Great simple food, both the beef/chicken burgers were very tasty. Great friendly staff as well. Don't let the exterior put you off. It is popular for tea's and coffees and the large cakes.

Nipped in today for my lunch and ordered a tuna mayo panini you’d think that would be extremely easy and straightforward to make surly ? Apparently not! Got it and was absolutely disgusting! It had bright orange sauce in it ?? What mayo is this Chernobyl mayo? The tuna was brown/yellowish literally tane a bite and threw it away! Waste of time & money!! Utter joke of a place.

The Cheery Cup and Saucer in Ardrossan has always been my favourite place to stop before a ferry trip to Arran! Visiting this lovely little cafe over the past 10 years has been an absolute delight, with such friendly and quick service and high quality freshly cooked food from the lovely ladies at the this cafe. We highly recommend this lovely place, and a perfect stop before or after the ferry to Arran!

It’s okay to pop in for a small bite to eat but don’t expect much the menu isn’t very exciting and the food is extremely basic I had chips and gravy and the gravy got heat up in the microwave and was as thick as tar. I definitely would not go out my way to go in for something to eat.

The Cheery Cup is an old school British style cafe serving old school British chips with stuff and other Scottish favourites. I stopped here for lunch break while doing the local heritage trail. It’s not a particularly modern decor, but the service was more than friendly and welcoming enough. For food I ordered chips with curry sauce and a regular latte. First time I’ve had the former in decades and it tasted amazing. The chips were crisp, generous helping of sauce to the whole bowl, but not enough to turn the chips into mush, so kudos for that. The latte was similar to the stuff made by baristas and again I’ve got no complaints about the coffee. The cafe and staff were adhering to the cleaning and social distancing rules, so another round of applause for that. I don’t worry so much about the decor, but the taste of the food was great. This place is not fine dining and I set my expectations at that level.

The food is good value for money with a Ok range to choose from the cafe itself does need a good refurb it’s definitely not the nicest I’ve seen it’s very dated! ive yet too see every light with a working light bulb in it .... they have around 6 lights on the ceiling and about 3/4 work every time I’m in I noticed but the staff don’t seem to. But ok for a quick bite to eat now and then but wouldn’t go out my way to go in.

Good food and drink and friendly service. Not the cheapest bar but good enough of it's kind. Enjoyed the Haggis and Tatties.

The Cheery Cup is a basic, tearoom and cafe catering for the passerby and local businesses for breakfasts and lunch. The menu is very varied with all items made on the premises. The take away side of the business is always busy at lunchtime serving the local business staff.

Opened back in 1982, the cheery cup has been a thriving successful business. It`s a cafe , sit in @ fast food take away, with plenty of amicable staff on call. It`s open 7 days p.w. closes early Sat @ Sun, currently at 3 pm. Specialitys, breakfast , lunch , dinner , coffee , home-made soup, alfrescos, tuna salad, ice-cream. The food is of high quality, although some products are a little expensive. Ideal location for people traveling over to Arran.

This place is dire , staff were very unfriendly , fish and chips bad beyond belief , extremely small over done fillet almost inedible chips stank of stale fat , coldslaw saved it , it needs a good clean , these type of greasy spoon give ardrossan a bad name , and are synonymous with a run down town on its last legs

the cheery cup is the kind of place id meet my gran. this is not a negative thing considering im only 18. its a bit dark and the room could really use some lighting. the place could use a bit of a revamp too. i had a bit of a problem as the vegetarian lasagna i ordered wasn't available. its not difficult to cater for a vegetarian and i felt the few options weren't exciting. the menu is quite short. the staff were nice when they served. hope this place gets their systems a bit more tighter, maybe then il come back.

Spotted this when we were visiting this area, from outside it looks tiny but its very large inside, its suppose to be the cheery cup but the staff don't look that cheery the women with the blonde hair seem to be the only one happy. 3 members of staff 2 doing cooking and one who really should mind how she talks to customers, The place looks clean and tidy we ordered food and the chocolate was far to warm but no extra milk on the table. When asked what ice cream drink you want and then say you want orange we asked for strawberry and was told theres none, advertisement for whats on offer should be placed up

Excellent fish and chips with the lightest crunchiest batter and juicy succulent fish. As a female solo visitor (walking Ayrshire Coastal Path) I enjoyed the relaxing room upstairs and the staff were ultra friendly.

So went to pick up new Glasses today and as I was straight after work early shift was hungry . A Piri Piri place in mall Called Black Rooster ( yea crazy a chicken place ). It had advertised “ Vegetarian “ menu. Corn burger Paneer wrap Halloumi burger All of these. £4.50. With a variety of “ sauce” flavours . I had decided on the “ corn burger 🍔” Oh sorry we’ve “ phased “ those out . Puzzled look on my face … Ok I no would like the Halloumi Burger. Ahhh ok. With what sauce and do you want lettuce and Mayo Yes please Said I. I really want you to enjoy this I will have the Spicey BBQ please and make that a meal thanks that will be £7.50 Now at this point I sat more in Hope than confidence that this wasn’t a hooge mistake . Sadly it turned out my initial feelings were founded. This mess is what turned up . When is a burger not a burger !! I spoke to a staff member explaining my confusion. Oh we’ve “ phased out the Halloumi burgers” and we now only use the halloumi sticks !!! What would you like to do ? The manager should have explained this when she took your order. I’m sorry if she didn’t . Please just refund me. Thank you. So the moral in the Tale . If it’s a Chicken shop . No matter how “ cool and on trend they want to be seen as having vegetarian options. They will most likely still be a piri piri chicken shop that wants to be Nando’s but still fail with even the basics. 🤮
