A great place to eat and rest: nice people, nice food (the best fish&chips in London!) and it’s in front of San Paul’s. Don’t miss to try when in London.

We stopped here mid-walk over the weekend and was perfect with minimal tourists and plenty of space. We felt very safe despite Covid restrictions. Would highly recommend. It’s between the river and St. Paul’s cathedral.

I was killing time before the Andy Warhol exhibtion at the Tate Modern and want to sit down for a pint, however the pubs on Bankside were packed so I decided for some fresh air and a walk over the Millenium Bridge. I was the unassuming Centre Page and its claim of "the best fish and chips" in London, immediately thought tourist trap as it is a stone throw from St Pauls, however was only going for a pint. I scanned the Covid QR on the NHS App, sanitised my hand and was greeted ny the friendly waitress and took a seat at a table. I was shown the menu, and despite myself ordered a portion of chips as at £3.95 that's a reasobale price. My Bombadier pint was cool and creamy, and my chips followed which were proper chips, not fries, chunky, freshly cooked, fat crispy potato with a fluffy insides, and a generous portion. Ths pub is old, has character, there's a signed portrait of David Hasselhoff behind the bar, as the bar is on Knightrider Street, and the staff are friendly . It is a quiet haven aware from the Covid hoards just across the Millenium bridge on Bankside, extremely highly recommended.

Siamo entrati per caso in cerca di un posto dove pranzare. La cucina è la tipica del pub inglese con aggiunta di piatti di altri paesi. Buono e croccante il Fish & Chips, così come le patate al cartoccio e gli hamburger. Abbiamo apprezzato le lasagne c'è una piccola selzioni di piatti non inglesi, è facile trovare qualcosa che accontenti tutti. Il locale è in tipico stile inglese su due livelli, di cui uno interrato ma spazioso, pulito, abbiamo trovato i bagni un po' angusti.

Needed to have a bit of lunch and a drink and saw what just looked like a little pub tucked away not far from St Paul's Cathedral, what a good find it was too, quirky little pub/restaurant with a larger room upstairs. Lovely menu, quick service and tasty meals. We will definately visit there again.

Had lunch here- a last minute decision. Had the “special” - cottage pie- wonderful! A quirky pub with nooks and crannies and not modern in its decor but certainly wouldn’t fault the staff for service as well as the quality of the food and drink.

This is a good place for a quick break and fish & chips. I like the food, atmosphere and location. The staff is helpful. I will definitely come back here!

Bem típico inglês. Pedimos uma tábua com diversos petiscos empanados e veio bastante comida. A cerveja e o ambiente também não deixam a desejar.

세인트폴과 밀레니엄 브릿지 사이에 있 는 위치덕인지 사람은 좀 있는 편. 가격은 그냥 평범한 수준이고 맛도 평범한 수준이다. 특별히 어디갈지 모르겠다 싶을때 그냥 들어가 먹을만한 정도?

We happened by chance in this place and we didn't regret it. We tasted excellent fish and chips, the place is very characteristic, the staff is very kind, the service is quite fast. Very convenient, a stone's throw from St, Paul, we will definitely come back to London in the coming stays.

We stumbled upon this place coming up from the Millennial bridge. As we had a flat in the area we were hungry for some fish and chips, and once we figured out the advertised price was for takeaway (explained by a very helpful server), ordered several and they came with all the needed condiments and cutlery. While we would have wished the price on the menu was closer to the the take-away price, that was no big deal and the staff also didn't have a problem with us sitting in their chairs until the food arrived. The fish and chips were good, maybe nothing too special, but the boxes were completely eaten by adults and children alike. A very positive experience.

Stumbled across this pub after river taxi broke down. Had a few beers outside in sun, good spot just down from St. Paul’s. Surprised it wasn’t busy with the number of people passing by. Had meal, no kids menu but they enjoyed the pasta and burger. Food was good. Staff just not very friendly, which was a shame.

This is a smashing little pub right next to the front of St Paul's Cathedral. It does take away fish and chips as well as a good menu for lunchtime diners. The staff are extremely friendly and can't do enough for you. Definitely one to go back to.

We found the staff unhelpful and unfriendly. Once we managed to order our food the Sunday roasts arrived and they were very nice. But we had to wait over half an hour for our puddings once we had finished while a big group who had their meals after us were served their puddings straight away. We had to go to the bar to ask about our puddings and then wait again till eventually they brought one pudding and asked us if we wanted two spoons yet we had already paid for two puddings when we ordered our dinner. We were then brought another apple crumble with custard both of which were cold. When asking staff anything they were very unhelpful and never apologised for the bad customer service we received, they seemed to ignore us and rush around after the big group. Never again,if you want good customer service go somewhere else.

Var där med familjen och vi beställde fish and chips att ta med. Servicen och personalen är helt ok och det gick ganska fort. Men maten var totalt smaklös. Priset var dock väldigt bra i förhållande till andra ställen i London.

A good place to stop off on your travels for a warm environment and a some drinks.. Beer of course. I watch a waiter carry up some soup with the bread in his hand which puts me off a lil.

We found it by luck. Nice atmosphere with reasonable prices and the food was good. Nice pie and fish and chips. I found strange that the waitress inserted the size of the tip she wanted. Their cola are really small

Tutto buonissimo, ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo, staff cortese, ambiente molto carino e rapidi nel servire!

We went looking for a Sunday roast in the area of our Airbnb. And we were recommended this place. It wasn't awful. The atmosphere wasn't bad. Typical British pub on a Sunday afternoon. The gravy was tasty but the meat was one step above shoe leather. When we ordered the waiter was surprised that it was Sunday already. I guess most people don't get the roast. For good reason I suppose. Overall not bad but I'm sure there are better Sunday roasts to be had and I'm not happy we wasted our only Sunday in London here. Oh well.

Had lunch here of Ham, Egg and chips, food was good for the price, good selection of beers, staff very friendly.

Stopped in for a quick pint. The set up is what I expected quaint and pub decor. The service was fine. It could have been better because it wasn't overly busy, but there was only one person tending the bar. It is a good stop in place.

I went there after visiting St Paul’s Cathedral. A very traditional pub. I ordered fish and chips which were too dry and hard. Waitresses were cool with no smile.

This pub is an ideal stop for anyone, affordable food cooked to very high standard delivered to our table in matter of minutes. To top it the selection of beers is more than satisfactory, whether you enjoy your stauts, IPA, lagers or ciders you will easily find something you like and if you’re not sure you can always try. Overall pub in a great location in between St Paul’s and Tate modern and great atmosphere. If you remember Knight Rider and David Hasselhoff you must visit this place.

Es un pequeño pub con preciosas vistas a St Paul desde su miniterraza y que sirven un riquísimo fish& chips para llevarlo sacarlo a la terraza por un precio muy moderado. Tienen ketchup y una muy rica salsa tártaros, también se puede comer dentro. Merece la pena hacer una parada aquí.

Been here a few times; when my son is with me, or any other male, great service. Woman on own is seen as an opportunity for the not English barmaids to practice what they may believe is English style cool, or just plain venom, on any woman wanting service. Family from the area four centuries ago so like to do historic pubs there but not good here. Last week asked what was the house white; she said it was white or you can have pink or red instead. Asked again WHAT TYPE; she waved or maybe even brandished an almost empty bottle of white under my nose. OK brand so said ok but a new bottle please. She started to shake out the few drops and grit. Said a new bottle not dregs would be fine. Think she would have liked to attack me with the bottle but a male city type also waiting to be served so she gave in and sort of threw the glass at me.

Tourist London is short of places like this...not dissimilar to The Lord Moon of the Mall on Whitehall. A space not short on history that needs at bar with sensible prices and good food.

We are part of a 50- person tour group with EF tours. This was our first restaurant in London. After a long day of walking we were hot and tired. It was hard to enjoy the food with a hot and stuffy dining room. We were all served fish, chips and peas. Honestly, it could have been better. Water wasn’t cold. Overall, it was just so-so

Fui con algunos amigos en la tarde cuando el pub no estaba ocupado. La barwoman y (SUPONGO) un gerente del bar era tener una (ligera) argumentos sobre la factura. Tampoco hizo cualquier intento de reconocer nuestra llegada, y continuó su conversación por algún tiempo antes de finalmente nos servía. Con nuestras bebidas y se sentó en nuestra mesa, nos dijeron que la mesa que habíamos elegido era reservado aunque no había ninguna señal ni nada que decir. Tuvimos que cambiarnos a otra mesa.

I was on Sunday with my husband and we ordered fish and chips and Sunday meal. It was amazing. Also a new waitress was very polite and kind to us. I like this place. They always have delicious dishes and cheerful staff.

This place is a nice London pub. Nothing flashy about it but it is staffed by friendly and attentive staff who know the products well. Had a pleasant experience and enjoyed a few pints on the terrace st the front.

Estábamos desesperados por una bebida fría en un caluroso Domingo almuerzo así parado aquí. No podía creer lo tranquilo que era como un maremoto parecía estar reinando en la orilla sur. Sentado en una de las cabinas, tranquilidad, el lugar realmente parecía un oasis. Así que decidimos pedir el almuerzo también - 2 cigalas y patatas fritas, no esperaba mucho, pero el tamaño de la porción era perfecta y estaba caliente! Había muchas mesas libres y algunos fuera. No sé por qué el lugar estaba vacío, el gran 'pescado y chip', que es un poco hortera, normalmente nos desanime, pero en esta ocasión, como en eso tuvimos suerte, estábamos demasiado secas. Sin duda volveremos.

Chanced upon this restaurant before visiting St Paul’s cathedral. Right beside it towards the millennial bridge/knight rider street. I had the steak and Brie sandwich. Amazing!!!

A lively pub but sometimes too noisy. The food is tasty (I recommend the fish and chips) and the pies. Good beer and friendly service. A cheap option close to the city.

La peor comida de pub nunca. Que los lugares como este que dan comida británica su reputación horrible. Hamburguesa de pollo era más como una pepita de pollo frito en aceite rancio. Tarta de puerro pollo de mi amigo era demasiado gruesas y piezas estaban sin cocer. Ubicación le en muchos turistas que pueden explicar la falta de atención a la comida.

Visiting friends for the weekend,had a nice late lunch here,tortillas to start ,then calimari,both were lovely,then fish and chips with mushy peas,all in a nice meal with a bottle of Sauvignon blanc

This was not our planned evening venue. We had such a terrible experience at the Slug in Waterloo earlier this pub was chosen as my son-in-law recommended it as it is his city lunch time haunt. On the whole a good evening, our party's ages ranged from 3 to 63 and we were made to feel very welcome. Food was great pub grub and nothing seemed too much trouble. Our waiter in particular should be commended. A rare talent for smiling and distributing appropriate banter he worked so hard to make our visit a success. A great asset to the pub and at thoroughly nice chap.

They advertise that they have the best fish 'n chips in London. That must mean the City of London, rather than greater London. It was OK, hot, good chips, nice waitress, friendly ambiance - but more filled with North Americans and other visitors experiencing British fare than locals - which is probably a sign. That said, it was reasonably good fish and at a decent price - so if you want Fish 'n Chips in the city, good choice.

Conocí este pub hace muchos años y me gustó entonces. Me ha alegrado que siga en el mismo sitio y con el mismo estilo. Entre San Paul y el puente del milenio, es un sitio perfecto para una caña o un café.

The service wasn't too great. Our food order was messed up and not fixed even though it was promised. The burgers were good but not the best I had had. There are better options in better places.

Being located between St Pauls and the Millennium Bridge I sense that there is a lot of passing tourist trade, as otherwise they would have to make more effort on the food. Lunch of pie and veg. was very average (did not finish the mashed potatoes). Drinks menu was also pretty average. I'm not sure they get much local repeat business as there are many better places to eat. However, not too pricey for central London, relatively quiet (a giveaway in London), and service was fine.

Pleasant atmosphere. Take away fish and chips. Very good one. Fish was fresh. Not salty. You get salt with you in a small package. You get what you ordered almost immediately.

I don't eat fish. Having said that, I was at the Centre Page and the meal was fish and chips. I decided to try it, even though I dislike fish, and it was delicious. The batter was tasty, the fish was good, and nothing was greasy. One in our group was vegan, and they graciously accommodated her. Serve for a group of 80 was fast and competent. I'd eat here again and even order fish!!Big bar scene.

Very disappointed. Had the sausage and mash in Yorkshire pudding, unbelievably bland. It's this sort of food that used to give English food a bad name. Plus the beer was flat.

Very good location just near St Pauls. Its a pub that does food but being where it is in the city very good value. Polite and quick service. We enjoyed some real beer and a pleasant environment. The menus had lots of interesting facts on London on the back to keep you amused for a while.

A bit of an olde worlde pub not a restaurant, popular by the amount of people but wasn't that impressed. Ordered two blt sarnies but only one order right with the lettuce missing on one and the crisps served with them were tasteless. Drinks ok but eating space limited unless you went down the tight staircase. Best bit was the history on the back of the menu, very interesting and fun!!

Me and my two son`s visited London for the first time, and did a long walk along river Thames, two see some of the most well known attractions downtown London. We found that we was hungry and in need of food, we were set to try the famous fish and chips from London, and the sign outside this restaurant cough our attention. We found this restaurant to be busy, authentic and we did not regret going in. We had a nice meal, and was satisfied, we also found the place clean and even the toilets where tidy and well taken care of. We probably need to try the more down to earth version of fish and chips,.. served on the street in newspaper some other time. This restaurant is of good standard, but a bit expensive, to be expected maybe due to the location.

Non è stato possibile consumare il pasto in questo luogo perché la cameriera, sprovvista della minima professionalità, diciamo così, ha fatto di tutto per poterci mandare via. Ci ha vietato di sederci ad un tavolino prima e ci ha completamente ignorato dando la precedenza ad altri tavoli dopo. Quando ho domandato di poter scambiare due parole con il direttore ed il motivo di tanto astio non ha fatto altro che balbettare per qualche secondo. Coloro che non amano il loro lavoro dovrebbero semplicemente dare le dimissioni.

Visitei este restaurante quando estava visitando a Catedral de St Paul, a Tate Modern e City of London. Fica bem perto de todos. Entrei por acaso e gostei. Almoço emprego justo. Recomendo.

Visited here with a group of friends. Ordered fish and chips and went downstairs as space limited. Food arrived quite promptly; fish was OK but a bit too battered for my taste but the chips were not very good - I think they were made from frozen chips and weren't hot and crispy.Staff were polite.Would go again but would choose another dish.

Having heavy and tired feet we stopped here for lunch. It's a bit dated but looked comfy and the prices were reasonable. We seated ourselves and ordered the 'special' Sri Lankan Curry which was pretty good and two club sandwiches that weren't great. There was no children's menu so we had to order and pay adult prices for a child to eat. None of that would've mattered so much if we'd at least had a nice welcome and a smile from the staff. We didn't get either. And it wasn't very busy. All in all, it was ok. I wouldn't go again though.

Visited the pub over New Year after sightseeing early evening, found a table without any problem. When ordering food asked for childrens menu and was informed none available so had to pay full price for an adult meal for my 10 year old who did his best to finish it. The meals were plentiful and very nice.

We've been going to this pub for years, it holds a very special place in my heart. Haven't been in for a couple of years so made a point of going in between Christmas and new year. Still so cosy, nice staff, and decorated well but this visit felt something was amiss. The toilets were disgusting, no loo roll in the holders in either of the ladies cubicles, sanitary bins were overflowing, the toilet roll that was on the back of the tiled shelf behind the loo was damp and covered in black mouldy spots, on the whole needed a thorough deep clean and attention. We were going to eat in there but the state of the toilets made us wonder what was the kitchen like! Such a shame but still love the pub.

Ich habe Fish and Chips gegessen. Leider war der Fisch nicht wirklich frisch, sondern hat eher den Eindruck gemacht zum zweiten Mal aufgewärmt worden zu sein. Auch die Atmosphäre war nicht so gemütlich. An unserem Sitzplatz war es kalt, weil kalte Luft durch die Eingangstür reingezogen ist, obwohl der Platz mitten im Lokal war. Kann ich alles in allem nicht weiterempfehlen.

I always go to the Centre Page when I'm in London visiting my sister; its a real favourite of ours. Everything is superb about this place in central London, right near St Paul's Cathedral, with a very warm welcome, great food and prices. Highly recommended if you are in the area. Good house wine, and excellent lunchtime menu. I plan to visit in the evening on my next trip, as haven't experienced this yet.

We popped in for lunch and tried their fish and chips, which is signposted as 'the best in London" Hahaha. Well, it wasn't. It was a lot of batter, tasteless bit of fish and really dry chips. It looks like a nice pub, but don't go for the fish and chips!

Called after a full on day shopping in London. Everywhere around Oxford Street location was heaving so we had come back to our hotel location for less crowds.The pub was busy but we found a seat easily. The staff were very attentive. The food was very good (and lots of it)Reasonably priced.

I visited The Centre Page with some friends in December 2015, it is a really nice, albeit small pub in close proximity to St Paul's Cathedral. Offer a range of different ales and bitters, a couple of draught ciders too. Not great for large groups.

On my way to Tate modern on this chilly day I've tasted one of the best mulled wines I've ever had. They even decorate it with an Orange peel, spicy and hot. Also, with its 3.50£, it's one of the cheapest around. I recommend it.

A stone through from St Paul's Cathedral, this is the most pleasant pub we visited in the recent pub crawl around the City.We were greeted with a glass of Mulled Wine right by the entrance to the pub, and delightful smell of the food served was inviting.Extensive and very comfortable seating, with Dickens's bar downstairs next to a tiny boardroom with a long dinner / meeting table. Very clean, many friendly staff members offering their help at every step of the way. Delightful Fish and Chips served in and available for take-away at mere £6,95.Will definitely be back!No hook in the ladies loo, so had to place bags on the floor.And the place dates back to 1600s!

We had fish and chips here with an EF group. Food was good, but just not enough of it. Hopefully if you aren't part of a big group you get more than 1 piece of fish. The dessert was really good.

We stopped here is the middle of a long day of walking around London. The location was great and not too crowded. The staff was very friendly and service was excellent. Perfect place for a pint and a bite to eat.

Next the St-Paul Cathedral , and if you want to eat local food in a pub , The Pies are delicious , well prepared and with a Lager beer , it will give you a great satisfaction . Kasia , a polish girl , was very nice and very competent for the suggestion of our menu and the service . A nice adventure . Thank you very much
