Greasy floors and overpriced drinks

Great place for a quick stop from Portsmouth for breakfast i before going on to West Brom football match.

Competitively priced food and drink, clean pub. Good mix of people

Recently visited in 30/01/2025 in evening we both had the chicken tikka massala of the £5 menu with drinks and orderd 2 additional crumbles off dessert menu at £ 5 + so over a tenner for 2 so after finishing the main waited table was cleared and we asked for desserts so waited 15 -20 mins were told sorry we have no crumbles we will have to refund you so refunded and just checked bank as had a notification and was refunded £8.59 which is over £2 less so becareful people next time i visit will be raising this issue

Spot on service food top quality faye our server was polite friendly and attentive easy access for my mobility scooter well lit and clean 1 downside desert was cold and sickly chocolate fudge and custard could have been warmer bar staff spot on and drinks done to specs and very enjoyable overall a very pleasant experience and value for money mix and match £9

My partner and I haven't been to The Cambridge in a while. Since our previous visit, the place has had a renovation and the food was lovely. The chefs on duty were Alex & Shane. Our waitress (Chloe) was welcoming and helpful. Couldng ask for better service. We will definitely be returning.

Booked a table for 12 for my birthday. Staff were great and super efficient. Food was tasty and plenty of it. Surprising value for money for the quality and quantity. Will be back next time over that way!

Had a great visit today at The Cambridge, our sever Holly was amazing and was very knowledgeable about the questions we had relating to an allergy one of our party had. Food came out quickly and correctly and was all hot when served. Great experience will be visiting again.

We had lasagne it was very oily. The prices are quite high considering the food is really the same standard as Wetherspoons. won’t be visiting again. Was only place to eat because Herbert’s Yard was closed.

Good value food, served quickly and restaurant is clean. Pints not as cheap as the bigger cheap competitor but food makes up for it. Interesting menu and lots of choice.

The food is always delicious and there’s a large variety of deals. Definitely family friendly! The staff are always great company and go above and beyond to ensure you’re happy! Great friendly atmosphere we always enjoy when we visit the Cambridge :)

Food and service was amazing. My steak was cooked to perfection. The food came really quickly and the bar staff and server Mags couldn't do enough to make sure our evening was a great one. Would definitely recommend coming here. My daughter is a fussy eater and loves there Mac and cheese and their enormous Sunday that was an amazing price for the size of it. Thanks to all the amazing staff for making our night great!

Atmosphere was alright for a Saturday night. Service was okay. Ordered a pint that had someone's hair in, Ordered a Chinese banquet found a razor sharp bone in one of the chicken nuggets and had a hot pepper in with the rice no indication of any heat in the meal at all.

Food is not consistent on 4 occasions there was no yogurt for breakfast and no banana the scrambled egg on toast was cold and no butter for the toast

You ordered on the app or at the bar and your food is brought to you. I can only say food was OK, service also OK. You collect you cutlery and condiments from a "station" and you need to make you choice carefully as a lot of the cutlery was not as clean as it should have Been.

I treated my mom to Friday lunch. It was busy, but it was the last day of the school holidays. 40 min wait, but a beer in hand and someone to chat to and the time flew. We both had the Fish and Chips with Mushy Peas. The fish was amazing, so moist with a thin CRISPY batter. Good amount of chips and a good portion of mushy peas. 👍👍👍

We throughly enjoyed our breakfast as a family of 4, came Saturday 4th January, easy to find a free table, easy to order, the breakfast came out fast, it was hot and tasty, ordered steak and eggs for 2 people the chefs Chris and Wayne smashed it it was cooked to perfection, definitely value for money and family friendly, we received lovely service by holly and magdelena. Would definitely be coming for breakfast again!

The service was fine and the food was OK. I had the lamb and samosa dish. My mum had the ale pie and loved it. My man had scampi and chips. The sticky toffee pudding was lovely! And the non alcoholic cocktail was nice too!

Went for Christmas dinner. Was a lovely 3 course meal. The portions were amazing, and the food was outstanding. The staff are friendly, polite, helpful, and made the day even more enjoyable.

Christmas Lunch shocking bad We booked our Christmas Day lunch at 1pm Mushroom soup tastes disgusting Roast turkey was stone cold with slight warm gravy poured all over it, roast potatoes deep fried and left in a hot hold for far too long, Stuffing was just a cold slab. Yorkshire puddings must have been cooked a day or 2 before and left to go soggy no crisp to them at all. No one came to check if our food was ok so we decided to wait and speak to someone before we left. Duty managed gave us a refund of a part of our £353.94 bill. We regularly eat at the Cambridge as it’s normally a great and cheap place to eat but one this occasion it was a total disappointment.

We had a family get together last Sunday. Gemma and her staff were excellent we will go back again.

Our server was gemma think maybe a manager, but she was very helpful and couldn't do enough for us even with carrying another little human around! Food was lovely an all round lovely lunch

Food is decent but service is slow as you need to queue up to get your food order. There are no waiters that take orders at tables. However, the menu has good choices.

One was greeted by friendly and attentive staff, a nice clean table and ordered food from the bar, food arrived promptly and was cheap and cheerful. My friend ordered a hearty full English and polished it off with an all you can drink from the coffee machine. All in all 3 star experience.

Food took an age to come out. Staff were obviously busy but didn't really offer much in the way of customer service or attentiveness. Every time we order the impossible vegan nuggets they send chicken ones and we have to send them back. Wouldn't rush back

well , i have so say it’s not often nowadays that i get impressed with customer service, as i work in the industry and im not easily impressed. however, i had the pleasure of receiving the best service i have had in a long time ! it is refreshing to see staff with a can do attitude and actually seem happy to be at work . i feel compelled to name them as i literally stunned at the professional approach, product knowledge and friendliness of them both . so i would like to say thank you to Faye and Jess, for making my visit to the cambridge memerable for all the right reasons .❤️
