Paid for a game of pool then before we could even finish we got kicked out as the upstairs area apparently wasn’t open even though there were no signs that it was closed then we offered to finish are game and leave however the waiter demanded we leave immediately, when requesting a refund for the paid pool game we were just again told to leave.

The music was quite loud, it was busy but still manageable. Food was ok, not really high quality. But we were happy that we had somewhere to go for dinner on a Saturday evening. I drank a delicious Guinness and ate a burger

I don't ever leave bad reviews but I had to for this place. Came in as fanzo had said the rugby would be on (with sound too), and when I asked at the bar the manager on shift said they would put it on one TV next to us. We go upstairs, play some pool, and buy some drinks and it isn't until we've already spent £25, about to order food, and the game is five minutes from starting that a member ot staff (who was very nice) told us the game would not be shown after all as there were requests for other games. Bear in mind that there are about five people upstairs including the two of us. Really poor experience and I'd recommend anywhere else.

The bottomless brunch was good overall. The food was was good compared to most bottomless brunches and the drinks were good. Service was a little slow at times although they were helpful.

Avoid or you will face disappointment, especially with food. If you want somewhere cheap and reliable, go to Wetherspoons. If Stonegate Group have no haters, I have passed away.

We had a fantastic time! Holly was absolutely amazing and very attentive and she makes an awesome cocktail 🍸 We were pleasantly impressed with all food and drinks. I would highly recommend going for the festive bottomless brunch.

Went for a Bottomless Brunch with my cousins and we had a great time. Staff were really attentive and friendly, we were served by Holly who was lovely. Food was lovely and cocktails were amazing. Highly recommend and we will be looking to book again.

Don’t go on weekdays if you’re looking for an energetic night. Otherwise pretty chill place. They have good cider selection. Bottomless brunch also looks nice.

Great place, good music and atmosphere. Cocktails have always been good as well as the food, a little pricy for me, but it's Bath, so it's what to expect. Staff members always happy and smiling, very friendly.

A year ago, I had my worst ever Christmas meal here. It was 80 minutes between receiving our drinks and receiving our food: a dreadful veggie burger that might have been shop bought and an insulting quantity of thin chips, warm not hot. I've just started planning for this Christmas meal and realised I never left a review. I was so appalled that it has stuck with me a year later. Never again!

Had a good experience at this pub this evening, following the purchasing of a Groupon voucher for the 2 x meals and 2 x drinks. Staff were really friendly and meals came out really quick. This place has a great vibe overall and great for younger crowds.

Great space upstairs and downstairs, quick bar service.

Quaint pub (as we later discovered it belongs to a chain) with nice service and delicious food. However, we waited a long time for three meals (burgers, pizza, mac'n'cheese). The Mac'n'Cheese was a smaller portion with salad and small rolls. Otherwise recommended, especially for young people, some student discounts.

Muchas gracias a Will y al otro el otro miembro del personal cuyo nombre lamentablemente no conseguimos por hacer que fuera una experiencia tan genial. A pesar de que el bar se volvió muy ocupado, ambos eran increíblemente atentos y tan amables. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente y sin duda volveremos de nuevo. Muchas gracias a los dos☺️

Llegamos al Canon en busca de una buena cena y estábamos increíblemente contentos con lo que obtuvimos Pedí la hamburguesa Bollywood, que era vegana. Empanada doble con bhajis de cebolla y un aderezo de mayo con menta, esto fue raro de la manera más increíble, top 3 de hamburguesa siempre un poco raro, funcionó tan bien y voy a recrearlo en casa Mi amigo tenía una pizza naturista, hecha vegana para mí ya que nunca dejo comida y sabíamos que sobrarían, la pizza estaba muy bien cocinada y ligeramente dominada por la salsa pesto, las costras aunque... no dejé nada El pub en sí parecía un viejo boozer británico clásico oscuro con un poco de arte moderno, deporte en la televisión y el secador de manos no funcionaba en el baño, pero vino por la comida, así que sí 5 estrellas! El personal era amable y comprobó que estábamos contentos, no hay dramas en absoluto y va a estar soñando con esa hamburguesa durante días

Great place to drink beer and be with family and friends. James was very nice to us, and we had lots of fun.

Fab choice of drinks, cocktails, prosecco, beer, spirits, we had a delicious pizza each. The service from Eve and Liss was exceptional. Great value , Would recommend!

The worst pub I've ever been to. The food was luke warm and so little in quantity. They had the Olympics on about 100% volume. The doorman was serving on the bar and serving food because of how understaffed it was, over all the worst experience I've ever had.

Fabulous bottom less brunch yesterday. All the staff were warm welcoming and attentive. They had a busy night ahead with the euros final but still made sure we were very well looked after. A wonderful afternoon, I would highly recommend. Thank you.

Aggressive male staff made our experience horrible tonight. We go to canon often and are loyal customers. However tonight, whilst walking down the stairs with everyone else during half time (sensibly, soberly and with no issue) one of the security guards took it upon himself to scream in my sisters face ‘if you don’t walk on the left side then you’ll be out and won’t come back in’. He chose to scream at the small women amongst a group of men, he was intimidating and caused her to feel threatened for absolutely nothing. Football is often not a space where women always feel safe and accepted and this behaviour was absolutely unacceptable. How on earth does he know how a woman may react to that due to past experiences, and out of all he could have shouted at (for no reason whatsoever) why choose the sobre woman who was causing absolutely no issue. I am extremely angry to have experience such aggressive male behaviour and this needs to be addressed immediately. We will be making a formal complaint for this behaviour

Great venue to watch Wimbledon men’s final

Just got through a pretty low night. Tonight was the England Euros final and of 10-15 of my friends upstairs, I was forced to spend it alone downstairs. With a cancelled train I made it to the pub later than the rest, and the bouncer decided this was a suitable cut-off point, isolating one young woman in a pub on one of the highest tension nights of the year. I watched him later make an exemption for my male friend- I went over to rationalise this with him. He claimed my friend had been here hours; I knew this was a lie and he’d just got off the bus. Overcompensating, as bouncers often do, he got very barky. Being ill and feeling weak I let it go and returned to my solo carved out spot in his eyeline; for the extent of the night he would have seen every friend come down, hug, and leave me alone again- he allowed it still. Repeatedly, he isolated me: initially on my own, from the group as they tried to bring me up, and after halftime. I think he enjoyed it. He had decided exceptions weren’t to be made for her, not even for the sake of safety, a principle of his job. It’s cruel, definitely, but it could also pass for bullying, remembering my face while allowing other new ones upstairs. Fortunately the kindness of spectators compensated for his lack and they kept me under their wing. But they shouldn’t have had to. It probably goes without saying… I don’t want to show my face in The Canon again. This bouncer needs to be trained on how to make a woman feel welcome and safe in a pub on a night such as this, because I experienced the exact opposite. I felt isolated, intimidated and bullied.

15 of us had a fantastic bottomless brunch at this venue for my sister’s hen do. We were served by James and he was on top form, being round after round of drinks without us having to ask. As mentioned in other reviews, the selection of drinks on offer was vast, including about 12 different cocktail choices. The food was also nice however I nearly knocked off a point for a few areas here. A few people had to wait for their food (even though the pre order was sent through about 5 days in advance) and the hot avocado toast was a bit too spicy for some (the menu could have made this clearer via chilli 🌶️ ratings). Looking around, the poached eggs were hard/overcooked for everyone who had them. Tightening up these small things would really elevate the experience and you could probably charge more for the bottomless brunch package. Overall 5/5 stars due to the excellent service and drinks on offer. Still a few improvements/tweaks required for the food in my opinion. We really enjoyed it and will be back 🙂

Very expensive pints but a class place to watch the euros

Came here a couple of times over a weekend. Loads of atmosphere, a band on the Friday night and the Rugby on the Saturday, it was buzzing. Friendly atmosphere. Beer was 2 for 1 at some point.

We were served by Eve and both she and the place were amazing!! Perfect service, perfect everything! For a bottomless brunch we were all pleasantly surprised would very much recommend!! And thank you eve again for your amazing service!

We have eaten served by only one person and there was a group of 40. Slow, cold food... Not good.

I've been several times, and it's always been fine, friendly staff, good atmosphere, but I was changed £8.25 for a pint. They have a little sign talking about flexibile prices during busy hours, but this price is ridiculous. The pub at the time was busy outside and maybe 1/3 full inside, I will not be coming back

Had a bottomless brunch. There was plenty to choose from on both the food and cocktail menus. Had a really good time and would definitely return. Was even better than Turtle Bay!

Wonderful time at the Canon today for my wife's birthday. Rosie was brilliant in setting up decorations as well as ensuring we didn't go thirsty in our 2 hour bottomless brunch. Excellent service and brilliant food and drink!

Awful service, apparently people can turn up 2 hours late to a booking and claim a table that you're sat on and spending money. Security needs to be changed out as the man in a red beanie clearly has a complex. Won't be returning!

Arrived an hour early to get a table to watch the 6 nations, found one, then 20min into kick off had 'reserved' sign put on it & had to move. Diabolical customer service. Never going back

Staff were really great. Food was disappointing, particularly the piri piri chicken. No salad bowls available and each plate was lucky to have 10 chips. The pizza was good.

A fantastic spot to spend the afternoon watching the 6 nations. Although packed, the app worked really well. Would be good to be able to order from the app if you’ve paid a deposit as it avoids a queue at the bar. Friendly staff, good pub grub and fairly priced.

If I could give less than one star I would.went with my wife and family had a slot 12.15 to 1.45 left as asap.toilets were terrible drinks were the same and the food was disgusting.would not go again if it was free.

Booked a table until 7:30 but the bar staff have now told us at that we need to leave at 7 - because they’ve got another table booked Just rude and useless Claimed we would have got an email about it; but after checking we only got an email confirming our table until 7.30 booking Been here many times but she has just ruined it

Good pub lots of different beers

Staff very nice and also helped me save money by telling me about deals I didn’t know they had when I went to order. The girl at bar had a headband on and was extremely helpful! Food very nice and lots of tvs to watch football

Food cold and took 1 hour 20 minutes to arrive shortly after which we were evicted from our table with no apology. Never again.

£7.30 for a pint of Peroni is absolutely criminal. Avoid at all costs on the weekend. I haven’t even paid that much in central London.

Great city centre pub with a try

Had a lovely bottomless brunch here on Saturday with my friend, really nice burger meal and cocktails. Made even better by excellent customer service from our friendly waitress Rosie. Will definitely return and recommend :-)

Came to the Canon recently and had a fun time. The bartender Faith recommended the bee sting cider, which was lovely.

We went here a bit over student age and it seemed a student night with a packed pub full of 20 year old students in fancy dress.Great atmosphere the security doorman was comical.We enjoyed a drink and thought we’d better leave due to us not being age appropriate 🤣They had the football on and everyone seemed to be having an excellent time

we went for some food for dinner here some of my family and my friends. we had amazing service from Rosie. Would defo recommend!!!

Had a lovely night out with my friends here, it was a really warm and upbeat environment, and the drinks were amazing and for such a good price. The staff were very friendly too, Rosie in particular was brilliant, quick service and a very bubbly personality.

Love the music, great choice of drinks especially loved pineapple cider. Food was great every time we come.

Dropped on The Canon on the second day of our week in Bath and went in every day after that. Can't really comment on the food we only had a sandwich a couple of dinner times (it was ok). The choice of beer though was excellent, from Beavertown to Lillie cider, Brewdog and more, it really was very good. There's seating outside with umbrellas and plenty inside with comfy chairs. TV screens scattered about for sport. We came in dinner times and a couple of early evenings which were relatively quiet, I would expect it to get very busy though at peak times. The guys behind the bar were efficient and friendly.

We pick up group customers at noon and use the sports bar in the evening. It has a very young atmosphere. The national dish is fish and chips and various sauces. It is simple and delicious. The young service staff are also young and energetic. It's just that the toilet is old, but we shouldn't care about drunken guests going to the toilet at night.

We were looking for a pool table on a weeknight and this place delivered! £1.50 card payments accepted 👍 And they had a great choice of drinks on tap. Have also been a couple of times late evening with a group when we have struggled to find tables elsewhere. The Canon is pretty big inside so we can usually fit in.

Lovely pub with good food but the service isn’t so fine.

We came for a drink and it was wing Wednesday. The wings were nice and cooked fresh to order. We made use of the pool table which is alway good to keep the teenagers entertained.

Nice staff; local ciders; and a very nice atmosphere!

Came for bottomless brunch with my sister and had a great time! We ordered the savoury and sweet waffles to share which were amazing, and our drinks were never empty so it was good value for money. Would definitely come again 😊

Great bottomless brunch I was a bit apprehensive choosing a sport pub for a girls bottomless brunch, however I was pleasantly surprised. We were sat upstairs and the service from Will was second to none, he was super attentive, kept coming to check if we were ok and needed more drinks. Food was fine, most of us had something different and no issues.
