Great place , really good food , great service

Have to give a star to leave a review Tried to get in for breakfast at 9 and doors locked no one in and yet website said opens at 8 so went to Sainsbury’s cafe and gave them my money.

well , i have so say it’s not often nowadays that i get impressed with customer service, as i work in the industry and im not easily impressed. however, i had the pleasure of receiving the best service i have had in a long time ! it is refreshing to see staff with a can do attitude and actually seem happy to be at work . i feel compelled to name them as i literally stunned at the professional approach, product knowledge and friendliness of them both . so i would like to say thank you to Faye and Jess, for making my visit to the cambridge memerable for all the right reasons .❤️

Atsmoshpere is excellent. Toilet is clean and spacious!

Lovely bit of scran, never disappointed

The only thing warranting a star is the food, so props to the chefs for that one. Quite Monday, 3 staff members clearly including a manager more bothered about talking about secret santa and dramas that everyone could hear then actually be bothered to come and wipe down and clean any tables in the whole 1 half hours we was there for! But soon quick to come and clear our table that we was still clearly eating just to approach us and being abrupt saying “you guys vaping in here” which was so obvious was not happening, who knew eating nachos and scrolling through Facebook could produce such a statement, especially considering we are both in our thirties, laughable if I’m being honest. Shame really as our full bowl Of nachos got taken away quicker then I was even able to taste them. I’m sure there are better hungry horses out there where we can get the same food but less judgmental and better service!

Went on the 26h Oct.2024.a party of 15 seated upstairs to celebrate 50th birthday listened to the ABBA tribute.ordered meals.one sent back with hairs in it,one chicken rock hard.my wife and myself felt sick and nearly passing out.so had to leave got home violently sick with food poisoning.we all will not be going to the Cambridge ever again.avoid like the plague.L Jones

The person behind the bar named Charlie is very friendly and welcoming. My friend and I are regular and he has got to know our usual order, which shows he takes an interest in his customers.

Came for lunch was lovely and food was hot and delicious can't go wrong with this place staff also lovely and always there to give a helping hand

Food is amazing and staff are friendly and polite always there before you need them. Very organised and well run by all the staff would definitely recommend

Popped into The Cambridge whilst out shopping with kids to grab a quick lunch. Food quality was poor and disappointing how such a simple meal of sausage chips and beans could be so badly ruined - burnt sausages and reheated mash that clearly didn’t start life as a potato. Would recommend this place for a quick drink if out shopping but avoid eating “food” here at all costs.

Visited for lunch this wasn’t planned but spare of the moment as was shopping in the area. Arrrived very fast and super delicious! Places like this never get feedback when it’s good, and I must say I had no problems on any part of my visit. Big shout out to Gemma who served us with a lovely smile very helpful! And Kris for our beautiful steaks. was to die for. We will definately be back (and this will be a planned visit this time)! Well done both. Awesome

Big improvement I staff & food Alas can't say same for disabled toilet It has a baby changer that people don't put up after but having tried many times it is difficult to gey it to stay up you BATTLE with that the door & your chair Not impressed

Food was good value for what it was but not the warmest of food. Atmosphere was good though, but tables weren't clean.

With a large booking it is understandable that food may come out at different times, but when most of the group has nearly finished their food and we are still missing 6 meals is just poor form. We spoke to the bar staff and was dismissed as well as being accused that we had only ordered 20 minutes prior. How that is possible when the entire group was eating 20 minutes prior is beyond me. The manager was friendly enough but the blond lady on the bar clearly doesn't understand the concept of customer service.

We Arrived today seemed under staffed no one at deak sign said please find a table.we had booked so looked for my name on table a lady approach said go to bar waited 5 mins then a lady came went to look at computer to be told I've seem your name somewhere but no table had it on she gave us someone else table as they we due in a hour a half she said your probably be gone bye then 😠. Beef Sunday roast was poor very slimy and fatty,chips didn't taste fresh 😫 bar staff seem moody. we come atleast once or twice a month however this occasion has put me off

Good food and service in a happy friendly place. The food was cooked by there chef Wayne and the assistant manager Alex was very attentive, asking if our food was to our liking. Top marks, will go again.

Took the kid’s for a buy 1 burger 1 free. Food was ok and the kid’s were happy with the meal.

Went for our regular Wednesday night meal at The Cambridge tonight, been using this pub now solid for at least 5 years never once can i say we have had a bad meal, the prices are competitive to other comparable outlets, but what really makes this pub stand out is the friendliness of the staff from the bar person taking our orders to the person bring the food out, no matter what day or time we have attended, but my special thanks go out to Alex,Isabel, Holly, Chloe always make time to come over and talk to my daughter Amy who has a few learning difficulties, this really makes her day and something she looks forward to, using my daughters words to see her friends.

Gemma is brilliant the service here is great and the refurb looks amazing. Can’t rate the food as it’s a local drinking place for me.

Very disappointed with the this service, the bar staff was rude, was asking a simple question about the car parking as the machine was broke all I got was a mouthful of abuse from the bar person and swearing I don't find this very nice and this person needs to be brought up and spoken to

Love the selection of beers here very clean and crisp. Gemma is a brilliant host and always has a laugh with us after a long day at work. Food is perfect for the price too.

Very nice pub, from my experience the food is amazing, great portions for a great price and the food doesn’t take long at all, also a very family friendly pub great to take the kids to and have a meal, drinks are also cheaper than most places aswell, only downside is during busier hours it can take a while to be served a drink but other than that flawless.

We waited 45 minutes for our food and restaurant wasn’t even 1/3 full. Some of our order was forgotten. My food was only just warm when it came out. They offered to replace it. The new one had been microwaved/heated so much that there was no sauce in the lasagne. It was awful. The kids burgers were nice. I know it’s cheap and cheerful food but the meal cost £40 for 3 and was not worth it.

Have visited the Cambridge on many occasions for food and drinks.. came here on Sunday 15th September 2024 and had the Sunday lunch. However the plate consisted of two slices of a ready packet of turkey. Not really what I call a roast dinner. Just two slices slapped on a plate along with frozen roast potatoes. Hard green beans which I almost choked on. Last time I visited the turkey was actually a carved meat.. 🍽️😕

Visited for my wife for an impromptu meal after a busy day. Planned to visit the Beefeater next door, but their card machine was not working. Found a quiet table, and ordered at the bar from the extensive menu. Quick service, and the meal followed very quickly. I had a mixed grill and my wife had a Salmon sizzler. Both meals were excellent!

Well priced food at a "Hungry Horse" pub

I was very impressed with the refit. More space to relax and not on top of each as before. Breakfast is very tasty and nice. Very efficient service and service with a smile.

Gemma was superb, brilliant service and lovely hot food! Staff are so pleasant and the restaurant is nice tidy can't fault the place and prices.

The staff always make you feel comfortable, and are always attentive. Today's experience was particularly good due to the service from Charlie, who was exceptionally helpful and cheerful, making our experience so good that we will definitely be coming back, and recommending to our friends. Our breakfast was cooked by Wayne today and the quality and presentation surpassed any breakfast we have had anywhere else... Thank you guys.

We called in for lunch, unfortunately the part baked baguettes were not cooked, the chicken & bacon was cold & the salad looked unwashed. the coffee was luke warm.

This is the second time we have visited for a breakfast on a Saturday morning since the revamp. Beautiful meal. Unlimited cups of coffee. Lovely staff& our kind of music "chilled" playing in the background once again an altogether a very pleasent morning🤩 Well done Cambridge👍👍

At the start of my day, I was down in the dumps. Depressed even. That was until I arrived here and tasted Paul’s cooking. Jonelle made my steak to perfection and Gemma demonstrated exemplary service. I’ll hopefully be back.
