I saw in the cafe that if you order cheesecake you also a side of fruit salad which looks lovely. I would definitely return and recommend to everyone.

If we're in town we always nip in and buy a slice of cheese cake to take away. Staff are always friendly and heplful and prices are decent.

If you like cheese cake you HAVE to go here! The cheese cakes are fabulous, my personal favorite is the Xmas cake one...they should be selling them soon, great alternative to the traditional Xmas cake...

Friendly little cafe with sweet and savoury dishes well presented and served with a smile, or some tasty cheesecake in a quarter, half or full cake. If you really want to go for it you can order a slab of about 60 servings. They are all made in colwick, where there's another shop, but that's a bit weird because it's quite industrial around there. This one in carrington is handy for being local and the car park is free and round the back.

For me it is all about the baked cheesecakes. In my opinion this will be like a MARMITE either you will LOVE them or hate them. Personally I love how the middle area is like a moose type layer. My personal favourites include strawberry, passion and the one with chocolate moose (forgot the name!). I think they are reasonably priced if buying the whole cake to take away as the price is cheaper the more you buy. It is a shame that the store could do with being a bit more bigger.

Have always loved their cheesecakes, but this is the first time we stopped and had something to eat. We ordered a panini and a quiche with two coffees and was not disappointed. The presentation and taste of the food was exactly as described. Would recommend and will be going back again next time we are in Loughborough.

My daughter is at University in Loughborough and she took me to this cake café as she knows I love cakes. wow saw many cakes to choice from pity this place is not Bigger with more tables and chairs. but we were lucky to get a place to seat. you Go up and choice and they bring it to your table.They do other food but the main thing is there delicious cakes.And you can have a cold drink or hot drink there.Yum, Yum as you see in the picture. get there early and enjoy first class taste.If your in Loughborough you got to try them.Can not wait to go back mainly to see my Daughter but can do both now.

Had to pop over to Nottingham for some business and was recommended this nice little placeThe cheesecake itself tasted very nice, very soft and creamy - I was a little confused by the owners who I had a weird way of pricing the cakes depending on whether you eat in or out. It turns out, if you eat in, you get half the normal portion of cheesecake, but pay for the full portion you would get if you took it out!Anyway, the mango smootie was great, so will probably pop in for a take away cheesecake, next time I am in Nottingham!
