Went on a friend’s birthday when it was a wet and windy day, we had the most fabulous warm and happy welcome and it was warm and cosy inside too, I had a sandwich which was made to order by the luvly happy lady and the rest of my group had the freshly made soup which they were raving about, after a couple of cups of hot coffee we made room for the sumptuous carrot cake, oh my gosh!!! It was fabulous 😄😄😄😄. What a find will definitely be back . Thank you for making our friend feel special you even put a candle in his cake 🎂 If your in the area you must go and even if your not I would definitely make a detour to go Thank you

On driving through Egton on our way to Whitby we spotted the Cake Shop sign outside the Witching Post Inn and thought lets pop in for a cuppa. Well what a surprise to find this delightful coffee shop in the North York Moors. We both enjoyed a smashing cup of Yorkshire tea along with a piece of carrot cake and Victoria sponge which were to die for. The service was great and the owner Maria was a great host. Apparently its only just opened but we'll definitely pop in again when next visiting the area.

Second time having breakfast at The Pines for me, third for my mum and brother with whom I come on holiday to lovely Filey. I can see how the local older folk love this little cafe but you don't have to be old to appreciate its charm or indeed a good, reasonably priced English breakfast. Malcolm is a great host with his cheeky banter!

We accidently discovered this cafe while hunting around Whitby for something more "homely". The staff were very accommodating for our party of 7. They ensured we got seated and looked after us all the step of the way. The food was plentiful, tasty, and very reasonably priced. There was a good selection that suited both adults and children. If you want to avoid the mass of marauding tourists and seaguls. Take a stroll up the hill to Stokers.

We stumbled across this place whilst wandering around the old town. It’s near the swing bridge on Grape Street Small menu so we tried most of it - everything we had was great. Loved the kimchi dumplings and the sushi. The bowl of delight which I forget the name of was delicious as was the sweet chilli chicken. All freshly cooked and tasty! We will return to try what we missed!! It was very reasonably priced, friendly service and can’t recommend enough.
