Been going for years and years … the last few years have been up and down and it needs new ideas as the last few managers always seem to fall back on music events and DJs that play reggae and drum and bass / garage / dancehall… this always brings the wrong people in.. always too much drugs and too much intimidation. Never any bands, love singers, theme nights … other genres of music for the event nights … it’s always reggae / bashment / dancehall… crying out for fresh less “gang” music

Popped in on the off chance on Saturday as I had never been there before as always looked a little unbecoming but how I was wrong. Although a stranger I was greeted with a welcoming smile from the staff and treated to a well kept pint in a clean and well kempt pub. Unlike faceless pubs who have managers as ghosts the manager who I believe was a lady was at hand to offer advice to customers and support to staff Keep up the good work thanks

What a turn around so far.. a real busy Friday on opening night. Music without an attitude problem finally !! Under new management thankfully. Locals seem optimistic. If management can keep control of the lads with man bags and control the car park which has long been an issue with drugs, they will reap the rewards. Perhaps installing a registration entry system with cctv would help issues or a membership based system .. or both ! New manager .. new life in one of the last pubs locally

The land lord seems to of ran out of ideas here and feels that repeating really loud reggae nights week after week is going to keep people coming in. Wrong. Regulars gave up months ago. Cracking pub when run right. Get rid of all the idiots outside with man bags, have theme nights like the labour club do rather than reggae every week, darts clubs pool team dominos team… and a decent chef !. Hats off to the staff that have been there years you know who you are

All good if your in need of cocaine fab sale in car park out the cars .... most Fri and Sat nites are the same....not the kind of place for kids

Just had a meal fish platter for 2 but ther was only enough for 1 the fish was over cooked more batter than fish but the wife had a steak and that was perfect ? I will go there again and hopefully I will have a better meal

Great pub with friendly staff, good food too. Nice atmosphere with some great shows on every now and then 🎸🎸. Live football 👌🏻👌🏻

Gutted they had no steak or Gammon but the fish and chips was amazing. Cooked to perfection. All other food ordered was all perfectly done 10/10. Staff very friendly and make you feel welcome. Great atmosphere for everyone. Taken name and number on arrival for track and trace. Thank you to the staff we had a lovely afternoon out. Will be returning again soon.

Food service is excellent and a good menu choice. Bar staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome. Although not published last orders for food is around 18.45

Recently refurbed, very nice calm decor, clean surrounds, staff friendly, food well presented, chips were particularly clean and crisp, good value for money. Also visited for evening meal on separate occasion, was not disappointed, same standards.

My husband and I have visited here a few times now for a meal and drinks. There are no negatives! The inside is comfortable and very clean. Toilets are lovely and modern and very clean. The food is fantastic! Enough to keep you full all day. We have always had sirloin steak. I'm always funny about ordering steak at a pub as it's hit and miss with how good the quality is. Never had a problem, always great tasting and cooked exactly as requested. We have taken our young daughter here too and it's fully equipped for families - kids menu and changing facilities with amazing activities of a bank holiday. Staff are so lovely, brilliant service and very friendly. I have recommended this pub to friends and family and nobody has ever had a bad word to say. Great place to go. We would certainly recommend without hesitation.
