Awful customer service by the management and staff pub was quiet yet a fuss was kicked up about trying to seat 9 of us as if the didnt want the work. Told to order using Qr code, food arrived in a timely manner all the grilled food was very over charred, burgers and buns over charred some food cold. Overall not a good experience definitely wouldnt recommend.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE! Staff are so rude! Rude beyond anything. If you don’t like your job find another one. On arrival the place was dead, asked for a table for 9 but were different families so would have sat separately. And instantly the lady with black hair asked if we had booked. She sighed and asked the manger I’m guessing (male, man bun) if it was ok for 9! He just nodded but looked annoyed. We ordered our meals on the table via the QR code as this is what they said we had to do. Even though other people were ordering at the bar! Food came and drinks and not one extra person came in, the place was dead. All the staff wanted to do was watch the football game. Food wasn’t great. Half of it was burnt. The chef came out to talk to the staff who were all stood chatting behind the bar and well his clothes were filthy. If I’d have known this I wouldn’t have eaten here. As a large company you’d want people in spending money as your jobs depend on it. I would suggest avoiding this place completely! Would not recommend this place at all!

The service was very quick, the 3 female front of house staff members were so lovely and welcoming. The food was amazing, i had the double cheeseburger which was beautiful and very reasonably priced. Drink service was also super quick!

Does not deserve any stars! Awful food, unfriendly staff, really bad service. Never coming back! Only a few tables and made to wait over 45 minutes for bad food. Ordered tomato soup - served in a big bowl with just 2 tablespoons of soup, looked more like a sauce dip than a £5 soup!! Looked like they couldn't be bothered to make any more soup and just served the little premade amount they had left. PURELY LEFTOVERS. Told the staff and they bought the soup back with added water (Bowl now filled halfway). Fish and chips were terrible. Staff standing around idle and ill-mannered, emotionless. Don't bother coming, just of waste of money and time. £80+ down the drain.

Lunchtime deal menu charged £8.00 for hunters chicken with chips and salad garnish. A handful of dried out rocket is not salad garnish. 11 chips each and barely visible cheese or bbq sauce on chicken. Very poor value. Chef really not interested in what is sent to table. Won't return.

Second visit, first was under new management a while ago, so I forgave the teething problems. Today although was different. Place looks very tired and needs a complete refurb. Children's inside play area is a joke. Paint peeling and garden furniture rusting and obviously left outside to rot. Ashtrays full and litter in undergrowth. Waited ages for the food which was poor in both quality and quantity, and over priced for what is basically fast food. I had ordered the lunchtime special, which is cheaper than the normal rate, which was obvious when it arrived as it was half the normal portion in size but dearer in ovrerall price. Thought they'd served us the children's portion by mistake!! Complete rip off, and will not be returning.

The waiting time was poor but the food was decent.

Ordered via qr code at our table, waited 45minutes for food to arrive- asked at the bar when ordering more drinks and informed food wait times about an hour. Food was mediocre at best- and whilst the staff did apologise about the wait (a chef didn't appear apparently), it was barely worth waiting 1hr 15minutes for. Would avoid unless you are desperate

Wow, place was empty yet still took 45 minutes for food to arrive. Turned up cold and overcooked. Plastic from the packaging was in the food as well as brown lettuce in the burgers. The beer was also flat. Bar staff were very impolite, it was like we are imposing on their time. No apology for the poor food standards.

Baguette was very burned. A really annoying thing is that I had a valid 30% discount and during ordering, there was nowhere to input the code :-( Not a good experience overall. Shame as the location is great as we travel pass it every weekend.

On two occasions now , we have dropped in unbooked, although today they were very busy with Mothers Day, they managed to squeeze three of us in for lunch. Lovely cooked and presented food. Probably the Manager who took our order who was very courteous and efficient behind the bar . Infact all of the team was courteous and very efficient. To be fair this experience was identical to our previous visit. Excellent all around.

Came to meet up with friends for food. Had previously been and had a great experience so we came back, and again the staff were so lovely and welcoming. Food and service was great and it’s so nice to be able to bring your dog, made the difference in that one of our gang could come as she could bring her 6month old pup. Lovely afternoon with great food, drinks and atmosphere!! We’re planning another visit soon!!

My wife, daughter and my self visited Caraway Carmarthen for lunch and really enjoyed the food and the friendly atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and polite and very helpful. We would recommend the restaurant and will definitely will go back again to eat.

We had deep fried cauliflower and mushrooms to start. Baked potatoes, one with chilli con carne and one with beans and cheese. All really good.

Just had sunday roast very poor! burnt roast potatoes 1 small slice of meat microwaved Yorkshire pudding like a wrinkled Frisbee! Undercooked veg. Will not be going back for sunday roast again.

We called in here today for a Sunday roast the staff were not very welcoming we were told to sit where we liked we ordered two turkey dinners and I have to say it's the worst meal I have ever had the vegetables were chewy and had a rubbery texture inedible the turkey was tasteless the Yorkshire pudding was out of the freezer and the roast potatoes were burnt the manager came over and asked if the meal was alright I said it's the worst meal I had ever had he replied thank you I looked at him and he said did you say the worst I replied yes and all he said was urr sorry about that will never go in there again wouldn't recommend ever

Very hit or miss. Some days are great, others are appalling and require a refund. Went a few weeks ago and couldn't have been happier with everything! Went today and the fryer was broken (wasn't told this prior to ordering). Food arrived and everything that required a fryer was soggy and nasty. If you don't have the facilities, don't bother serving the food. It's fine to say "sorry our fryer is broken so we can't server xyz today" rather than waste peoples time and money Hope next time will be better x

The food was excellent quality and a great dining experience.

Food was ok, not as described on the menu though, waitress did offer to correct but that didn't happen and no refund of the difference was given on leaving and pointing out the error.

Visited on a Sunday evening and both ordered Hunters Chicken. We asked after to swap the order from tomato to garden peas, and I mean with in less than a minute of the ticket going to the kitchen. (Keep in mind we were the only couple in the restaurant along with maybe 2 other tables) so they were NOT rushes off their feet at all and the restaurant was dead and now we understand why. We were told simply no we can not swap tomatoes for peas. Why? We even said we didn't mind paying the extra. I understand if we wanted to substitute something fairly small for something more expensive lime swapping peas for onion rings or something. So the tomatoes went in the bin and we were quite annoyed that we were just told no. The reviews of this place really aren't great and the one in Haverfordwest is 100% better food, presentation, restaurant cleanliness and service. Travel a little further down the dual carriage way and go there instead, as this was our first time here and won't be going back. Also given a one star for service as we had to go up to the bar to pay, and order. The restaurant as mentioned was quiet yet NOBODY came to check back on our meals and if everything was okay. Yet they were lingering by the bar talking. We paid, ate and left.

Havnt been here for quite a few years, the Pizzas used to come from a wood fired oven and they were fantastic a great value, the place has changed so much for the worse, i ordered a pizza for myself and my 8 years old ordered the pepperoni kids pizza, whilst my 10 year old ordered the adults Chicken Tikka, when my pizza came out we all thought they had given me the kids pizza by mistake as it would have fitted nicely on a side plate, which is a bit steep at over 11 quid, my daughters pizza was even smaller and they had forgotton to put any pepperoni on it(seeing as that was the only topping requested she was very disapointed) the curry arrived and it was not great, dry chicken chunks in a watery and vinegary sauce. All in all one of the worst meals out for a very long time, which is a shame as we were trying to celebrate my 8 year old's birthday, if only you could give zero stars

Staff great, Sunday roast not much better than Wetherspoons. Beef ok, veg old, packet mash and yorkie pudding flat as a pancake and soggy.

Reluctantly, I have to say, as someone who used to work here, the standards have dropped so low that I barely recognize the place. Food was great, service was sadly terrible. The person who I think is the manager greeted us with a "Good evening!" from the bar. "There are menus on the table" he said. "Sit wherever you'd like." Brilliant start. After choosing a table, I walked up to the bar to get some menus, as they were unfortunately missing from our table. I couldn't see any staff anywhere. I quickly realized that nobody in the place was wearing a uniform. I couldn't tell if anyone was staff or customers. A lady walked in to the bar and asked if I would like to order. I made an order for two drinks and two meals. I ordered food, and the food came out fairly quickly. The waitress said "Enjoy your food, I'll just go and get you some cutlery" because staff made no effort to bring knives and forks to the table before the food was brought out. Small thing, but you get cutlery before your meal in any greasy spoon cafe. While we were eating, we were shocked to see multiple staff members, one was the same manager (small man bun) comfortably walk outside to the porch to smoke their vapes in plain view of everyone, not even attempting to hide it. One female staff member even vaped indoors and stuck her head between the doors to blow the cloud of vape outside. Genuinely gave the food 5 stars. The cowboy burger was very good. Good portion size, succulent patty, lovely burger sauce. My other half enjoyed her veggie burger too. Ordering desserts was a little awkward. I walked to the bar, and two waitresses approached me, and then walked right past me into the cellar. I couldn't believe it. I spotted the manager who greeted us when we arrived sat at the "staff table" and asked him if I could order dessert. He replied with "Yeah the girls will be two minutes." I wanted to make the point that they had both walked past me, so I replied with "Okay, because they walked right past me a moment ago." "They're just counting the lines in the cellar." I said "Okay..." and walked back to the bar. He let out bit of a sigh and stood up to serve me at the bar. I sensed he was a bit annoyed that a customer was taking up his time. I was nice enough about it but I couldn't shake the feeling that he was annoyed with me. The waitress showed up with the dessert and apologized for "ignoring me on the bar". I forgave her and told her not to worry about it. I wasn't really annoyed at her, I understand she had been asked to do something. I was more concerned about the way the manager acted to be honest. The dessert was the rocky road sundae, absolutely outstanding too. Plenty to whipped cream, plenty of brownie, lots of ice cream with chocolate sauce on top. Well done kitchen, great mains and great dessert. The staff did say goodbye when we left, which was a nice touch. Honestly, overall I see the Caraway as somewhere that could be much, much better if the standards were lifted. The food is good and the drinks selection that Marstons offers is definitely its USP, but it's let down by its management unfortunately. They let staff vape in view of the customers and they're all sat around on the table near the kitchen in view of the bar and front door. They're obviously content with that level of service and it's a shame to be honest.

The menu has gone so limited, we were really disappointed, plus there were a lot of things missing tonight. The staff here are great but for some reason tonight the food service was really slow. A group of 5, quite disappointed tonight

Been to better places in Carmarthen, quite disappointed with everything, play area for the kids was closed, drawing paper available for the kids but no pencils or crayons (had to get our own) two staff working and one one served us, so we had to wait ages to get an order in with hungry kids, that doesn't help. The food was average and nothing to shout about to coming back again. Not sure if its better on other days and I hope it is, but we were very disappointed

Another lovely meal this time to introduce friends to the Caraway. They were impressed with the quality of their meals and the price. I will be returning soon for a family birthday and am looking forward to that too.

Could staff inform the customers when there are deals on, a lots of our elderly customers are unaware of the all day deals until they order, then maybe get told my other customers that was in the day deal, the staff didn't pass this to my mum and dad, shame really as they would most certainly have told there friends these deals, good management would have this addressed to there branch managers or do they not bother when it comes to sales and profits......”

Have been to Carway many times for food, never disappointed, but today what a let down, the hunters chicken I had was slapped on the plate and the bacon on top, the salad looked like it was prepared yesterday the fried tomato was so hard you could play golf with it, waited nearly an hour for the food. Such a let down after all the good food we have had there. Won't be visiting again.

It was a very relaxed atmosphere. I was particularly impressed by the cleanliness of the restaurant and efficiency of the staff. Our food arrived in no time.

This was my second visit and once again the food didn't disappoint. It was very busy but we were told there would be a wait for food and that was fine. Staff very friendly and polite and worked very hard. I will be back for a third visit very soon 😊

The food and service were exceptional compared to 6 years ago my last visit here. The portions were ample and the price amazing. All in all a wonderful visit and food and service

Food expensive average food ,,could of had the same burger at a burger van,, Our problem with today was the chef ,,he looked totally filthy dirty ,all we could here from the kitchen was him messing around ,that's how we noticed him and what he was wearing a dirty old baseball cap ,it wasn't untill he decided to come out of the kitchen and walk around near the bar ,that we see his discusting dirty cloth,,trouser were stinking and filthy with an old black dirty t-shirt,why is your chef not chef whites ,???im sure health and safety would not pass this ,,???

First time at this Marstons, we normally have a great experience at our local Marstons in Haverfordwest so we were expecting the same level of service, but this was not the case. The service was extremely slow (was not busy), we were not told we had to go up to the bar to order food and drinks. Food was served, took three attempts to get the right cutlery to eat our food. The food quality was just ok, sauce missing from the chicken burger. We had planned on having a dessert but was told we would have to wait another 20 minutes for this we decided not to bother. On the service we experienced on our visit it was disappointing and we won't be visiting this establishment again anytime soon.

Booked a table for 5 people, for my daughters 17th birthday. Can bjnwstky say I was totally disgusted. The service was terrible, I had to wait for someone to stop having a conversation out the back to come over. We were finally seated and told anything. I had to get up aftrrc20 mina and ask if we had to come to the bar to order or does someone come over. She said no you have come to me . I ordered, i paid, we waited. The food came out 5 mins in between each other. I had to ask where the cutlery was. The food I have to say was terrible. I paid £80 for 5 small plates of food and each one, of different meals were dry. I even made a comment to the person who brought it over, are you having a laugh, has this just come out if the microwave. I never once had anyone come up and say can I get yiu anything or is all okay? So my feedback is this. The service was terrible, the food was dry and not up to standard at all and finally, I will never come back again. I will also not be recommending, if anything I would tell them to go else where, honestly could have had a better meal at McDonald's for a quarter of the price!!!

The only reason I’ve given less than 5 stars is because of your vegan choices. I visited around a year ago and it was the same 1 choice of chilli. If you add more vegan options, you will have much more vegan diners. The chilli is nice, but you need to have a better selection

Menu on table was incorrect so couldn’t order the mixed grill then went to order deserts to be told there is no rocky road available. No signs up to say the menu had been reduced or some items wouldn’t be available . Not very happy with our visit. Was meant to be a nice birthday treat turned out to be disappointing

Went to the pub on 5th November for a Sunday lunch. Ordered 2 beef dinners and after 40 minutes enquired at the bar when to expect the food. Was advised it was nearly ready . When it came, it was on cold plates. The beef was hard and difficult to cut, the broccoli very bland, the Yorkshire’s were more like crisps and the pigs in blankets hardly cooked. We complained about the meal and was brought a steak knife , by the manager, to cut the beef with. Sunday lunch was not cheap but essentially we paid to have carrots and mashed potato. The manager did apologise, but we left hungry and very much out of pocket. Will never return and having read other reviews, nothing has been learnt from previous feedback. A disastrous experience all round.

Myself partner son daughter in law and grandchildren had food on Sunday and it was an actual let down. The service was appalling my partner had chips pie and literally half a dozen peas so we had to ask for more my One of my grandsons child’s meal was bland didn’t have the option for a side of peas or beans my sons curry was Luke warm my daughter in laws burger was like it was throw together they totally forgot my food , the pizza my other grandson had was actually lovely So the whole experience was absolutely disgusting What a terrible let down and an absolute waste of money !!!!

Just had lunch, what a disappointment, we waited well over 30 minutes just for a small lunch time meal and a child's meal. Portions were small even though it was a lighter bite. Staff serving was good, just waiting. One young girl was really great, busy and very helpful when she realised that we head been waiting for a while. Unfortunately we won't be returning.

Standard Marston Pub for food , fast EV charging, which is not that common in this part of Wales. Nothing memorable, but convenient and clean etc as a bit like McDonald's. Would visit again as we were traveling thru.

Me and my wife visit here every week, by far the best in the area. Robbie and the rest of the staff always treat us perfectly and the food is great. Worth a visit.

Lovely place to go out for a meal, I've been here multiple times, it isn't outstanding by any means but the food is nice, the staff are nice and the atmosphere is nice. Some improvements could be a wider menu and table service.

Been previously and had good food, no complaints . But had a mixed grill off the specials board,asked for my steak medium,which came out well done,chicken was very dry with onion rings and sausage over done,very disappointed on this occasion, didn't complain or return food has I was hungry(had no breakfast) but it will be my last visit.

Front of house staff not very friendly like they could not be bothered when you arrive. when meal eventually arrived over 45 minutes after ordering it the establishment only had 5 more couples waiting for food or ordering their meals. When our meals arrived it was very over cooked and dried out when told the girl serving she just shrugged and said she only takes the orders not cook. we will never go here again avoid the place if you want a nice meal go elsewhere.

The staff are great, but the food is over priced and poor quality. £3.80 for a pint of (only slightly fizzy) Pepsi max is excessive.

Came in for a meal with friends and tried the pasta Alfredo special and added some chicken, it came with a large salad and garlic bread, it looked and tasted great, would definitely have again. The staff were friendly and the service was great.

Some items not available during my visit

When we arrived, everything was all good, however, having bought a drink, placed an order and sat at the table for nearly 30 minutes. We were then informed that there had been a small “FIRE” in the kitchen and this would mean that we would have to wait a further 45 minutes to get some food. This was definitely not a good experience.

no mega mixed grill available on the day, shame but ordered sirloin steak instead, absolutely fantastic . top 10 steaks iv ever had, waiter (Male not sure name) was help full, i even asked him what he would rather have for desert. sticky toffee pudding was incredible. good choice mate !

Well where do I start? The service was useless. I was asked if I wanted the starter the same time as the main meal ...really???? They didn't have any steaks or lasagne so we decided to go for the sunday lunch which was terrible! and looked like a childs meal. The wait for the food was over 30 minutes, I ordered breaded mushrooms, which were burnt and you only get 5 mushrooms ( which works out at a £1 per mushroom) and a pot of mayo and a sad looking salad which had no chives. I had to ask for another fork because it had dried food on it! Eat here at your peril. The only reason we came here is because all the other places in town were booked up. Please do not reply to this saying "the next time you come in we will improve this" Don't bother because there will not be a next time!

Not the first time we have visited here. Nicely located, plenty parking available and some shopping and other food outlets nearby. The food is average, and the wait for it can be lengthy so give yourself time to eat here. They do cater for dietary requirements. Service was good, seated quickly.

Over a year ago I gave a 1* rating for this restaurant. I'm glad to say that after hearing positive comments about the Caraway, we re-visited. We booked last night although didn't need to judging by the number of spare tables. We were greeted at the bar, having selected our meals and the first thing said after the pleasantries was that there was about a 45 minute wait for food... Okay, acceptable since they told us in advance. We ordered a Hunters Chicken and a Mixed Grill. Both were cooked well and we're tasty. We then followed up with a tarte and a rocky road sundae... Both were OK but I'm sure I remember the sundae being bigger than it was. Overall, the wait (although advised in advance) was a little long but the food was good, hence a 4* review

Bit wary after reading so many bad reviews lately.. but the odd great one and the menu made us take a chance . Quite busy for a late Thurs afternoon.. nice table ..staff were great.. had everything we asked for.. food was fine .. steak .. vegan curry and a pizza ..cauliflower wings were lovely ..Naan was overcooked so was hard but was only issue .. If we’d wanted to eat it would have sent back for another.. looks like place is hit and miss .. had maybe 3 meals that weren’t great not great in all years been coming since it opened with different chefs .. today was a good day 👍

When it first opened we went here for food and were disappointed. Anyway, after some years we thought we’d give give it a go again for Sunday lunch. On arrival it was pretty quiet inside which is never a good sign. Ordered at the bar and had to pay for the food upfront with an option to give a tip (personally, I won’t give a tip in anticipation of good food/service). Was quickly seated but waited 40mins for the food to arrive. Very small portions and bland food. At no time were we asked if we wanted any drinks at the table or how was the meal. On a positive note, there’s plenty of parking spaces.

Went to caraway for food and got greeted by the lovey and welcoming staff they showed us to a table and said we can either order of the app or the bar had our food in a reasonable time and also a good price we all loved the food and had a great time.thank you to all the staff we will Be returning back
