Popped into The Cambridge whilst out shopping with kids to grab a quick lunch. Food quality was poor and disappointing how such a simple meal of sausage, mash, and beans could be so badly ruined - burnt sausages and reheated mash that clearly didn’t start life as a potato. Would recommend this place for a quick drink if out shopping but avoid eating “food” here at all costs.

Had a great time yesterday evening! Was served by Izzy at the bar who was really friendly, food and drinks were fab too.

We had a wonderful time at the Cambridge. The food was lovely. Joel was so polite and helpful. He made sure we were happy with everything. We enjoyed ourselves and we will definitely be back.

Food wasn't fresh looked like it had just come out of a microwave packet. Veggie lasagne tasted salty and definitely not freshly made. Salad was ok but couldn't eat all of it due to no taste and salty after taste. Disgusting. Really not happy. Not worth wasting your money.

Came in bank holiday Monday and even with a 45 minute wait food came out fresh and hot! Absolutely devoured it all the staff were lovely, helpful and friendly will definitely be coming back

I regularly go to the cambridge for meals with family but yesterday was the worst ever with no apologies. Had the fish dinner. Fish was flat and dirty brown colour batter which was full of what looked like dirty cooking oil 🤢 no apology from the woman who dealt with the issue. Had to ask for a refund as inedible 😡

We visited on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn’t busy at all with over 70% of tables empty. We ordered food, only a sharing starter and two sides. This took over half an hour to arrive, and when it did, most of the food on the starter plate was barely cooked. I cut into a chicken wing and it was raw. The meat was like a jelly substance and the rest was paler than the napkins. The only thing that was cooked was the garlic bread which was black! The presentation was awful, it looked unappetising to start with. I took it back before I’d even took a bite of anything. I do have to say though, the lady who I spoke to when I took it back was lovely. I think she was called Holly. She had blonde hair that was tied back in a low pony. She was very apologetic and kind.

Although food was fine, service great is, it's more how the company works out it pricing. We paid £1.49 for a kids brownie for the little one with an add on ice cream for 99p, costing £2.48 Then we ordered the mini brownie from the adult section for £3.99 for the older daughter. But yet- when they both came out, they were the same size... I ask the lady and she said it the same brownie they use. Can someone please explain this? Why spend £3.99 when you can spend £2.48 and for the same thing? Makes no sense.

Me and my family came in today for Sunday lunch, we were greeted by Alex whom was very pleasant, we received our meal from another pleasant staff Danielle, she checked on our meals made us feel welcome. A pleasant Sunday afternoon well spent, the atmosphere was amazing.

The service i received from Joel was absolutely outstanding. Would definitely refer the Cambridge to all of my friends and please pass our thank you Charlie the chef. The steak he cook was absolutely beautiful and cooked to perfection. Both staff are an asset to the Cambridge. Definitely a 10/10 experience all staff are friendly

ordered starters mains and 3 cokes the starters came out within 5 mins of ordering but was burnt one of the starters a mixed combo sharer was burnt the scampi was well over cooked. the natchos as they call them ( tortilla cut into triangles) was deep fried in oil that was so old not only could you taste it but see it.within 5 minutes of the starters coming out the mains came out ( we hadnt even finished the starters nor was the plates offered to be cleared) the chicken tikka massala was watery. understandably they are boil in the bag currys we expected that but these were like the bag had burst and water had seeped in. The chicken on the mixed grill was hot held in water by the taste of it when i squeezed it with my fork water came out of it. the pepper sauce was split and tasted grainy. granted the manager changed the mixed grill and replaced the chicken with extra gammon. as a former chef for greene king i was extreamly upset with the standards of food that came from the kitchen. if the management team allow food like this to come out they should hang there head in shame. i will be making a formal complaint about this place

The staff were amazing at such a busy time on the Easter weekend. A little wait for our food but we hadn’t booked in advance so that was ok!

Me and my family had dinner here at The Cambridge today and we all had a great time! The food was lovely and hot, the kids loved there food and pudding and the atmosphere was great :) Staff were lovely and polite we were served by Jonelle and Grace today and they were both amazing!! Made sure all our foods were out asap ( Especially with the kids being hungry 😅) they were so kind and thoughtful, especially as our eldest has additional needs , thank you both so much 😊

Came here for dinner with my partner, and we were waited on by Izzy who was fantastic, polite, and helped with any queries we had. Would highly recommend for the food, if not also for the brilliant staff. Izzy made our visit extremely comfortable, and we will be coming again definately. What a lovely place to dine. Atmosphere was relaxing, and really good facilities!! Highly recommend!!

The staff are always on form, they actually take the time to look after me and my group, they actually know what we like. I have been to many HH around the midlands, and this is genuinely the best one. Alex and her team should be rewarded for it.

Popped in for lunch. Ordered salmon with a Mexican pasta and coleslaw. Ordered drinks however drinks never turned up had to get them from the bar where there was a long queue. Food arrived. It was absolutely awful. The salmon had a very pungent smell which I couldn’t eat. I eat a lot off salmon so knew this wasn’t right. The salmon came on a black skillet with peppers all stuck to the skillet. Awful the wooden skillet was filthy worn and vile. Waste of money. I would never recommend this place to eat or drink.

Really enjoyed my meal today me and my mom both had the £9 meal deal on a Tuesday chicken skewers and peppers and onions on a sizzler and jacket potato and salad just wish the vinaigrette wasn’t on the salad as couldn’t eat it. With hot sauce Staff was very friendly. Service was very good

Really disappointing. Come here for a 30th birthday meal to be given cold food and staff managed to ruin the birthday cake surprise. The waitress loudly said to her colleague "you grab the plates while I get the cake" which the birthday girl overheard, then when the cake came out it was missing one of the numbered candles, so instead of saying 30, it said 3. The staff managed to lose the other candle. The staff didn't seem to care either, we won't be coming back.

I visited The Cambridge for the first time today and I won't be going back. I was looking forward to it, as the friend I was with had recommended it and even she was appalled. We arrived at about 12.30 and as we are both blind, we were seated at a table, the server (white woman, black hair and foreign) came to take our orders and she was quite surly. My friend ordered a mug of tea and a jacket potato with cheese and salad whilst I ordered some lemonade with a beef lasagne. Neither food order was the best and my lasagne was very dry and lukewarm at best and my friend's jacket potato was mediocre. The costs were extortionate. My friend wanted to take her salad home but we couldnt attract anyone's attention so I had to negotiate my way around tables to stand in the queue at the bar and people in the queue helped me find a server to assist us. To say that service was slow, it was like watching tumbleweed gently rolling across the desert. Staff seemed to be thin on the ground despite entering the busy lunchtime period. My friend and I won't be visiting again because it is somewhere best avoided. Keep your money in your pocket and go elsewhere. The customer service stinks and the food is awful.

Value for money had fish and chips . Just wish bread and butter included not extra. Very good atmosphere and a new lady with red hair was very talkative and helpful. Nice to see a smile. All in all would come back

It was very busy when we arrived so we sat at the only free table which was dirty and cluttered with glasses and spillages. If we hadn't asked one of the staff no one would've cleaned it. I had the Home burger which was very poor quality. Topped with a sausage that contained so little meat it probably qualified as vegan.

Alex is a great manager at the Cambridge and if I ever have a problem she is the first person to sort it out for me. Charlie, Danni, Holly, George and Levi are all great with their custom service and are really friendly and helpful.

We had a lovely lunch, the staff were friendly but the pub was a little chilly🥶

Its rare for the right level of service. Either they bring items outs and a long wait for having to request for the missibg items. Or they rush the courses. Like any parent, if i didn`t ask for the desert, dont bring it and stick it on the table with my kids still eating, i stated too soon but recieved a shrug. My kid kicked off and i walked out without touching the desert from the poor behaviour that ensued.

Worst breakfast I've had in ages. Avoid breakfast at all costs. I emailed you as requested with no response. Details as to why it was so bad: sausages were extremely overcooked and tasted like they'd been sitting there for hours, bacon was mostly overcooked with one piece actually raw. Toast was cold so the butter provided was near impossible to spread. Eggs were the only thing that looked fresh. Beans were provided separately and scarce. Overall a disappointing experience.

Came today as a family of 6. Waited far too long for food. When we asked and they went to check it was apparently just being plated and we were then informed that there was a half hour wait for food that we were not told when we ordered. However we did inform them we had waited well over half an hour and other people had been in after us and ordered and served. When the food did come out the roast dinners were barely warm, but at this point I was too hungry to send it back. The waitress came over to see if everything was ok and I told her the food was barely warm. She apologised and said she would sort us something out and we never saw her again.😴 we realised when it was to late that the child’s beef burger meal was awful the burger was dry and chewy and the bun was hard. All in all not an enjoyable experience.

Visited The Cambridge with my family for a meal, this place has such polite and friendly staff which made such an impact. We were served by a friendly waiter Danielle, who made us feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door, made sure our table was clean, recommended food choices for us and even accommodated for allergies and preferences for our meals. Danielle checked on us throughout our stay and made sure we were comfortable and happy with the food. The food and drinks were delicious, the service was great. I definitely recommend this place! 10/10
