Wow! It’s hard to put into words how incredible Oli’s (+ Luke and his huge team) into creating the most spectacular 30th birthday. The service, the food and literally every single moment was perfect! I hired the terrace bar and it was genuinely the most wonderful place and evening and my 60+ guests were so happy! Thank you so much team!

We chose Chapel Bar as the venue for our wedding dinner, and it was a fantastic decision. The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and supportive, which was crucial for us given the usual stresses of planning a wedding. We are particularly grateful to Luke, Oli, and the entire Chapel Bar crew for ensuring our big day was seamlessly wonderful. My friend and I booked out Chapel Bar for our birthday for 100+ guests. From the first day, Luke and his team were amazing - all extremely friendly, efficient communicators and helpful with every detail of the planning. We had a great night!

Late review - A huge thank you to all the staff at The Chapel. We had our Office Christmas Party Dec 2023 with 80 plus guests.The location, food, laid back vibe and 2am license with a DJ (that got even the most most shy person in the office dancing) meant it was a great evening. Only minor complaints are the tables, which had an awkward bar underneath, so some of the guests were slightly uncomfortable.

We hired Chapel bar for a corporate event at christmas. Everything was fantastic! The team on the day were welcoming, professional and also did everything they could to make the experience a good one. I would 100% recommend Chapel Bar for an event, great location, looked amazing. Thank you so much for making my daughter’s birthday such a special night. All communication leading up to the event was perfectly managed and handled by Luke and we felt in very safe hands. The Chapel is decorated beautifully and looked divine! The staff know their stuff and were so chilled, fun and professional and truly looked after us all night! All our guests commented on what a ‘find’ the venue is - ‘This place is fantastic’ and the food was superb!! The dance floor is an added bonus and was filled with our 80+ guests well into the night! There is excellent sound and lighting that’s so well balanced you can ‘let loose’ on the dance floor or chat in the bar area and speak normally. It all added up to a truly brilliant night!! I can’t recommend this place highly enough! A fantastic venue, beautiful decor and atmosphere. The food is superb and the staff are brilliant! Added bonus of a dance floor!! Excellent sound and lighting that can be customised to whatever you want. So you can have plenty of volume in the dancing area but still chat normally in the bar area. Communication prior to the event is perfectly managed with lots of advice/suggestions if you need any help. These guys know what they’re doing! We had a brilliant night and I can’t thank them enough!!

Thanks so much for the most amazing Christmas party!! The organising was super smooth and easy, the venue was organised exactly how we expected with glitzy decor that went well with our theme. Plus the add ons of DJ and Magic mirror worked perfectly. Lastly Luke and his bar staff were all lovely and so easy to deal with adding in last minute requests so that we could personalise our experience for out staff! We will definitely be back!

Came in on Saturday night and was disgusted by how the bar staff were being treated. One young lady behind the bar in particular was receiving all sorts of abuse from her coworkers all night. Shouting at her and being utterly disrespectful. The young lady was nothing but polite, regardless of how busy it was it is unacceptable. From a customers stand point it is unprofessional and extremely unwelcoming. I would think twice before coming here, I certainly will not be returning.

Went there on a Saturday night, the place itself was beautiful but I saw a co-worker yelling at a bar maid and slamming stuff in front of her which wasn't appropriate at all in the slightest. I understand they might have been under pressure due to a Saturday night, but speaking to a fellow colleague in the matter was absolutely disgusting. Just for that I wouldn't be recommending this place to anyone!

I held my 30th birthday party in the Terrace Bar at Chapel Bar for around 50 guests. It was the perfect space for it! Exclusive use, dedicated bar and toilets, great size indoor space along with outdoor area. Although it was held early November on quite a wet and cold weekend, it was great to have the private outdoor covered and heated space for our guests to have the ability to go outside for some air. We arranged canapés for our guests which we were very pleased with and went down well. The bar staff were particularly great - really friendly and helpful and felt like they were guests enjoying the party too! Luke and the rest of the team were also helpful in the lead up to the event - I was able to have a viewing to check out the space prior to booking and also had a call in the week before the party to run through what we’d arranged and ask any questions. It all ran absolutely seamlessly and didn’t need to think about anything on the night and could just enjoy ourselves! Thank you Chapel Bar for a fantastic night :)

I hired Chapel Bar for my 30th Birthday and the whole team were absolutely brilliant from start to finish. The food, service, venue and recommended DJ were excellent. Would highly recommend.

Our TV Drama hired the upstairs & downstairs of the Chapel Bar for our Wrap Party, which was attended by roughly 150 guests. This was the 2nd Wrap Party I've arranged at the Chapel Bar - and it was even better than the first! The owner & staff were very helpful, and provided a great service throughout - including cooking & serving a large array of hot snacks to our many guests. This was the first time I have booked the entire venue out, and I would definitely look to book it as a whole venue again, as the upstairs terrace really is a fantastic hire if you have the numbers to justify taking the extra space. I can definitely recommend that Chapel Bar, and look forward to booking another Wrap Party there in the future.

We hired out the upstairs room and and terrace area for our dads surprise 70th birthday. Upon arrival staff were very helpful. They assisted us in terms of where we could hang our decorations, helping with music and connecting it and anything else we needed. Loved the terrace area and great as was a warm day so guests could go outside. Bar service amazing and staff were friendly and helpful even having a laugh and joke with us. Atmosphere was great and food lovely. All in all we all had an amazing time.

Our friends had their small wedding reception (70 people) here in September 2023. The private hire venue is lovely: Upstairs, with a wraparound terrace. Additionally, I love craft cocktails (London's Nightjar is my favorite bar) and Chapel Bar's bartender, Oli, makes some of the best cocktails I've ever had (specifically the espresso martini). He's also a lovely host and was very patient & kind to our group!

I attended an event here for a friends birthday and the service was horrible. The party host was asking for service to be improved multiple times and was ignored. We asked multiple times for the heating to be turned on and it wasn’t. I would not recommend at all. And to top it all off, the customer service team’s response to reviews on Google that they do not like has been horrendous. If you want your night ruined this is the place to be :)

I had a birthday party at chapel bar where I hired the terrace area. When booking the bar everyone seemed so nice and helpful. Every email o sent was responded to in a timely manner and various options were suggested. I was very cautious when they suggested I pay a £400 deposit that does not count towards the final spend due to prior experiences, but since Luke and the others that assisted me seemed so nice, I complied. On the day I was sadly disappointed that there was rude bartenders that caused me to ruin my night. Furthermore, I was not refunded the full amount as they assumed alcohol had been brought into the premises, even though it was empty when we arrived because we were at a prior event. I accepted part of the charge as the door had been broken during my event. After you have your event, they do not respond to messages or complaints as they have already gotten your money. Wouldn’t recommend for parties. Maybe a small gathering of up to 10 people. And especially not if you plan on going on till late as they have bartenders that “live 2 hours away and would like to get home” Thank you for responding to my review, only wish you would respond as fast to my emails :)

Went to The Chapel Bar to try their pop up, Katsu & Buns, and it was delicious! Service was excellent and thought the menu was very varied and different - lots of different items to try and all was very well presented. Stand out for me was the Katsu burger. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because the brownie was very dry - otherwise I couldn’t fault it.

We hired the terrace room & garden for my hen do and the venue and the team were absolutely fantastic on the lead up and on the day! They were able to fit all 22 of us on a table together on the terrace for the lunch and kept the drinks flowing constantly. The bar area has the perfect size dance floor & you can play your own music. Highly recommend!

I’ve just celebrated my 35th birthday at The Chapel Bar and it was amazing from start to finish. I ordered the canapés for my guests and we all absolutely loved the food! It went down really well rather than having a more traditional menu. The staff were excellent on the night, I didn’t have to worry about anything, they completely took over the arrangements and carried out everything exactly as I wanted. Attended a birthday celebration at Chapel Bar and sadly manager of bar was so unhospitable and obviously does not enjoy his job. Purchased two rounds of drinks and was told on ordering third round that a spirit drink we had previously purchased was not to be sold in bar, only to be sold in restaurant ??? We politely requested to for this to be remedied and manager would not help. Some hospitality training urgently needs to be put in place for this individual.

The venue is quite spacious for dancing and the garden is perfect to sit and chill but still be part of the celebration. Fantastic venue and an excellent team! We hired the saloon and dance floor for a big hen party! Luke and his team were very helpful and accommodating, The bar staff and the drinks, as well as the food (especially the lamb!!), were great! We enjoyed the music and dance floor until 2 am and used the screen to show some videos, it all came together very nicely, and everyone had an amazing night! Would definitely recommend it !

Had a private work party here. They staff are brilliant and accommodating. The finger food selection was fantastic! Definitely recommended for work do's. They do need abit of extra space sitting wise, but considering it was work do no one actually sat so kinda see that point of it.

Brilliant venue! I hired the terrace out for my 25th birthday and it was fabulous! The bar staff and manager (John) were so great on the night and everyone said how much they loved the venue. Even though the venue was clearly very busy in the build up to the event they are quick to respond so you are able to make all the arrangements you could want. Would highly recommend!

Vegan food very mediocre, long wait times, drinks are decent but you can find the same or better anywhere, and the dessert couldn’t even be called a dessert, it was a peeled pear with some coconut yoghurt and sauce on a plate. The risotto had too much pepper, the soup was the only good meal, even if it was a tad too spicy. Personally, I’m not coming here again.

I had a fantastic experience at The Chapel Bar for my Birthday. Leading up to the day couldn't be easier. It was a very easy process and once it came to the day everyone was welcomed and really enjoyed their time. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. The Terrace is definitely a bonus and we all enjoyed mixing it up inside and out. Great location and Great venue overall. Highly recommend anyone to book this place. Really worth it.

Initially I wasn’t sure what to think as I’ve never been to this venue before however the moment I initially spoke with Alex he was very pleasing to chat with, he understood exactly what I was looking for in terms of set up. All was sorted and I didn’t have to do much more. I had my sons christening celebrations here with friends and family. The venue itself was nice, spacious and clean. Alex and his staff was very accommodating and went above and beyond to help us decide what food and drinks to offer our guests. Booked Chapel bar for my wifes 40th based on previous reviews. From the start of organising the party with Luke to the party day itself everything was perfect. All the staff were super friendly and hard working on the evening, the food canapes were lush and the whole layout of the venue was perfect for my wife to have an amazing night with her friends. The Chapel Bar is a lovely size venue and well laid out. It was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The organisation was great, they sourced a karaoke machine for us and were flexible in the packages thy offered. They even allowed us to change dates after train strikes were announced. On the evening, the staff were fantastic. We had finger food which was ok. We really loved the atmosphere and would definitely return.

I had my 25th birthday party at The Chapel Bar, and it was the best possible birthday I could have imagined! I had booked out the 1st floor and terrace area which was very beautiful and perfect for me and my guests - a great balance between standing and seating space, with very pretty lights and plenty of room. They had a TV screen inside which allowed for me to have plenty of pictures up, which acted as a great buffer between guests who didn't know one another. My guests could not stop talking about how much of a fun time they had! They provided a fantastic sound system which could connect via bluetooth to our phones for our own music, and had given us the option of DJ decks and our own personal DJ. At midnight (when it turned to my birthday), staff allowed for ice fountain sparklers in a bucket of champagne, and ensured that everyone was inside for the celebratory moment! Their hospitality and ability to host a great event is unmatched. Ollie (the bar manager) was especially super helpful and did his utmost to meet every one of my requests! As for the booking process, Luke was incredibly helpful and informative about everything - and replied very promptly consistently. He made it very easy to organise with minimal stress/hassle - incredibly reliable. Usually there's always something that goes wrong or something that is unpleasant, but that certainly wasn't the case with The Chapel Bar. The team met (and exceeded) expectations from the point of first contact to the end of the party. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to have a fantastic evening/night!

We booked the upstairs Terrace Bar and outside area for a Bridal Shower/Hen Do. From the very start our booking was handled perfectly with very clear communication leading up the event and additional flexibility (allowing us to arrive early and decorate). We also had a Drag performer that required a mic and PA system and the team were fabulous at setting that up for us on the day. All our guests said the food was fantastic too. Very grateful to the team at Chapel Bar for making our event truly memorable.

The venue was amazing, perfect for the younger to have a dance inside and for the oldest to sit outside the terrace, the balance was amazing and I could not recommend the chapel bar enough!

The Terrace Room proved to be the perfect location for my birthday party for around 50 people. All my guests were stunned by the venue and the wonderful staff who were so efficient, friendly and happy. I chose to create three cocktails for the evening. All the ingredients were supplied exactly as requested and the fabulous Ollie was entertaining and absolutely brilliant at making them in what seemed like a never-ending supply. He also meticulously checked with me on everything, but also let the evening flow. What an asset he was along with his female assistant; a lovely lady from Slovenia. The kitchen staff worked wonders on supplying the canapes which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. The music was easy to set up and the terrace itself was perfect for a warm summer’s evening. Can’t recommend too highly everything about this place and Luke’s ability to deliver the goods. Brilliant.

We had our wedding anniversary party at the Chapel Bar, with around 70 guests. From making the booking up until the day of the party it was always easy to get in touch with Luke and he was really helpful answering lots of questions. Ollie, John and the rest of the team took great care of us on the night and everything went smoothly - we & all our guests loved the food. It's in such a great location as well only being a short walk from Angel (less than 5 mins). I wouldn't hesitate to have other parties at the Chapel Bar in the future!

We had our wedding reception here at the end of May and it was a fantastic space. The staff at the bar were so helpful and accommodating in advance, and on the evening itself they were exemplary in their jobs - with a great convivial attitude, which really helped to add to the atmosphere of the celebration! We couldn’t have been happier with our choice of venue.

We chose the Chapel Bar Terrace for our wedding reception as it was so close to Islington Town Hall and we couldn't have made a better decision. Dealing with Luke and Ollie was an absolute pleasure - flexible, friendly and just brilliant on the day with all our guests. Finding a venue that is genuinely LGBTQ+ inclusive venue isn't always easy but we felt so welcome all the way through the process and we would not hesitate to recommend The Chapel to anyone who is looking to celebrate something special. It's an OK place I guess, I was a bit shocked when the barman said they don't accept cash only cards. "We have to move with the times he said" This is the only bar in town that can only accept cards!!! Bit of an inconvenience for me and my friends Customers should have the choice Not sure we will return👎

The fantastic team at the Chapel Bar helped me plan the most perfect 40th Birthday party for my husband. With clear and timely communications from Luke to prepare for the event and Ollie on hand to make sure everything ran smoothly and to plan on the day, my husband had a wonderful and incredibly special birthday. He had an awesome time and our guests too with lots of compliments about the food being fantastic. I’ll definitely be recommending Luke and his team to others and be back for other events.

Luke and Ollie at the Chapel Bar totally saved my 25th birthday! I had been liaising with a popular venue on Liverpool Street for over 3 weeks and they totally led me on and left me with practically no time to find a new venue. Luke and Ollie were extremely helpful and advising on how to conduct the party in the best way and maximise the venue space. Everyone on the night loved Ollie and the other member of staff.
