Lovely place, attentive staff. Great food. Spotted it on a day visit so decided to go in and really glad we did! Would visit again!

Best coffee in Buxton and the foods great as well. We ended up going a few times over a long weekend in Buxton. Breakfast is magic, as are the staff.

Popped in for a coffee and a cake - which was great - read the lunch menu and made a booking for later in the day right away! Lunch was great, lovely flavours, good selection (Inc Vegan and Veggie). Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. We will be back.

Lovely decor and atmosphere, everything very bright and cheerful inside. The service too, was fantastic and the coffee good. My partner's food (the scrambled eggs and chaat) was absolutely fantastic! I had the 'If Indians did it' breakfast, which unfortunately was disappointing. Although it was a perfectly fine fry up, the only nod to making it Indian was a barely perceptible dusting of cumin on the fried potatoes and some garam masala in the Heinz baked beans. I had been hoping for something akin to Bombay potatoes, homemade curried baked beans and an explosion of flavours. Perhaps it's worth renaming the dish the standard 'full English'.

Popped into this place by chance lovely staff full of advice explaining the menu didn’t disappoint and was exactly as described . I had a breakfast the way an Indian would do it as titled was extremely tasty Full recommend this place plenty on the plate too

Very friendly and helpful staff and lovely food. Friendly and helpful throughout and even suggested places to go for a drink after we left.

We ordered 4 meals. We found the food to be very average. One meal was incredibly dry, one very spicy and the other 2 the presentation was awful. We definitely wouldn’t go back again. Felt like it was all being run by very young girls.

This is the first negative review I have ever written. We ordered drinks which arrived quickly, the waitress then took our food order. The food being taken past us smelt lovely and our hunger grew. We sat for 45 minutes and watched several other tables of customers arrive, order their food, eat and leave. Really didn’t want to be rude but in the end I asked the waitress who took our order if there was an ETA for the food. She looked baffled and asked ‘oh have you not had your food yet?’ then ‘Did I take your order’ and then just asked what we wanted stating she hadn’t ordered it last time. We explained how long we had been waiting and received a rather half arsed ‘you don’t have to pay for your drinks if you don’t want to’ (two soft drinks). We chose to leave as there was no apology or suggestion for how they could remedy the situation. Terrible service and a complete waste of an hour.

Absolutely fantastic place. We went for dinner in the evening, and the food was superb. We are vegan and the choices were great - we had a starter and main each and they were some of the best Indian dishes we've ever had. On top of this the service was exceptional, and as if that wasn't enough, the prices are good too. The Chakra Lounge has been a favourite of our first a number of years, both for breakfasts and lunches (of which there are good vegan choices). In fact, we travel about 90 minutes just to enjoy this place. I can't recommend it enough, if you are in Buxton make sure you pay it a visit, it will definitely be a pleasurable experience!

I had vegan four layered curry with rice and hand made naan....hotter than what I'm used to...but so tasty...I had pistachio green drink...gorgeous and then chai cold drink to calm the spice down. I got the tandoori chicken burger which was ok, except towards the end I noticed that part of the centre was pink (it wasnt seasoning) so i left the rest of it, it was a very thick chicken breast with garam masala seasoning on top- no char lines or anything so something i could of made at home. Also they used a normal barm/bap/cop (whatever you call it) as the bun which just turned soggy and disintegrated. My partner had a curry and i tasted some of it, it tasted like a supermarket curry- nothing special but not awful. The poppadums were homemade but were soaked in oil/grease. The chips were great though. I wouldn't return here or particularly recommend it.

Fabulous lunch. Good choice for vegans and meat eaters alike. We have visited a few times and always great food. Staff helpful and friendly.

This place ticks all the boxes - warm welcome, friendly and efficient staff, great food (from the brunch menu, we had English breakfast with an Indian influence - yummy!) It’s dog friendly too. Very happy!

Called for Sunday brunch. Lovely selection of Indian brunch options & drinks. Especially enjoyed the masala scrambled eggs. Enjoyed the cafe too it’s really quirky. Good prices - just got everything right. Well worth a visit!

Popped in for brunch, lovely venue, good food and a helpful team, able to alter all dishes to suit (a couple nearby asked for some tweaks to the standard dishes and were granted all assistance). The vegetarian breakfast with a masala twist was great as was the masala eggs Benedict.

Whilst on a day out in Bakewell my daughter in law recommended the Chakra Lounge for lunch. We had not booked but received a friendly welcome and were shown to a table in the window. My grandson was with us and loved playing with the toys, games and books that were available. The restaurant is a vegan and Indian cuisine. We had a variety of vegan drinks including a Tumeric latte that my son ordered and it was delicious. I asked for the Nachodums and this is a small dish and made of nachos in a chickpea salsa with onions, tomato, coriander chillis and smashed avocado. Wow it was lovely. All of us are enjoyed the food. We spent a lovely hour in there and can highly recommend it.

We are vegetarian - it is a brilliant menu, spoilt for choice. Would definitely recommend the Naan with Curry dish! Hope to revisit soon. Thank you.

Very busy, even a little after the lunchtime rush, but they found us a space. Really cool place, fantastic atmosphere, staff are fab, very helpful and knowledgeable about their food and menu. The dishes brought out looked so delicious and it tasted delicious too. I had the best milkshake ever, blueberry with crushed pomegranate on top, it tasted like heaven. My other half said his vegetarian dish was fragrant and subtle, but quite spicy as well. Beautifully cooked. In fact, everything was perfect, including my pancakes with fruit and ice cream. I am so glad we tried The Chakra Lounge and would definitely recommend eating here. What a find. Everything the reviews say and then some. Excellent.

So, after searching the streets of Buxton for something that resembled a decent Café, we saw this quirky and vibrant Café and liked their vision about supporting local suppliers of quality ingredients, so in we want. The lady that served us was really warm and helpful and we ordered 2 tumeric and ginger lattes with a shot of coffee on the side. Wow, what a fab combination and we had a blueberry scone each to satisfy our scone fetish. Both were amazing, and we couldn't say enough good things about this gorgeous cage. Buxton has a gem in The Chakara. Make the trip and effort to visit this lovely place

This is my third or forth visit, this place does some delicious drinks and food. I’ve had the tiffin previously and always have the rose and cardimon milkshake. Had the chilli cheese toastie which was a nice twist on a classic. Great attentive and friendly customer service. Pretty sure they’ll be a sixth visit.

How to make a visit to Buxton memorable! This small fronted cafe has a great atmosphere and fantastic welcoming staff. As the name suggests your not going to get run of the mill chips and burger but an indulgent menu full of spice and promise. From the array of teas we chose matcha and pistachio and a turmeric chia but we were spoilt and could of drank them all. Prices are very decent and match Costa prices. We both had The Bombay Benedict (chefs kiss) ...... so folks this is a definite must visit in Buxton. We will definitely be going again and again
